It’s so handy that Fix Wine Bar + Restaurant is right next door. The coffee is good and it’s always buzzing at happy hour. That would be due to it’s well stocked bar. I will have to head over to lunch sometime soon. #fixwine
Ps: We returned today for lunch and it was fabulous!
I’ve been to Fix for happy hour and have wanted to try their food menu however always had other dinner plans. Finally had a chance to try their menu. The soy glazed lamb ribs and teriyaki bone marrow tasted good. The rainbow trout was also fine but had a lot of bones, if you’re not good with picking out fish bones, this is not for you (I struggled but my friend enjoyed it). The chicken hearts with macadamia nuts satay was disappointing, it felt under cooked as it was still red inside. Would still go back for happy hour and hopefully will have better luck with food choices next time.
I dined at Fix for dinner last Thursday night and I can not fault the food or service. We had the grilled quail and the hanger steak, both absolutely delicious. Stuart the Owner also picked out an excellent bottle of wine to enjoy with our meal. We will be back with a bigger appetite next time, thanks guys we really enjoyed it.
Wonderful service! The waitress served us was so friendly and delightful lossy night. Love the porkneck and my friend really enjoyed her risotto. The yogurt taste really weird though, but chocolate moose was fantastic! LIKE
This restaurant is good place to hangout after shopping at westfield, DJ or Myer in sydney city, especially if you dont want foodcort food. it has a great range of wine, definitely good for drinks. We ordered the pork neck, risotto and pesto burrata orecchiette. i would say the orecchiette(pasta) is the most surprised one. taste great even it is vegetarian.
Overall pretty good. A couple of let downs which were the orecchiette and skirt steak.
Orecchiette tasted like Taiwanese noodles (which usually cost $12 not $29) and the skirt steak was chewy and that mix of Asian not Asian flavours didn't gel.
Other than those two, the rest of the dishes were well executed and enjoyable.

Business lunch on a Thursday at 1245. It's not as packed and we get good service and attention from the crew.
Whilst tempted to order the steak tartar decided to go straight for the mains instead. I went for the whole snapper. This was done in an Asian style. It was garnished with ginger, shallots and parsley on a sea of soya sauce. The Snapper was finished in two parts. The main fish was grilled and the grill find were deep fried in batter.
All-in, a decent dining experience albeit prices were at the higher end of town.
What a fantastic place!
Outstanding & friendly wait staff - we were made to feel like truely welcome guests with the perfect balance of attentiveness, nothing was a bother. This was coupled with great knowledge of the wines & our selection of cheeses.
The food was extremely flavoursome, leaving you wanting more (all diners at our table wanted to run our finger across the bowl!).
It was bustling & after what we experienced I am surprised it isn't fully booked every night.

The gentleman at the next table is wooing his date with stories of ICAC. He gestures to another table explaining that they’re barristers, working on a three-week case. When the duo finish rushed plates of Coorong Skirt Steak Tagliata ($34) buried under rocket, our narrator wishes them luck on another all-nighter.Hearing ‘all-nighter’ makes me want wine, and to that end, this spot delivers. Owner, and former SMH Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year, Stuart Knox, commands a 250-strong wine list
I remember eating here a few years ago, perfectly nice, but not amazing like last night. A quick pre-show meal, but the school prawns were perfect, the cheese soufflé is awesome, and the whole trout was pretty much perfection. I liked the duck fat potatoes, but my better half thought they were too salty. Match this with some great rieslings (including a rather nice orange wine) and being taking care of by Tristan, and this is a high recommendation. We'll be back.
We only came for wine. Great service and good variety of wines.
Huge wine list as you would expect, and the food is also fantastic and pairs the drinks very well. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. The butter scallops were fantastic
The best wine bar in the CBD, from someone that has worked in the city for 22 years. Food is excellent, Wine is second to none, passion for customers is something you don't get elsewhere. Great job by Stu and Tristan.
I always love coming here and leaving the decision to Tristian or Stu to organize share plates and recommend a wine. So far I haven't been let down! Great service, classic dishes and encyclopedic wine list filled with goodies.
Lots of good wines and great food.
Excellent wine list. Very good food. Fabulous ambience. Great staff. Simply a top wine bar
