Although there’s bit of queue at lunchtime, I frequent this place whenever I want to grab some sushi. It’s cheap, fast and satisfies me. My go to is usually salmon, tuna and soft shell crab rolls and I’m never disappointed.
A must go to place for sushi. They have the best sushi in sydney. The ambience of the place is amazing and the services are the best thing about the place. Must visit.
Small restaurant on Stanley st with great value for money. Usually very busy during peak hours so would suggest getting in early or going during non peak hours. Personally love the chicken teriyaki and cucumber roll and its a bargain for its size. Also the salmon is on point, both raw and aburi. Can tell the chefs take care buying and prepping the best fish. Definitely one of the best value to cost ratios in Sydney.
Great value for money without compromising the size and flavour of the food. Very small place but the hard-working staff try their best to accommodated everyone nicely
Affordable and delicious! Very small restaurant but serves traditional tasting Japanese food! The spicy salmon salad is super good! Would definitely come again
The sushi here is on point! Best sushi I have had. I usually get the cooked tuna and avocado roll, they are always fresh and taste delicious. I always buy takeaway though because the place is tiny and very squishy even when waiting to order you have to step side by side to let the waiters through.
Delicious, not very cheap but competitive prices incomparison to other sashimi restaurants. Great quantity and quality. All dishes taste amazing.
My love for sushi has no limit and it gives me immense joy to discover a great sushi place. Beautiful, fresh sushi and value for money. It’s a small place which is always packed. A definite must for everyone.

If you go after 6:30pm usually expect crowds so get ready to wait around for a bit.
In Sydney it is hard to find fresh delicious Japanese cuisine for a good price. At most places you end up spending about $70 or more for three people.
Sushi On Stanley has had consistently had great prices for the last...8 years that I have been visiting.
I used to go here almost every week for a Friday lunch as I worked around the corner. Excellent combo sets for cheap, fresh Nigiri, hand rolls, Udon etc, some good vegetarian choices also.
Going at peak lunch and dinner times is probably not a good idea as there is probably only about 8 tables in the whole place (2 outside).
Can't go wrong with Sushi On Stanley!

One of the best sushi places I've been to. Everything was prepared perfectly and was really fresh and tasty.
I ordered, spicy dumplings and the spice level was perfect for what I like personally, salmon sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken rolls, a medium sashimi plate, karaage chicken salad, and miso soup.
No complaints.
The staff are very busy preparing and taking orders so don't be shy to approach them for what you need.

Been coming to sushi on Stanley for many years now and l have only been disappointed once in all those years and all those meals!! Top quality and mouth watering food!! Highly recommend you come try their bento boxes or sushi rolls!! Yummmmmmmmmm
Great service and lovely food. Very affordable and a more authentic Japanese vibe to the place. Never been to japan but it has that vibe none the less. I imagine this is what it’s like there. I love the rustic food and you can bring your own booze. Highly recommend this place 😊❤️
Sushi for great value. Excellent selection of sushi and other Japanese food (appetisers, Bento sets, teriyaki, etc).
Place is a bit small so be prepared to wait, or it people generally get takeaway.
Also, portions are on the smaller side so if you are used to bigger portions, you might need to order more.
IMHO, value is on the teriyaki Bento sets, and make sure your add some 50 cents or $1 single "sushi rolls".
