Randomly stumbled across this place and decided to walk in and it was honestly a great decision. The mushroom gnocchi was beautiful and the meat just cooked to perfection. I mean presentation could've been improved a little for the meat but this thing was so succulent and juicy, I just can't complain. The low light environment is perfect for dates. Staff were friendly and prices were mediocre, about $110 for this meal.

Walking past here on a Friday evening, we were lucky enough to get a table for 7 people with a last minute cancellation. Things are looking up! We started with a limoncello like cocktail to start the meals. The ambience was lovely, service was good and they were sneaky to bring out the slow roasted prime rib when we were um and ahing over the menu. Highlights: the food - no complaints from the table and was told the calamari was the best of our party have ever tasted - high praise! Lowlights: struggling to find any...

My fave steak place in Sydney. I have been 3 or 4 times now and have had reasonably consistent experiences. I have to deduct a star because service is slow.

Made the mistake of coming for lunch on a work day. We turned up at 12 and were literally the only diners there. We ordered straight away. It took 1 hour to receive the food from the time of ordering. Also, the most recent time I went I had the wedges which were way too salty. It was salty to the point it was obvious there had been a mishap in the kitchen which is disappointing given the price point. We were already running late with lunch so no time to send them back.

Lovely cosy basement restaurant with exposed brick walls and tall back leather chairs serving steak and a range of other dishes including fish and pasta with an extensive (albeit somewhat pricey) wine list. I thoroughly enjoyed the 300g prime rib cooked medium rare that was melt in your mouth tasty. My wife had the Barramundi which was top notch also. Sides of twice cooked potatoes, broccolini and the gorgeous bread rounded out lovely meal washed down with a glass of red and a beer. Service was friendly but a little slow on the drinks whereas we did not receive our second glass of wine hence 4 rather than 5 stars but we did really enjoy our meal here.

We had charcoal grilled king prawn for starter, it was good but definitely had better ones else where. For main we ordered fillet (medium rare) and wagyu rump(medium), both grilled to perfection, hubby said it was the best steak he had this year. We both liked the wagyu rump more, it’s more flavorful and very tender.

After hearing so many good things about this place, we finally made a reservation and thought we should try it out. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is amazing. Every table was full of people, laughing, conversating, drinking. The music was appropriate and the restaurant is very dark with lamps on each table. It creates the perfect vibe.

We were half an hour late but the staff were still very accommodating and placed us on a table straight away. Our waiter set the table and gave us our menus and took the drinks order.

The Long Island Ice Tea w pineapple juice and Strawberry Daiquiri was delicious, as expected. I tried their Strawberry Sunset mocktail which was very refreshing as well. We ordered the Fried Calamari as a starter (amazing) but didn't manage to get a picture because I was so hungry. For main we ordered the 1kg Rib Eye on the Bone and because my partner likes his steak well done, it took over an hour (which we were fine with). Our friends also ordered it medium.

While we were waiting for our mains and sides to come out, they offered us fresh bread and "truffle" butter to snack on. The steaks were probably the best I've ever had and the sides were not too bad either.

The whole bill came to $501 but was definitely worth it. Only reason why I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because they charged us for 3 bottles of still water at $11 each. The waiter kept refilling our cups with water without even asking if we wanted any. If I knew each bottle was $11, I would have just ordered another mocktail... $33 for bottled water is a bit ridiculous. That should be free. Other than that, I'll be returning again probably for a special occasion or for my next birthday dinner.

They have david blackmore wagyu steak here! Yum! Cooked to perfection. Service was good and some of the other appetisers were also quite appetising.. but wine is overpriced and the side of veges quite bland and undercooked.. chairs altho comfy are also being quite jaded...hence the score of 4 and not 5.

If you love meat then you need to get yourself here ... Thick cut meats from Angus to wagyu all cooked perfectly with delicious sides. Even better you can book via Dimmi and get 50% off the food bill on selected time and dates. Even full price is worth it ... Been here 3 times already.

The Cut is a renowned and award winning steakhouse located at The Rock.
I love the condiments and the steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare. Wish the fries could be thinner like Rockpool shoestring fries.. but i enjoyed it thoroughly. Great service too!

An amazing experience from start to finish. As you enter through the curtain and walk down the stairs through to the mysterious, dimly lit & moody room it sets the scene for a nice intimate experience. You are met by the friendly host who introduces you to the staff that seat you at your table. You are then greeted by your friendly waitstaff. Whilst we were perusing the menu a friendly waiter came around with their cart showcasing their special slow cooked prime rib to which we ordered alongside the ricotta gnocchi as it looked devine when I saw it from another table. We also ordered oysters to start & the pumpkin & green sides. The prime rib steak is cooked more on the med-rare side and was slightly a little too rare for my liking, having said that I still enjoyed it. The gnocchi was also good but had quite a lot of squash. For dessert we shared the apple tart which was so crispy & tasty! It didn’t look very appealing but it was so good! Service was very friendly, professional & attentive & our glasses were always topped up without having to ask. This is a great place for an intimate dinner or even in a group to which they cater for. Overall a great experience & would recommend to try this place out.

This was a great night out - it's great restaurant for steaks. It's not the best quality steaks, but still pretty good. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. It's not great value, but it's what you can expect from the Rock Pool Group - a little bit of manufactured rarity. There's a cart of meat they push around and try and sell you a cut off of that meat: don't feel pressured to buy this, think of it not as a recommendation, but more as a poor wait staffer forced to put on a spectacle; nod, smile and politely decline to move past that distraction. The sides were great and the atmosphere was not as noisy as I expected. The space is intimate and dark; the wait staff were knowledgable and friendly.

We planned to have nice dinner on Saturday evening at this haven of carnivore in Sydney and arrived a bit early than our booked time. The service from floor staff was efficient and good but nothing to be amazed of, considering the fine-dining price level of the place. The ambience was nice and relaxing with darker lighting, so a good setting for couple's date nights. We ordered charcuterie of wagyu bresola, jamon serrano w/ manchego cheese and QLD king prawns grilled with butter as starter dishes and they're all good, especially the QLD prawns which we think the best dish of the evening. The main dishes were their signature slow-cooked prime rib and the toothfish and prawn cooked in nice butter sauce. Both dishes were good but the prime-rib was a bit too generous in portion of 300 grams especially considering it was a rich, fatty cut. I wish it could come in smaller cut of 200 grams. The toothfish was an excellent dish and in a perfect portion though. We also ordered wines by the glass and they have quite extensive options in their beverage menu. Their prices are a bit on the expensive side even considering their good settings and good quality of food ingredients. In addition, customers also still have to pay stupid 1 to 1.5% credit card surcharge which is quite annoying in the fine-dining setting.

An institution for steak in Sydney. Good char on all their savory dishes, but they also play the slow cooking game well with a beautifully slow cooked prime rib available on my visit. Surprisingly the dessert was also perfectly executed, the classics of tiramisu and creme brulee are played straight and are a winner as well.

While this place is known for great steak, its not all they do!! Had some fresh oysters to start with as well as pippis yum!! Not only is food great, so to were the cocktails and mocktakls and of course the service is impeccable. The dimly lit dining room with large tables gives it such a grand feel.. so even though its quite open you don't feel like you're in the space of other diners. Will definitely be back to try the other menu items.

A bit of a hit and miss here. We loved most of the dishes however we also didn’t like some of them. You walk down the stairs and open the red curtain to reveal the dimly lit restaurant. When you get ushered to your table the chairs are these huge things which look real inviting. Reminds us of a Vikings dining room. We order everything that yells out on the menu and a little more. We absolutely love the grilled baby octopus, so juicy and tender. The wagyu rump was the star of the night, melting in your mouth kind of goodness. The shoestrings fries were perfect and the creamed spinach with gruyere cheese was a surprise. You can never go wrong with oysters to start. And it was a great end with the silky smooth creme brulee. We didn’t enjoy the signature cut which was a slow cooked rib off the bone wagyu, this was unevenly cooked, the outside was delicious, however the centre was very rare and chewy. This was carted around to each table on a trolley so you could see the whole chunk of meat and then it was carved to each order. The beef carpaccio was also a bit of a miss, not sure about the flavours that were going on in there. All in all it was pretty average, for the price it should be well above average. However we are sure we will return in the future, the wagyu rump saved the day.

One of the best steak house in Sydney! A variety of meats on offer, the also have seafood and heaps of sides available. Bonus: Book on The Fork AU to get 50% off on all food. They have a full bar with great service and delicious food. Let say I have been here about 6 times and they are always a good feed with the discount. The wagyu and Angus is a must order, tender juicy meat. @asianfoodninja #asianfoodninja

I was a little frustrated about not being able to reach the restaurant when I called so I walked to the restaurant since I was nearby and gave a bit of attitude. I got an old fashioned to settle the mood and open the taste buds and I was in heaven from there. The food was delicious, steak was very well cooked and a fantastic cut, the wine (2013 Rockford ‘Rod and Spur’ Shiraz Cabernet) was a perfect choice and thankfully was available by the glass. The dessert was fantastic and really finished everything off well. It wasn't a small bill for one but it was definitely a fantastic experience and I would definitely go back again. Thank you for a great night.
