A small cake shop in Surry Hills where everything made from scratch and the smells of warm freshly baked cakes and savoury rolls bring a little happiness and contentment. Let’s try the best seller red velvet and some daily menu.
RED VELVET CAKE – What a great taste especially the “RED” velvet cake! if it less sweet, I’ll give perfect score for this one. But I found out that the meringue is a little bit too sweet. (9/10)
GLUTEN FREE ORANGE ALMOND CAKE . The cake was sweet but was cut off by the slight bitter and sourness of the orange peel that makes this cake delicious. (8/10)
SAUSAGE ROLL - forgot to take the picture of thar sausage roll as it is kind of normal in taste. But you can’t go wrong with a sausage roll, so its decent! (7/10)
Should I try the healthy one instead of the sweet hot chocolate after eating all the sweets? So I decided to order this NOAH’S CREATIVE JUICE – combination of apple, peach, kiwi fruit, mango and lime. The juice is everthing you want for a juice. It is sweet, sour and fresh; but its pretty dense for a juice so that prevents it from getting the perfect score (9/10)
Ordered a key lime pie for a Saturday collection, they close at 1pm on a Saturday. Lovely service and most importantly a great key lime pie. Highly recommend this pie
I would highly recommend Jillian’s for their Red Velvet Cake!
The icing is so addictive, and the texture of the cake is perfect. There aren’t many places that can pull off a good (not dry at all - I’ll avoid using the ‘m’ adjective 😂) red velvet.
For $7 per slice, I was pretty happy. There are cake places out there where you even have to fork out more without the same level of quality here.
I was initially hoping to get the carrot cake but they didn’t have it. :(
Looking forward to coming back for my fix of cakes again, their display looked amazing.
Popped into this cute bakery for a coffee on a cold day and it was great! On the bitter side and made to perfection, the only thing to warm you up when winter has officially hit!
Service was fantastic, coffee was done quickly and with a smile. Very friendly staff and a gorgeous setting for pick up and sitting in.
The cakes on display looked beautiful and I’ll be back to try one for sure! Plenty of gluten free options as well, which is always a bonus.
Tried the carrot cake and it was really good! Icing -
Cake ratio is just right. Icing is a bit on the sweet side and could use a stronger cream cheese flavour, but the spices on the carrot cake itself are well-balanced. Loved it overall!
No filters. The cake is soo moist, its not heavy and not too sweet. Its so good that I had to hide it because I cant stop having a bite, I want it to last till tea time :) I'll definitely come back to try the other cakes.

Native from Florida and I think this place done the justice to this pie.
Sourness from key lime juice and the sweetness from condense milk making this is a nice treat on hot summer day.
Coffee however, a little letdown! I wish they do better coffee to match their excellent cake!
Great prices. Convenient location. Always there when I need to get a last minute cake. Professional staff. Cakes aren’t that great though. Very overpowering sweetness. And I have almost tried them all, from red velvet to carrot, tres leche and hummingbird. All way too sweet but convenience trumps all.
A number of assorted cakes for sale, we went there as I have not had the 3 layers cake in ages. We decided on the red velvet cake with vanilla bean icing and it was excellent! The carrot cake looked great too, will try that next time! They also sell whole cakes for order.
We happened across this absolute gem and will definitely be returning again! We bought a slice each of the vanilla and red velvet cakes and a piece of the brownie s’mores slice - all of them were so YUM and great value! The service was friendly, we even got a parking spot out the front. Access in to the shop is easy and it’s probably about a 5-6 minute walk from Central train station.
I believe this is the best Carrots cake In Surry hills area and around Sydney😀.
Also this place is famous for key lime pie.

This is a wonderful shop full of warm, helpful people who truly care to deliver great customer service. I am located in the US and I worked closely with Nadene to get a cake delivered to someone on the ground in Sydney last minute. From start to finish she was amazing. To top it off I heard the cake itself was delicious!!! Can't thank them enough for all they did to help!

Ordered a cake for my daughter's 18th Birthday. It was a tall cake with 2 layers and decorations. Beautifully baked and crafted. It was amazingly delicious too. Few cupcakes were ordered too for the event. They just flew off the cake stand so quickly, leaving us wanting for more.
Cake delivery was on time as requested. Very professional and individual service. Highly recommended.
We've just moved next door and I'm worried for my waist line 😬😂 Coffee is always spot on 🤌☕️ and the cakes so far are amazing.

The staff are so lovely all the time, especially the young girl who makes the coffees. She remembers me and my wife even enough to ask how our recent trip was when she saw us passing with our luggage.
There is tonnes of other cafes nearby but we choose Sydney Cakery / Jillians Cafe because the consistent coffee and friendly smile and welcome is what makes the difference!
