With its European share plates, French bistro tables and laneway setting, Ash St. Cellar transports you straight to the streets of St Germain in Paris.

Again, this all-day diner has some Merivale magic to it, located in Hemmes Ground Zero: the Ivy precinct. Yet, despite the showy location, Ash St. Cellar has oodles of style and sophistication, making it a relaxed and romantic dinner choice.

On the menu, you’ll find plenty of charcuterie and cheeses, and share plates like pork and veal meatballs, grilled octopus and taramasalata. The extensive wine list also deserves a round of applause.

What a nice surprise to find this place for dinner on my work trip. Great service, impressive wine list and the meatballs were so delicious.

Really enjoyed Ash St. Working in wine industry we were delighted by wine list and the interesting but simple accompanying menu. Waiting staff helpful to a tee.

Ash St Cellar is a lovely place to unwind over a glass of wine, with some nibbles on a summer evening. It's also a great spot to sit and watch the comings and goings from the Ivy.

Really enjoyed the food and ambiacne at Ash St Cellar last night. We dined before hearing the Nutcracker at City Recital Hall, Angel Place. Service was excellent. Felt like Europe.

The roll in Ash St. Cellar’s choripan – Argentinean style chorizo roll with romesco and aioli was also not the freshest tasting and the Boy ending up binning the roll, after eating the chorizo. I accidentally chose the Ash St. Cellar’s baked ricotta, fresh peas, lemon, mint and pinenuts. Now, I’m not the biggest ricotta fan, so I throw out the ricotta,

I also really really love Tapas. I often suffer from food envy, so I love the idea of being able to try lots of little dishes

It's the final remaining weeks of winter and the final run for Merivale Winter Feasts. I find myself at the ivy's wine bar, Ash St. Cellar, one night; chasing the great value in their winter deal yet seduced by the worldly wine list. Early in the evening,

At the launch party back in June, I was très impressed with plenty of dishes, but it was Ash Street Cellar's creamed snapper and fennel soup with gremolata that had me captivated. Without much persuasion, Wynn and her hubby John met Zen and myself there o

Nice atmosphere, good tapas and great sangria. The only downside is the portion of the food.

Italian cuisine, secretly hidden away. As we exited from the back door of building on Pitt Street, it was like discovering a parallel wizard’s universe in a Harry Potter film. Only that it’s bustling vibe was due it happy diners enjoying great food in a central and secluded location. The tables and ambience reminded of a Mediterranean bistro or trattoria, with a busy open kitchen and small intimate tables. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the Penfolds Chardonnay until late into the evening. For a Monday night, and to be so busy, it shows that this is a favourite local with business people downtown.

Really lovely menu, tables are a little small especially for how quickly the food can come out. Overall good was very delicious really enjoyed the dessert Cherry sorbet is bomb!!!

Nice atmosphere, food was pretty good, friendly service. Wouldn't recommend Chefs choice for $70pp... not a great mix and not saving anything vs picking separately.

Came for a light lunch, this restaurant is part of the ivy precinct. Staff are attentive and friendly. Love the sharing plate style menu. Food was tasty!

It was a cold wet Sydney evening and this place looked inviting with the outside heaters. Service was pretty quick. I tried their wild mushroom and truffle toastie with gruyere, then the chocolate parfait. Both were delicious!
