Friday afternoon late lunch and drinks with work team to celebrate the end of the year.
Good solid atmosphere, but music was a bit on the loud side, which then compounded people talking louder and it slowly got louder as the afternoon went on.
Food wise, quick service, and the daily special was a charred corn with jalepeno and mozzarella chicken parmi for $20 including sides. Good sized portion for the price, cooked well and the chicken was juicy inside, crisp outside, very solid.
I had put down a $50 for drinks for the team to celebrate our year, and we got 7 drinks + $5 change out of it, so even the drink prices were quite reasonable for what we got and the location.
Would probably come again for a bit of a brew, and hang, and what other meal specials might be on.
My absolute favourite place during my visit to Sydney. It’s priced well and the food is amazing. They have a wide variety of options and their daily specials are well priced and extremely filling. Don’t miss the chicken Schnitzel with cheese
Bad service when asking for things such as a second plate to share meals or mayo/sauces
Called in here on a Sunday for early pre-dinner drinks. Had not been here for 50 years - memories of a year spent in Sydney. Great young crowd on the verandah overlooking the Coca Cola sign who had enjoyed the live music that unfortunately finished not long after we arrived. Staff were friendly and attentive and prices of drinks no different to what you would pay in any pub.
First time in this place and I loved it. The music was amazing and the way they have separated the pub and the rooftop bar is just mind blowing. The cocktails were great and what else do you need on a weekend.

Great location, less then 50m from the Kings Cross train station, has an amazing atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the food & drinks are reasonably priced. My meal arrived promptly in about 7 minutes and was of a really high quality. Would recommend.
A nice enough place for Friday after-work drinks with mates. It was buzzy enough but not overcrowded. Service is friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced. The balcony, upstairs, with a bit of a view to the surrounds of Kings Cross, is cool. I'd bring an out-of-towner here.
Good food and affordable drinks. I had a Chicken Schnitzel burger and it was delicious with a side salad. I would definitely go back with workmates for a midday feed.
As the cross seems to be falling apart, the Kings Cross Hotel has been stepping up it's game to draw people in. I've been going there on and off over the past ten years but recently have noticed a change in the vibe there. The customer service is excellent and not just by one or two of the staff but the lot. The employees seem to really enjoy being there (good job management!) and that flows on to the service. Drinks are reasonably priced with some really good beers and ciders on tap and the food is also quite good. It's certainly a worthy choice for lunch or dinner.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out

Mlady had a craving for fish ‘n chips and after searching on where to go we decided to venture to the Kings Cross Hotel. First impression of the hotel, which is situated in the heart of Sydney’s red-light-and-dancefloor district – gorgeous! It is a 6 storey building, from the rooftop down to a subterranean dive bar and the whole place has an ambience of a mix of modern and nostalgia.
Great pub! Went there in a Thursday night and had one of their Parma specials (I'm from VIC). Was super delicious, fresh, crispy and indulgent. Dined on the first floor which has a much 'hipper' atmosphere than the ground floor. Highly recommend the theatre too
I haven't eaten there yet but they do provide a very casual and relaxing atmosphere.
First time I tried expresso martinis and it was delicious!
Definitely is a great place to hang out with friends.
Best to go before 7 as the rooftop gets packed and you can get get a cocktail for $10 between 5-7.
Have been there a month back. Went with two of my friends. All of us ordered the steak ( medium ). It was a real good one. If you are a steak fan, it is worth trying out.
This is an eclectic place in Potts Point near the Kings Cross Railway station. Each level lends itself to a different vibe. The ground floor has a pub vibe to it. The first floor has a outdoor casual feel to it with high and low tables and bar to order your food and drink from.
It is a vibe place with good efficient service. The prices are very reasonable and the food was good.
Its the kind of place to go with your friends and have loud enjoyable night out.
Ah the Kings Cross Hotel. An establishment with 5 levels of different themed floors to suit any taste.
Level 5 is the Roof top Bar area where it almost feels like a secret garden, They have $10 cocktails from 5-7pm!
Levels 3 Disco & Level 4 Red room - open on Fridays & Saturdays and can be booked out for functions such as work xmas parties, birthdays etc etc.
Level 2 - FBI Social is where you get all the live band experience.
Level 1 - Balcony outdoor smoking area with large communal wooden Tables or tall tables with stools for your small group. The kitchen is located here as well.
Ground level - Street bar has lots of tables to sit and enjoy your meals, however on Fri/Sat nights most of these seating areas is taken away to make room for the dance floor for the DJ that begins at around 10pm. Happy Hour 5-7pm on beers, house wine etc.
Basement - Dive Bar - Open Thurs - Sunday - Booths and a shuffle board and buck hunter!
They have food specials from Monday - Sunday (except Saturday). Tues Ribs $12 and Thurs Schnitz & Bits $12 are my fav days!
This place can get busy on weekends so get in early to avoid a queue!
I would definitely recommend visiting the King's X Hotel if you're in the area and wanting a relatively cheap eat.

I sent Alex Harmon to investigate cocktails and a show in Kings Cross. She returned totally unscathed (don't believe the hype)... Although needing a password to enter a Kings Cross drinking hole reeks of exclusivity, in the 1930s it was simply a means of getting a drink post-6pm. After muttering “mum’s in,” we’re whisked into the velvety Bordello Theatre with a razor slash on our hands (whiteboard markers substitute blades). We swill on a deadly Darlinghurst Push ($24/jug) modelled on the mean streets of Woolloomooloo Hill. Vashti Hughes’ one-woman show Mum’s In: Stories from Razorhurst (Sundays at 5pm) is based on Sydney’s early 20th century gangsters, working girls and madams. We watch with a Devonshire Wake ($16) , dedicated to the ‘Queen of the Cross’ Kate Leigh, described as an apple crumble “ sans cream, avec grog ”. While Channel 9 glamorized the Razorhurst gangs, Hughes portrays their grittiness. She plays each role with intricate range: rawness, cockney humour, and

A sensitive refit of the Kings Cross Hotel sees the building restored to its former glory, sans the green paint. Experience the sexy rooftop bar, loads of diverse outdoor (smoking) areas and watch the world go by on the great wind-protected balcony with a
Loved it!. I had a rib eye steak and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The mash, garlic spinach and pepper sauce that accompanied it were all lovely too. Great value for money. Drinks were also very reasonable. Don't know if it was Wed night prices or if that's normal... either way KCH... I'll be back next time I'm over your way. Top job!
Great cheap food. Very quick too.
Tacos were fresh like eating a firecracker... In a good way.
We came here Thursday night for the $12 schnitzel and it was so good we came back for the $12 steak on the Friday night it was so yummy not dry or tough as many cheap steak nights are.
Good steak and real good ribs on Tue, cheap but quality food
Pretty good pub food. The fish and chips actually had juicy fish, which has become rare. Steak was also reportedly good. Latest fitout is not as nice and open as the last but the pub is still good for a drink.
Sunday roast on a rainy Sunday. $20 lamb roast with glass of wine or coopers. Well cooked with great mix of roasted veggies. Fantastic value for good food.
