We came here for a quick, light dinner as we were going out to an event straight after and we can’t wait to come back for more! The food was amazing, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent as well with staff explaining all the dishes, making recommendations on the food and drinks which were spot on. Highly recommend
This place is absolutely amazing!!! Love the atmsosphere with some of my favourite songs/bands like Nirvana playing in the background. The food is to die for as well and I could’ve ordered everything on the menu!!! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, particularly if you’re looking for a fancy new cocktail or spirit to drink!
We had the Omakase tasting menu and every dish was great. Our favourite was squid ink tempura oysters with pickled ginger. Our waiter was Chris and he was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We let him to order for us everything from cocktails to dessert and we were impressed with each choice.
Sooo good!
Great food awesome music and atmosphere friendly and fun staff totally recommend this place
Arguably one of the best meals we have had in years! Standout dishes were the carrots, mushrooms and desserts. Sake flight was a great accompaniment. Good value for money too! Highly recommended.
Staff were also great. Only downside is that you smell of food in coming out especially if you're seated at the bar close to the kitchen. :-)
I can’t even begin to choose a favourite dish... the carrots - amazing. The ceviche - to die for. The pork belly - brilliant. The sakè chicken - yummmm! The chocolate fondant - OMG. Everything on this menu is deliciously unique. Can’t wait to come back!
Started with cocktails and progressed to sake from Kyoto after a great recommendation from the staff. Every dish was exceptional. Couldn’t go past the carrots, squid udon, meatballs, mackerel and pork belly. Great atmosphere for dining out on a Tuesday night.
Amazing food and great wine selection. Do yourself a favor and get the red cabbage. It will blow your mind how good this simple looking dish tastes.
Fantastic experience. The music and food were amazing. Couldn’t recommend Kid Kyoto enough
I went yesterday with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and we had a great experience.
We ordered the Omakase "deluxe edition" and were left extremely satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food.
Particular highlights were the beef tartare, pork belly and the Chocolate fondant. The service was attentive and the staff were very helpful in explaining how to properly eat some of the dishes.
My only comment would be that i had made a request via my booking confirmation and subsequent phone call on the day that we would be ordering the Omakase and if we could avoid seafood dishes. This was agreed to on the call. However, when we were seated, one of the staff members was not aware of our request and we had to explain this again, which I thought would not be necessary. It definitely is not a criticism but it would have been nice to have some uniformity in this regard.
Overall, a great experience.
Lucky enough to enjoy a preview of this delicious take on modern Japanese at the recent soft launch. So impressed with the menu and vibe that i've already recommended to a bunch of friends and will definitely be making a return visit!
Cool concept, great food and a killer fit-out. This is going to become a staple Sydney restaurant. Also, the desserts are incredible!
Delicious, beautiful looking food, awesome music and atmosphere, impeccable service. Big shout out to Jordan our waiter! He’s the man! Thanks for looking after us so well .
Absolutely loved this place! The food was beautiful and fresh, and I’m hooked on the Archie Rose gin Martini. Can’t wait to go back!
We had the $59 trust us omakase. It was a lovely night, the food was tasty and unique, but none of them particularly stood out or left an impression. I think for most of these dishes it was 80% of the way to becoming a reaaally good dish, but the balance of the flavours or textures were a bit off or something was missing. The highlights were probably the miso corn cob, chicken tsukene and the burnt banana dessert. The pork hock was a winner when I got the juicy, fatty bits of pork, but when I got the hard, dry bits instead I was left feeling a bit dissatisfied. I think $59 is on the cheaper end of feed me type of courses, so I would say Kid Kyoto gives great value for money as the food was indeed tasty and presented interestingly. Also I had the signature yama yama cocktail and it was delicious and fresh, would recommend.
Great food tasty fusion of Japanese and Western. Service impeccable
From arriving till we left
The music was great
Allowing us to BOP but also talk
Drinks menu wide and varied
Corn ribs and croquettes spectacular
Made a reservation for 8.30 but was told it was 8.45 but luckily I har a confirmation email confirming it was booked for 8.30 and was seated straight away. The food and staff was great. The only down fall was a mocktail that was ordered did not come with a straw and when we asked the satff for a straw they told us the restaraunt ran out of straws so tje drink was not mixed properly and tasted horrible
Try the omakase - very good value. Delicious food (the watermelon sashimi and matcha ganache were stand-outs) but the service is patchy. Our waitress was excellent however some other staff was nonchalant.
Came here with as a group of 4. The waitress was really sarcastic and abit rude, food was amazing though.
The food came out at such a good pace despite how busy the restaurant was. The waiters were very attentive and the food was delicious. Unfortunately they ran out of the main wagyu dish so will be back to try that!
Recommended dishes: salmon sashimi, corn ribs, takoyaki croquette, caramelised pork hock
Nice food - crispy pork hock and super tender wagu. Nice customer services.
We ordered kingfish sashimi, caramélised pork hock and a few other dishes. The food was enjoyable and so was the service.
Pleasantly surprised. We were here on a Wednesday evening, made a booking but could have gotten away without one but the restaurant was moderately busy. They have bar seating and tables. Services is polite and pleasant.
Food was surprisingly good! We had the omakase because we just did not want to think about it and it is lashings of food. There is a 9 course option and a 11 course option. Opted for the 9 which was around $60pp. Kingfish sashimi, corn ribs, agedashi tofu and pork hock were yummo!
Can easily spend an evening here. Drink menu was good too.
Everything is delicious and I want more! So many delicious Japanese dishes with modern twists that surprise you every time. The highlight dish for me was the corn ribs - tasty and creative!
Overall the food was good - couple of great dishes (tuna sashimi, pork main, chicken main) and a couple of average ones (i.e. waygu main which was chewy, bland chicken skewers). Great atmosphere and decent service.
Normally a little apprehensive when all you see of a Tasting menu is “trust us”. But for $59, it’s not a huge dent on the wallet to give the Omakase a go.
The quality of the dishes were all great, and there were a great variety as well. From the snacks/entrees of corn ribs, sashimi of kingfish, skewer of chicken tsukune, and the caramelised Pork hock. All of the dishes were delicious and nicely presented. It was definitely very good value for the price, we were all stuffed by the end. Service was good. Bonus for complimentary sparkling water too.
Note: Unfortunately Zomato stopped giving 0.5* ... This restaurant would have been rated 4.5...
I went to Kid Kyoto with a friend of mine from overseas. You need to venture into the alleyways of Sydney CBD to find this Japanese izakaya. Since we were not in the mood of choosing dishes, we opted to go for the big set menu of $75 per person. There were 10 dishes for this menu.
Love love love this place! Had quite a few shared plates and everything was just superb! Every mouthful was just enjoyable leaving you wanting more! Would def recommend the croquettes!
From everything we heard as a place of rebelliousness where rock meets unexpected Japanese, expectations were met and then some. What stood out were the funky interiors and well versed knowledge and articulation of each dish on presentation by our attendant lifting this place above the level of usual casual dining into a sweetspot safe from fine dining pretentiousness and fussy overtures.
My friends and I went for the omakase menu, food was consistently good and I personally enjoyed corn and agedashi tofu so much! Definitely coming back! Cocktails were a bit too light for my liking but nice.
Kid Kyoto is cool and funky and the ongoing theme throughout the restaurant is the 90’s grunge and rock scene. Of course it has Radiohead, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins playing, quite loudly, in the background. So, if you are looking for a quiet spot for a romantic dinner, Kid Kyoto is probably not going to be your first choice. Now let’s get to the food. It’s Japanese fusion and ridiculously tasty. Traditional Japanese dishes are served with a twist and the European ingredients with Japanese flavours work. It’s innovative and creative. The chicken tsukune (chicken mince balls) with marinated egg yolk (pictured) was a highlight as were the desserts. I loved the white peach custard (pictured) and wanted it all to myself. I would go again, especially as it’s conveniently located on Bridge Street in the Sydney CBD, however, the service was a let down. It was erratic and inconsistent. Hopefully, it was just on the night we were there. #kidkyoto
I usually don’t like steak when it’s cooked less than well done. But the waitress strongly recommended the wagyu to be served medium well, so I followed her advice. Once it was served, the usual weird me got a little bit disgusted by the sight of red half-raw meat (I know it’s not the restaurant’s fault, it’s just me). But when I tried it, it went beyond my expectation! The meat wasn’t bloody like many steaks I’ve found to be when it’s served in a medium well state. Rather, it was real juicy and rich in taste unlike anything I’ve tasted before. Also ordered the chicken karage paos and pork gyozas, which tasted just good enough but not as impressive as the wagyu.
Love the vibe here. The staff were nice and helpful, cz some of the ingredients were quite confusing, and the staff here were eager to help. This place got a great range of liquor to choose, my kid kyo-tini is a mixer of gin and sake, really a Japanese fusion cocktail. Food was also good here, especially the deep fried ones. Highly recommend the deep fried kimchi, pork marrow gyoza! Actually, the food on the menu is more like a Asian fusion flavour, cz I saw many Korean elements there, anyway, flavour matters, and they did pretty well, definitely worth a try.
I’d heard very good things about Kid Kyoto, and you know, folks weren’t lyin’. We went for a special mid-week meal, an Entertainment Book meal with matching wines from St Hugo and Perrier-Jouët champagne. I quite like these meals, which seem to allow chefs to show off a bit, with great grog alongside it. I prefer when they’re not group tables, which they often are, and while the tables were a little close together, we were happy we had our own.
I highly recommended this restaurant near Wynyard Station for delicious Asian fusion food. We did the deluxe edition omakase and it was such a great experience because all the dishes were amazing. My favourites though were the kingfish ceviche, chicken tsukune yakitori, agedashi tofu and wagyu steak. The service staff were also very attentive and helpful so happy to come back and have that set menu again!

Wonderful dim lit setting with a great atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful guiding our choices. The food was wonderful and allowed us to experience a great mix of Japanese fusion
This restaurant offers modern, unique and fresh food. It is a fusion of two cultures and offers a variety of seafood, noodles, shared plates, meats and vegetarian dishes. We ordered the miso chicken which was very exotic and different to what I’ve ever tasted. The tofu was absolutely delicious and the sauce was full of flavour. They also offer complimentary sparkling water which is a bonus.
First time at KK and tried the Omakase banquet. Loved every dish especially the spicy corn ribs 🙌🏻. Will definitely be back and sample some of the delicious cocktails. The tunes hit the right note!
Amazing food with very friendly staff. Usually quite busy but u get a table easily if you are lucky. Love their spicy chicken buns and the calamari. Also the lamb on noodles was amazing. Came back the next day because it was amazingly delicious!
This place is a real catch. The food is so good - the fusion of flavours are very much embedded into simple produce. Ceviche was a touch of freshness and spice. The seared salmon was divine and I am still thinking about it. Chicken yakitori with a side of the onsen egg was so different but delicious. Corn ribs were very flavoursome, I struggled to eat this on its own. Pork nuggets, lamb yaki soba and wagyu were amazing. The standouts were definitely the yaki soba and salmon. Service is great and so are the drinks. I totally recommend this place and I will be sure to come back!
We had an intimate dining experience at Kid Kyoto right before our Melbourne Trip. This really set the mood for us to go on another holiday back to Japan! Matt once said he would love to retire and live in Japan. We've been to Japan a few times now and absolutely love the food, culture and people. Kid Kyoto provides you with an upper class vibe yet contrasted with the street food vibe as you see the wok's fire up! We were seated near the kitchen and could smell and see the food being served to customers. For those of you who don't know, Kid Kyoto is tucked away on Bridge Lane and serves modern Japanese tapas style small plates. The menu is limited but for good reasons - they have 9 categories on the menu; Izakaya Intro, Yakitori, Bao, Raw & Unplugged, Nigiri Sushi, Main Stage, Back Up, Encore and Omakase.
Ordered:
•Sashimi platter ($32) - Just your standard sashimi, wasn’t too spectacular.
•Pork gyoza ($16) - Scrumptious gyozas that we’re full of flavour.
•Shiitfaced chicken ($30) - Didn’t like this dish as it was similar to a Chinese chicken dish but this one wasn’t special and more on the dry side.
•Kingfish ceviche ($23) - All Japanese restaurants I’ve gone to, I’ve enjoyed kingfish ceviche as the flavours were simple yet delicious but this was definitely a miss as the flavours were too strong and overpowered the kingfish.
•Bone marrow fried rice ($18) - A definite must order! So much flavour and I liked the hint of spice from the kimchi.
•Chicken karaage bao ($36) - 4 baos at $9 each was expensive but the chicken was still juicy and the sauce that it came with complimented it perfectly.
•Beef tartare ($18) - Not usually a fan of raw beef but this was was tender and went well with the prawn crackers.
Overall, I enjoyed most dishes here and they were unique and delicious. Love the interior vibes and of course the mighty grand entrance of the restaurant that feels as if you’ve been transported to Japan. Total: approx. $44pp
Not usually a fan of fusion as it can come across confused if not done right, but Kid Kyoto do a good job of it and overall the dishes paid respect to the origin of the dish without bastardizing it.
Serving sizes aren't great for the price, but the quality of food and presentation helped justify it.
The decor of the restaurant is dark, but it works well with the lighting and posters throughout the place. Service was good and the night we went there was a live band playing old school 80/90s rock (taking requests too!).
This place was busy for a Monday night! Came in to sample their new spring menu.
To start we had the corn sticky ribs, the Charred octopus okonomiyaki, the Barbequed king prawns yakitori and the Pulled pork bao.
From the raw section we had the kingfish ceviche and the Wagyu beef tartar. The Tartar was by far a better dish and so tasty!
For mains we had the Sake miso chicken with a side of the Japanese fried rice with pork and the Crispy Lotus chips. Holy moly the chicken is so tender and had a really lovely sweet burdock sauce!
To finish we had the Yukari infused pineapple sashimi, granita, liquorice parfait and the Milk chocolate jelly. The Yukari had such a refreshing finish. The chocolate jelly had more a thicker texture and looked like caramel (i thought it would come out clear)
Wow! We had a lovely feast and I am loving the 90's Nirvana vibe.
Kid Kyoto really gives you Japan vibes as soon as you walk in through the mock Fushimi Inari Shrines, which is great for taking pics so I think that was a highlight of our visit. The food I thought was average, everything was cooked perfectly but I didn’t really find anything outstanding about their menu. I enjoyed the beef tartare the most and the chicken skewers were so tender and flavoursome.
Came here as a party of 3 for a quick bite without a booking. Fortunately Kid Kyoto was able to accommodate for us, however, we were only allowed to stay for 1 hr.
The menu is a “share style” type of menu so we ordered the pork hock, okonomiyaki, and miso marinated tuna on popped rice.
Food was absolutely delicious and I would love to return to try out more of their food.
The only unfortunate event was that the kitchen lost our order and “our” waiter forgot our order since he did not write it down. They were very polite about it all but it was a minor inconvenience considering we were on a time limit.
Had a business dinner at KKs. Very impressed. We went for the deluxe Omakase and everything was delicious. Not the best set menu I have had but exceptionally good for the price point.
Hard to pick a standout dish as everything was so good but the smoked fish and marrow gyoza were exceptional. Really funky interior and the staff were great. Hope to return.
Finally got to check this place out. Tucked in Bridge Lane, this place definitely exudes character and charm when you step foot into the restaurant. Service was lovely. We enjoyed everything we ordered, the tartare and the chicken tsukene were so delicious! We opted for the ala carte menu instead of the banquet for the 2 of us, and the dishes filled us up plenty! Definitely want to come back again!
Came here for a dinner with a friend. It was very busy but we had luckily reserved seats so we did not have a wait.
Food was nice, we had a decent feed and loved dessert. There was a bit of wait for food to come out but it didn’t bother us as much.
Will be back.
Black hole sun pulled pork is sooo beautiful! It is a must try! The bar looks cute. It is a more like a fusion rather than a traditional Japanese, definitely worth trying.
Food: Ordered the chefs choice degustation. The majority of the dishes were vegetable based, and although very delicious, would have appreciated more protein options. The deep fried school of prawns were my least favorite option. The dessert was delicious and light (granita, melon etc). Felt perhaps the value wasn’t quite there but the food was however very tasty.
Service: Very good. Friendly and attentive wait staff.
Ambience: Excellent. Funky decor and great atmosphere.
Kid Kyoto is one of the newer kids on the block with an unexpected mix of Japanese izakaya and rock music, from the team which has turned Mejico and Indu into success stories in the Sydney restaurant scene. It wasn’t easy to find the entrance which is hidden away on Tank Stream Lane (the Bridge Street entrance which was used for the former Bridge Street Garage site is now a fire exit) but when you enter into the cavernous space, it is worth the effort as the contemporary decor is punctuated with plenty of neon, vibrant aqua seats and polished concrete to create an unique ambience buzzing with energy.
Hidden entrance, just like in the alleyways of Japan. Kid Kyoto boasts a modern setting and palette but somehow still manages to maintain all the flavours that make Japanese food so iconic.
Must try dishes:
- beef tartare! The seaweed flavour mixed with the mayo is amazing and you get to wrap them up in shiso leaf. My favourite dish of the menu.
- Kingfish ceviche: crunchy little rice balls add to the fun!
- smoky edamame beans
We found the entrees to surpass the mains. Only order mains if you’re really hungry or have a big group!
The food was delicious and the service was great. Visiting from Melbourne, would defiantly come back to this restaurant next time I’m in Sydney. The restaurant itself was trendy and clean all in all 4.8. They just need to tweak their Ceviche and get a lychee martini and it’ll be 5 Star for sure
Amazing food and great soundtrack. Don’t expect traditional boring Japanese. This is something else. Modern and unexpected. Great service and incredible. Great sake range and interesting cocktails. We will definitely be back.
I quite enjoyed the meal here. Food was fresh and unique. Service was pleasant and friendly (albeit a bit slow for lunch) and seating was comfortable. It's hidden away in that same laneway as Mr Wongs tho.. So Google maps hasn't quite got it right. I enjoyed most of the dishes... except the cuttlefish noodle salad... And absolute standout was the black oysters!
This place is so cool! Entrance via bridge lane through the Kyoto style shrine. Punk rock and old school 90s rock like bjork, blink 182 etc can clearly be heard around the restaurant. . Service is awesome, we had Sara and she was soooo busy but still so attentive and we were really well looked after by her.
When would you think of when you hear the world "Japanese Fusion Cuisine"? The newly opened restaurant Kid Kyoto serves an exquisite omasake and a la carte menu with a decent cocktail menu as well. Yet, it's nothing like what you think the traditional omasake should be. You won't be able to find hand kneading sushi nor tempura. Yet, you can some familiar dishes with a twist.
I was so looking forward to going to Kid Kyoto as I'd heard it was amazing so the anticipation was ridiculous. It somehow exceeded my expectations. The decor is extremely cool, the vibe is awesome (the music 😍), the staff are so friendly and attentive and I haven't even mentioned the food yet. We had the Black Hole Sun Pork Belly, cabbage and conbu pickle and the hot green beans. Yum. Complemented by the delicious sake from their extensive menu. OMG, an awesome night. I can't recommend this venue highly enough and will definitely be back.
Kid Kyoto - “where rock meets unexpected Japanese” ... this is exactly what we experienced. The moment we walk into the restaurant we felt as if we had been transported into a rock stars home. The decor fit perfectly with the theme of the restaurant with dim lighting and turquoise furniture and the casual setting was exactly what drew us in for a quick dinner after work.
We started with the ‘crab stix’ which was served on a crispy senbei rice cracker topped with a beautiful crab floss and old bay. Something so simple yet packed with so much flavour. We also picked at a few other starters such as the preserved lemon chicken tsukune served with osen egg and the special for the evening which was a beautiful hand crafted pork gyoza.
We decided to opt for the barramundi as the main to share along with some green beans. The barramundi was cooked to perfection with a light crispy skin and soft moist fish beneath, the fish which was served in a unique smoked corn dashi (fill, snow pea and bamboo) that left us wanting more!
The service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful to suggest dishes from the menu.
We are definitely keen to visit again and try everything else on the menu!!
What do you get when you cross a Japanese izakaya with 90s grunge and plonk it in Sydney? Kid Kyoto of course. Only open a couple of months, Kid Kyoto is the latest addition to the Sam Prince Hospitality Group. They are the guys behind popular Indu and Mejico. Hidden away in Sydney’s CBD in Bridge Lane, opposite end to Mr Wong. Just look for the “KK Unplugged” sign and you know you are in the right spot.
Been to a lot of new opened restaurants lately, and by far, this is one of my fave new concept restaurant. Despite being newly open, I am so happy to see the service is attentive and well managed- they know what they are doing and I love it! All the dishes was beautifully plated, creative and most importantly- super delicious. All 6 if us ended the night completely full and happy. Thank you team at Kid Kyoto for such a great night! It was all perfect!
Favourite dishes were Kingfish Ceviche and Calpis granita & strawberry eucalyptus sorbet. Great for the summer!
Funky atmosphere and great service.
Kid Kyoto is fun, different and modern Japanese with a twist. Sitting in one of the tables across the workman like kitchen, we had great views of the Japanese chefs at work. The food was fresh and the chefs took great care in selecting premium ingredients. Definitely recommend this place as a late dining option in the city.
Whilst Sydney has natural beauty in spades, in our opinion it lacks the mystery and edgy coolness that is the hallmark of its Victorian counterpart. This is all about to change when we enter Kid Kyoto, tucked away down Bridge Lane, moodily lit and with walls decorated with nothing more than the remnants of the tiles that adorned them in the dim and distant past. So far the venue certainly has that wow effect but can we say the same about the food?
If there was more than a five star rating, I would give Kid Kyoto a bigger number, as I absolutely loved this place. I don’t get to dine In the city that often, but this was a real treat. First of all the venue was funky, the concept of the restaurant was well thought through, the service was beyond amazing and the food was sensational.
Everything I ate had a unique flavour , and was beautifully presented. Do yourself a favour and make sure to experience this fabulous venue, it’s a real treat.
You wouldn’t come here for traditional izakaya - you come here for creative modern fusion Japanese/Asian/Western dishes with flavours you wouldn’t commonly find elsewhere. Service is friendly and the venue has a chilled vibe to it. Wagyu and calpis granita were favourites of the bunch.
We went here for dinner on the first Friday night they were open and were not disappointed! The food was delicious (particularly the sake chicken) and service was friendly and attentive. Similar excellent quality to the other two restaurants that are part of the same group (Indu and Mejico). We will definitely be going back.
What a place. Discreetly positioned in one of Sydney’s most charming laneways it opens up from a unassuming door into a venue that feels like a secret that you have been chosen to be part of.
Once inside your pre dinner options are delightfully well rounded with cocktails and wine choices complementing the speakeasy vibe with a focus on some very delicious Japanese whiskeys and unlike other bars that Sydney has on offer, these are mixed by professionals who know how to blend a drink. This can result in having a tipple or two over your initial intentions. But isn’t that what it’s all about?
Dinner continued with the same tempo, revealing dishes that were innovative, original and created to a high standard. The kitchen is visible to all which creates a wonderful energy and atm
osphere coupled with a great choice of 90’s music.
If you’re partial to Japanese cuisine or even if you’re not, do yourself a favour and spend a night with Kid Kyoto as it delivers Japanese cuisine which will leave every diner smiling from their sake wet lips from ear to ear.
Highly recommended.
A M A Z I N G! I don't know what was more beautiful. The presentation of the food we were served or the blissful post orgasmic glow I was giving off after eating here.
The kingfish cerviche made me truly understand what those darn Masterchef judges are always yapping on about when talking about textures and the balance of sweet and savoury in dishes.
I waddled away with a new definition of what flavour explosion means after devouring the toasted yuzu meringue tart (please order this if you know what is good for you) and I can't wait to return to flirt with the adorable waiters and get tipsy to some groovy tunes!
As a half Japanese woman I often find it hard to eat at Japanese restaurants in Sydney as they often don't live up to my expectations. I was especially nervous about Kid Kyoto as its more of a "modern Japanese" twist. We went there for lunch on my birthday and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, I loved the mackerel, the tsukune and especially the cocktails. As a massive fan of yuzu it was great to see two yuzu cocktails on the menu, and since it was my birthday I had to have a few.
This group always do something a little weird and wonderful with their venues and I love that they didn't try to do traditional Japanese but did something a little different.
Lastly, the soundtrack was great! They've advertised that music has a lot to do with their inspiration here so its worth noting that the music really did add to the atmosphere, loved it all!
Such delicious Japanese food with a twist, the pork belly and the crab starter were amazing - awesome decor and great vibe, will definitely be coming back!
My favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Had the pleasure of going here with my family to and got the classics set menu and I have to say, every dish was sublime.
The photos shown highlight everything that we were given as part of the set menu (excluding the sushi rolls which we ordered separately).
Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Japanese food.
Loved the experience and the food! Their presentation was amazing especially for the sashimi and the dragon egg dessert. The soft shell crab sushi was also super delicious!! The staff were nice although the service was a bit slow. Overall still a lovely experience and perfect for celebrations.
Had a great evening celebrating my birthday there with a friend. The food was amazing particularly the miso glazed tooth fish which melts in your mouth. The staff were friendly and made some really good recommendations on what to drink. This is another fine dining that I surely will be back.
This has immediately become our new favourite restaurant in Sydney! The food was out of this world delicious and came out so fast and hot - the drinks were equally amazing, specifically the Honey Ro was a highlight of mine. The oysters alone were the best we’ve had in Sydney, hands down. Perfect place for special occasions!
Came here as a party of 4 to celebrate my mum's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes and the customer service was really good too. The only downside was the wait for each dish was too long.
* Forgot to take photo of the salmon which was my favourite dish*
My girlfriend and I had the new classics menu and I would say the food is deceptively filling as both of us were quite full. Everything is done really well and I was not disappointed with any of their dishes. The service and ambiance was great aswell. My only gripe is while we thought the water was on the house, it ended up being 11 dollars per bottle of water. Just bring your own water .
At least one person in your group should opt to upgrade to the dragon egg, it is very sweet and coming out in the plate with smoke and watching the warm caremel crack it open is very entertaining
We ordered the chefs set menu. Was lovely food, very Japanese authentic. Serving size was very good as we were full by the end of the 5 courses. With dessert they even gave us a complimentary cupcake for our anniversary. Service was also great, very polite staff and food arrived promptly. Would come back again!
