A very different experience of Japanese food. Love the fried tofu, their eggplant dish is my absolute favourite and sushi the is available with white or brown rice. Love the atmosphere the service is fast, wine, cocktails and beer great to accompany this great food. So many yummy dishes to chose from at Zushi.
My son had his 40th party at Zushi on Saturday night. Food was excellent and never stopped coming. Staff were attentive and kept us topped up with wine and champers. Beautiful position overlooking the water. Congratulations to Zushi for a great night. Would recommend to anyone for great food and a great assortment of drinks to choose from.
Amazing food, friendly service...best cocktails! In such a great position, I strongly recommend heading the for lunch or dinner!
I just had my birthday dinner here tonight and it absolutely made my day. Fresh sushi, perfectly seared wagyu, and the very unique zushi sake! It was a good way to end my night. One for the books indeed! Fave resto eveeerrrr!!
PS. I have to add...amazing amazing amazing staff! Everyone is so lovely.
I had my birthday dinner here on Sunday night and couldn't have asked for a better night. There was so much food and it was all delicious. The staff were so lovely and helpful, nothing was a problem. They even let us have seperate drink bills which made sorting the bill at the end of the night so easy. I will definitely be back soon!

Great location. Incredible food, great place to share so you get to try everything! Friendly and efficient staff ensure an amazing experience. Absolutely love this place will be back many many times!
We had lunch yesterday beautiful food excellent service best view I will deffenitly go back
Had lunch with the girls there yesterday and it was fab! We ordered 6/7 dishes and everything was wonderful. All the food was so fresh and tasty. The wine & cocktails and our service was all great. A perfect meal.
Visiting from Sweden and had our New Year's Eve dinner and the best Japanese food ever!!Service was great and so was the whole menu. The fresh oysters, seard scallops with edamame purée, great sashimi and yummy balmain big tempura!
Food was out of control good. Fresh sushimi and prawns. Service was excellent. Kirin beer cold and fresh and cocktails spot on too. 5 out of 5!
Great food, great atmosphere, great service!
Amazing service - the waiters were all very attentive and friendly. Sashimi was extremely fresh and the sushi rolls and chicken katsu was just delicious. The yuzu sorbet was a great way to finish the meal.
Great location, friendly staff and lovely food.

I've tried many of the venues at Barangaroo and am going to Zushi for the first time. There's also a Zushi in Surry Hills which I've had friends recommend to me previously. I'm going to Zushi with a group of work colleagues on a Friday. It's a warm day and Barangaroo is buzzing full of mostly corporate people lunching this particular Friday. We order a number of dishes to share. The atmosphere is relaxed by the water and there's sunshine.
Came here for lunch on a weekend, the place is not too crowded but i really liked the view as it’s river view and very strategic place at barangaroo along with other restaurants
Ordered the spider roll, ocean roll, pork gyoza, and kara-age
I really liked the spider roll, it has soft shell crab for the filling and the kara-age is very nice too. The best thing is the honey mayo sauce for the kara-age. Can’t get enough of it
Price wise, i think it’s kinda average because of the good service, big portion and the location
Would definitely come back again
Great location on the water for a Sunday arvo lunch.
We had the wasabi margarita, which was a cool little deconstructed cocktail.
For food we shared the kingfish sashimi, snapper sashimi, prawn dumplings, pulled pork Boa and steamed barramundi with rice. Plenty of food for the three of us. The fish was fresh and delicious, though kingfish was cut slightly too thick for me. Dumplings were more like a fried prawn but delish and juicy as none the less.
Perfect outings for groups.
Seasame sauce on the spinach is super nice. Kingfish sashimi is also pretty good. Other dishes in the $65 tasting menu is just ok. However, the tempura’s coat is too thick and a bit oil.
My family wanted something a bit cheaper in Barangaroo so I convinced them on sushi. Zushi has a typical Barangaroo layout of mostly undercover dining. Food didn’t overly impress me but I did dine with picky eaters who didn’t want to order sashimi etc. Zucchini flower tempura; zucchini flower and dash sauce $24
In a nutshell Zushi Barangaroo is perfectly situated on the waterfront, has a contemporary Japanese style fit out, lovely and helpful staff with damn good food to match. The food is modern Japanese and it’s not just sushi and sashimi. On the menu are dishes like miso toothfish (pictured), tempura balmain bug (pictured) and a divine seafood okonomiyaki (pictured) with a honey mayo. I could have eaten the okonomiyaki all to myself but alas I had to share. I love their use of Australian produce and ingredients and it feels very Sydney to be sitting by the water and eating seafood sushi. Their drinks list is extensive and includes sake, cocktails, sake cocktails as well as biodynamic and organic Australian wines. I am looking forward to going back and trying other dishes, especially the bao buns. #zushi
Awesome location by the wharf! Their sashimi was great - tender and fresh. I really enjoyed the kingfish sashimi and the miso cauliflower exceeded my expectations.
Great location for this outdoor restaurant. We ordered Japanese beer and Bento Boxes which were delicious.
The desserts were beautiful to look at but did not taste as they looked.
Perfect location with excellent service. This place is exceptional. The food presented is like art work . Well thought out menu with excellent selection of cocktails. If l get the opportunity again l would definately go back.
Wow! Zushi Barangaroo really does not disappoint. I have always wanted to try this restaurant and this average Wednesday evening seemed like the perfect opportunity. I have only ever rated one other Sydney restaurant five stars (Sushi E) and I have to say that Zushi is totally up there! The spider roll (soft shell crab) was great, along with the deep fried seafood dumplings. The grilled scallops with yuzu foam and brown butter were next level fantastic, and the matcha cheesecake was the perfect finish. The service was speedy and the staff were great. Oh, and the drinks menu is all kinds of great.. but you’ll need to see that for yourself. Will 100% return shortly.
Food here is great and if you sign up to the newsletter online you get a free sushi roll on your next visit! Definitely recommend coming here in groups so you can try a variety of dishes but the rolls are really a must!
Among the line up of restaurants on the waterfront in Barangaroo is Zushi, a modern Japanese restaurant. With a view of the glistening harbour, we couldn't go past the Sashimi boat. Zushi's version certainly did not disappoint. The sashimi was wonderfully fresh and the variety reminded me of what you would find in Japan. The sea-urchin and scallop were some of my favourites.
Zushi has a great outdoor open eating space just off the water in Barangaroo. Sushi rolls were fresh and delicious, as was the Salmon Soba. Service was a bit lacking on the day that we were there, but the great food and delightful ambiance made up for it. It is a bit on the pricier end, but quite typical of the area it's located in. Definitely sign up to their newsletter for some delicious food perks (we did!).
Certainly enjoyed the sashimi tacos and karagge chicken. The brown rice in sushi was a little on the dry side but unique to conventional sushi. Would recommend the Wagyu sushi roll to try. Food took awhile to come out one by one but otherwise service was still great
Lovely meal. Went there for Father’s Day lunch, they have a tasting menu, money worth it. We ordered A la carte as well. Would recommend particularly tempura and pork ribs - good sauce.
“Ohhh yumm” that’s the first thing which comes to my mind when I think about Zushi. Even though I’m a vegetarian and have not tried seafood ever. The vegie bento box was AMAZING, the different varieties and flavour when came together, it felt like a carnival in my mouth. The location is perfect opposite the Barangaroo ferry and it’s a few mins walk from Darling Harbour. The weather was really good and the place wasn’t crowded at all during lunch time.
Lovely lunch along Barangaroo Wharf on such a sunny day! Tried the sashimi tacos and they were so deliciously light and tasty, such a delight for lunch by the water and in the sun. My lunch guest ordered the salmon bento which looked delicious and filling. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend for a casual lunch or dinner especially when the weather is glorious.
We came here with a few friends for a catch up dinner! The service was great and our favourite picks including the popcorn chicken (which we ordered two bowls) all the assorted sushi rolls - great serving size. And we were so surprised with the honey prawn. The prawns were huge and so fresh wrapped in a beautiful honey glaze!
This is a great restaurant to grab a cocktail from their drinks list (or get a jug) and have a few dishes to share amongst the group!
Beautiful location in the heart of Barangaroo, spacious dining area with out door dining overlooking the harbour available - I do definitely recommend booking a table if you are dining on the weekend as it does fill up fairly quick and they also do have a very long wait list.
We ordered items to share on the a la carte menu & they also offer degustation as well.
Highlight of the night dishes were the chicken karage - juicy chicken with a delicious crispy batter, the scallop carpaccio with white truffle oil was absolutely amazing and a must!!! And also the pulled pork bao, flavoursome pork which melts in your mouth on a fluffy, light bao bun.
The average dishes were the king fish carpaccio, oysters (these two dishes were sadly room temperatures which we did not enjoy eating at all) and the zucchini flower which lacked flavour overall.
Do try their karate kid cocktail as well!!
Overall experience was fantastic! Really enjoyed the view and ambience as well as their friendly service from all wait staff!
Food: Pretty good on the whole. Nice to get lots of things to share.
Location: Excellent views overlooking the water....great for a long lunch.
Service: Very good, we ended up staying hours...transitioned from lunch to an early dinner and they didn’t rush us along. As a result, we stayed and spent a lot of money eating and drinking over several hours.
I love this place for dinner or lunch, both good! Recommendations : sashimi, salmon avocado tapas and the lychee jug, it’s a bit pricy but worth it
Situated along the promenade, Zushi offers a neat selection of Japanese dishes and drinks. We ordered the sushi + sashimi (20pc), pork gyoza, miso salmon, yuzu scallop, tiger roll and finished the night with the salted caramel affogato and the matcha cheesecake. Food wise, everything was amazing except the miso salmon, which was a major disappointment as I am a huge fan of anything miso including miso cod and grilled miso eggplant. The miso salmon at Zushi was unfortunately bland in flavour and presentation.
Highlights of the meal would definitely be the sushi / sashimi, gyoza and desserts (such a dense matcha cheesecake!).
Service was good in the beginning of the night however it was hard to flag down staff later on as the restaurant is a very loud place with a casual ambience.
All in all, still a very enjoyable experience.
Sidenote: the restaurant is a on the pricier side of casual dining.
I love their foods in here.. we ordered sashimi tacos and wagyu roll.
The sashimi was so refreshing 👌🏻 something i would come back for
Service was quick and in love the location
Westernized tasty rolls, liked the Ocean roll but nothing spectacular. The drinks are on the other hand very light and fresh! Great for a daytime outing. Karate kid was very tasty as well as the cucumber breeze!
Date night here on a Saturday night. The waitresses were lovely. Oysters fresh and delicious. Kingfish carpaccio missed the spot for flavour as well as the scallop carpaccio. Salmon sashimi was 10/10 and miso salmon dish was divine! A little on the pricey side too. Would go back as the decor and ambience is lovely, but perhaps order something different next time.
Decent food on the strip of restaurants in Barangaroo. Great for a healthy dinner but portions are quite small. Must get the sticky date dessert with matcha ice cream - so good! Matcha cheesecake was quite rich, but as a green tea lover, was quite a fan.
Great ambience and delicious food! Definitely coming back for more!! The staff was very well informed about the menu and provides excellent customer service, rainbow roll and unagi were the highlights for me
Zushi is a great Japanese restaurant, serving fresh seafood of high quality. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and location is cozy, with great ambience.
Incredible experience!! Went to Zushi for my 3 year anniversary and they certainly exceeded my expectations. The food was mouth watering and the price was reasonable for the amount we got at such a nice restaurant. Favourites were the Sashimi tacos, Snapper sashimi and the dessert!Atmosphere was amazing and staff were exceptional. Loved every moment of my time at Zushi Barangaroo! Will definitely be back!!
The store has a great atmosphere and provides some nice views of Barangaroo. Really enjoyed the nigiri and sushi selections. However, the scallop carpaccio had a weird combination of flavours that I didn't think complimented one another - Pretty to look at but I really disliked the taste of this dish.
I kept hearing of Zushi in Barangaroo and wondered how they’d managed it. Zushi in Surry Hills, just around the corner from me, is perfectly fine Japanese food, with good service, and a busy lunchtime crowd. It’s always been great, but it’s a casual place, and I don’t think people rave about it so much as consider it a good neighbourhood restaurant.
I love my birthday. As in, I REALLY freaking love my birthday. So it's somewhat annoying that Wolfie arrived two weeks early, interrupting my birthday weekend of celebrations in the first place, and that I will now forever spend my birthday weekend preparing for his birthday celebrations....
...Thankfully, the food at Zushi delivered on my Japanese cravings.
Do you remember something called Roller Coaster Sushi...? Cause I certainly do....!
Been past Zushi at Barangaroo a couple of time and always it's like oh best to avoid cause of that fiasco of a marketing event...but look since then we've been here twice on a routine of a starter, two rolls, sushi platter and tea. Is it on the pricey side? Well probably 10-15% more but your at Barangaroo of all places - live a little :)
Anyways onto the food...
Scallop Carpaccio - minimalism in a good way, just sliced scallops, citrus dressing, some salmon roe and then a light torch for colour - im a sucker for Aburi.
Sashimi Taco/Tartar thing...look we had this once and immediately it's "do we need that ball of yuzu granita on top - look it's shaved ice at best and at worse chunks of ice" mix it all together and your getting weird shards of ice and the feeling of eating fridge food. Unpleasant. Just give me the same Scallop dressing.
The rolls...beef wagyu roll with bits of fried carrot and that Japanese BBQ sauce is cute, simple and very pleasant. I mean it's made me far more comfortable to order beef sushi at other places too...and that's not a good thing - beef Wagyu rolls belongs here and only here. The other rainbow/salmon torched roll yea Standard - no surprises.
The sushi platter, very very good. First time was all the usual trimmings with double sea urchin then the second time was double imperador. Very good quality!
We had the most fantastic time at Zushi Banrangaroo. We loved the Sashimi tacos and Toothfish which was topped off with a fantastic Rosé. The service was spot on, the sunset was amazing and will definitely go back for more
Service was great, and location even better. Located in the new development of barangaroo the restaurant has waterfront views and is not crowded or noisy whatsoever.
Food is very very good, and service is prompt. However, drinks were a disappointment. Despite looking great, they are a little on the stronger side, definitely not what was expected. Otherwise, this restaurant is definitely worth coming back for.
The food is awesome and very very fresh! Cocktails is the one must have when you there. And highly recommend the peach green tea mojito. A little bit disorganised for the booking and with twi sides of entry queue which the staffs were confused who they need to serve first.
Love love loved dining at Zushi! 😍 I'm not a sushi fan so had some teriyaki chicken, great wagyu beef rolls - yumm! And a veggie stack of tomato, avocado, lemon sorbet and crackers. Also my first introduction to wasabi 🙈 I mistakenly took the blob of wasabi for a piece of avocado 🔥🔥🔥 I won't be doing that again! Thanks to my cuzzie for this treat. Prices were not too bad and with a stellar view how could you not love this place? Oh the Japanese lemon lime soda pop went down a treat. I loved the cute vintage pop bottle, where you have to break the seal by popping the glass marble just like they did in the 50s 😀

With a nicely egalitarian philosophy, brother and sister team Ray and Serena Ang, have adjusted all three of their restaurants to a core menu. This means you’ll experience no price hike for taking in their trademark Sashimi Tacos ($20) in the luxurious surrounds of Barangaroo. With a crowning ball of yuzu granita, this tower of salmon, tuna and avocado is made to be eaten al fresco, using crisp wonton scoops, in the great outdoors. The stylish space is designed by Koichi Takada; and like in so many other restaurants in their repertoire (Ocean Room, Ippudo), this team have employed wood to good effect. At Zushi Barangaroo, they’ve fashioned it into an elegantly curved louvered wall, reminiscent of a makisu, or sushi rolling mat. Appropriately it curves around the sushi counter, allowing the reflected golden light of the afternoon to frame their sushi chef.Sipping well-priced Kizakura Junmai Daiginjo ‘S’ Premium ($34/300ml) we enjoy watching the cleverly designed lighting take over its illumination as the sunlight fades. This is a lovely round sake with a rice-like beginning that is neither too sweet, nor too dry. Our attention is focused inwards because, despite this new batch of Barangaroo restaurants being pushed to open in time for Good Food Month, their waterfront view is still obscured. With the weird purple-blue lighting and the outlines of two pile driving barges, the late night mood is a little post apocalyptic - though thankfully for us evening diners, the noisy work finishes before 7pm. And while you might not be able to see the water, you can still immerse yourself in the sea with an eye-catching Sushi + Sashimi ($48) shared platter that presents ten pieces of nigiri sushi and ten pieces of sashimi. The firm texture and delicate flavour of...
