Wow!! My second visit here and all I can say is wow because everytime I visit, the quality is outstanding and so are the dishes. The highlight of my meal were definitely the tuna carpaccio and Wagyu roll - the tuna was perfectly flavoured with a hint of spice and umami with the crispy onions. The tuna was so thin and absorbed the sauce really well.
The Wagyu roll was quite tender and the perfect bite size, a sweet soy flavour and melted in your mouth. The roll wasn’t too heavy with the rice and I would say the amount we ordered was enough for 2 people but we did have a tiny bit amount left over (we could have done without the karaage and the portion would have been good).
The service and atmosphere was exceptional and they are quite attentive, even the sushi chefs when we had any requests! I would love to visit again and I know it’ll only get better.
Was recommended to come here to try omakase and it was an experience. Was abit hard to find because it was in the Establishment and up the lift. The dining area quite compact. Kitchen in the middle with 3 chefs.
The dishes came out quite fast which was good. The sushi was nice but was abit too much. 8 different sushis was abit much. Then after it was the wagyu chuck with rice as a main. Tasty but abit over cooked wagyu made it abit dry. Rice was very tasty though. But by then I was completely full from all that sushi. So had to take most of it away.
Service was excellent. No complaints there.
Overall, nice place to kick back and enjoy quality Japanese food.
I am visiting Sydney and a very lovely friend of mine recommended this place and oh boy I had a great lunch.
I was the first person in, as I booked at opening time, mind I was wearing shorts and a crew cut black sweatshirt even if they stated in the email the dress code was smart casual, I would have not been surprised if I would have been sent away at the door, but it did not happen. I sat at the large bar, stunning interior, nice long marble sushi bar and some other tables for larger groups. Casey (hopefully I am spelling her name right) was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable.
After presenting the specials she gave a couple of suggestions on what to order. Unfortunately they serve San Pellegrino as Sparkling water, which is the death of sushi and delicate flavours with the chalky consistency so I did have Panna as a Still Water option.
I had the Edamame ( classic) they were perfectly cooked and I liked the they came still attached to the small branches, it looked great. After that, some Sydney Rock Oysters with two different toppings: The Shiso granita, surprisingly delicious even if a bit sweet and the Ponzu, perfectly balanced ( I usually ask Ponzu on the side as it can be unbalance and therefore very harsh on oysters). The Wagyu Uramaki was juicy and tender, the short rib inside was perfectly cooked. Tuna Dynamite Temaki was delicious and spicy , I loved the Nori they used, it is of a great quality indeed. The absolute highlight was my main dish, the King Crag Soba noodles, very generous portion and incredible umami. This dish is the reason I would go back to this place. Perfectly balanced flavours tender noodles and mouthwatering crab meat. Fantastic!!! I had a gorgeous SSB from Western Australia, their premium wine selection is outstanding, wish I had more time in Sydney because I would go back and try more!
Oh and thanks for the Dessert you sent to my table, was just the cherry on top!! ( or the pannacotta strawberry In this case, AH!)
Thanks so much to my waitress and the team again for the experience.
I just had a dinner and a great night here.
Nice environment on the top of the Establishment.
Waitress was so polite helping us with our choices, easy to talk to and with a good memory. Food was cooked in front of us, which helped as well to understand exactly what we could have eaten.
We spent 2 hours eating great food. The dessert suggested by our waitress was amazing!
It is expensive but totally worth it.
Sushi E is upstairs from Establishment and offers a Japanese fine dining experience. You can see the sushi chefs turn fresh produce into delicious dishes. I enjoyed everything pictured.
Standout service and excellent food and drinks, in a sleek modern ambiance that reminds me of the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Our server was warm but not over the top, always there when we needed her. When we asked for food recommendations, she was able to provide them based on the drinks we had ordered.
For drinks, I had the Silk Road, which was gin, passion fruit, and egg white. So refreshing and delicious! For food, we had the:
1. Balmain Bug Lettuce Cups: 5/5. Must-try. An explosion of flavours from the first bite. The crisp lettuce, the fleshy avocado, the crunchy tempura Balmain bug, the salty caviar, and a creamy sauce to top it off. A great start to your meal, even though there’s only one lettuce cup per order.
2. Snapper sashimi: 4/5. Delicately cut, it’s light and refreshing. Drizzled in sesame oil to render its base flavour. However, the taste of the fish is a little lost.
3. Atlantic Salmon handroll: 4.5/5. Looks small but actually quite filling. A combination of flavours that all complimented the grilled salmon.
We dropped by on a Saturday evening and luckily there was still space. On the pricier side but definitely recommend if you are in the area!
I highly recommend the kingfish sashimi and wagyu and caviar sushi. These dishes really surprise me with fantastic flavour. The waitresses are gorgeous and very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really good too. Good place to go!
Fancy upper-class sushi restaurant with great sushi selections, great service and great interior design.
We went for dinner on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy.
Spot on. Everything from the service when we arrived to the food. Absolutely spectacular. The soft shell crab hand rolls were amazing, the sashimi so fresh and tasty & the cocktails were super funky. 100% returning here again!
We were able to walk in without a booking, and sat at the bar where we watched one of the chefs prepare our sashimi and sushi, which was a lot of fun. We ordered oysters with ponzu, kingfish sashimi, a medium plate of sashimi (12 pieces), Balmain bug, wagyu tataki and a dynamite sushi roll. Our favourites were the wagyu, which was served with pickled onions and egg yolk, was smokey, creamy and melt in your mouth delicious, and the Balmain bug tempura- crispy, meaty, inventive and extremely flavourful. The sashimi and sushi were both very fresh and delicious.
For drinks we had the "inglorious bastard" cocktail, which tasted quite herbal, and "senpai", which was fruity and refreshing. Both were welcome accompaniments to our meal, and neither was too strong.
Service was very professional; overall we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and appreciated the extra touch of complementary dessert!
Wow ! Great company and great food. What a way to end a busy day in Sydney. The food at Sushi E is alway consistent, good, easily digestible and just tantalising. I always feel good after eating there.
The dishes were just top of the charts and can’t wait to come back.
The salmon dishes and tuna dishes were great and my friend loved the chicken.
Please try!! You won’t be upset.
Also the waitresses and staff are friendly, courteous and just happy to please.
Hungry Tum
Seriously best Japanese in Sydney. Too good to be true! Not cheap at all, but never disappointing. Super skilled chefs and high quality ingredients. Waiters might forget about your wine or water sometimes or even a booking, but I will come back anyways for great sushi and will recommend as the best sushi place.
Been to Sushi E for Lunch to celebrate my birthday.
We had: Assorted Sashimi platter, Sushi E style kingfish, Salmon Tartare & two Maki Rolls (spider & Balmain bug)
Positives
-Ingredients in the sashimi platter are very fresh,
-Wasabi in the sashimi platter are real wasabi (not those green powder cake you can get from a tub)
-Chef's signature sashimi are contempoary & generous in size
-Sushi E Kingfish is delicious
-Comfortable & stylish location
Negatives
-One small fish scale on the bonito sashimi
-The wait staffs are a let down.
E.g 1. Product knowledge: Does not know difference between a chu-toro or oo-toro.
E.g 2. Need to chase up the waiter to refill the green tea (it was a 30mins wait)
E.g 3. Pushy -waiter inisit to collect our plates while we are still enjoying the food.
Will I go there again? May be, but I will not expect much from the waiteress.
Score? 3.5/5
Very expensive place with a classy vibe to it which is good for dates, special occasions etc. You can be seated around the bar where you can watch the chefs prepare the food for you, or be seated behind them on small intimate tables.
We were able to get seats straight away on a Thursday night (~6:30pm) which was awesome. Had some problems with our order though wherein they brought us a dish that we didn't order and mixed up another one of our dishes. They let us have one free of charge which was very nice of them, and they charged for the other one since we decided to keep it. We later realised they never brought us one of our other dishes, so we checked up on it and turns out our waitress didn't put the order through. It was fine though since at this point, we were quite full. Overall, mistakes were made and it wasn't a big deal but service was just a bit slow at times.
Onto the food! Most of the sashimi/sushi was great, some pieces were pretty tough to chew, perhaps served too soon. Sushi E Style Kingfish was very tasty, nothing amazing but it was quite a decent portion which was good considering the pricetag. My favourite dish was definitely the Miso Cod - so succulent, so very delicious. Would definitely recommend it. They also gave us all some complementary panna cotta, which was a lovely surprise :)
Overall, the food is above average and very well presented but I'm really not sure if it's worth the price.
Absolutely outstanding. From the moment you walk through the doors to the time you leave, you are spoilt with slick, attentive and smart service.
Tip, sit at the counter and watch the Japanese masters at work, it is a real pleasure.
As far as the food goes I really don't know where to start, it is quiet simply an awesome sushi experience.
The miso, oysters, seaweed salad are all really on another level from even some of the best sushi joints in town.
The Balmain bug roll is just to die for, seriously I have not had a better roll anywhere, period. The roasted eggplant was also done in a way I've never experienced- just so many elements and dimensions, it is something special.
And the Miso Cod is absolutely sublime. Not only does it look like a work of art, it's the gastronomic equivalent of the Mona Lisa. You could eat your way through Tokyo and I doubt you'd find much better than this dish.
I've been coming here for years, and can tell you this place is consistently on another level.
My birthday dinner celebrations have developed a bit of a tradition in the form of Japanese cuisine. So naturally, sooner or later, we’d end up at sushi e for it. The friendly staff at sushi e seated us promptly and as I began to look over the menu, I quickly became excited. There were a lot of my favourites!
Came here for dinner on a friday night and the place was packed, thank God we made reservations beforehand. Love the atmosphere and the table setting where everyone sits around the sushi bar where we could watch the chefs prepare the sushi and sashimi.
We ordered the agedashi tofu, mixed tempura, wagyu skewers, atlantic sushi (salmon sushi) and bay bug tempura sushi. My favorite was the wagyu skewer because the wagyu was very tender and juicy and sort of melts in your mouth, the wagyu was also seasoned beautifully. The sushi were really great too, but the atlantic sushi lacked some flavor, perhaps you could add some sauce in it. The agedashi tofu was nice too, the broth was yummy. The mixed tempura was nice and crispy.
Will definitely be back!
This is the best place for a date night or a catch up with a friend. The set up is so everyone can sit at the sushi bar and watch them make your sushi! Ive been here twice now and its one of the best japanese restaurants I have been to. The oysters were fresh, the wagyu beef were soo tender and mixed well with their sauce, their sashimi are always fresh. Love their service also and will be back again when I come by Sydney for anothet visit.
A classic for Japanese lovers. The service is always courteous and impeccable. The ambiance is perfect for an informal business lunch. The cuisine is excellent in its variation on traditional Japanese dishes. Highly recommend it!
This place is amazing!!!!! You simply cannot fault it! All the sushi was delicious, melt-in-your-mouth, pure amazement! I loved it!!! This is definitely a sushi place that MUST be on your list! I am rating Sushi E a much deserved 5.0 which I have never done before..
The service staff are very friendly and very accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure you are having a pleasant experience!!
A great, great restaurant that I will return to whenever I get a chance!
High end sushi restaurant in the establishment building. I was taken here for my birthday and I must admit, the sushi is very fresh and well made. It is very expensive though so it's probably more suited to the business crowd. Nice ambience and great service.
Food was great. Tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the thick sashimi (not enough of them for $39!). Have not touched the main dishes yet, but my friend and I ordered two rolls, agedashi tofu, foie gras, and the sashimi for two, and we went out of the restaurant with slightly tighter jeans and shortness of breath (not illness, just very very full). The Umeshu was also fresh and not too sweet as some plum wines can be.
Services was prompt and tentative without being interruptive (they asked us if everything was alright just the right amount of time).
I would say, the price tag was a bit steep, but it is fresh, it is in a fancy establishment (get it get it?), the chefs definitely know what they're doing and it's totally perfect for those of you guys who want to impress the ladies!!.
Also, kinda awesome place to have a catchup night with your friends and quietly people watch. Trust me on this.
Fish fish fish! Amazing fish. Cooked ones have subtle taste, and sashimi you can feel the freshness.
Was reading some of the reviews, and agreed that this is the place you want to take someone special to on her birthday.
Best sushi outside of Japan, no joke! It's pricey but service is amazing and the fresh ingredients are beautiful. This is the kind of place you take your partner for birthday dinner!
The dining experience was impressive. The waitresses here are so friendly and helpful, the food here is amazing, we had the best sea urchin and tamago sushi we ever had.
Incrediably good sushi & Japanese restaurant. Best bet is to sit back and let the feed you a variety of treats.
A must visit. $$$$

Delicious food, great service, nice place to have a family dining. I was very pleased with the taste & the portions of the food, it was worth the price as well. I will definitely come again next time ☺
Having read many rave reviews and craving really good sushi, i decided to give this place a try with the swede. Ordered the premium sashimi and sushi platter to share and 2 miso soups. The seafood was fresh and the portions are good. Over all a good japanese restaurant.

I settle at the Sushi Bar for a lovely dinner. I love this place and have traditionally dined at Hemmesphere (the cocktail lounge which is connected to the restaurant), however today I have decided to dine at the Sushi Bar instead. It is a great way to see the food being prepared and a much more social setting being surrounded by fellow diners and interacting with the staff.
It was really nice experience. The sushi r really tasty, especially the wagyu with teriyaki sauce on it. One thing to be addressed, the sushi rolls were all warm and made me feel good as my stomach hurts sometimes after eating too cold food. Seaweed salad is exactly what I expected. The waitresses were really polite and considerate. Free Raspberry pudding surprised me a lot.
This sushi bar is right in amongst the trendy establishment. Great atmosphere. The sushi chefs working hard and do not lose focus at all. Fresh sashimi of high quality, soft shell crab and bay bug sushi made to order. On the higher end of Japanese dining with a good selection of alcohol, I can see the appeal.
Sushi E had escaped my attention until a few weeks ago. The reviews and rating looked promising and I was not disappointed. Dishes for the evening were the sashimi plate, salt and pepper cuttlefish and the highlight the Wagyu roll. The rice in the roll was so light it like it wasn't there; the smoky beef flavour clear and present. The cuttlefish was also excellent and of the sashimi simply melted in the mouth. Meals like this reminds me I don't eat Japanese often enough. Sitting watching the team prepare the food is fun particularly seeing a length of zucchini turned into a wafer thin sheet from skin to the core. Kudos to the bar staff also. My Cameron Kick was outstanding.
Ordered mixed termpura, small sashimi and atlantic rolls. It's a pricey restaurant, hence food was good. But personally was not particularly impressed like what other reviews claimed. Everyone dresses like they're going to red carpet so make sure you dress up a little too if you don't want to feel out of place (like us, in our Nikes) just a friendly advice
Nice waitresses but they're a bit in your face
Came here for a birthday dinner. Very fresh sashimi (almost as good as my top place to go for sashimi in Crows Neat :)) sushi was great. Ambiance was lovely, staff were attentive as well. The only downside I remember was the green tea ice cream which was the consistency and texture of CLAG glue (so have your dessert elsewhere). Not very appealing. Other than than, tops.
One of my favourite Japanese bars in Sydney
A classic institution but a favourite especially for a date, it's quiet and intimate and the chefs are classically talented
Can't wait to visit again
After trying what's on offer at the Tsukiji fish markets in Japan a year ago, the sushi restaurants in Sydney never tasted quite the same anymore. Until one special evening, we decided to give sushi e a go... It's probably one of the most premium sushi places in Sydney, but you definitely get what you pay for. Starting off with a small sashimi - so fresh and full of umami, definitely got my saliva flowing for more. The agedashi tofu came in a deliciously smokey, salty dashi broth, which balanced well with the big blocks of silken tofu. The platter of nigiri was the star and it was superb. We picked six types and had two of each, the scampi and salmon belly were my favourites. Last but not least we had the Balmain bug tempura roll, and we're stuffed at that point. Everything was fresh, flavours were executed with an expert level of finesse. Big thumbs up and give this place a try the next time you're reminiscing about Tsukiji...
Absolutely stunning food. Really pricey but worth it. Had the edamame, vege tempura and miso soup. Staff were excellent. Felt out of place in my nikes 😂
Everything was delicious. The snapper sashimi's sauce was amazing, esp the taste of sesame blended with the oil. The special rice roll with mango in it, the mango brought out a very fresh sense to the whole roll. The "mayo" sauce of scampi is very special, I couldn't taste what is it, but it matches up so well with the scampi. The final dessert was very refresh to finish the lunch.
Firstly would like to start off by applauding our waitress Cassie for being amazing. Everyone else ignored eye contact and we came with a low expectation on service from what friends had told us.
The amaretto sour was amazing as was the Establishment rolls and the Miso Cod. Would recommend both. The complimentary dessert was also delicious.
This restaurant gonna be one of my favorite sushi place!!! The food so delicious particular Tuna is very fresh, the staff very friendly, particular chef!!! If u sit on the counter bar, chef will recommend menu for u by ask you what do u like!!!!
Ps. When u ask for bill they will give u small dessert 😍😍 I love it!!
We didn't know what to expect, but the place came highly rated by locals. No wonder! The restaurant was fun so we were seated at the hemisphere lounge. Lucky I think! Although really busy we were seated quickly with friendly staff. Good and drinks came out promptly and were fantastic. The soft shell crab lettuce cup was a standout. I will definitely be back next time we visit Sydney.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Birthday dinner here ! It was just nice for two humans.
Ordered Sashimi ($20), you get 6+2 pieces of raw fishes of the day. You def cannot compare these high grade fishes with other conventional Japanese restaurants. To be honest, this was our first time trying out Sashimi and it was such a rewarding experience.
For main course it was Miso Cod & Pork Belly.
o.m.g. If you ever tried Nobu's Miso Cod, you will find Sushi E's Miso Cod to be like the Mother version. As compared to the famous Nobu's Miso Cod, this is less sweeter and more on a savory side. You will have a caramelized top and flaky, succulent meat where its flavor will blow your mind.
Pork Belly. Now where do I begin. This is not in the food menu above and needs to be updated. 10 Hours braised pork in... uhm... DELICIOUS SAUCE ! Sorry I really cannot remember what sauce but come on, anything braised for that long is generally going to give you good flavor !
The waitress warned us about the cut of the pork which is not too acceptable by many. We went for it regardless and we now know why. Let's just say the fat-meat ratio is 4 to 6.
If you personally love pork belly then you will experience euphoria.
THE FAT MELTS! IT DISAPPEARS IN YOUR MOUTH! OOoooo...
That's it! It's my first time here and it won't be the last :)
Ps: It's a noisy environment.
I was staying in a nearby hotel and came here based on reviews. I was not expecting such a glamorous setting. I sat at the sushi bar. Cocktail, sushi and service were all great, good value for the package.
If nothing else, Merivale sure knows how to throw a fantastic party. After the resounding success of the first ever Coogee Foreshore Festival – a little rain can’t stop them! – they’re following it up with another showcase of their renowned restaurants, this time in the form of Wok On! held this time, at the Establishment. Part of the annual March into Merivale celebrations, Wok On! transforms the Establishment into a marketplace, where Mr Wong, Sushi E, Sunee, and Ms G offers up samples of their best and most popular, saving you the hassle (and budget!) of visiting every restaurant individually to try their wares.
Sushi E has been sitting on my wish list ever since it was chronicled by one of my favourite food bloggers, Pris of Food Porn Nation . I was sold as soon as I saw awesome Japanese tapas, fresh sashimi and some modern takes on traditional Japanese staples. Let me try and sell you now (I swear I have no arranged marriage in place with Sushi-E. Speaking of, you know my old man has been trying to pimp me out to some of our family friends? He sends photos of me to them accompanied by a question mark than eagerly awaits responses. I wish I was making this up).
It’s not my first time eating here, but after a few very satisfying and consistent sushi experiences, i have left every time with a good impression. The restaurant itself is small with most of the seats being placed around the sushi bar. There are a few tables on the side which are more suitable for slightly larger groups but I prefer sitting at the bar so i can see the sushi being made fresh. The chefs here cut sashimi and make sushi as you order so nothing is pre made or pre cut. There is definitely a difference between freshly made to order an
I’ve been to Sushi e more times than I can count over the years. It is seriously good Japanese. But it also comes with an accompanying serious price tag. If you don’t mind that, pull up a seat at the bar if you’re on your own or with a friend; or grab a table for four or six; or, if you feel like settling in for a while, take a seat on one of the plush lounges at the adjacent Hemmesphere and kick back – its quite easy to pass several hours there, with the dulcid tones of Al Green, or other great music from the Hemmesphere CD selection, in the background, cocktail in hand. Over time, I’ve probably worked my way through most of the menu. I always order the sashimi, it is first rate, and the delicious prawn shumai with the ponzu sauce. I could eat trays of the shumai, but at a hefty $18.50 for six, one tray has to do (Shaun Presland, who started here, also does a similar version at Sake ). One dish I hadn’t tried before which I really liked was the crab san choy bow – recommended. But….I
it’s nothing particularly new, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a better roll that’s similar in composition to the Atlantic roll. From the first bite, the salmon, soft and creamy, melts into a pot of just-right acidic sushi rice (uruchimai) which holds together perfectly. Flavour is then injected in the next few bites from the salmon roe & mayo combo, leveling it up a notch. This taste and texture then rolls into the salmon filling at the center, which is when the seaweed finally shows itself, and an umami finish from it seals the deal.
The dragon ash roll we shared was AMAZING. Strong smokey flavour in the salmon made a great companion to the fried shallots, which are so often relegated to the role of a garnish to noodle soups.
March into Mervivale (Merivale’s 5 week long food and drinks event calender) takes us to their large palatial Coogee Pavilion. Stalls from Mr Wongs, El loco, Papi Chulo, Deus, SushiE all feature with eats from all the vendors. Luckily the weather gods were kind and the passing shower came and went. We spent 4 hours at the event and the always bustlin Coogee Pavilion was a hub of foodie fans and the Festival catered for all; even the young uns with puppet shows and their large play area. We did mention Deus were here and for a nifty 2 tokens (approximately $11.25) you can net yourself a nice Deus logoed tee that they screen printed on site. Got tokens will travel. Going from the top down. The adults only Coogee Roof Bar was bustlin. March into Merivale didn’t extend upwards but you’re able to wander round with your eats and dine upstairs. The seaview and the 3-4 bars upstairs means you’ll be well taken care of.
Mr C decided to book a visit to Sushi E as part of the March into Merivale period, the restaurant is actually a part of Hemmesphere Bar and both are part of Merivale group situated at the top of the Establishment building above Est.

Sushi-e is an authentic sushi bar, tucked on the forth floor of a pretty fancy bar, the Establishment. The sushi bar itself, where we were seated, was definitely the place to sit. Seeing the bustle of the sushi chefs was definitely one of the highlights for me. My complaint would probably be towards the lack of dining space (mostly for the sake of space for food photos), but I guess that comes with sitting at a bar.
Glistening and melt in your mouth, accompanied with a sprinkling of chives and sea salt, a beautiful combination of fresh fish and tangy lime flavours. Juicy Scallops seared under Black Mountain Chilli and Spicy Mayo with a Baby Leaf Salad ($23) Scallops were perfectly seared. The blackened bits were the spices, not the charring of the scallop. Beautifully fresh and still tender on the inside, with the right amount of kick in the creamy spicy mayo. Dragon Ash Roll - Seared Salmon Rolled Inside Out wrap
Before I knew what was happening the tobanyaki arrived, bubbling away in the ceramic bowl, you could actually see it going crazy with the lid bobbling around. The great reveal allowed the aromas to waft around and I instantly picked up on sesame followed by hearty beef.
the tuna ceviche is a must... big chunks of magnificent tuna, ripe cherry tomatoes, micro leaves and a sharp citrus punch.
There's about two weeks left to make the most out of the March into Merivale deals at the Merivale stable of restaurants, so get booking, especially as the likes of Est , Felix and Uccello tend to book out quickly.

We ended up at sushi e, located in the Establishment building of the Merivale empire, and were seated on stools at a marble bar surrounding the sushi chefs, which allowed us to watch head chef Nobuyuki Ura in action.
We shared some of my favourites, like the Balmain bug tails and white miso marinated cod, and tried some new dishes, including the salmon tartare. Everything was divine, and the service is impeccable as always with attentive staff and well timed dishes.
Yum!. Super cool place with super cool food! Going back!
Great food, great viewing. When I travel to Sydney I often come to this place if I am dining alone. A stool at the sushi bar is the ideal place to enjoy your own company and watch the parade around you.
The food here is very good...most of the japanese favourites with a few twists and very high quality produce. At the sushi bar you can watch the chefs prepare the food, the waiters rushing from table to table and diners coming and going. It's easy to lose track of time.
The wine list is very good also. The whole thing may be a little more expensive than your average japanese restaurant but the quality of the food and the experience of the restaurant make it worth it.
Loved it!. Dined here last night whilst staying at The Establishment hotel. Had some really good sashimi and an amazing scallop sashimi dish which alone will make me return. The prawn dumplings were beautiful as was the soft shell crab sushi. Great service & atmosphere will make us return when next in Sydney.
Expensive.. Sushi was good but very pricey. Service was okay but nothing special.
Delicious food but slow service
Best sushi restaurant in Australia. Have dined all across the world and there is no better place. Make sure u get percy or ura to prepare ur food, for the ultimate experience. Have been coming here for years and never disappoints. Anywhere other than sushi e is second rate sushi
Sushi E - Exceptional. Sushi E has to be one of my favourate sushi dining experiences. Sydney has an abundance of high quality Japanese restauarnts. There are many places that you can experience and will not be disappointed. We are truly blessed to have so much high quality choices available to us. But, I find it difficult to choose any other than Sushi E. I dined here last week with a mate and had the most fantastic flavour explosions. My mate had never been to Sushi E and really enjoyed the experience. The food and service is outstanding, and the ability to sit at the sushi bar and discuss ideas, suggestions and produce with the chef is excellent. If you enjoy Japanese food, then you will love Sushi E.
My Love. As an OBSESSIVE sushi eater, i have to say it is hard to top my favs when it comes to this catagory,
Sushi E is amazing, for the overall experience you must sit at the sushi bar and enjoy a cocktail or two, its all about entertainment, atmosphere and dressing up for a great night. i would personally suggest that it is a romantic and comfortable experience. this is somewhere i visit on a regular basis, if your able to choose a chef on the night URA is the main chef and is amazingly talented.
Delicious!! Love the pork belly - I order it every time I go. The wagyu beef is pretty good aswell. Servings are small to decent depending on what you order & expect to spend quite a bit but it's absolutely worth it .
Amazing dining experience, really nice service and atmosphere. Would've loved to try the Omakase but it wasn't available Monday night. We still got to sit at the bar behind the chefs and see them make the dishes and admire the technique.
The tuna carpaccio and beef tartare were absolute standouts. I'd skip the hand roll next time but definitely pick a few of the nigiri pieces. The free dessert at the end is a nice touch too.
Probably one of the best sushi restaurants in Sydney. Customers are sitting right in front of the sushi bar and will be able to observe all the sushi making from start to finish. Front of house staff are also very polite and the service was excellent. At the end of your meal every customer is entitled to a complimentary Panna Cotta as well. Highly recommended
Really love how small but accessible this place is, although it isn't as intimate as some other places you're likely to get a booking here seated at the counter watching the action happen. The chefs are all masters at what they do, just watching them with precision focus on slicing paper thin slices amazes me. The food was perfect, I expected high quality but this surpassed expectations. You must order the tuna carpaccio, I loved the crispy touch of challot and chilli. Overall Sushi E are providing arguebly the best Sushi experience in Sydney that is actually accessible (unlike some other spots which play some ridiculous booking system involving sending an SMS to a phone number at the strike of midnight and then hoping all the stars align...) and is a MUST go if you have the opportunity.
We came here on a Friday night, thought it was omakase but we checked and they only do that Tuesday to Thursday :( but a la carte was super good nonetheless. We tried their three types of oysters, chef selection sashimi plate, dynamite roll, raw kingfish dish, a handful of nigiris and their special menu wagyu skewers. Quality was super, everything so delicious and I kept moaning after every bite looool 😆 to finish off, we had the passionfruit cheesecake and my goodness me... best dessert ever.... wow seriously, if they have that for a dessert option when you go, seriously get it. You won't regret!!! Everything was so well balanced - flavours, textures, everything!! So refreshing and delicious 😋 service was excellent 👌 definitely worth a try!!
I came here for my birthday and it was one of the finest sushi I've ever had in Sydney. The staff there were also spectacular; one waitstaff somehow remembered my entire order of 10+ dishes without even using a pen and paper. Also what I liked about the service is, she did not try to upsell dishes and recommended based on what I liked. The same waitstaff also came out with a nice birthday desert, shortly after I mentioned it was my birthday. The food was again 10/10. The experience was most pleasurable and will definitely be back for more!
Best oysters I ever had, very quick service. Lovely food. Cocktails a bit on the expensive side.
