We came here for a quick, light dinner as we were going out to an event straight after and we can’t wait to come back for more! The food was amazing, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent as well with staff explaining all the dishes, making recommendations on the food and drinks which were spot on. Highly recommend �
This place is absolutely amazing!!! Love the atmsosphere with some of my favourite songs/bands like Nirvana playing in the background. The food is to die for as well and I could’ve ordered everything on the menu!!! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, particularly if you’re looking for a fancy new cocktail or spirit to drink!
We had the $59 trust us omakase. It was a lovely night, the food was tasty and unique, but none of them particularly stood out or left an impression. I think for most of these dishes it was 80% of the way to becoming a reaaally good dish, but the balance of the flavours or textures were a bit off or something was missing. The highlights were probably the miso corn cob, chicken tsukene and the burnt banana dessert. The pork hock was a winner when I got the juicy, fatty bits of pork, but when I got the hard, dry bits instead I was left feeling a bit dissatisfied. I think $59 is on the cheaper end of feed me type of courses, so I would say Kid Kyoto gives great value for money as the food was indeed tasty and presented interestingly. Also I had the signature yama yama cocktail and it was delicious and fresh, would recommend.

Made a reservation for 8.30 but was told it was 8.45 but luckily I har a confirmation email confirming it was booked for 8.30 and was seated straight away. The food and staff was great. The only down fall was a mocktail that was ordered did not come with a straw and when we asked the satff for a straw they told us the restaraunt ran out of straws so tje drink was not mixed properly and tasted horrible
Try the omakase - very good value. Delicious food (the watermelon sashimi and matcha ganache were stand-outs) but the service is patchy. Our waitress was excellent however some other staff was nonchalant.
Came here with as a group of 4. The waitress was really sarcastic and abit rude, food was amazing though.
The food came out at such a good pace despite how busy the restaurant was. The waiters were very attentive and the food was delicious. Unfortunately they ran out of the main wagyu dish so will be back to try that!

We ordered kingfish sashimi, caramélised pork hock and a few other dishes. The food was enjoyable and so was the service.
Pleasantly surprised. We were here on a Wednesday evening, made a booking but could have gotten away without one but the restaurant was moderately busy. They have bar seating and tables. Services is polite and pleasant.
Food was surprisingly good! We had the omakase because we just did not want to think about it and it is lashings of food. There is a 9 course option and a 11 course option. Opted for the 9 which was around $60pp. Kingfish sashimi, corn ribs, agedashi tofu and pork hock were yummo!
Can easily spend an evening here. Drink menu was good too.
Everything is delicious and I want more! So many delicious Japanese dishes with modern twists that surprise you every time. The highlight dish for me was the corn ribs - tasty and creative!
My favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Had the pleasure of going here with my family to and got the classics set menu and I have to say, every dish was sublime.
The photos shown highlight everything that we were given as part of the set menu (excluding the sushi rolls which we ordered separately).

Loved the experience and the food! Their presentation was amazing especially for the sashimi and the dragon egg dessert. The soft shell crab sushi was also super delicious!! The staff were nice although the service was a bit slow. Overall still a lovely experience and perfect for celebrations.
Had a great evening celebrating my birthday there with a friend. The food was amazing particularly the miso glazed tooth fish which melts in your mouth. The staff were friendly and made some really good recommendations on what to drink. This is another fine dining that I surely will be back.
This has immediately become our new favourite restaurant in Sydney! The food was out of this world delicious and came out so fast and hot - the drinks were equally amazing, specifically the Honey Ro was a highlight of mine. The oysters alone were the best we’ve had in Sydney, hands down. Perfect place for special occasions!
Came here as a party of 4 to celebrate my mum's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes and the customer service was really good too. The only downside was the wait for each dish was too long.

My girlfriend and I had the new classics menu and I would say the food is deceptively filling as both of us were quite full. Everything is done really well and I was not disappointed with any of their dishes. The service and ambiance was great aswell. My only gripe is while we thought the water was on the house, it ended up being 11 dollars per bottle of water. Just bring your own water .
At least one person in your group should opt to upgrade to the dragon egg, it is very sweet and coming out in the plate with smoke and watching the warm caremel crack it open is very entertaining
We ordered the chefs set menu. Was lovely food, very Japanese authentic. Serving size was very good as we were full by the end of the 5 courses. With dessert they even gave us a complimentary cupcake for our anniversary. Service was also great, very polite staff and food arrived promptly. Would come back again!
