The Owl House’s new digs on Victoria Street manage to keep the same cosy ambience as the former Crown Street bar. Rather than a narrow terrace, it’s now a dugout bar, tucked between Monkey Magic and Darlinghurst’s best sourdough pit stop, Infinity Bakery.

The degustation menu is fantastic, with a delectable selection of food and wine pairings. We deeply enjoyed the gnocchi, brick pastry prawns, and ox-tail croquette. The cocktails are also delicious.

The degustation menu is six small plates with matching cocktails (served as halves). You can have matching wine, but don't bother, the cocktails are the main gig and it's fun to think through how they match the dish
