Went to "The Copper Mill" cafe today with a friend and we both had the Avo on Toast. There were lots of options but the non vegan avo on toast really sold me. It came prepared with a thick peice of sourdough toast covered in avocado slices, sesames seeds, dukkah and chilli flakes(chilli flakes came on the side) and was topped off with peruvian feta and a poached egg. The meal was terrific. Very Light but Very Filling at the same time :D I also ordered the coconut iced chocolate. I was asked if i wanted full cream or lite milk which although a simple question showed the flexibility the cafe has. (hopefully they were not hinting anything :S ) This didnt have too much of a coconut flavour and just tasted like a standard (non blended) iced chocolate. Unfortunatly (being the clutz i am) i spilt my drink but the waitress came and cleaned it up straight away. I offered to clean it up but she insisted and sorted tthe problem out very quickly. We were very impressed with the service here. The menu's were brought out pronto along with a cup ad water, we sat outside as we had dogs which was nice to get some cool air but being right on the road and surrounded by people waiting for takeaway meals it got a bit busy. They had a great selection of fresh muffins and croissants, sandwiches and slices. As it was a very popular cafe though it did seem like the takeaway was taking a while for the people there but that didnt effect us. COffee was also very tasty. We found that the cost of the extras were a bit exxy but it was good to see different types of extras eg. pork belly. I think the major selling points was our main meal and the service with the let downs being the location of the outdoor seating and the lack of coconut flavour in the iced coconut chocolate. Will return.

The pork belly with the Avo toast was really something special. Glad to have stumbled onto this place. I could have stayed in there all day.

Doing the humble bread roll justice. We enjoyed the Peruvian with pork belly and sweet potato and also the vegetarian with peas and ricotta. Can’t wait to come back for more 🐼🥢
Wow this place has good food. Has a constant flow of people for this reason, but it does move quickly. We tried the vegan breaky burger and would not hesitate to get it again! If you are after a solid breakfast, this will definitely do the trick! I also recommend the spiced pumpkin waffles. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it tastes delicious!
The effort they put into flavouring something simple like avocado toast or porridge is astounding but I heartily recommend the Peruvian roll - great combination of crispy pork and tender (but not soggy) pork with a fantastic sauce. The meals are all small but they are priced accordingly so it's great if you're not into stuffing your face with most cafes' huge meals. The coffee was hot and rich although one of the ones I had was a little bitter. That was the only disappointment.
Trendy vibes, delicious food and great service. A great local cafe if you're in Alexandria. Quick and prompt service and really take care of customers overall experience.

I think the staff really make this place a pleasure to frequent. A down to earth, friendly bunch with no large hipster-shaped chips on their shoulders. The coffee is always reliably excellent (shout out to the lovely chap who replaced my take-away coffee free of charge when I dropped it as soon as I had exited the building). The menu is interesting and well-balanced with appealing rotating specials. It all feels pretty healthy, too, with high quality ingredients. All in all, I feel very fortunate to live near this little joint.
Came here for breakfast, looked pretty packed as its a small place, but was able to get a table. As its summer I wanted something refreshing instead of coffee so I had the coconut lime frappe and it was awesome! Texture was not what I expected and the flavour was great! Meat and something something roll was good but the frappe gets the points!
Several food options i could happily choose. Comfortable inside, efficient and friendly. Capable but not serious. Food was pretty damn delicious but portion on the smaller side. Price is fine
Unassuming from the outside, but it was buzzing inside, with frenzy of activities & noise to match the industrial vibe, it feels almost like being in a busy factory floor. The only seats left were at the bar. The seats weren't the most comfortable, but the service was prompt. Really wanted to try the pumpkin waffle specials, as everything else on the menu are pretty much either toasties, rolls or burgers, but they have already sold out. Ended up with a Rueben, which was quite good, quite big serve. Same with my friend's Peruvian roll. The coffee was pretty good as well.
Cooper Mill is our go to when we're in the area. Amazing coffee, food usually delicious and the service warm and friendly. The only issue we had was that whilst we love the industrial decor, chairs we're not entirely comfy.

Easily suited for the winter, there isn't much ventilation and the windows out front catch some beautiful rays from lunch onwards. Copper Mill does some great coffee, as one of the best in neighborhood. Their creamed Kumera ($13.50) with coddled egg is essentially the grown-ups version to soldiers, with a velvety orange sweet potato lying below the egg. Mushroom medley ($17) is filling and flavoursome, and could easily go without the egg.
Its no fuss, simple, wholesome cafe fare with sensational coffee. As a result, it gets pretty crowded so cross your fingers.
Was parked across the road and saw people entering so figured I'd give it a crack. Went in for a coffee and came out with cream cheese brownies lol. Best takeaway bags ever 😂
Great hot choc and coffee coupled with great food! A little hippy gem with a great vibe. Awesome menu selection - we had a tough time choosing what we wanted. Would love to head back another time we are up in syd. Delicious!

Just go! The food, atmosphere and service....what a lovely way to brunch! Turkish rose chai ($7) is sweet and unique. Like a hot strawberry and nut milkshake. If it was hotter and less sweet it would be perfect but still delicious. The bagel with cream cheese and homemade jam was tasty and complemented the sweet drink ($5). I will go back for either the Reuben or pork roll- both looked amazing.
Great coffee and seasonal drinks and juices, hot salep - rose chai, Peruvian roll and almond croissants are to die for. One of the best spots around.
Cheap and good value for money - we ordered the corned beef potato hash and the Reuben.
The hash was quite heavy but the corned beef was flavoursome and soft - needed a dash of pepper.
The Reuben wasn't your typical Reuben with the addition of a mushroom like sauce. Top it off with some Tabasco and pepper and you've got a beaut sanga with melting beef brisket.
Smooth coffee tops off the meal.
We initially found the Copper Mill to be quite chaotic. Lots of people cued up with no separate line or signage for take away and dining in house. We were abruptly told to wait as there was a list of people before us. As it turned out there was no one before us and were then welcomed by two lovely staff members. The menu is small but it was great to see a turmeric latte there. The food was good, portions are a little on the small side but there are lots of nice and fresh flavours. We weren't blown away, but it was nice to try somewhere a little different for breakfast.
Small cosy cafe, staff was friendly. i tried the coddled egg with sweet potatoe puree, mushrooms with extra bacon. This was delcious was happy with my breakfast and the bacon was so crispy. i also tried coconut hot chocolate !! seriously yummm!! will definitely visit again

Made a early brekky visit to The Copper Mill. Brekky was very much on the tastier side of things and was very evident that good produce was used. I had the smashed Avo with the addition of bacon. Portion size was on the smaller side and probably could have done with the addition of an egg. The coffee was excellent however my only complaint was that it came to the table luke warm (much the same with the brekky). Service was good and efficient however it wasn't overly friendly.
The simplicity and freshness of the food here is definitely worth coming back for. The coffee (long black for me) was a bit of on the acidic side for my liking, but a solid pour nonetheless. The staff were friendly and the interior is workshop vibey, which I liked.
Oh my god, this place is great. I deeply regret not coming sooner since it's so close to my house. Not one ingredient on this plate was a let down, everything was cooked to perfection. The pork chiccharon and haloumi were the definite standouts though. The staff were also extremely friendly/attentive and super fast! Definitely coming back soon.
I've been here many times before by myself, with friends and it is always awesome. Great food and quick service. The people are hipster and always nice. The lady today was super nice and helpful. It has a rustic feel inside. There were some specials available like soup, salad, baked beans, eggs. However, today I went simply for the chai. I've seen and heard amazing things about the Turkish salep middle eastern rose and pistachio chai. I tell you what - it did not disappoint. It was incredible. I would go back in a heartbeat, just for that. It was a rose flavoured chai with rose petals and pistachios on the rim. Awesome! you gotta try it peeps.
Would love to come back at this place! good food! good service and nice ambience! the watermelon salad is amazing! The only let down is queuing for a table!
Super cool. I was made to feel welcome the minute I walked in the door, and they has lots of mouthwatering interesting food choices. I went for one of the specials of the day - succotash, a jumble of pancetta, lima beans, lime, tomato, beans, corn and basil, all topped off with a poached egg. I also had that endangered beast, a simple freshly squeezed orange juice which was refreshingly wonderful. My succotash was tasty but felt like it needed something extra to bind the dish together. I got some Tabasco sauce which helped, some sort of fruity hot sauce,,or maybe a chill jam, would have been perfect.

Good food, better coffee, bad service, greasy smell.
We had our Sunday lunch yesterday at Cooper Mill. We were in the cafe at 1:30pm, the food was served at 2:20 - almost an hour for only 2 burgers. Since we walked in, no one served, we had to find a table ourselves as well as the menu....we ordered coffee, a chicken burger and a Peruvian pork roll. The coffee was beautiful. But the waiter didn't take our food order at all. We were sitting, breathing the greasy air and waited for about 25 minutes until we asked one of the waitress and found out. We then waited for another 10 minutes, the food still wasn't ready for us. We asked the waiter who made the initial mistake - instead of explaining or apologise to us, he said : "Do you want to stop the order?" Throughout the whole incident, this waiter tried to avoid our table and never had the courage to take his responsibilities and come up with any forms of apologies. Instead, his colleagues apologised for him and offered us the discount for the long wait. After 45 minutes, we finally had our food. The burgers were good, but we were rushed as we were staving!Especially for my wife who is 7 months pregnant. After all, the service, particularly for that young man, was inappropriate and unprofessional.
As there is no separate kitchen area, the whole cafe is full of greasy smell from the grill. We had to carry the smell for the rest of the day. Not ideal if you're after a clean fresh day afterwards.
To be fair, I don't mind going back for a quick coffee and brekkie. Even though the service was unpleasant. Also they should do something about the greasy smell...
Very chilled atmosphere in this inner west cafe. Popular with locals. Dreadlocks reign supreme. Interesting menu with some healthy options to help with new year resolutions. Great coffee!!
A really nice cafe in Alexandria. The coffee was fantastic and the menu selection, although small, is different and far more tastier than the usual cafe fare you get nowadays. I had the Reuben sandwich and my wife had the Peruvian roll; both were delicious! Definitely be coming back!
Perfection!! Perfect flat white and a spot on menu!! I ordered the avocado, roasted tomato, summac, perfect poached eggs on a rye bread and my boyfriend ordered the chicken burger. Great service, awesome menu and fair price.

Although The Copper Mill's menu is short, it features a good variety of classics and some more unusual items, all of which sound enticing.
I ended up opting for the coddled egg dish because I was intrigued by what a coddled egg is. It turns out that it is rather like soft-boiled egg. As Google explains, "Soft-boil or Coddle Method: Coddling causes the yolk to become slightly thickened and warm." Which would explain why it was served with toast soldiers, except served shell-less in a jar rather than in shelled and in an egg holder. The inclusion of the sweet potato puree added another dimension to the overall taste of the dish, its sweetness contrasting with the saltiness of the egg and bacon.
JM ordered the bacon and egg roll, which sounded solid yet simultaneously boring. This is a problem with the brekkie/brunch classics: whilst they are fail-safe flavours, they are by the same vein also rather unexceptional. JM's verdict echoed this: whilst it was tasty, there was nothing special about it. Indeed, there was a slight imbalance in the bun-to-filling ratio.
Overall, The Copper Mill is a solid brunch spot. And the best part? It is extremely reasonably priced.
It's a really small space but the food was great, in particular to their beef and hash and avo toast!! Pretty quirky and rateable food ;) I would recommend this to any brunch hipster
The staff is over friendly lack a little authenticity. The food is high average for Alexandria/Waterloo area with unique plating. The toilet is a scary read for weekday morning...
I had a roast chicken, watermelon, cucumber, feta cheese salad w pomegranate + mint and even though it sounds strange it was delicious and I am definitely coming back to try other things as well!

Personally, I am a strong advocate of boycotting the grounds of Alexandria whenever in the area, but I can assure you that has nothing to do with my choice to visit the copper mill whenever I'm around that neck of the woods. In fact, I have been to the mill so frequently that I have officially eaten everything on the menu, and I can wholeheartedly assure you that it is all 100% on point. Their coconut hot chocolate even holds the prestigious title of "Ej's favourite hot beverage of all time", and if you get the chance to try it you'll immediately understand why - this bad boy is liquid intercourse.
Aside from the menu, the service is absolutely brilliant - the staff are extremely friendly and are always up for a bit of bantz. They were even kind enough to give me one of their Kanye West paper bags despite not ordering takeaway.
I live by the ideology that nothing is perfect, so I have deducted points due to the fact that I'm not particularly fond of the Mill's layout. I think the open nature of the kitchen detracts the atmosphere of the cafe; however, that's purely due to the fact that I'm being extremely picky with intent.
We went here for brunch at 12 on a Saturday and luckily didn't have to wait (table of 4). At first glance, there's not a lot of choices. I had the Peruvian roll ($10) which was delicious and everything (pork, sweet potato and egg) went together really well. However, it was so rich and greasy so I was already full halfway. The Spiced Chickpeas 'Baked Beans' ($13.5) was interesting, a bit overwhelming in terms of spice. We were curious to see what the 'Coddled Egg' ($10) was, so we ordered 2. Turned out it was just pumpkin with an egg on top in a jar, which was creamy and heavenly at first but was just all pumpkin once you finish the egg. The Coconut Hot Chocolate ($5) was huge and very coconuty, but sickly sweet. Bill was $68 for 4 people (4 meals and 4 drinks), which is a lot cheaper than other places.
Loads of top knots and hipsters, but the food and coffee is excellent. I had the Reuben sandwich and can genuinely say I was absolutely blown away with it, will be coming back again!
Great coffee here. Food, hit and miss for me. The first time I came here, I absolutely loved the dish I ordered (the corned beef potato dish - awesome and so hearty!). The second time, meh. Is definitely give them a third shot though, based on my first experience.
Despite being in the quieter streets of Alexandria, The Copper Mill is pumping during weekend breakfast sessions with patrons lining out the door for their morning coffee fix. Located within a former printing press, the cafe is in a concrete building, giving the space a cooling, industrial feel.
Great coffee, great food and great service! It can get really busy at lunch time on weekends but it's worth the short wait. The Peruvian sandwich was to die for!
This is probably our new favourite little place. The staff are super friendly and the food is amazing! Went here for the first time today and fell in love. It was busy but only had to wait about 5-10 min for a table. So worth the wait! Absolutely nothing to fault about the place! Big thumbs up! Will be back again soon.
Nice little cafe tucked in the blooming suburb of Erskineville, however this place is quite small and gets quite busy during the weekends.. so expect to wait for a table.

Great cafe with mexican twist. Great service, they mistakenly gave us the wrong dish and didn't charge us for it. It wasn't such a bad mistake after all because the roasted pork and egg roll was definitely one of the best I've tried, the pork with crackling was excellent! we also tried one of the specials item on the board, which was a puffed galette with pumpkin haloumi and poached egg. everything was cooked to perfection, and it was nice light dish in comparison to the pork roll, and the coconut ice chocolate was fun, nothing overly exciting and came with a generous dollop of coconut ice cream. coffee is good. Communal seating is slightly uncomfortable, but all in all a great cafe.
For the lovers of filter coffee, Copper Mill handpicks single estate beans from boutique roasters across Australia. Definitely try their 'coconut hot chocolate' . An amazing combo...
Which leads me to The Copper Mill, which reminded me of copper cups, which reminded me of metal and 18th century, which reminded me about my horseshoe. Once an old fit out for a printing press , Alexandria has again proven to evolve from its industrious past to the new cool, hip and trendy. On a Wednesday midmorning, the place was full of happy diners and even had a queue going. A 10 minute wait quickly flew by as Mrs O and I caught up with each other's lives. The brew of coffee filled the air as we taken to our seats. There were so many beautiful and bright coloured dishes, each looking as delicious as the next. As we sat, we also gave our drink orders. This is not your average bacon and egg roll - instead of bacon rashers the roll has been upgraded to pork belly chicharron with a perfect sunny-side-up egg, salsa criolla, a tangy lemon aioli and sweet, creamy roast kumera.
The Copper Mill is sort of hidden, well its kind of you gotta know where this sits – its adjacent to a large business park and not far from Princess Park Properties large residential megaplex in ersko/st peters but there it is, this rather darkly intimate, industrial chic and rather nice cafe just placed located here. We’ve driven down the Mitchell road quite often and not noted this. The appearance of a desolate foodscape. The Copper Mill is housed under a large architectural practice just there. Its rustic looking, with grey walls – the counter where the coffee machine is a large piece of rusticated timber and a simple glass box for the sweet eats. Nice timber batten screen there. Seperates the two businesses and yet permits light through. You can sit at the counter too Mecca Coffee, St Ali. The kitchen area is a largeish island filled with activity Special lamb shoulder sandwich was pretty good and well presented. Coddled Egg dish, came with a long teaspoon to scoop out the contents
The discovery that a cafe in Alexandria was serving Peruvian rolls not only sparked my curiosity but set me on a mission to investigate if the chicharrón was being properly made.
Located in Alexandria, The Copper Mill is a welcoming addition to the suburb's ever-growing cafe and restaurant scene that has been expanding since the opening of The Grounds of Alexandria. It's also a good walking distance from St Peter's Station and even closer to Sydney Park if you happen to be in the area. As you step inside, you notice the industrial decor of the joint While it's quiet on the weekdays, it's much more busier on the weekends especially with the limited seating inside so there will be a small wait for the tables at peak hours (though not as bad as the Grounds of course). It's rare to find a cafe where I actually want to try every single dish of the menu but The Copper Mill is definitely one of those places.
i ordered one of their sandwiches: roasted cauliflower, eggplant pickle, feta and butter lettuce. this sandwich was tasty, crunchy and i ate it within minutes, i especially loved the eggplant pickle because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good pickle…?
At The Copper Mill on Mitchell Road in an area some call Alexandria and some call Erskineville, bacon and eggs are most certainly not just bacon and eggs. Most surprising is that the café doesn't really have a proper kitchen, but just a stovetop or two and a benchtop grill. Cappuccino and watermelon, apple and mint juice from The Copper Mill, Mitchell Road, Alexandria With minimal outdoor seating and hipster-fied interiors, The Copper Mill is a spacious little venue that clearly values comfort over crowds. Decorated with the occasional item of copper cookware, the high ceilings of the space and its well-spaced tables lend it well to relaxed brunching and munching on some Latin-inspired brekky bits. I still like cappuccinos because of the chocolate powder and foam, giving me the slightest of sugar hits with the Golden Cobra b

Discovered Za'atar. Beef hash was so good, I bought Za'atar as soon as I got home (to Canada). Not so impressed with the $5 coffee though.
The food is fantastic. I ordered the Peruvian B n E roll, and I liked it! The bacon and egg were far more satisfied. The most exciting part was there was a little bit coriander in the roll and lifted the taste of it. But I had to wait for 30 mins to get the seat (was there abt 11:30 am Saturday), and waited for another 45mins to get the ordered food...

Melbournians visited Sydney for the day (on a Sunday). We thought we'd try this place as there were good reviews. We arrived early just before 8:30am and found it strange that there were people waiting for this cafe to open up. We were not disappointed after our visit, OMG, the food was fabulous, and not to mention the coffee was made perfect! I had the 'Everything Bagel with beetroot cured Salmon', fresh ingredients, just perfect. My cousin had the 'Smoked bacon, 'Sunnyside up Egg with capsicum relish' it was the best she had ever had (and that's saying something). I loved the decor, and the staff are so efficient and very friendly.
If you love truffle, this is the cafe to be! The food was amazing and we loved everything about it.
Cafe - It had a cute hip vibe about it. Atmosphere was nice, interior was interesting with a graffiti wall out at the back.
Food - Amazing. They have a set truffle menu or you can pick from the A la carte menu. We chose the Truffle Wagyu Sando (wagyu was medium rare) and was perfect, Truffle Hash, Breakfast with Sakuma’s. (being a signature and definitely a popular dish that day) and the Truffle Mie Goreng which I though was super delicious and full or flavour!
Overall - The price was affordable, food was definitely delicious and full of flavour and cafe was nice, clean and the environment was friendly great for different occasions.
I had lunch with my friend today. We got seated in the back which was awesome because it was more spacious and private.
I ordered the Spicy fried chicken Mi Goreng, iced lychee ice tea and kaya toast.
I enjoyed the Mi Goreng, very tasty but the chicken was a little too salty. The portion size was massive. I think my favourite was the kaya toast! Super creamy and yummy, toast with coconut jam (best as dessert) or snacks 😍😍😍
I was happy with the service this time, last time wasn’t so pleasant however they have redeemed themselves today as last time they didn’t take my order when I was sitting by myself for lunch. I hope that this doesn’t happen again.

Great place if you're after Japanese fusion cafe food. It's a short walk from central station and it's not too crowded around lunch time. The truffle brunch experience is worth trying out if you love truffles but it may be too much if you tried. I recommend trying the truffle fries and the Wagyu steak with truffle if you find that the brunch experience sounds like a lot of food. The staff are very helpful and the wait times for food is really fast.
One of the first few places that I visit regularly since 2013 and where all the fancy brunch started. The food here constantly impressed me with their asian fusion brunch that is innovative, unique yet tasty. The brunch here has french, Japanese, Malaysian and asia fusion in it and they are one of the first few cafe that start truffle brunch menu. Love that they are bringing back all their classic OG menu back like the Dr Seuss Green Egg and ham and the mentaiko Pasta. The Little lost bread (strawberry french toast) has return back from back in the days. Food here was quite fancy and delish and I always enjoy the brunch experience here. Sadly it will close in mid Apr but luckily their Barangaroo and the North Sydney store still around.
It was my first time dining here and I was very impressed. Every dish that I tried was delicious. Love their Omurice with Ebi Katsu, Breakfast with Sakuma’s and Crab Omelette. So unique and tasty. Coffee is amazing and I also love their matcha cheesecake. Highly recommend!
This was recommended by someone who turned out have never actually eaten here... Despite that, it was a very pleasant surprise as the food was superb.. It is a Japanese Cafe putting a twist to modern Australian food. When in doubt order their notable signature meals... I had ordered the sakuma salmon breakfast meal.. You can't do wrong with salmon and avocado. I also had the burger which was very tender and juicy.. Fully recommend this place for people looking for something different
