Review Four In Hand - Sydney

Sixfoot & Salty
Beautiful local pub with an extensive menu serving some really delicious food. The calamari was absolutely outstanding and the most tender I have had in ages. The porchetta had a beautiful crisp skin and tender inside. Hanger steak was tender and soft inside with a great rub packed full of flavour. Looking forward to a couple of those schnitzels and the awesome looking new menu.

Great food, generous servings - great quality pub food. A bit higher on the scale price wise but not exorbitant. A great local pub with finer meal options. Worth checking out - it definitely would be quite busy in the evenings so I’d suggest making a reservation.

Fab cosy, neighborhood pub. Good selection of beer, happy hour offers, a varied menu and plenty seating in a variety of rooms so it doesn't lose its cosiness. Staff are really friendly too.

Booked for 645pm Friday night with a swans game on. Very strict at the door about booking or not. I would suggest it doesnt seem like a walk in pub... ordered beers from an okay selection from tap, no sours on tap. Food was good. We ordered the lamb shoulder (which take about 45 mins to come out) but it was good, great size for $79. The gnoocchi that we ordered we think they forgot it as it was too crispy on the outside and gooey inside and when we followed up the order they rushed it out... not worth $25. Steak was good quality and a large serving of fries. Would recommend if you have booked. Security were friendly, other staff not so much.

Not a fan. Too many TVs on too loud. Could be a cool place as the decor is good, food is great and beer selection pretty good too. I'd love to find a pub with no TV at all. But then I am a miseryguts who doesn't like sport.

It a pub that's poorly run They have a women and a bloke that reserve the same seat at the bar everyday. If this women dosent like anything she complained to the staff who response as if it was the queen speaking . They have lost me coz of her. I would attend that pub 7 days a week, no probs to drop 1 or $2.000 a week on the pokies. IV seen 6 building workers just get up and go elsewhere just be caused she complained I thought it was a pub not a church hall Regards

Nestled in the hack streets of Paddington this beautifully renovated pub is perfect for a relaxing meal and drink. It has a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails so you won't be disappointed. The real star here is the food, well presented, cooked to perfection and utterly. Good luck trying to find food you don't want to try. The lamb shoulder for two is divine and paired with the duck fat potatoes and carrots side dish you will be happy.

Lamb shoulder is to die for. It's plenty for two and everything is marvellous. Sit upstairs for quiet or downstairs for a more usual pub vibe. Selection of beers is also great, 25 taps.

We had a disappointing experience today at the Four in Hand. My wife and I were booked in for Mothers Day lunch, with our 1 yr old in tow. Knowing the FIH I was a bit concerned about taking a young child, so I flagged he was joining us at the time of booking and requested a high chair. The day before I rang up to confirm and again mentioned that we would definitely need a high chair, the staff member said that was no problem at all, was flagged against our reservation and would be ready and waiting. So we turned up today, looking forward to a nice meal, but was informed that they only had 1 high chair and that was in use by another table. To their credit the staff did try and find a solution for us (tried to find one from another venue, offered a normal chair for him), but it's nigh on impossible to keep a 1 yr old stationary without a high chair, so unfortunately we had to leave and get lunch somewhere else (not easy on Mothers Day when everything is booked out weeks in advance). If it was any other day and we hadn't booked this wouldn't be an issue, but it was pretty disappointing considering I had specifically requested a high chair on multiple occasions and been told that we would definitely get one, and it was Mothers Day when I was trying to do something a bit special for my wife. A real shame as we were looking forward to it :(

Food was very ordinary, meat was dry, and a bunch of young guys pissed and effin and blindin for the whole lunch with no management to ask them to refrain even tho the rest of the bar was uncomfortable... don't go here for food or to relax.. it was pretty sh#*

More or less traditional pub style restaurant meals for carnivores (but also lobster!), executed with perfection. Every mouthful of each dish was a delight. Looking forward to going back!

The Four in Hand (4-in-Hand) hotel, pub, almost formal dining, and eatery is your place away from home. I certainly would drive any distance (and I have!) just to arrive simply because the people who run it are top choice. Serious in everything they do, or, "very professional" yet never too much so as forget to say "Hello." The Four in Hand Hotel is smack dab in Paddo, really about 1 or so blocks from Trumper Park. Who me? I love the place and is normally the first place I go to immediately after arriving at Mascot.

Toss the boss is fun. Love the idea of sitting at the bar itself. Great friendly staff, and nice cold beer. Very slow service though, as Only 2 bar staff on at there busiest time of 4-5pm on Sunday.. Bar menu is a bit expensive though. $28 for a Sunday roast is way to expensive.

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! Loved the crab and marrow, duck spread was delectable, the beef brisket and tuna melted in the mouth and a big thanks to Oliver for his excellent suggestions as sommelier, it topped off a perfect night for myself and Leona. Can't recommend this highly enough! Kind regards James MacPhee

Brilliant menu & food. Outstanding service, I actually get excited about coming here every time I book. Highly recommend the degustation menu or the Chef's Menu. The slow cooked lamb or pork roast is unbeatable as we'll. I would highly recommend to anyone.

My son and I were working in Sydney last week and had dinner at your pub on Thursday evening. My son commented that his steak was one of the best my son had ever had and the snitty I had was brilliant. Excellent pub ,thanks

Hey guys, had lunch here today with some friends for my birthday. One of the worst meals I have had in a long time! Over priced and badly cooked! What's going on? The food used to be so good. You guys need to sort it out or you'll have no customers left. Even the beer tasted watered down! Won't be back unfortunately.

Good Paddo pub but better pub food to be found.

Black pudding and bacon sandwich was awful. The bread was from a $1 loaf from Coles. Bacon was extremely salty and chewy. Black pudding wasn't great but it's hard to get right. Look like it was just thrown on the plate. Couldn't finish it it was that bad. Expected much better.
