Been coming here for many years now and never fails to produce the best Slovak food ever! It’s great to have an authentic, great tasting Slovak eatery in Sydney especially as one as good as Tommy’s! 10/10 recommend
Gets an extra point for being doggie friendly. The sausage platter was yum as was the giant pork schnitzel and the duck was also a standout. Been a few times and always good. Get the passion fruit beer if your a cider fan - so good!
Possible real rating: 3.5/5
Winter can be brutal-ish in Sydney. So Eastern European food can cure the winter blues!
The small joint is cute and intimate. Well it is Glebe! We were told that our table, which I book a couple of days in advance, was upstairs. For drinks, I decided to get a special... mulled wine! A pure delight!
For entree, we decided to share the one metre sausage! And it was one metre! Oh my! Tasted pretty good but nothing special.
For main, I decided to get the Hungarian veal goulash, even though it is a Czech establishment! Veal was tender. Nicely spiced. The bread dumpling thing was soft. A true revelation!Tommy's is a nice establishment if you are after a heavy Euro grub in Glebe! I would probably come back. The all Czech staff could of been friendlier. I guess walking upstairs to carry heavy plates of food would probably ruin your emotional being!
Haven't been here in a few years and thought it's due to visit this place again. I'm so glad I did! One of the best meals I've had in a little while. Each dish served to us was freshly made and so scrumptious. Even though they were busy, our meals were served in a timely manner with no delays. I walked away feeling happy and more than satisfied. If you have never tried or looking for a good Czech and Slovakian restaurant, it can't get better than this. I highly recommend this place.
Dish 1: Freshly made pretzel
Dish 2: Roasted Duck with sweet red cabbage
Dish 3: Mixed platter with mash, sweet red cabbage and sauerkraut
Dessert: Apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and cream
Drinks: Gluhwine (German mulled wine) and Budbar (Czech Beer)

My previous favourite place for schnitzel and goulash was a Czech place but it shut down and maybe Tommy can't quite match the juicyness of the schnitzel and thickness of the batter but this is still better than any of the German places in Sydney. With mash and cabbage, the schnitzel is even good value. The goulash had really tender beef. Urquell on tap!
Though not labelled as a Czech restaurant, this place serves authentic Czech cuisine. My only gripe is tables a little close together and people bumping past me as I sat near the door. Other than that, food, drink and service here are excellent.
This is our 3rd visit here and we have always been happy with our meals.
This time round we ordered svieckova and pork belly. Both dishes were great. Good portion size, so we left feeling very satisfied!
Great place and ambiance. Loved the cottage feel of the place. The Swiss Veal Schnitzel was a treat. Paired with a great beer and we've got a winning combo.
Those Who Love To Eat

What a way to cool down then to go to Tommy's and have a cold beer and some food to eat, whilst sitting in the cool. As soon as you walk through the door, this place was buzzing with diners. The wait staff gets you at the door and tells you to sit anywhere you want, came with the menu but took quite sometime for them to get back to collect your order.
Anyhow...
When they finally took our order, we ordered a beer each to stay off with. The Golden Peasant was quite pleasant to drink, given that I seldom drink beer. My friend ordered the Czech cut, a dark beer that was surprisingly smooth in taste and a hint of sweetness.
We ordered one pretzel to share, that came out nice and warm with a small block of butter and a sausage platter. This was enough for two as it was stinking hot, and we didn't have a huge appetite. Went down nicely with the beers we ordered.
Anyhow... this month the have their limited Communist menu that I was interested in trying. The irony was... we never even bothered ordered from the specials menu after all that! Maybe this is an excuse for us to go back and try other stuff on their menu.
If you come here, say in a group of four, their metre long sausage looked like it was ordering. Maybe it could even feed two of the two parties were extra hungry!
One of the best beer gardens in Sydney. Great European Beers / Food and Friendly Staff. Always feel welcome here. A great casual place to unwind and have a few beers.
I Discover this place thanks to my Czech girlfriend. I was a bit skeptical to try It at first but now I want to go every weeks!
The quality of the food is TOP TOP TOP!! everything is delicious and the portions are quite big! the beer is amazing and they serve it in the typical pint jars!
I have meet the owner quite a few times and he is very cool, always making sure we have a great time!
5 stars!
Lovely lunch today at Tommy's. Staff extremely welcoming. The food made me miss my family and the beer selection was great! Definitely recommend. Not too far from Broadway. Czech food done right!! Will be back!
Been here a few times and it's always busy. This place has a rustic European feel to it. We didn't make a booking but they managed to squeeze us in. The service is very friendly, the food is nice, good portions and decent price for what you get.
Loved it. Great European food, great beer, and friendly staff. You know it's authentic when the staff talk to the locals in another language 😂. Cafe wouldn't be out of place somewhere in Eastern Europe.
Victor and Sofia are amazing hosts at this quiet little Gem tucked away south end of Glebe Point Rd...
Sadly a very wet night but fantastic rear Beer Garden would be ideal for larger family gatherings or friends...
DON'T let the tranquil quiet frontage fool you...
The Mushroom sauce is like nowhere else..
Beer choose is an education from the boring "conventional" normal choice at the suburban Sydney Pub...
Chicken snitzal was delicious ! Pretzel was nice and soft inside and was delicious too with the butter. Heaps of beer options available. We ready enjoyed the food here.
Found this place after all the other bar kitchens in the area had closed. Their kitchen closes at 10:30
Unique Eastern European-inspired interior with delicious generously portioned meals.
Victor and the blonde waitress were extremely friendly and made our night.
We will be back.
My schnitzel was a bit too chewy, and I think it would be great if staff uniforms were implemented.
Very good Czech restaurant in Sydney. We were able to eat even without reservation (Sat evening). Quick service. Authentic Czech food! I had vepro knedlo zelo (pork, sauerkraut, dumplings) and it tasted so good! It transported me back to my home country. Huge portions. Parking possible at shopping mall nearby. (Visited Feb 22)
