Awesome food and ambience..the place run by Pratap and his family is like a temple serving simple good food! The dal was amazing and so were the other dishes. With them signing you off with Hare Krishna after the meal.

I got a groupon voucher to try this place with the combo movie+ indian vegetarian buffet.  The movie room is funny. You lie down on the floor on soft pillow. It is very comfortable but I almost fell asleep. After the movie you access to the dining room were you can find a big indian vegetarian buffet. I was not expecting to have really good food there as it was not very expensive but in fact there is a lot of choice and the curries and indian meals are really good and not too spicy. There is also some sides and salad, and it is a all you can eat buffet so you can have a bit of everything. I will come come for a lazy night

This place was on my try list for a while. It's a value for money place: the food is okay and you get to watch a movie. Ambience: the tables are packed together so it's hard getting around and the place is crowded. Service is okay, people are warm. It's a self serve buffet and the buffet area is small, so you have to be patient in getting food.

Such a great night. Gorgeous vegetarian food and great service. Dim lighting makes it a super cosy and perfect for a relaxing night out. Comfy cinema and such a bargain price.

I love this place. Yeah, you could find more inspiring vego food elsewhere. But seriously you can't go past the deep fried cauliflower w their mango chutney. Yum. It's an institution - grab your cheap vego feast then go upstairs for a lie-down movie :)

It had been a while since the last time we visited Govinda’s to see The Martian in their movie room after an unlimited vegetarian buffet dinner. We came across another one of their Groupon deals so this time, we booked a time slot to see the movie Sully which, on a side note, is worth a watch.

The food is tasty and there is a variety of curries, soup, salads and fried finger food to try.
The buffet is self service but we found it pretty difficult to get more water as there was really only the maitre d' around who was busy with reservations/clearing tables.
Their cheesecake is quite heavy and difficult to finish (especially after trying all the options in the buffet).

Initially I found my first Govinda's experience an odd one. I barely knew what to expect and after spending 15 minutes lined into a squishy queue on a continuing staircase I was feeling cautious. We'd opted for a movie and dinner package here and decided to eat after the movie. Cinema seating is made up of overly-wide lounge seating where shoes come off and you should be prepared to get cosy with your neighbours. These guys don't really work to a capacity and more or less manage numbers as people take their places. If seats are full you get refunded.

The food at Govinda's is a vegetarian buffet, and is surprisingly amazing. There were a few twists on the favourites but we overate as everything was so moreish. They cater with indian dishes and some more basic vegetarian dishes like salads, potato gratin and breads etc. They had a sambar-like dhal, a beautifully creamy spinach and broccoli curry and some delicious cauliflower pakoras. The flavours here were really good and the dinner was a fine note to finish on. The dining room itself is made up of basic seating but low lighting and the decor create a beautiful cosy ambience.

Govinda's is not licensed however a range of drinks are available in addition to the cost of dinner & movie. $80 will cover you for a spectacular dinner, a movie shared for two, and an experience that is different to your norm.

This is a great date night experience which I can recommend for everyone. The food is superb, delicious and great value for money. Although it's not a massive selection, it's still great and you can easily spend over 1 hour trying everything there is. The cinema is a little crammed feeling but overall a unique and enjoyable experience. Staff are friendly, although service was a bit slow at points due to how busy it was, we were still served.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Soft spoken, respectably dressed. Buffet, unlimited main items. Drinks and dessert or sweet dishes are additional charge. Good place for a couple or family with children. Close to public transport, trains and buses. In house exotic movie screening with additional charges. In nutshell, a greatly satisfying experience. 🙏🙏🙏

This place is so amazing and unique! It’s an Indian inspired buffet with a cinema?! So cool!!! Mainly vegan, 80 percent gluten free ( environmentally friendly and caters to allergies) in a nice affordable restaurant! They also compost their food! 10/10

The fried cauliflower was an absolute star, we couldn’t have enough of it! The other dishes were tasty but lacked the spiciness of Indian cuisine. We enjoyed the movie experience.

Absolutely fantastic meals prepared with so much love and great service. Vegetarians have blast here. Food,+ movies is a very economical combination too. We watched Top Gun maverick.

I been here twice within a month and for the quality and quantity of this vegetarian buffet (with some vegan options) you just can't go wrong. It is the same menu everyday but with dhal, rice, vegan meatballs, various curries, plus a few salads, pompadum, and potatoes and fried food. You can be very full for just $25. Add just $20 to enjoy a movie with cozy seats that beats other cinema experiences. Friendly staff, buffet don't include drinks, and they accept ServiceNSW dine vouchers, you can't go wrong with this restaurant any day of week!
