Very good italian pizza, very authentic... i guess. We tried 3 types and all of them are superb. Pasta also not bad, we liked them too. Price wise also acceptable. Very friendly services, place always seem to be crowded.
Ate here mid week one evening for a late dinner. Started with the cheese board which came with a gorgeous piece of creamy burrata cheese and other mozzarella cheeses. For mains we ordered ‘seconding’ dishes. The tagilata beef was excellent, cooked medium rare and well seasoned. The pollo chicken was equally well seasoned and tasty. I am keen to try the pizzas and pastas here next time as well. An excellent find in the heart of Zetland.
One of our favourite pizza and pasta places in Sydney! Big call as we do love our Italiano food!!!
The pizza’s are amazing, simple and delicious. The pizza class they run there is also top notch!
Definitely a place to keep coming back to!
Visited here on a Saturday night and had a great experience. Service was really friendly and multiple waiters made sure our table was attended to. Nice interior and atmosphere including an inside bar.
I ordered the gnocchi which were very tasty and fresh. The food was authentic Italian with great pricing.
If you are looking for tasty Italian food this restaurant is definitely worth a try
This is the place to go for quality and authentic pizza. Its always a delight to dine at Lucio... love the food, the vibe and the friendly service, keep it up!
The last time I visited Lucio Pizzeria was just over 9 years ago at the Darlinghurst restaurant. Great to see they're still going strong and have expanded. A lazy dinner outing with the kids is good timing with the $25 Pizza & Wine Monday deal which pretty much means we get a glass of wine for free #winning. Orange and apple juice ($4.50) for the young kids served in takeaway cups to guard against clumsy spills. We enjoyed our Salumi - tomato, mozzarella, mild salami, ham, sausage ($25) and Capricciosa - tomato, mozzarella, mushroom, ham, artichoke, olives ($24) both with a lovely light base with bubbly edges. Tasty toppings with rustic presentation. I would have preferred a more spicy salami on the salumi pizza but the mild salami kept it suitable for the kids. For some extra chilli kick be sure to ask for a bottle of chilli oil although I reckon they could take it up a notch of what I tried. Happy choices were made for the wine of Merlot DOC Friuli Grave 2016 ($10) and Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOC Costantini Line 2011 ($11). The yummy Nutella Pizza ($14) was brought out with compliments of Chef Lucio. Not quite sure how he knew I was there as he wasn't in the kitchen that night but perhaps he was checking the Dimmi bookings — sneaky. The extra calories went down well for dessert which I thought we were going to avoid that night hehe :-).
I’m a big fan of pasta and I really enjoyed the flavours and the texture of the pasta here. The service was friendly and attentive as well. Really nice neighbourhood Italian joint.
Delicious, authentic wood fired pizza in a casual family friendly setting. Service was efficient, attentive and professional. Ingredients were all fresh and well prepared. Great for group bookings and we would definitely return.
We have been to lucios a few times and always receive amazing food and service! The pizza and pasta here is to die for and the atmosphere is great! We will be back
Tried the Zetland branch based on recommendations from friends. Seems like the place is always busy because we went on a Thursday night and still had to wait 15 mins for a table. Service was great, food came out quickly but the tables are so small, it barely fits all the food that we ordered. Ambience was not that great: lighting a bit too dark, tables are placed so close to each other. We ordered the special of the night: spaghetti with ragu which was excellent. Gnocchi was a bit bland and the tartufarta pizza was great, just wish they put more mushroom (we found 8 small pieces only 😭). Overall, will definitely come back next time with a reservation.
Johnny Di Francesco (aka Mr Melbourne Pizza) told us to go here and it did not disappoint. We tested the margherita pizza as one should and all the trademarks of a vera awarded pizza recipe were present - need to go back and test the mozzarella bar!
The Italian hot spot in Zetland’s East Village. Busy every night of the week and that’s thanks to the great authentic Italian food and the fantastic service. Using woodfire ovens, the pizzas come out with a thin based with few toppings just like in Italy and the pasta is soft and swimming in flavour.
The Antipasto boards are a sight to behold with endless cured meats and cheese carefully placed. We tried the Paccheri alla Sicillian and the Gnocchi alla sorrentina as our pasta and for Pizza we had the Capricciosa and the Calzone, definitely worth a visit.
The price is okay, not too expensive, yet not cheap either and the menu is very limited as well.
Ordered for delivery. The pizza with prosciutto, Parmesan, and rocket was delicious with a very good crust. The tiramisu was a bit too mushy.
Very impressed. Wonderful service and gorgeous venue. Top notch wines and food. So much food! We ordered the sharing board....delicious! I opted for gnocchi for my main. Overdone but still okay. As for dessert.....wow! Pictures attached. Would come back here for sure
Good dining experience. Pros: wonderful authentic pizza from Naples. Cons: Decor could be a little nicer and the service just had a weird feel. Would return for the food
Would highly recommend buffalo mozzarella served with freshly shaved prosciutto crudo, Margherita pizz, pizza Lucio and the gnocchi sorrentina. The caprese salad could have been tasted if the tomatoes weren't so cold.
Dined here for the first time on a friday evening. The service was very friendly across the various staff we came across, all lovely. Orders were taken and food arrived efficiently. We had the pizza (half calzone/Margherita) and a bowl of mussels. Pizza was great, thin and well cooked the ricotta and ham inside the calzone was delicious. Classic combination. The mussels were in a rich tomato broth, very enjoyable. Atmosphere was pleasant. We will be back.
One of my favourite pizzas in Sydney, this branch at Zetlands has a much different feel & atmosphere then the original at Darlinghurst. The food however, are just as good. Pizzas are what I'm here for but the entrees are also delicious. There is a Mozzarella & Salumi selection with burrata being my favourite. The antipasto platter heaves with deliciousness & generosity with a fantastic selection to sample. All the pizzas are delicious but the Lucio, Margherita or Campanola with Italian sausage, mushroom & truffle oil are all delicious. Bellissimo!
Authentic Italian restaurant with great service, pizza and mozzarella! We got the Mozzarella for two (classic and smoked) with a side of prosciutto and a mushroom and sausage pizza. Overall the right amount for two and we were both really impressed with their pizza. It's not too oily, has the right amount of toppings and the dough is incredible!
Following our recent visit to Zetland to try out their Ribs and Burgers restaurant, we were back there again for dinner recently. Though the main reason for our visit was to stock up on coconut water at the fruit market on the ground floor! Here they sell Pete Evan's Raw C coconut water for a ridiculously low price. It used to be 4 x 1L cartons for $10, but more recently its a little bit higher at a box of 12 for $40. Compared to Woolies which sells it for $6 a carton it is a considerable discount! Given the amount of coconut water we churn through when making smoothies hopefully this place will keep their prices low!
My friend insisted we have lunch here and so we did. He swears by their pizza and food in general. After our time there today I agree with him.
Service: fast and friendly
Food: we were full on the antipasto which was really yummy but my friend had a few criticisms about the bread sticks. The tiramisu was pretty good as well.
Drink: good coffee
Would I return? Yes because I still need to try their pizza.
Very busy little place! I like the atmosphere and waiter was friendly. I ordered the famous truffle pizza, it was a bit let down, it was OK, not WOW. The Gnocchi was a bit heavy and dense. Also I would appreciate more if the waiter gave back my change after the bill, I did not say I wasn't gonna...
One of the best pizza eaten in Sydney, authentic Napoli style pizza, rich in flavour, perfect texture, "Siciliana" is my favourite! The antipasti platter is delicious and absolutely deserved to be tried. So close to our place that every time passing by is such a temptation to say no!
This is my favourite pizzeria in the entire world. Lucio's at Darlinghurst has always been amazing but now the Zetland store takes it to the next level with great decor, great food and excellent service. I love the margarita, simple but full of flavour and my guests really enjoy the osobucco, calamari, and all the other pizzas they ordered.
Casual atmosphere with friendly staff and good food. A really good night out.
One of the better Pizzas in Sydney.
A really nice space and friendly staff. One of the best antipasto plates I've ever had. All the pizzas were spot on and the staff really friendly.
Highly recommended.
Standout pizza was the Tartufata followed by the Rustica. We had the 1/2 metre pizzas but think it probably would've been better to get normal pizzas as you get 10 slices in a 1/2 metre and 8 in a regular pizza as you get more slices imho. The spaghetti de mare was also great and loved how the pasta is handmade. The Orecchiette pasta was a little bland but I think it was because the other dishes flavours were more stronger. One thing which wasn't too good was the service. The guy who was servicing our area was not very attentive. It is great that they hire people that are Italian but it is hard when there is a language barrier. We wanted to double check what was in the spaghetti di mare as one of our guests was allergic to specific seafood. He said he would check and never came back for the rest of the night! We had to go and find out ourselves by sourcing a menu from the counter and checking. Our overall experience was ok, just need to work on the service.
Not a huge pizza fan but wanted to check out Lucio's when they opened up in the hood. Got the "tartufata": mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, prosciutto and truffle oil. Simply wow. Awesome base, both soft and chewy with nice crusty burnt bits. Excellent prosciutto sliced straight off the bone. And a generous splash of truffle oil. I'm no pizza expert but I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza there.
Found this great little spot mid week for a work lunch. Ordered the special 'Rabbit Parpadelle' delicious. Has a great selection of Italian wines, definitely worth a visit.
Having quite some experience with browsing the #bestpizzainmelbourne I stumbled across Lucio while in business in Sydney. Lucio had a very good rating and my mobile device indicated that I should drive to Darlinghurst. It was peak rush hour and I was moving 1km/h in the traffic and couldn't wait to get a meal at the end of the day. What a surprise I got when I spotted the Lucio logo on the shopping center building at Zetland. Finding a parking spot after 6pm wasn't an issue in the underground parking and it was free. Finding Lucio in the large complex was not a challenge as it is located next to one of the entrances. It is not a small venue by any means with a quiet section and a long bar and some tables located practically in the footpath of the shopping center. If you get seated there it might get windy at times whenever somebody will be entering the mall on a chilly day. Unfortunately the quiet section was reserved for a party so I had to take a seat in the chill zone. Leave your jacket on!
I was approached by Lucio the owner himself who frequents to both of his restaurants. I ordered in total a Diavola pizza, a Filetto pizza (usually called Parma with rocket, parmezan and prosciutto), a Menabrea beer, espresso and some cheese cake. Everything was delivered quickly and I also got some homemade chili oil. I must admit that the pizzas were excellent made in a wood fired oven and the ingredients were outstanding. I enjoyed every bit of every meal. As an avid Napoli pizza aficionado I would rate them 5.0 but there was just one thing I found annoying. The crust was perfect, the ingredients also but the base was super super paper thin. I hardly had to use the knife and there was practically nothing to cut through. With all the juicy and tasty toppings the base did not hold together and I could literally eat the pizza with a spoon. I prefer cutlery but if desired you would never be able to eat a pizza slice with your bare hands. Both pizzas had that paper thin base. I need to mention that I only eat real Italian pizzas and know what a thin base means. Lucio goes even beyond a thin base so I would only suggest to add 1-2mm of thickness.
The cheese cake was delicious with a nice crust and the espresso had a nice crema. All in all a nice restaurant with real Italian feel and flavors and recommended despite the fact that it is located in a busy mall.
Thanks for saving my table on Friday night even I was late. Great service upon arrival, pizza and mozzarella were amazing, really amazing Italian food would be back again.
Bravo !!! Fantastic wood fired pizza, crusty light edges flavoursome fillings - we had the prosciutto, truffle mushroom, good wine, and a tasty variety of mozzarella - actually very tasty. A touch of Italy in Zetland. The desserts were better than average - if I didn't have dessert they would have got a 4!
Perfectly made woodfired pizzas with equally perfect combination of toppings.
Hands down our fave for the night was the Tartufata - mozarella, porcini mushroom, prosciutto & truffle oil - it was simply sublime.
The Il Gran Tagliere is a perfect platter to share - a chef's selection of their mozarella cheeses, cold cuts and marinated grilled vegs. Definitely worth coming back for again !

Good food. Outstanding service!!! Just a bit expensive. To sum up, good 😊😊😊.
OMG the pizzas here are amazing! Went along with a friend on a Friday night, place was busy and took 10mins to seat us but didn't mind as they have a small bar where you can have a drink while you wait. We both ordered the pizzas which were delicious. Not too heavy and the bases were thin and crispy. Will definitely be returning. Real authentic Italian pizzas 😊
Amazing! The mozzarella bar is to die for and the pizza is the real deal. The lasagne was good but underwhelming in comparison to the rest of the menu. Great service, friendly and efficient staff. Bookings are recommended.

Venture into Tomorrowland – otherwise known as Zetland, or ‘Zetciti’ as a clever business in the futuristic East Village shopping centre has dubbed it.Swallow down a portent dose of the future, where worker drones live in looming grey and taupe towers in fully self-contained dormitory suburbs; places where you can purchase an Audi as easily as you can order a name brand Lucio pizza.Grappling with the location over a Birra Ichnusa ($8), I volunteer: it’s like Shanghai without the chaos. “Hence Singapore,” our neighbours at the cheek-to-jowl tables, helpfully supply
One of Sydneys most iconic names in pizza, Lucio Pizzeria has opened its doors in Zetlands new East Village complex, and the locals can't get enough of it!
Lucio Pizzeria in Zetland is A LOT bigger than the one in Darlinghurst. They also have new items on the menu.
The most interesting addition to the menu is the Mozzarella bar! You get to taste five different mozzarella that can be paired with small plates like Prosciutto!
The pizza is obviously pretty consistent with the one in Darlinghurst.
Fantastic gluten free pizza! Perfect thin wood fired base, you can’t tell it’s gf. It’s a shame they don’t also offer gluten free pasta because the pasta looked and smelt amazing. Staff were also really lovely and accommodating, I highly recommend.
The Burrata and Bufala affumicata is creamy and unique taste.
Very delicately made mozzarella that goes well with the mixed vege caponata and bread.
The pizza bread is very stretchy and the edge of the dough is slightly burnt which gives it a nice crispy material and smoked taste. It’s brilliant to have it with the topping.
Definitely coming back to try their pasta and different pizzas.
Great authentic experience, Pasta con spanner crab and prawn butter WOW!!! Che buono ,
Penne with broad beans and guanciale leaves you wanting more ! Everything was spot on and the service was super fast !!! Thank you Lucio
My wife and I dined in on Saturday night. We did not have a booking so we had to sit on the outside table.
We ordered the Salumi. Everything was made to the perfection. The dough was very fluffy and left quite the impression.
Food is so good! And personal is very friendly and kind! We love this place and we come every week! Bob, Franchesca and Wani are amazing!
Very friendly staff who taught me how to pronounce ‘gnocchi’. Well the gnocchi was creamy but a bit too greasy. But the pizza was perfect!
Came to celebrate my anniversary and can't recommend this place enough.
The food and drinks are absolutely fantastic. After 6 years in Australia finally I found a place that provide such good experience.
The staff is also incredibly polite.
Well done for everybody!
Can't wait to come back and bring friends over!
We were greeted and seated straight away. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant but she was absolutely amazing. Food was very quick and delicious. Micky mouse shaped pizza big hit with the kids. Would come back 🤗
