Review Chefs Gallery - Sydney

Paolo B
Overall we really enjoyed the food. Our favourite dishes were the Dan Dan Noodles, Beetroot noodles with mushrooms and the water spinach. The salt and pepper calamari were well below average with very small pieces of calamari that were tough and chewy. Service was below average, not attentive. The dishes we did like would make it worth going back for.

The noodle dish has too much sauce. The fried eggplant sauce was too sweet. The spring roll was nothing special. Overall the food was very ordinary. Prices were reasonable but the visa card fee was too much. No good reason to revisit.

I must say their cooking is above average. The lobster stew with green onion and ginger (葱姜龙虾煲) is a highlight. But if you’re confident enough to seat your customer at the bar seats and display the kitchen, maybe try cleaning the bench top more often. Also the hostess wasn’t all welcoming. She told us that we three had to sit at the bar or wait for another 30 minutes when it was clearly not very busy. In fact another waiter soon helped us to move to a proper table instead.

Good service. Excellent fried rice and noodles, fair side dishes and dumplings. Quite high portions for average sharing proportions.

The food is very delicious and good portions. My partner and I love the Shandong chicken and Singapore noodles alot. Highly recommend to try this dish. Although there is less wait staffs post lockdown but still have decent customer service 👍

Food was okay, but the service got me thinking maybe I shouldn’t go back… Our table was nice to the waiters there but they all seemed cranky. I know working on Saturday late could be such a pain, but we were nice, the least they could do is serve us without showing attitudes.

Very convenient location. The staff was nice and the food was absolutely delicious. Some real flavours there.

Good food menu and lots of choices of hand made noodles is available. The presentation, service and taste of food is awesome.Highly recommended👍

The pork sliders are always a good option here. They also have a pretty good sweet and sour pork. My favorite last night though was the cheese roti. Dip them in some soy and chili and you won’t be able to stop eating them. Good consistent option

While the excitement of the colourfully illustrated Chefs Gallery menu continues to be their hand-stretched noodles and dim sum, there’s still value to be had in consuming a more standard Chinese meal.I’ve been visiting Kaisern Ching’s flagship Town Hall restaurant for a decade. To keep things fresh, the décor has had regular updates over that time period. The most recent update draws upon the pale salmon pinks of Spring, with the cabinets of Chinese artefacts and wall art giving way to floral arrangements. To stay...

A modern Chinese restaurant with innovative dishes and lots of flavour 😋 I thought the dishes were unique. It was so hard to pick from the menu, so many things to try! I recommend going with a group of 3-4 so you can try more dishes, it was just my boyfriend and I, so we had to squeeze in 5 dishes 🙈⠀<br/><br/>🍔 Fairy floss mini burgers ($18)⠀<br/>🍜 Spicy Wonton noodles ($20)⠀<br/>🦆 Peking duck roti ($18)⠀<br/>🥩Black pepper Wagyu ($38)⠀<br/>🍮Truffle creme brulee ($16)⠀<br/>⠀<br/>The Peking duck Roti was definitely a winner, it was a fusion of the Peking duck that I love and the texture of roti. I wanted to try to burgers because it seemed interesting, the buns were like fried bao buns and the meat was juicy - it is a messy dish to eat (you were warned). The black pepper wagyu was very tender and delicious. The wonton noodles were so nice, I loved the spicy flavour which had a bit of sweetness to it. The truffle creme brulee was something we ordered out of interest, it was yummy - never had anything like it before. <br/><br/>Bf review: Very good. The black pepper beef was real good <br/><br/>👋Follow my foodie adventures on Instagram @hungriestsam

Located across from town hall station at regent place, chef gallery makes excellent hand made noodles. They have a window so you can watch them make the noodles. Love that they have bench seatings to allow people dining alone to go. Pricing point is slightly on the high side- but seems to be the norm here is Sydney.

Authentic Chinese food presented by foreign chefs, fancy interior decor, and long queue all the time. I love the creative ways they cook Chinese cuisines!

I hadn’t been to Chef’s Gallery in a couple of years and we decided to go there for lunch today. The food is always good and they are just so efficient. Perfect for a work lunch as you are not waiting forever. They make a mean Gin & Tonic too! #chefsgallery

I came here on a Monday for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The beautiful interior design really captured my intention. The wall art and flowers are a really nice touch. I really liked how you could see the chefs making the food in the kitchen because of the glass wall. I ordered the seafood spinach noodles and they were delicious. The beautiful colour of the handmade noodles was special. I felt very satiated after eating it. We shared a tofu platter which was also very delicious. <br/><br/>I would definitely come here again next time I am in the city. The only let down for me was the service. The waiters often said that they would come back later and could not help you on the spot. Some of the waiters were not very friendly and asked me to repeat what I had to say many times which did not make me feel very comfortable. <br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 6/10

Came here ages ago and remembered the food being so good that I had to come back again. Thankfully my memory served me well and I was thoroughly impressed once again by the dishes at Chefs Gallery. Food is a little on the pricey side but well worth it if you're willing to fork out for a nice night.<br/><br/>If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

The cleanness of toilet was terrible.<br/>The food is always good. Great noodles&wanton.<br/>We love it. Hope it'll be better in the future.

We had our birthday here and they told us it’s $10 for the cake and we agreed with it. and while we have the cake the waitress came 3 times telling us it’s $10 and we have to keep telling them yes we know and we are happy to pay for it. They tried to come for the 4th time and I had to say can you please let us cut and enjoy the cake? Communication is very off . Had a bad birthday experience

For how fancy the restaurant looks and how good the food tastes, Chef's Gallery is a gem of a find! The restaurant boasts it's handmade noodles so we went all in on trying it out.<br/><br/>I tried out the beef brisket and mince noodles (HN07) and unlike the packaged stuff most other places use, you can really notice the difference from the extra bite they gave. The brisket was very tender and the mince in the oily broth coating each noodle was delicious. The spice level was just right for me and when you spread the broth amongst all the noodles, it mellowed out to a very enjoyable level.<br/><br/>The seafood with spinach noodles (HN01) was also quite nice and if you like seafood, you're going to absolutely love this one as you get a good variety along with the spinach noodles which were also quite tasty. However, we ordered 2 of this dish and one of them came out cold which wouldn't have been a major problem but the noodles get quite tough when they cooled down so that was a shame.<br/><br/>All in all, Chef's Gallery is a great dinner provided you don't mind the wait to get into the restaurant. The food was great, especially for the price and the ambience really helped to kick things up a notch!

They forgot one of our orders and when the food came out it’s was slightly over salted. But the dish in the photo was really good. Friend and I really enjoyed their eggplant fries
T
love going to this place for their spinach noodles and dumplings. the food is really good for the price and it’s cool we get to see the chefs make the noodles

I am not bothered with the long line. Staffs are very nice and patient. Food served quite fast. I find the place noisy every time I visit here but It is fine because this is a good restau for catching up with friends and family. Good menu selection. Recommendation: seafood spinach noodles (first photo) nice blend taste of sweetness and saltiness. Good serving of seafood in the dish. I always recommend this restau with my friends and colleagues.
Caroline
Food here is very yummy. Always have a long queue but well worth the wait. My go to dish is the green noodle and the tofu. Huge menu selections as well, which suits big group dining.

It was the first time I've been to this chefs gallery and I dont regret it! <br/><br/>My favourite dishes were the Peking duck roti rolls and the Handmade spinach noodles with seafood. The noodles were nice and chewy with a nice flavoured sauce. Id come back just to get this. You also have views of the chef rolling noodles in the kitchen so its guarantee freshness! <br/><br/>The mixed dumplings and mango pancake dessert was okay.

Used to love it and been dine in since the year 2012 but over the times it is getting from bad to worst. <br/>Visited on a weekend for dinner bring over my friend and her family from aboard. <br/>Over the years the staff they hire are really getting lousy. Waitress who served us can’t understand English and even though we repeated and explained in a very simple and slow manner, hence we still didn’t get what we requested for. All we need was some hoi sin sauce for our duck roti and we understand that it was being rub inside the Roti before it got rolled and we only need extra and wouldn’t mind to pay for it (they love to charge EVERYTHING out of EVERYTHING. And they used to served a small sauce on the side too). <br/>In the end, Roti were cold and no hoi sin sauce gave to us. And the waitress kept walking up and down with her “I cant be bothered about your request” look. <br/>Food wise is getting terrible too. The fried rice was a big joke and the portion is ridiculously little compare to it used to be. The fried rice was colourless no presentation don’t even have appetite after looking at it my goodness!!! <br/>The pulled noodles was one of my favourite - last time but now it were badly made. It used to be a bit thinner and now it is just udon thickness. Texture is rough and tasteless even though it is stir fried. Spinach juice for the noodles looks abnormally fake as if it is from colouring.... who knows right??<br/>I know picture is just for referencing only BUT the different is too much as if you ordered a lobster but being served a baby shrimp. <br/>While we were still deciding on the dessert but outta sudden there was the bill sliding to us. <br/>Toilet is absolutely a disaster. Floor was wet and smelly. There were papers all over... even the public toilet is cleaner than here. <br/>It really ruin our day and I was telling to my friend’s family earlier that it was good, well it used to be good.<br/>Absolutely ruin our dinner. There goes the legacy for Chefs Gallery. <br/>

The infusion of flavours will rock and reward your tastebuds for the endeavour and torment that foodies have endured through the quest of finding perfect food through Haymarket.<br/><br/>Chefs Gallery blew me away with the subtle and delicate explosion of flavours with ingredients that do not always feel like they compliment each other.<br/><br/>Staff were a little absent, however the food more than made up for it.

Super long wait for food that was ok. Service was at a normal speed. Can't comment much on the dishes, personally nothing really stood out, just your average Chinese flavours.
Sancha Noranho
Loved the huge variety of food on offer. Was super busy on the Friday night that I went there but the service was really quick and prompt. If you're happy you share a table, it's easy to get one but otherwise it might be a bit of a wait.<br/>The food was delicious and did differ in flavor. Absolutely loved the dumplings and roti. However the Singapore curry noodles could use a little less curry powder. The taste of curry was quite overwhelming.<br/>Would definitely go back to try other food though.

My girlfriend and I go to this restaurant whenever we want to eat to the fullest therefore we’ve been here heaps of times already! Great quality and a very wide selection on the menu. :)
Amanda
If you order the right dishes it’s amazing! Visited 4 times and think I finally know what to order. Duck with lychee is the standout for me.
Dona S
I can still remember the taste and seasoning of their vegetarian options here ! So good !<br/>It’s a great place to go with a group of friends and order a spread to share. <br/>You’ll try the different dishes in the menu and you won’t regret your visit.<br/>The desserts were cute , emoji custard buns or the famous steamed sesame pig face. <br/><br/>
Aneta Jovanovski
Smaller menu than the parramatta store. <br/>Food is justttt as amazing. <br/>Place is a little more claustrophobic so maybe don’t bring a family here.
Sunny Chen
Amazing food. And the dumplings were soooo great! I like their style and price. It is worth to eat all of the menu!!!!!! So haaapppy. But I don’t like fried things so it’s hard to pick health food.

Cher’s Gallery is one of my favourite Chinese restaurants to dine, I have tried many dishes there and have not been disappointed. You can tell they’re popular by the long queue outside.
Lilian
Had a late lunch here with a friend. Ordered the chicken noodles, dim sim, Chinese broccoli and salt & pepper calamari. Overall the food was great though I was not a huge fan of the spices in the noodles.<br/>
Lily The Frugal Foodie
We frequent this joint a lot but the fact that their menu is always getting new items to try makes it exciting to go back.<br/><br/>We usually always order the pork and prawn wonton in spicy sauce.  This used to come as 5 pieces per serving but is now 8.  Great, more to go around!  Another dish that we always order is the mini pork sliders with fried mantou as bun. The sliders have a delicious sweet chili mayo and also pork floss, delicious!  The dish comes with 3 pieces but you can add additional, but at $5.90 a pop for each additional, it's not cheap!<br/><br/>For today's meal, we also tried the noodle soup with beef and tomato based broth. It's not as great as other soup noodles that they have. The noodles themselves are great as they're hand pulled in house, but the broth was too thick and salty for us, we asked for extra hot water to dilute it.<br/><br/>Frugal foodie tips:<br/>1. Entertainment book 25% off<br/>2. Participates in Amex shop small<br/>3. Citibank dining program where you can get wine when you dine and pay with Citibank<br/>4. Book with Dimmi to earn points towards dining voucher<br/>Note: 1, 2 and 4 can be done together

Dessert platter! So nicely made ♥ The piggies are steamed sesame buns. The totoro rabbits are marshmallows coated with desiccated coconut. The house is made of chocolate wafer biscuits. The road is made of milk powder. Plus scoops of ice cream. What a masterpiece!! It was delicious too btw.
Hayley
The lychee duck was absolutely delicious - the sour and sweetness of the sauce balances the duck flavour. The texture of the potstickers were interesting in a good way. Also recommended the bobo chicken and golden tofu, they used chicken thighs and did not include the bones, making it easy to consume; while the tofu was crispy with a burst of flavour when bitten into it. <br/><br/>They also provide a range of lunch options for diners looking for a quick homemade noodle/rice selection.
Lily
Always love coming back here for its specialty dishes. Our staple orders have been the fried beancurd, shrimp dumpling, the duck roll, green beans, spinach noodles and the dessert buns. They are very busy, so be prepared to wait for a table. Service can be better though.

Went to chefs gallery on a Sunday morning. We ordered 2 noodle dishes which were too spicy for our liking. the other dishes however were very good. We had the winter special corn soup with chinese doughnut. it was presented over a lit candle which was quite theatrical and also kept the soup nice and piping hot. the steamed dumpling platter was also very delicious. The crab spring rolls and Peking duck roti were also super tasty. Would definitely recommend :)

My go to asian whenever I get the cravings. Affordable price point and generous servings. The only downside is the terrible queues during peak times so come for an early/ late meal to avoid waiting for hours. Brought my visiting parents to have their first meal in Sydney and they absolutely loved it. Ordered the salt and pepper spinach tofu, Mongolian lamb riblets, beef tataki with Sichuan dressing and the spinach noodles with seafood. Loved every single dish, but the signature noodles are really special. Lovingly made by the chefs in front of your eyes, the noodles are springy and wok fried to perfection. Our noodles came with a generous serving of juicy prawns, squids and mussels heaped with a delicious Japanese seaweed seasoning on top for a burst of umami flavouring. We ended up ordering two servings of the noodles because we loved it that much. Highly recommended.

Remarkable dishes, highlight would be the Vanilla panna cotta with sago, it was so freaking good. I can never imagine the pan na cotta be this good in a Chinese restaurant, so light, so delicious, they nailed it. The spinach noodle with mushrooms was a little bit on the dry side, other than that everything was perfect, the duck, the fujian style fried rice and the duck seafood soup were all super delicious. Not to mention how fast the food were served to our table. 4/5 hands down!

I’ve been here to many times it’s always yummy 😋 If you feel like noodles and fabulous food just join in this restaurant. I recommend the homemade noodle with gravy sauce and seafood this is my favorite yum yum 👏🏻😊

It's a nice place with good food, I got the slow cooked beef with noodles and it tasted good enough. I would come back here again for other dishes.

A fine dinning place to have dinner with your friends / family with fast service, courteaous staff, menue having wide range ( handmade noodles 😘) and great taste<br/><br/>Venue and atmosphere (3.5/5) Place have interior and ambience condusive for a small group (2/4) and ample sitting place. Glass wall/live cooking counter will give you look at your dish as it is being prepared if you are interested. Get a glimpse of techniques used in making handmade noodles<br/><br/>Menue (4/5) Its good and variety is descent. It is dominated by Asian food items and range is good.<br/><br/>Food (4/5) one word tasty and few dishes are burning hot spicy. Do check before ordering if you do not have high tolerence for spices<br/><br/>Service (5/5) very fast . Better than most restuarents in Sydney<br/><br/>Value for money (3.5/5) : cost us around $100 for 6 people with 25% discount as we had coupon.. Descent overall<br/><br/>Overall (4/5) do give it a try<br/><br/>We ordered : hand made Noodles with prawns broth and hmn with chicken, crabs spring roll, duck salad, chicken egg fried rice and some other<br/>

I was really looking forward to dinner at this highly rated place. It was just ok. The wagyu beef in pepper sauce was good but one dimensional and the Fijian rice with blue swimmer crab and scallop was overpowered by the XO sauce and chilli. It was hard to taste the subtle crab flavour. The service wasn’t great as their priority was to collect payments and clean up so they could get out. Given the prices aren’t cheap, I expected much more.
Naiad
The food here is fine but when I was eating there was a cockroach on the table, which could be the most terrifying thing happened these few months<br/><br/>I was so scared at that time so I didn’t take a picture, I advise everyone who wants to go there consider carefully, and I hope they can do better in the future

I like the hand made noodles in soup, all noodles plates are great, I have eat them all haha, spicy salt sour pork, calamari good. The sort of naan bread, just cheese or mushroom good too. Dumplings here it’s a no no. Other plates no good, deserts very poor selection. Service is a hit and miss. U can get great service or a complete disaster. Depends on the waiter
Aimee.
This restaurant has a huge variety of all kinds of Chinese dishes. They make noodles right in front of you- I recommend the dandan noodle dish. Delicious hand made noodles with lots of seasoning and flavour. The other dishes were all really good too and well presented.
Lucy LU
I love their hand made noodle in general, but today’s service was not good. At 2PM they wouldn’t give us bigger table for 2.... 海鲜菠菜面还是可以吃吃的

Came here with high expectations and I wasn't left disappointed! The food was great and we didn't have to wait long for it. I recommend coming in a bit early if dining at night - before 6pm would be ideal, as the restaurant gets pretty full really fast. Lovely service and prices are decent. Such a wide range of foods available to suit everyone's needs. Only fault would be its a bit cramped, if you're dining with 1-2 other people. But besides that, definitely enjoyed my experience dining here.
The Hungry Hippo
Food here is great. The hand made noodles are a must. We had the spicy wonton noodles, some dim sim, a corn soup and peppered wagyu beef. All was great except the wagyu beef. It was over cooked. And pretty boring. <br/><br/>The spicy wonton noodles was my favourite. It was packed with so much flavour. Loved it. Overall, pretty damn good. Plus they have a big menu so great place to come back and try something different. <br/>
Gus
The food was amazing. Everything from the spicy duck feet (jellyfish like texture), kang kong with sambal sauce to the scallop topped tsui mai with caviar and back, this is yum char style food with a contemporary twist that really works
The Next Rush
There's no such relief when you leave your phone at a place you're out at and the staff are kindly holding on to it for you until you figure out you've lost it. For this reason I can get over the price tags of their delicious hand made noodles and inventive food creations.<br/><br/>I had the spinach noodles and they were pretty good. The prices good be better, but the service makes up for it!
Wanderlust
Food: (5/5 stars) : amazing Chinese food! Almost Everything is great tasting esp fried tofu entree, braised beef spicy noodles, pork/prawn shu mai yum Cha, wontons, mini fried pork floss burgers, pork chops, fried batter fish, and roti (they have duck, lamb, plain roti , all r excellent). Their tomato sauce noodle with beef tasted very good (tastes like a hardy American tomato soup, I liked the sauce and ingredients, but only problem was it was warm rather than hot temperature, so next time I will have to ask them to heat it up more. They r famous for their hand made noodles which tastes amazing! I like their pork bao and pork shu mai but they took these off menu, bummer to see it gone, I hope they bring these two items back!! <br/><br/>Cons:<br/>One dish we disliked was their duck salad, the dressing and flavors tasted horrible, weird. <br/><br/>Service: (1/5 stars) bad. Esp the cashier young lady is extra grumpy with a mean snappy attitude. The servers r always rushing therefore hard to flag down when u need something. Some servers seem unhappy while other servers are ok/decent. <br/><br/>Ambience: (4/5) restaurant is large and interior has nice decor and nice furniture. I like the glass view into the kitchen where u can c the chefs pulling fresh noodles and making yum Cha. Restaurant has large glass windows so it’s open feeling. Has seating for all types of diners, singles, couples, or large group. <br/><br/>Price: (3/5 stars) kind of pricey but the food quality is high and portions r medium/large .....so it’s justified. About $20-30 per person without drinks. They offer great priced lunch deals that comes with soda, I recommend these deals, portion size is same as the dinner menu, the lunch deal fried rice with beef bit tastes great. <br/><br/>Location (5/5): great, across street from town hall train station. Inside the Regent Place which has lots of nice dessert and coffee places to enjoy after eating here. <br/><br/>Toilets: (1/5 stars). Dirty, worse I’ve seen, urine all over the floor, i was traumatized. I suggest not using these but instead to go down the escalator to the public toilets located next to Daiso store. <br/><br/>Conclusion: food is amazing so I ranked this place high, but they need to improve on service etc. I eat here often. Weekend dinners usually have a long 30 minutes wait with line being outdoors so can get cold. I suggest coming early.
Phfat
My favourite Chinese restaurant, I have been here so many times! The best dishes are: duck roti rolls, prawn dumplings, spicy pork wontons, and seafood noodles. Bad dishes are vegetable dumplings and custard egg buns. <br/>The noodles here are made at the restaurant and are perfect. The brisket noodles are also nice but the seafood noodles will always be my favourite, they come with a green spinach noodle. Prawn dumplings are a classic, ask for chilli sauce to go with them. The duck roti are like Peking duck with hoi sin sauce and cucumber - so tasty. The spicy pork won tons come with the best spicy shanghai sauce! You can also get them with noodles.
Jen
I really like this place ! Pork bun with floss was so tasty. Calamari yummy too. Not a huge fan of the duck roti but overall I was impressed and can’t wait to try more item<br/><br/>Second time changed to a 4, dishes just weren’t as good - noodles with pork chop
G
Waited over 15 mins for two Steamed BBQ Pork buns from the takeaway section, after asking where they were after 15 mins they asked me if they could refund me instead as they were really busy. Disgusting service. Got the buns another 10mins later. Won't be getting takeaway from there again...not sure if I will go back to the restaurant either. They also charged me a $1 card fee for paying with card.

Great food, pretty quick service. Salt and pepper egg Tofu and handmade noodles with tender beef brisket in tomato soup were spot on. Hot and sour soup was way too peppery. Scallops were nothing special, but tasted nice. Would definitely come again when I'm next visiting Sydney!
JDub
The first thing you'll notice here is that it can be jam packed for dinner! My advice would be to head over after the normal dinner times or face a long wait outside (in the cold during winter as well!). Though once inside and you eat your food, the wait will feel like a distant memory. Each time I have visited I have been very satisfied with the meal. <br/><br/>This time around we ordered the fried tofu, spinach veggie noodles, a new take on peking duck, black bean chicken and my all time favorite dish/signature dish for this restaurant, the spicy wonton handmade noodles dish. <br/><br/>In the past i've also had the lychee duck and sambal fish, both amazing choices too.
Big Eyes For A Big Tummy
Authentic Chinese food, couldn't really fault any of the food, particularly found the wontons in soup (on its own), the tofu, and the plain fresh la mian noodles with the braised chicken soup on the side hit the palate the best, both in terms of flavour and texture. Enjoyed the fact that these dishes weren't too oily as typically found with some Chinese restaurants. Service was hit and miss - typical for a busy Asian restaurant I guess. Serving staff spilt soup on my husband's shoes and didn't even apologise..<br/>

A staple in the CBD other Asian restaurants should take note on how to run a venue.<br/>Great menu selection matched with fresh products and a reasonable price. This restaurant does not pretend to be something it's not jus great food serviced consistently well. 😊
Shubham Kedia
We had to wait for 30 mins to get hold of a table at Chefs Gallery. At first, we were dissatisfied with the service as nobody came ahead to serve us. The order took a long time to arrive, but at least everything came together. I ordered HN08 which was really good! I was surprised to eat good vegetarian food at this place. I only wish they had some more vegan options and this would be one of the great places to visit.
Tanya
My partner and I have been here at least 5 times in the past year. Their menu is so elaborate and wholesome you’re spoiled for choice.<br/>The Peking duck and lamb roti entree dishes are innovative and divine. The noodles and noodles soups are bursting with flavour. <br/>Their wine list is great as well<br/>The restaurant is ALWAYS busy so you definitely want to make a booking unless you want to wait in a queue. <br/>Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in the CBD.
Chang Chang
Food is okay. Service is terrible and they arrange another couple sit together with us when there are lots of free tables! It's very embarassing and uncomfortable. Never eat here again.
Good Food Good Mood
What an amazing experience watching the chefs through the open glass to observe the noodle creation extravaganza. Quite the show was put on with elaborate rolling and spinning of the dough, it was utterly captivating. Make sure you get a seat at the bar if you can. <br/>Unbeknownst to me there are several of these around Sydney (you can forgive me being a Melbournian) and they served up some cracking dishes.<br/>Despite the noodle fanfare the standouts for me were the dumplings. Both the perfectly translucent prawn dumpling and the amazing emoji custard filled bun. The lamb roti dish was also quite enjoyable. I didn’t particularly care for the calamari which was lacking seasoning or the salmon sashimi cubes which were disproportionately covered in creme fraiche but I do love a menu with photos. You’ll know what you’re up for visually at any rate.

Came for early dinner and it wasn’t that crowded yet, ordered a few dishes and what stand out was only their noodles, overall the dishes was okay but it wasnt that ill crave for it. The service by the manager and cashier were not good, the cashier was rude and just plainly impatient, the manager in another hand couldn’t prioritise who came first and just left me waiting, while she sat me on the wrong table and ive to ask other waitress to find another table. But the rest of the waiter/ress were good. Overall not satisfied and wont be back so soon.

Tried last night. They are still busy at 9pm. <br/><br/>I ordered hot and sour soup with prawn. It’s sour and ‘hot’ but not spicy 🌶, at least based on Sichuaner’s view. <br/><br/>There signature, spinach handmade noddles are excellent. Dry and chewy, full of ingredients, and the meat is proper seasoned. <br/><br/>About the cold dish, bobo chicken, this is a Sichuan cuisine but it is modified, probably catering for people they can’t eat too spicy food. Awww, I am not very into this one. <br/><br/>The surrounding at 9pm is okay, not 2 crowded but super busy at meal time.
A Guide For Your Appetite
Good Atmosphere, Great Dumplings<br/><br/>I visited this restaurant for a business meeting. If you want to have a non business related lunch here, I suggest you wait until about 2 - 3pm as it does get quite busy with business attired people.<br/><br/>The restaurant has a great ambiance to it with great art / small sculptures.<br/><br/>There was 4 of us at the restaurant and we all enjoyed our meals. I must say the prices are expensive for yum cha type of dining. If you go to a Yum Cha restaurant you would easily eat 1 and a half times more of the same bill you pay at Chefs Gallery. If you don't mind about price and you mind about quality then this restaurant is a must visit.<br/><br/>Service is good but can be better. My manager asked for tea she opened the menu and said we have several options... she mentioned 1 or two and then as she was walking away she ended up babbling the other options and did not return. When she was passing our table my manager asked for the option we wanted and the waiters all have some form of microphone / earphone communication... so she walked away from us and yelled out the tea option. Didn't even look at us and say ok thank you etc... not very professional when you are trying to have a business lunch.<br/><br/>Food - Most importantly is very delicious. I wouldn't say it is the best I have had however it certainly tickles the right taste buds. I do recommend the Dim Sim Platter.
Pinicolada
The desserts especially the piggy buns and marshmallow rabbits are very cute. But it’s not just all looks, they taste amazing. Not too sweet, unique in flavour. Noodles are well priced. Convenient location.
Weekendfoodescapes
Over the years, Chef's Gallery has grown on me as they have evolved their menu. Recently I came here with some work mates and given I've tried most of the menu - I now have some favourites to recommend to my workmates. During the week, you can still see a bit of a queue at lunch time due to the popularity so it's best to book or turn up when they open. Without a booking on this occasion, we have to wait about 10 minutes for lunch for a table for 4.

The food was very delicious. We ordered dried noodles (fantastic), golden sand baos, black pepper pork, veggies. It would be good if the black pepper pork can be cut smaller - it was too much meat & the cut was too big.....

The worst noodle I ever try! so dry ! I have to drink a whole botter of water to feel better.........and the waitress keep walking around but ignore us .......never come back again.

I love this place, however the portion can be improved a bit. I love the cuteness of the pig face bun and it is quite refreshing for a dessert. Great to come here with family but can be a little packed on the weekends. I love looking at the Chef's cook through the window and how they fold the dumplings with their hands.<br/><br/>Wishing to come back soon to try some new dishes!

Went there with a good friend for her birthday.<br/>And found out the policy for byo is very very unwelcoming.<br/>I have been to many restaurants but a casual Chinese restaurant charging $10 per bottle is just ridiculous. <br/>Also as in the restaurant don't have any cake on the menu, they also charger $10 per slice for having the cake we bought from other shop, which is just insane. So we didn't have the birthday cake.<br/>Foodwise, the green stir fry noodles with seafood is the only acceptble dish. The chicken is ridiculously salty and oily, which I'm sure Taiwanese SanBei Chicken is not like this. The tofu tasted ok but definitely overpriced. <br/>Overall food was very very ordinary and overpriced.<br/>The staffs were ok.

AMAZING PLACE ❤️❤️👍🏻! All of the items that I ordered, tasted divine! 🥘👏🏻👏🏻. The service was awesome and quick/ Each dish had their own taste and flavour and I loved that ☀️✨👏🏻❤️❤️❤️

This place is always so popular that i have to wait in line everytime i visit! Love how they have both authentic chinese food as well as western fusion ones. My favourite would be their fried noodles and salmon fried rice! <br/> <br/><br/>Feel free to follow me on instagram @pignic_ for more foodie adventures.

Honestly think they have the BEST spicy wonton in sydney!! Not to mention their duck roti is amaaaaazing. Other menus are equally delicious, love dumplings and noodles too
Cindy
A wonderful dining experience. I really wanted to try this after a friends recommendation and also from seeing the queues every time I was nearby. Shared a range of dishes. All were delicious but I particularly loved the dumplings. I can't wait to eat there again.

Great place if your in mood for some classic well put together Chinese. Favourites of mine are the duck roti pancakes and sweet and sour pork.<br/>Always busy at lunchtime and dinner make sure you get there early, vibrant city vibe ambience.

Not impressed <br/><br/>Queue to get in and ticket system <br/>That's ok. The food must be good <br/><br/>Customer service non existent <br/>That's ok. The food must be good<br/><br/>We ordered prawns duck and pork belly. All of which came out within a few minutes as if they had been sitting on the shelf. Like a fast food restaurant. <br/><br/>Unfortunately the food does not live up to the rating on here. :(<br/><br/>Oh well off to Uncle Tetsu's.

Really bad experience. <br/><br/>Food was all precooked and served 10 seconds after order. Let's be honest customer service is never a strong point for Chinese restaurants. And we were sitting at the bar, looking at some Middle age Chinese Lady pouring salads on a plate with zero care factor. And man, did I say no dressing? Or what's dressing?
Hello Miss May
Was just at Chefs Gallery today at Regent Place. It was amazing!<br/><br/>Lunch for three and we ordered these delicious dishes.<br/><br/>If you love calamari, you gotta try salt and pepper baby calamari with fried capers. Served with sliced chilli and green shallots. <br/><br/>Sweet and sour pork is an old favourite of mine when having Chinese food hehe. Super yummy lightly battered Pork shoulder pieces, cooked to perfection. Loving the little details of dashu, vinegar pickled radish and cabbage. <br/><br/>Water spinach dish is wok fried with chilli prawn paste. Could be a tiny bit strong for some but I'm loving the Asian flavours of chilli goodness.<br/><br/>When in Chefs Gallery, you got to try the handmade noodles which are wok fried. Loving the dish with shredded roast duck. It was so good. Think of handmade noodles stir fried in soy sauce, with a generous serving of shitake and kind brown mushrooms, strips of omelette and sesame seeds. <br/><br/>Now, here's a Peking Duck pancake with a twist. The Shredded Peking Duck wrapped in flaky Chinese Roti is just divine. A great entree to have, really. <br/><br/>Prawn and Pork wontons in spicy Shanghainese sauce was tops. It tastes really good with Chefs Gallery fried rice with diced roast duck. <br/><br/>We paired our mouth-watering Chefs Gallery dishes with hot cups of Jasmine tea. A very yummy lunch indeed! We couldn't wait to come back again!<br/><br/>For more yummy food pix, <br/>Find me on Instagram<br/>@hellomissmay<br/><br/>Food journal <br/>Hellomissmay.com

The food here is tasty but very small! The value of the dishes are questionable so go here if you feel like treating yourself and want to spend more than you usually would on Chinese food. I suggest you order a rice or noodle dish to ensure you are full. The menu has a lot of variety so you are sure to find something to your taste. The panna cotta was my favourite dish as Asian flavours were integrated into the dessert very well.

I love this noddle. It was a little bit spicy but I love it. We also order other 2 dishes but no more photo. Love green noodle! It was so nice.

Oh man. Chefs gallery is awesome. Watching the noodles get hand stretched while you slurp down jellyfish salad. The duck was nice but the standout dishes were all ones that had the noodles in them. I love noodles. Even shitty noodles so this was some good noodles. I can't really remember exactly what it probably doesn't matter anyone coz everything was good so just go here and order a bunch of stuff that you think will be good and then get at least two more things as well.

Amazing food here! One of the best handmade noodles I can find in Sydney! (Can't find any good handmade noodle places in Melbourne) <br/>Spice is bearable... it adds to the flavor! Went back twice during my trip to Sydney! Chefs gallery please come to Melbourne!

Chefs Gallery offers the finest and freshest noodles in town, with a unique and flavoursome take, in a setting that's casual yet formal enough to have a great night out. While the kids are a bit too young to develop a palette for the unique flavours in this restaurant and tend to prefer cheaper faster Chinese options, my wife and I have several favourites here that we would come back to again and again. The handmade noodles are simply delectable! Expect prices to be a little higher than other Asian options around but once you taste your order you'll know why.

Very nice. We were motivated to visit by the stylish interior that was visible through the open glass exterior as we were passing and the food here lived up to my expectations at least with tasty dim sum type dishes that were palpably of a different standard from the usual stuff. My companion also enjoyed it but I did have some diffculty in selecting the right dishes to take away home for a family member who don't eat pork, chicken, seafood.

This is such an overhyped place!!! The items are not at all authentic chinese. The desert are cheap ass wannabe high end. The little colourful buns could be bought 10 for $4 at Tongli or other asian supermarkets. The noodles are tastes drenched in layers of oil. Yes that spinach green noodles may look healthy but covered in oil. Seriously stop trying.

Food was so good we had to go there 2 nights in a row. Peking duck roti is something different but so delicious. Also they might be a bit of a novelty but the emoji custard buns are a must (even if it is just for the photo/video)

Took my relatives from China to try some creative Chinese food. The interior design of the restaurant was not your average Chinese restaurant, it had large glass panes to show off their hand pulled noodles. The tables were rectangular, no lazy Susan, no generic white plates and no cheap plastic chopsticks. Everything you don't expect from a traditional chainsaw restaurant. The atmosphere was contrasted between the staff and the customers. Waiters weren't enthusiastic but they get the job done. The customers were enjoying their conversation over lunch break. It felt like it was a crossover between a fast food restaurant and casual dining. <br/><br/>Food was good but not amazing overall. Roasted duck wrapped in pastry was delicious yet refreshing because of the cucumber. Prawns were tasty because it was coated with salty duck egg yolks and the wasabi could cut the greasiness. Fried tofu was too salty on the crispy crust and bland in middle because it was too large. Prawn dumplings were great, light on the palette, firm and succulent filling. Stir fried spinach hand pulled noodles had a strong initial punch but gets boring the more you eat. It was a decent meal and my relatives from china were amused of the concept of creative Chinese food. So, amused that they wanted to invite others to eat dinner there.

Absolutely love the food here! All the dishes are fresh and delicious however the pricing could be better. Would recommend this restaurant for a great lunch experience, conveniently located next to Town Hall station!

Chefs Gallery is a superb food chain. Their food is top notch and they win for best Asian desserts in Sydney for me. Not all the food will be for everyone, as shown by our duck feet dilemma but the dishes we enjoyed we truly loved. Dumplings, mini burgers and those desserts blew my mind and taste buds. I will return to this place for sure. Full review is now up on Spooning Australia.

I love this place. I also love the dessert; the sesame piggy buns and emoji buns. I'm not sure what exactly the wraps are called in English.. But the texture of the wraps have the perfect crispness.

Chefs Gallery provide Chinese dishes with a twist of creation. The service was fairly quick. The menu was extensive with lots of dish /meal options. But the actual food didn't look as nice as they pictured. <br/>#cold platter of 4 dish#-included seaweed and jelly fish salad; cucumber salad marinated in chilli oil; silken tofu with pork floss and century egg; deboned duck feet marinated with Sichuan pepper. A good mix of popular cold appetisers. But overall, only the cucumber salad stood out, crunchy, well seasoned. Other dishes were just average.<br/>#prawn and pork wonton noodles#-the wonton was big with decent pork meat and prawn pieces. The wonton wrap was not that good and kept falling apart when I tried to pick it up... the flavours of the noodle was nice though as well as the hand-made noodle itself. <br/>#roasted duck with lychee sweet sauce#-underneath the duck meat was a layer of fresh cucumber, extra green is always good. The duck meat itself was ok, little bit chewy and no crispy skin. The lychees sauce was nice and sweet, good companion for the duck.<br/>#custard and egg yolk steam bun#-with emoji emotions, it looked pretty cute. The bun was not steamy hot and the skin was little bit thick. The custard filling was sweet, running, but lack of flavour.<br/>Overall, the flavours of the dishes were just around average, nothing stands out, little disappointed.

Some of the best Chinese I've had in a long time. Reasonably priced, interesting twists on classic dishes, decent portions. Not cheap, cheap at $60 per head (with wine) but wasn't hungry and felt like the two of us had had a quality meal. Very popular with locals and Asian contingent - so they must be doing something right. The polar opposite of Tim Ho Wan the week before, which was very poor in comparison and similar price. Would definitely return, and soon!
