FELIX
30mins or 3 hours.....this is a place that you feel is your second home...even after just the one visit.
As Bastille day approached Becca Bites charged forward into the revolution that is top French tucker at Felix.
So whats all the fuss about, well it delivers on what you would or can expect from a classic Paris eatery – fresh produce, a good wine list that does not break the bank, and the whos who of French cuisine.
On this night Becca Bites went for wine by the glass and two courses with a desert to share – price point (including champagne on arrival) was around $160 per person....so not cheap but not outrageous.
It is simple food that can often get chiefs into the most trouble, at Felix it is the opposite, it is simple, honest food done exceptionally well.
Wait staff were on the ball on a packed night, watching to see our glasses were kept full and that as we finished each course the next was ready with only a short intermission to enjoy the wine and the tile work that surrounds the bar / dinning area.
This is not a place for a business lunch or dinner, it is a place to enjoy all that is good in life, food, wine and the company of friends and family.
You need to spend nearly as much as Becca Bites on your night at Felix, but you can rest assured that at whatever price point you are comfortable with, you will enjoy your night at Felix......oh and do not miss the giant champagne buckets at each end of the bar....truly French.

Loved the specials and excited to go back to try the seafood.

My partner and I went there for lunch. The ambience is cosy and elegant. Th staff is really attentive and kind, we had french soup and the waiter proposed us to share it in 2 bowls for us. With that we had an amazing Gruyere sufflé, and also tuna&kingfish tartare.
Then for main my partner got the special of the day that was Duck Confit and I choose the Salmon fillet. Flavours were well balanced. The pomme puree as side is a top notch. Not completely full we decided to get also a Passionfruit Sufflé with coconut sorbet. The flavour just explodes in your mouth! The texture is just parfait, like eating a cloud made by the tropical fruit.
Really great experience. Thanks to the restaurant manager and all the staff!!
Memories of lunches in Paris.
Felix has a great menu; lots of options; fabulous tastes; professional old school waiters a rarity nowadays; and a wine list that is both extensive and reasonably priced. For a Sydney night out early dinner or dinner for the evening it's a great choice
5 stars for food; wine and 6 for service
We had a delicious meal, each dish a delight. The welcome and service was both professional and friendly.
Amazing service and very friendly staff. Food was absolutely stunning would highly recommend to all.
I was amazed by the fantastic food and service. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed the restaurant very much - lovely atmosphere, very polite and attentive staff and excellent food
Love going to Felix, one of my favourite restaurants. Always enjoy dining there. Food was superb, tasty and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great and staff very attentive - you've got to love a French accent in a French restaurant! Already planning my next visit!
Bastille day. Fabulous meal. Started with a glass of Ruinart. Semolina gnocchi with mushroom followed by a soufflé. My friend had the barramundi and said it was the best that she had had. Service excellent. Thank you. Merci beaucoup.
Quite possibly one of the best restaurant I have experienced! The food was amazing and the service outstanding! I enjoyed my first girls night away post baby and eating here was the highlight of the trip!
Flawless as always. Superb food, wine and service. Beautiful fit out. Highly recommend.
A favourite extravagance - great food, cocktails, service and energetic vibe. The soufflé, either as entree (cheese) and/or dessert (passionfruit) are hard to go past and the steaks are excellent. Duck confit and oh the terrine!! are likewise. One of the better value, all around finer diners for me in Sydney.
This restaurant offers French inspired dishes and food in a nicely decorated setting. Their garlic prawns are absolutely delicious and filled with flavour and fragrance. Portions are decent and you will be left feeling satisfied.
A beautiful setting that brings a piece of France into Sydney. Our waiter was highly professional and attentive. My partner ordered the minute steak which was quite pleasing. However my fillet Mignon was tough and chewy- not the texture I was expecting. The small seafood platter was a terrific way to start- the King Alaskan crab salad was divine with the toasted brioche. The cos salad with buttermilk dressing was a great accompaniment for our steaks...Just the right balance of freshness and creaminess. Had my steak been more enjoyable I definitely would have awarded 5 stars.
Excellent good, great service and a good wine list, all on a beautiful dining room. What’s not to like?
To get here on a Saturday night, you must walk past a bunch of scantily dressed ladies in a queue. Funny location for a casual and yet ‘high end’ restaurant. The service was fast and friendly, perfect for the vibe of the restaurant. Highlight: Great food and the vibe is casual. Lowlights: a solid French bistro; hard to pick fault.. Sometimes it is hard to be exceptional in a city with many choices.
I really loved the interior of this place. Absolutely beautiful and on theme, from floor to ceiling. Great ambience, can get pretty loud. Super busy when we went on a Friday night. Starter of healing prawns was nice. Duck w beetroot for a main, really disappointing :( a little tough but more than that it was jst bland and didn’t really taste like duck.. the kale and beets were tiny portion. Luckily had broccoli as a side. I’d go back for a drink at the bar but not for dinner
Great atmosphere and food is delicious! Dessert was the best meal. Dishes to get are the steak frites, and apple tarte tartin. However wish the staff were more attentive as we had to frequently get their attention.
Nestled in Sydney's Ash Street laneway, this elegant bistro’s classic French fare is perfectly matched by an extensive wine list. Felix is affectionately designed as a romantic homage to the quintessential French brasserie. Diners are charmed by its many authentic touches; like walls featuring real Parisian subway tiles, imported French chandeliers, a beautiful pewter bar and food delivered by waiters in traditional long-aprons.
😱Lizzie’s first impression: one of my favourite French restaurants I’ve tried to date.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The staff here are attentive and the food is amazing. We tried the steak and the prawns - both were fresh and tasty. They made the best steak tartare with delicious sauces that accompanied the tartare - simply Devine
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: although the ambience is great inside, this place is right next door to the Ivy which can get a bit rowdy and if you let it distract you - it may takeaway from the overall ambience
🥇Lizzie rates overall: beautiful French restaurant I’m sure I’ll be back for more
Love this place. Great atmosphere and great service. Excellent wine list and beautiful food. Well worth a visit. We had a great table right in the heart of the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Had a birthday dinner here ages ago. I was super impressed with our waiter (I forgot his name) he was very attentive and funny! The food was very good too.
I dined here on a Tuesday night with a friend. We unfortunately didn't have a booking due to other commitments but arrived at the venue and there was space available. We waited in the bar for our table to be ready for about 30 minutes before being seated. We enjoyed some French red wine while we were waiting. Once seated, we received menus, water and bread. We both ordered steak which were both cooked as we had ordered them, served with plenty of "frites" with tarragon and shallot mayonnaise and some dressed watercress. For dessert we had the vanilla creme brulee with raspberry sorbet and pistachio crumble. The dish stroke an even balance of sweet and tart flavours making it a delightful way to finish the meal. I would recommend Felix for a fancy dinner or a special occasion. Spend was $120 pp with a shared bottle of wine.
Felix Bistro Bar is located near Ivy precinct in Sydney CBD and is a part of the Merivale group. It’s a French restaurant with nice decor reminiscent of Paris. Pictured slow cooked lamb shoulder and it was delicious.
This is a little bit of Paris in the middle of Sydney - a classic noisy, slightly chaotic french bistro with great food and waiting staff with a bit of attitude.
We tried the Queensland King Prawns, steak tartare (made to order at your table) and the chicken liver pate - all fantastic.
You can order a wide selection of Australian and French wine by the 150ml or 250ml glass. We went for the Chablis which was served at the right temperature.
Our only complaint was that they stuck us in the corner on a table with an led light that flickered from time to time but not in a nice way.
Give it a go.
Food was really good especially the steak, fishes and desserts and was affordable. Also, the ambience was fantastic.
We will definitely come again.
One of my fav restaurants in the Wynyard area and I always enjoy the food and atmosphere there. Service was great as per usual and food was very tasty.
This time around we had the oysters to start along with the Sear Peppered Tuna. The oysters were as expected, but the Peppered Tuna was amazing!
Mains we ordered the Grilled Ocean Trout, which was probably a little overcooked, but very nice still and we had the Duck leg (special ), which was very well cooked and very tasty.
Delicious French cuisine. Very alive environment and very friendly staff. Worth to visit and enjoy the dinner.Decor is fabulous and asthetic.
Started with a drink in the bar area. When our table was ready we perused the menu and decided to run with the soup of the day which was a mushroom with spatchcock. It was incredible.
Then rather than have a main we went on with two more entrees. The pate. Sensational. Then the soufflé. To die for.
The wine list is vast. Tough decision but we had a burgundy. Really nice drop. Then to finish the tarte tatine. I couldn’t even try it I was done. However I understand it was probably not as good as last time.
Situated on Ash Street within the Ivy complex, Felix offers Sydneysiders an escape to the backstreets of Paris. In an atmosphere that’s both lavish and charming, every detail has been considered to create a wonderful dining experience in all aspects of food, service and ambience. With an extensive menu full of French classics done exceptionally well, just make sure you leave room for
I had dinner at Felix with a colleague after work one evening. Fabulous ambience and it just looks terrific.
We both had the lamb pie which was very good and we shared a bottle of wine. It’s beautifully presented and a very nice dish overall. Service was also attentive without being excessive.
Its a great restaurant and its priced accordingly. I didn’t mind that on the food but I just found the mark-ups on their wine list frightening.
Perfect for special occasions, Felix Bistro is my go to for a lovely French dining experience with top notch meals and excellent customer service. I always get the steak tartare and this dish is the perfect way to. start the meal. We also decided on the terrine which had a great balance of flavours. My parents ordered the lamb pie and quail and both were generous portions. Thank you Felix Bistro for always leaving us full and with a smile. Already can't wait for our next visit.
An excellent restaurant with a great customer service. The waiter welcomed us warmly and provided a butler-class service. We ordered the beef tartare, chicken pate and veal for the two of us. The beef tartare did not quite live up to our expectations however the chicken pate and veal were delicious. Our recommended wines complimented our dishes very well. Definitely would recommend everyone to try it out.
What a beautiful meal we had at Felix last night, we had the garlic prawns, steak tartare and the gorgeous pate and really enjoyed each dish. Loved that the tartare came with extra condiments, mustards etc to add to this already beautiful dish.
We then had the spatchcock and the lamb pie which was my favourite of the night - the spatchcock was so juicy and tender and the pies lamb filling was as delicious as the pastry that surrounded it. This was all enjoyed with a lovely bottle of French Grenache that was perfectly matched.
We managed to squeeze in dessert, usually my least favourite course but the Valronha chocolate and hazelnut tart with yogurt sorbet rocked my world! The passionfruit soufflé with coconut sorbet was beautiful too.
The ambiance, good service and wine list will mean we will return on each visit to Sydney. Do yourself a favour and go now!
Not many worlds are required for such a restaurant..... Classy, Impeccable Service with some of the best French food you will ever eat.
Do your self a favour if in Sydney check this place out.😎✌️
We dined at Felix for a dinner And loved the food, ambience and service, turnaround was very good and staff were very friendly. The only issue was with the chicken which was a bit salty, because of that 4.5 to 4.7 is a fair rate. We will definitely consider going back.
It is a nice restaurant in the Sydney CBD.
Nice ambience and their service was very attentive.
Food was great as everyone mentioned here.
I ordered the steak tartare, I was a bit confused how should I mix the meat and condiments, but a waiter came back to offer if she could help for it.
The price is on the higher side, but the portion size is large, not a small portion in the middle of a large plate.
We couldn’t have dessert ... we shouldn’t order side dishes for our main plate.
Came on a Friday evening at 7pm.
Firstly, it is so easy to book online via their website. You get a confirmation text and maybe even a phone call. Such nice service.
Great atmosphere. There is nothing like entering a buzzing restaurant with great vibes and friendly staff. It felt like a piece of Paris in Sydney.
We loved the diverse menu - lots from the land and sea. Extensive wine list with lots of range from Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Ordered the smaller Seafood platter and a soup as our entrees, and 4 mains. No sides or desserts, and this was plenty of food. See our pictures for what we ate, everything was divine.
$500 total for 4 people. Probably could have spent more but we were full by the time the dessert menu came.
Would definitely come here again :)
The passionfruit soufflé served with coconut sorbet is a must try here! Tastes just delicious.
The service was very good and everything was explained well to me.
The beef tartare was well prepared, a variety of sources were given for you to add in. I went with the waitress's recommendation and it went well.
The chicken-liver has a good texture, but the toast provided was probably too small. Added fries to get away with the remaining dish.
Overall, great experience, would recommend to try (at least the soufflé)
Food is great, the seafood is fresh, and the wine menu is absolutely excellent. The service here is sometimes lacking - the front is sometimes unattended - I’ve had to wait to be seated for a long time (even with a reservation!)
I have been in Felix feel times now. My first time, everything was great! Recent visits though it feels like it is a bit going down on taste and service. Maybe they are more busier than ever, but I remember I was blown away by their cheese soufflé first time last year. I haven’t got the same perfection on soufflé this year! It was barely cheese-y.. Their plating used to be more meticulous, it seems not anymore! If they are not careful, it would be a loss of one of the good French restaurant in Sydney. Let’s hope not so and think it would gather itself and be perfect as it used to be.
Really fantastic. I was hesitant about this place after reading some bad reviews mainly about the food being unimpressive but we loved all the dishes we got. Some were truly out of this world - the chicken liver pate and prawn entrees and the profiteroles for dessert. I saw a few tables unable to finish the tart tartine and I’d love to go back and give that a shot as it looked amazing. The service was good too so the only real fault is the noise coming from the club next door which means you have to yell to talk to whomever you’re with. I think they’re owned by the same owner so not sure why they’d think that doof doof added to the ambience, that’s what took off the last star for me. Otherwise fantastic.
Love this place. Great location, to me, has a real old school vibe to it. Service is fantastic. Very professional as one would expect. Friendly staff. Even when I didn't have a booking they were willing to fit me in on a busy week day lunch.
I had the steak which was phenomenal along with some oysters and glass of wine.
Would highly recommend this place for small groups, intimate dinners, great time.
Definitely one my favourite French restaurants so far. We had the chicken liver pate - there was unfortunately not enough bread for the amount they give us!, twice baked gruyere soufflé, and roasted duck breast. The entrees and mains were done well, but it was the dessert that blew us away. The profiteroles were amazing - one of the best desserts I’ve had. The place also has a lovely ambience and the service was prompt and friendly.
First thing's first, the service here is awesome. I wouldn't expect less from one of the finer restaurants in the city. They are all vastly knowledgeable about the menu and wine menu, and are kind and welcoming.
I read about the fixed price menu and I had just happened to arrive at the right time. For a three course meal, $60 was quite a bargain!
We started with the gruyere souffle. I've had a few savoury souffles before and I've never particularly liked them because they tend to get sickening, and this unfortunately was no different. It's essentially a block of warm cheese. The watercress is bitter and it cuts through the cheese but I did find myself reaching for the bread to finish it off.
For mains, we had the fish of the day (snapper) and the duck breast. The fish is served with a side of chopped pickled onions and olives and roasted tomato. It's quite a simple dish, and if I had only ordered that with a starter then I wouldn't be full. I realised when I remembered that the waiter had offered a side. The duck breast is served pink with some marinated vegetables. It was quite like cutting through some steak and I enjoyed that. It was just tender and the skin was a crispy.
For dessert, we had the profiteroles and Fontainebleau. The profiteroles are filled with scoops of ice cream, served with salted caramel and warm chocolate. Amazing. The Fontainebleau reminded me of a melted cheesecake.
The bistro itself is nicely old-fashioned with it's red and beige colour scheme and dim lighting. I also liked the open kitchen spaces, so it didn't seem so tightly packed inside. A good place for a date night.
A very popular restaurant with great service and professionally cooked delicacy. Every dish is fantastic. The dessert is my favorite part among the whole experience, especially for the passionfruit soufflé. The soufflé is highly recommended! The apple tart and the lamb shoulder also! I have been there for many times and each was enjoyable.
Only negative to the night was the seafood platter. Was $150, platter that looked a little lacking and expensive for what it was.
My muscle basquaise was so tasty. Loved the sauce at the bottom, tasted so good with the crusty bread. The lamb was cooked perfectly, tried some and it was so tender.
The apple tarte tatin was so good! We could have shared it between the three of us even though it says for two. Passion fruit soufflé was light, sweet and fragrant. Both very good desserts.
Great dining experience here, service is on point! They top up our wine at the right moments, clear the dishes and wipe the crumbs. Really can’t wait for my next visit.
Magical experience... one of my fave restaurants
Truly exquisite food, ambience and atmosphere.
Staff are experienced in wine selection for all budgets

An absolutely beautiful experience from decor, to service, food and wine. Have been here twice and loved it all.
Once stepping inside you feel like you’ve left Sydney and stepped into a giant version of the small bistros in Paris.
This is definitely a place for celebrating and special occasions.
The service, traditional French food and amazing wine list are truly fantastic.
We enjoyed everything we ate from the Steak Tartare (prepared to eat right in front of you), Terrine, Duck and John Dory through to the delish desserts.
The wines were great too, and with a sommelier on hand to help guide you through the massive wine list, you can’t go wrong.
Solid 4.5/5 restaurant in Sydney!!
We had steak tartare, finish tartare, soufflé and the snow peas salad as entree. I have to admit that all of us were impressed by the cheese soufflé - the taste of cheese was rich but light at the same time!! Definitely one of the dishes that we will order next time.
I had market fish as main, but others had the steak and vegetarian main option. I would say the steak is the best - cooked just nice, meat was tender and sauce was mouthful. My fish main was ok by itself, but the tomatoes on side impressed me a lot! Tomato was cooked with garlic and was so juicy!!
Definitely coming back to this restaurant!!
Felix are certainly efficient - a horde of early dinner concert-goers were seated, served, fed & finished in time for 7pm Xmas carols.
Had the Prix Fixe menu. Cheese souffles entrees were tasty. Mains (rainbow trout & lamb) were a bit bland & didn't come with much so we also ordered sides. The lamb was also very rare. I'm always too embarrassed to ask at posh restaurants if the meat is rare because they can be snobby about it, but I should have. The desserts - choc mousse & profiteroles - were hugely rich, as expected.
Overall we had a nice meal, the staff were attentive considering how busy they were & I'm happy I've finally eaten at Felix after walking past so many times. French bistro isn't my personal favorite food but that's my problem, not theirs. I wouldn't rush back but I can understand why it's deservedly popular.
Expectations were high for this place, lots of glowing reviews & has been on my list for ages. At first glance the decor & open front give it a very French feel, it's locale in the back alley also adds to that charm. The food were all exceptional, from the bread to start, to entree of cheese soufflé & seared tuna, to mains of steak tartare & the rump steak, to the sides of fries & salad, to the dessert of hazelnut & chocolate tart. Everything were great, no duds. My favourite was the choc tart, smooth smooth chocolate filling, the pastry was very crumby. Service however was random, firstly they were inattentive, left us there for ages before we could get some one to take our order. Then when there were food, they were so eager to just clear the table, before we even finish the plate! Also took my cocktail too while there were a third still left. The bathroom was also a major let down. Overall I still liked the food, but not exactly rushing back again.
We had a booking for 6.15pm, we arrived 20 minutes and they had our table ready. Our waiter Darren provided us with fantastic service. He even shared in a few jokes with us. He took his time explaining the menu to us. The food was delicious, steak was cooked perfectly, the fish was very moist and tasty.
Dinner with a few girl friends and we immensely enjoyed our spread.
kingfish tartare and gruyere soufflé to share, a main each (entrecôte steak and lamb pies mainly) and the apple tart Tatin dessert to share (we aren't big eaters). Photos below.
Service was efficient, nice ambience overall lovely experience. Highly recommend !!
Came here on a Friday night and the placed was packed, thank God we made reservations beforehand. Ordered the onion soup for appetizer and it was very delicious, the soup tasted just right, was not too salty, not too sweet, the melted cheese and the bread added an extra crunch to it, however wished there was more onions.
for the mains, we ordered the grilled salmon and the wagyu steak. The salmon was crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside, was cooked to perfection, the pea salad was also very nice. The wagyu beef was also nice as it was not too dry. The beans (side dish) was also cooked perfectly, love the addition of pine nuts.
Will definitely come back for more.
Absolutely cannot fault my visit to Felix. From the moment I stepped into the door I was made to feel welcome and as if I was in for an amazing experience.
We had the steak tartare, the gruyere souffle, the plat du jour of steak with chips and cauliflower on the side as well as profiteroles for dessert.
Our waiter was French and had the best sense of humour and I felt like I was in Paris eating at a bistro. Highly recommend!
The fit out is amazing. It really feels like you're in Paris. The staff are all lovely and very attentive. We let the sommelier choose our wines and he was spot on. Unfortunately the food is only okay. I found everything too salty, particularly the chips which were too salty to eat.
I would probably go again just for the amazing service.
Great food, good service, the place is a bit hidden but the street is beautiful. We went on a Tuesday night and isn't was very busy, but they manage to find a table for us even though we had no reservation.
I waited to try this place for so long. It's bit hard to book. Really friendly staff. The food quality does not equal to its price. I've had better French bistro food in sydney. Didn't quite understand what was the fuss about. The tartare was okay but when you mixed with mayo type of sauce it was just bit too rich. Beef cheek was sauced too much which I feel it tries to cover the quality of the meat. Desert... this parfait is not nice at all for 20aud was not worth it. Over all presentation of food was not as pretty. Also the restaurant was so loud that I had to shot the whole night to my friend who sits opposite to me. Good that I've tried here but probably won't be back soon.
Food was really good. Staff friendly. Service good. Food was tasty. Generic review for a superb restaurant! I was there for a business meeting but plan on going back with family and friends

Felix is a nice casual fine dining bar and bistro in the CBD owned by merivale, we ordered their lamb as well as this profiterole ice cream dessert which chocolate sauce, so decadent and delicious
The appetisers were delicious - oysters were fresh and had some tasty accompanying sauces. The tartares were presented beautifully and well-flavoured. The salmon was pretty good too but the appetisers were definitely a highlight.
My partner and I visit Felix on every big occasion we have and we absolutely love the place. The ambiance is amazing and everything is authentically French, which we appreciate. The food is superb, and we always order the Jacks Creek with a few entree's and we're absolutely stuffed by the end!
However, since visiting we have noticed that the quality hasn't been on par to when we visited in 2015, and the portions have been getting smaller whilst the price has steadily increased. We do still visit Felix frequently as we still can't fault the service and food!
I at at Felix last week the restaurant was packed, but the wait staff was very friendly. We got a table luckily, and sat outside. The atmosphere was vibrant and warm, the interior is very European and relaxing. We ordered vegetable gnocchi and the grain fed sirloin for mains and a side of mash potato. The waiter brought out some warm multigrain sour dough on the house and our mains came our 10 minutes later. The food was amazing and the mash potato was definitely smooth and tasted delicious, the best I have had! I also ordered the dessert as I was so impressed, we ordered the Valrhona chocolate tart it was great, we also eyed of the profiteroles on the table next to us, they looked amazing. The services was great and priced reasonably.
Listed as a sophisticated Parisian-style brasserie featuring French cuisine, wines and luxe desserts. It did not disappoint.
Cutely tucked away in the Ash St laneway, great atmosphere, great food and the wait staff have a real sense of customer service.
I enjoyed the steak frites and sirloin, cooked to perfection and left with a real contentment.
A new favourite.
Personally, I find that most restaurants and cafes in Sydney serve average food because they have a heavy and long menu and they tried to serve as many kinds of food as they could. A Malaysian restaurant could sell everything from stir fried dishes to Hainanese chicken rice
In Italy, you don't see a pizzeria sell spaghetti. In Tokyo, you don't see a Hakata Ramen restaurant sell Shio ramen. In Singapore or Malaysia, there are street hawkers selling two or three kinds of dishes for 40 or 50 years. This allows the chefs to perfect their crafts.
I appreciate Felix Bistro for having a much smaller range but nicer and tastier food. The king crab salad and passion fruit soufflé were excellent. You would not know they were from Sydney and not Paris.
The mains - Pork Belly - was dry and tough. I would try another mains on another occasion.
Nice French restaurant with good service. We ordered the beef for two and it was way too much meat, leaving us too full for desserts. I did have the profiteroles last time I visited and it was delicious. It's different to what you would expect, but better. I definitely think the fish dishes are better than the beef though.
With my love of French food, I was much anticipating my visit to Felix for lunch. The steak tartare was outstanding. The duck breast was unfortunately and bizarrely chewy. My colleagues ordered the steaks and said that they were amazing. The desserts of valrhona mousse and profiteroles were really good. Service was friendly. Fitout is nice but unfortunately it is really noisy.
Felix is one of my faves as it ticks all of the boxes. My most recent visit was Saturday night, for which I had organised a Hens Party at the venue, because I knew the food would be fantastic and the ambience just right.
Firstly apologies to our fellow diners for the noise and a huge thank you to the staff who looked after us amazingly.
As a large group we were given the set menu. Such good value with a great selection to choose from. Three courses for $94, including delights such as half a dozen oysters, gruyere soufflé and king crab quinoa salad to choose for entree. All were divine! The mains menu included steak, lamb, fish and the most delicious gnocchi. For dessert, profiteroles, cheese and chocolate tart... really what more could you want!
Thanks again Felix, such a fun evening with such great food!
Went here for dinner on a Saturday night because the place we had booked to go to originally had terrible service. Walked in and were given a table straight away even though they were very busy! They were very welcoming and the service was great. Great atmosphere and absolutely INCREDIBLE food!!! The flavours were to die for!! (I had the salmon which was one of the best I've ever had and my mom had the gnocchi - although it wasn't classic Italian gnocchi it was a delicious interpretation!) loved how they give you a bread basket as soon as you sit down - reminds me of being back in Europe :) Absolutely loved this place!
Definitely worth a visit. Location is in the CBD. Food and wine was tantalizingly good. Ambiance was what you would expect from an establishment of its status. Staff were extremely friendly and added so much value to the overall experience.
This is up there with the best French Bistro's on Sydney. This restaurant is comparable to any good Bisro in Paris. With its stylish decor, the quality food on offer and the drinks list.
I have eaten here a few times and it is cosistenly good. They have a small army of staff busily working the kitchen and the floor. The service was very professional, as to be expected in this type of establishment. We stopped in for the prix fix menu on this occasion, which is such good value dining.
We ordered the gruyère souffle, this entree was light and fluffy with great texture and flavour.
We ordered the confit lamb shoulder with red wine jus caramelised onion and paris mash. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender, the caramelised onion sweet and combined well with the jus. The mash was devine, the best I have had in Australia. Smooth and rich, Very decadent. No doubt a decent amount of butter and cream used.
One of our dining companions ordered the wood grilled Salmon and raved how nice and delicate it was.
We shared a couple of the desserts. The Valrhona chocolate tart with coffee mousse, hazelnuts and a cocoa nib tuile. A rich chocolate tart combined with a deicious quinelle of coffee mousse. We also shared the profiteroles with salted caramel, vanilla ice cream and the theatrics of the hot chocolate sauce being poured at the table. This too was delicous, with great textures and a contrast of temperatures; Cold ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.
If you haven't dined in a Paris bistro and are after a similar dining experience, this is the place to visit.
Delicious French Bistro and bar is located just next to The ivy, the most famous night out place in Sydney.
Felix designed very elegant, classy and romantic.
I had Lamb pie which was very delicious, the meat was fresh, tender and juicy! I'd like to recommend to try Lamb here to all of my friends who doesn't like it.hehe It didn't have strong texture and a gamey flavor!
Lamb steak as a main which the staff recommendation was just the right for me and satisfied.
And defs better enjoy meal with wine!! I recommend you to ask the staff which with match with the dishes you order.
Felix is good place to chill with friends and for the occasion.
Really friendly service here. The ambience of the restaurant mimics a French Bistro so you feel like you're in Paris. Part of the Merivale group it is French cooking done well. I had the Herb Gnocchi, Roasted Duck Breast, Pomme Purée, and Passionfruit Soufflé With Coconut Sorbet. All in all it was a delicious meal and felt like a gastronomical trip through French cooking.
My partner and I frequent Felix when we're craving delicious French food complete in a beautiful, buzzing atmosphere. The ambiance is just amazing - you truly feel as though you are sitting in a restaurant in Paris, served by delightfully friendly and polite waiters. If you're sitting by the window on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll also get a little giggle with your friends or loved ones whilst you watch young people stumbling to get into the Ivy bar upstairs.
I've been here a couple of times and have tried a lot of the items on the menu. I personally find some of the main dishes a bit heavier and less flavoursome as the items listed under the entrees and charcuterie. Our go to dishes are now the:
Hand cut steak tartare (in main portion)
Such fresh, delicious and tasty steak tartare. The textures involved in dish work so perfectly together, and the mustard and worcester sauce gives it that kick of flavour.
Warm salad paysanne with bacon, ham hock, green beans, confit potato, sourdough croutons and soft boiled duck eggs
This salad is also so delicious in terms of flavour. The dressing in this salad is a personal favourite and the eggs, bacon, potato and beans work perfectly.
Chicken liver paté with currant relish, cornichons and toasted brioche
One of the best Chicken liver pates I've ever tried! If you're a big pate lover make sure to order this dish! You definitely cannot go wrong.
Délicieux!
I was pleased with my experience at Felix tonight. Firstly you cannot go past just how beautiful the restaurant is, tucked away in a small alleyway with both outdoor and indoor dining. It really does have this beautiful European feel to it. The mood lighting definitely sets the scene for a nice romantic dinner or just a great elegant catch up with friends.
The service was on point with all of the waiters/waitresses dressed nicely on black and white. Our waiter had a French accent, as did a lot of the waiters so this definitely added to the authenticity of the experience.
As for the food, it was great. The oysters were fresh and the charcuterie plate had duck liver pate that was truly divine.
For our mains we ordered the duck and the sirloin, both cooked really well. We thoroughly enjoyed that alongside out pumpkin and quinoa salad. Can I just emphasise that the pumpkin purée that came with the duck was phenomenal. I am a mash potato person but would happily eat this pumpkin purée as a substitute any day.
The alcohol selection was great, and we particularly enjoyed the Felix Bellini.
For dessert we finished with the passion fruit soufflé which was just amazing.
Really worth the higher price tag (came to about $100 for each of us including alcohol).
Great place and nice staffs. The triple cooked chips with tarragon and shallots mayo very yum. Wood grilled king salmon, cauliflower puree, crushed peas and parsley-cauliflower puree very smooth and creamy.
Cone bay barramundi with french style peas, bacon, caramelised onions and white wine veloute. Barramundi is juicy.
Great ambience with pretty amazing food! We got the salmon and steak frites as mains both cooked to perfection. For dessert - profiteroles and passion fruit soufflé. The soufflé was super fluffy and soft, I'm not a fan of passion fruit but this dessert wasn't too overpowering with that which was good and the coconut sorbet complimented it well. Definitely would come back to try more from the menu it's just a bit hard to have a conversation without yelling over across the table.
Beautiful food, but slight mismatch between casual bistro and fine dining... The paper menus and abbreviated drinks menu in a plastic sheath are at odds with the amazing food and the exhaustive wine list of many and varied vintages from both France and Australia. The service is excellent, and I can't rate the sirloin for 2 to share highly enough... Amazing!

Incredible! Fantastic service and amazing food! I had the Barramundi with a side of the broccolini and quinoa salad, both were impeccable!
Food is delicious. The menu changes a bit but there is always something delicious to try. The service is good. We enjoy the ambience and the wine list too. Always a favourite to take friends too as well. If there is more than 2 of you, ask for a bigger table otherwise they may attempt to squish you onto a smaller table, which makes ordering sides very uncomfortable.
I love the atmosphere at Felix. It is luxury and vibrant - at times a little too noisy to carry out conversation with your mates sitting across the table. Food is great, no surprises. Sides are interesting and I would recommend trying a couple to share. Portion sizes are small - like most other French restaurants - to allow some room for dessert. The apple tartin with cinnamon ice cream was absolutely delicious! Staff are generally nice, some rather pompous.
Ordered the blue eyed cod, king crab and prawn salad, side salad of broccoli quinoa feta, chips and apple tarte tartin. Everything was enjoyable but have had just as nice food for less elsewhere. However ambience was nice and service great so that justifies the slight increase for me.
My favorite 'fancy' restaurants are the ones where you don't feel out of place having a belly laugh during dinner. This is why I love Felix! Its interior is beautiful, the staff are professional yet relaxed and the menu is a perfect representation of the classic French bistro. I always choose to go here for special occasions and can't wait to go back.
Tres bien!
Love this place.
One of Sydney's best.
Impossible to have a bad time here!
Well worth making a visit, frequently!

Amazing wine too, you won't leave thirsty
Felix Bistro & Bar is a romantic place to dine. The atmosphere, food and service all make you feel very special. My husband and I have a regular date night here and start with drinks at the bar. The menu has variety but not too much that you are overwhelmed, the service is always on point, considerate and the staff are knowledgable of both food and wine. The food is always well made, my husband is a huge fan of the steak and I always order seafood - these are two that although simple, not always easy to get right. No surprise we were there for Valentines Day, my favourite part of the night was the dessert, Champagne Jelly with berries and sorbet. Magnifique!!! Felix is our favourite place to date in Sydney...
After hearing about their amazing Prix Fixe menu, for a celebratory dinner, we decided to visit Felix Bistro and Bar and try out their fabulous European cuisine for ourselves!. We decided to dine from the Prix Fixe menu, which is a two or three course pre-theatre dining experience. There was a great selection of 4 different entrees, mains and desserts, and plenty of options for all different tastes and preferences.

Really enjoyed the ambience and setting of this place. Great decor that has you believing you might possibly be in France
Staff were wonderful and attentive at every instance. Food was wonderfully presented and cooked.
Service is good on a busy night.
The mains that we had was the steak ($90 for two people). It was flavorsome. But the meat was quite tough. It says 40 minute wait so i thought the meat is going to melt in your mouth. It didn't have the 'yuuuuum' factor. It was ok.
The atmosphere is busy and noisy.
We'll might try again with a different main.
It'll be a while though.
Another restaurant participated at the Merivale event. I had Sydney Oysters with mignonette sauce. It was so amazing, it was fresh and sauce was just perfect. I had to go for seconds. My hubby had loose beef Pattie and fries on burger which he enjoyed, it was well thought out burger, cooked well and with tasty brioche buns.
Felix Bistro has a nice ambient. Service is excellent and of course the food is great! Try the chicken liver pâté and passion fruit soufflé. They're fantastic! I would love to come back again.

Popped in for a late night snack recently I had the king crab, prawn, eggplant, quinoa and pickled beetroot salad with a side of fries. Sensational as always and our Gwenyth Paltrow look-alike waitress was outstandingly attentive. This still remains one of my favourite Sydney restaurants.
I took my girlfriend to Felix for her birthday. As we walked through the door, it instantly felt like we had arrived in Paris. After studying the menu for some time, we decided to order the king crab, prawn, eggplant, quinoa and pickled beetroot salad, and of course, the hand cut steak tartare. The salad was lovely and light, and the seafood so very fresh. The steak tartare was clean, and served with accompaniments and a perfectly crunchy crouton, another great dish to start. We then decided on the herb crusted lamb shoulder and Berkshire pork cutlet for mains, with a side of roasted cauliflower, spring onion, goats cheese and mint - an all-round exceptional combination. Although only a side, the roasted cauliflower was easily a stand out for us. How could we finish on anything else other than the apple tarte tatin with creme fraiche and cinnamon ice cream? Although very delicious, also very rich, so make sure you have your water close by. A truly enjoyable night.
A 1-hat restaurant, we found Felix to be most probably the best seafood and steakhouse in Sydney.
Felix boasts a short but well written menu of seafood 🦞 and steak 🥩 selections, it has an extensive wine list to match the menu. French bistro style concept but of the highest quality. Reservations required for dinner as it is usually full in the evenings.
Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
We had ordered a lot dishes for two people and we had a great night.
Food overall was delicious, especially the kingfish was outstanding. Service was good and friendly too. The restaurant is a bit noisy so that’s the downside as you sometime can’t hear the person across you well.
I hope they will add more variety to the menu.
Great ambience, excellent service, nice cocktail and amazing food. I’ve been to this place many times over the years and enjoyed it every time. A little bit pricy but definitely worth it. Please leave room for desserts, which will make the grand finale for the night. Highly recommended.

Had my husband’s birthday dinner at Felix, great environment, wine mesh is amazing. Love the steak, must order item from the menu! Will visit again next month.
Felix has again lived up to its high standards and matching expectations of the diners. The food and service were absolutely superb. Highlights of the meal were the T-Bone and the whole duck (note duck pie and profiteroles not coeliac friendly, but looked amazing). Warm gluten free bread is always appreciated for a coeliac.
A classic French bistro with a great ambience. Food was great too. The highlights were probably the steak frites and steak tartare (served table side). The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, with a side of French fries. However, I felt that service was a bit rushed and every item was on the pricey side.
Probably the best oysters I’ve ever had. All the seafood was super fresh. Impeccable friendly service. On the pricey side but worth it for a special treat. Cannot fault the food at all (and that doesn’t happen very often with me )
Impeccable food, just as you would expect at this price point, Felix is the kind of place you go to when you want to celebrate a milestone. Service is top notch and the wine list is endless, so definitely make use of the highly qualified and very helpful sommeliers to really elevate your experience!
