Great place to go for breakfast and lunch. Great food, best coffee in the CBD and friendly service. Mick and his crew do a great job. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
I had the falafel and Kale salad. Never had that salad, before. Big falafels. So quite filling. The lady serving me was very friendly.
Good food. Good coffee. Good service. I’m pretty picky and after a few recent ‘Meh!’s, I was happy with my eats...It’s what ya want really!!
Great place to relax and take a break from the hustle of city work life. My partner and I ordered two coffees, a shakshuka and a eggs benedict. To my surprise, both our coffees (soy latte and cap) arrived promptly we placed our orders. Even more surprising, was the fact the coffee was quite hot yet did not display any taste of burnt milk, the coffee was amazing. (I'm a bit pandantic with coffee and the barista nailed this one).
The shakshuka I ordered arrived nicely plated in a small shallow saucepan (for display) along with two slices of fresh sourdough bread. It offered a complex deep mixture of flavours, highlighting on the sauce which was obviously made to be dipped with bread. The egg was also half cooked ie. a perfectly runny sunny side up egg.
My partner's eggs benedict was also well plated as expected. I tasted a spoonful of the hollandaise sauce and it was mind boggling to say the least. I don't think I've ever tasted such rich creamy hollandaise sauce in any other restaurant/cafe before.
To say the least, both me and our partner definitely recommend this. The pricing is honestly standard to cafes anywhere else, if not generous considering the prime location. This place is definitely a place to try especially for those who work in the city and require a short lunch break.
A small cafe tucked away on a sidestreet in the CBD. Ordered two coffees here that were quite reasonable! For it's ease of access I would definitely rate it highly. The coffee wasn't amazing, but the service was good. Also could see other meals coming out that looked like they were styled well.
Coffee was average, so was the food. The menu looked good with a lot of breakfast selections. We sat out at the deck so we had the sun while eating, which was nice because it was quite cold when we got there. Good ambience, average food, staff were friendly enough.
Not a bad place in CBD for your breakfast and coffee. Portion for my scrambled eggs with toast (added mushrooms and haloumi) is big and coffee was good. Will visit again.
Wonderful morning brew! Plus the staff are all too too accommodating. Chicken pollo with no bread?! Who would have thought you could even order one? You can - here at Motown Coffee Brewers! A sit down lunch is relaxing too - out in the sun if there's a spot!
Motown coffee brewers are located in the cbd and have a great set up for takeaway coffees. You order inside and then there is a separate waiting area outside where coffees are passed out the window. This also makes the vibe more pleasant for those eating in making sure the cafe is not crowded with people waiting for takeaway. My next favourite thing is the little complimentary treat you get on top of your coffee - this varies from biscuits, wafers or anything else on offer that day. The selection of sweets and baked goods are presented beautifully and I'd look forward to sitting in to enjoy more of their menu.
Had noticed this cafe before, but never tried it until today. I must say, the quality of the coffee was incredible and the barista was good for a bit of banter as well. Food is of a very good quality for the price, especially the prawn linguine and the salmon for lunch.
Had an afternoon coffee during work hour when a friend decided to visit me. Tried motown for the first time, and overall, was quite impressed. Very quiet around 3pm, had a really nice and relaxed atmosphere, although the 1 sugar cappuccino was quite pricey (above $3.5).
The coffee art was a nice touch, and potentially prepared well because there were no other customers (and it was not busy hour).
Overall, would consider coming back again for a coffee!
Service was good. Waiter and waitress attended to my needs and were fast paced. Food was good, had the eggs your way and a large mocha. Very busy in the morning, and most of the time the tables will be filled, so I waited 5 minutes for a table but all was good when the waitress offered to split the table with the two gentlemen at the back. Would go back to grab a coffee on the go from work. :)
A warm and cosy corner cafe perfect for a lovely brunch or maybe a quick munch ! Their pulled-beef burger was scrumptious with a hint of spice, paired with perfectly-cooked sweet potato wedges. The ricotta pancakes were soft and fluffy, and their carrot mix juice was freshly squeezed ! - Super refreshing and good for you ! Went on a quiet weekday and did not wait too long for the food. Overall, had a wonderful experience. Lovely staff and delicious food. Would love to come back ! :)
BEST COFFEE IN THE CITY
I have been working in the city for many years and have tried various coffee's from different locations. Motown coffee is by far the best. I love how they give a choc wafer with every coffee. Very modern cafe with friendly staff and fast service. Their food is delicious too! Highly recommend and will definetly be back :)
Beautiful customer service with gorgeous food. I wake up on a Sunday wanting a perfect breakfast and I know where to go but think should I try something new and always end up here because I intrinsically know the food is good here 😂. Love this place to death. Keep up the great work !
Cracking coffee and a really good açaí bowl for brekkie. One of the few places that seemed to be open on Easter Sunday! Conveniently located near Circular Quay
Stunning location with outdoor seating. I dined by myself for brunch while writing and reading. Enjoyed the coffee and açai bowl. Only disappointment was the delay in being served at the start and unexpected mark ups at the register.
Staff were slammed the day we visited however the service was super lovely and friendly. Coffee was really good and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Banana bread was really good and worth getting a second slice for the road.
My husband and I went here 3 years ago and we literally still talk about how great the flat whites and banana bread were. Not sure when we will make it back to Australia but I’d definitely come back here in a heartbeat!
Nice part of town. Not to far just far enough from the Hussel and bussel.
Cappa made well and taste nice.
