Review Vic's Meat Market - Sydney

Elizabeth Munro-Ginn
I sat in and had the pulled pork burger and fries. The burger had great flavour, the pork itself was delicious, but I found it to be quite sloppy from the slaw so by the time you get to the end of it the bun has disintegrated, and for the price it was quite small. I'd probably go back to try some other meats but I'm not sure I'd get the burger again. The fries were pretty solid, well-seasoned. The location, well, I mean you're at the fish markets looking out over the parking lot so it's not ideal. I also picked up some Toulouse sausages from the butcher and while they turned out nicely they were preposterously expensive.

The butcher is a little pricey. 6 lamb cutlets for $39. I liked the cranberry sausages and the grass fed beef options. There is an eatery next to the butcher which is alright too.

My taste buds were dancing with excitement. We had the small Vic Platter plus an extra side 200gr of 10 hour slow cooked brisket. Really don't know what was my favourite...the Boston beans were to die for.

Good quality Meat, for sure. Bought some hot food from the smokehouse, Wagyu beef brisket, Tuscan style sausage, burnt end and pulled pork. Love everything about this option. Wagyu beef brisket, smoked for 10 hours and served 100 gram for $10. 1 portion of smoked Kurobuta Tuscan style sausage also for 10, love all seasoning that goes into this sausage, basic fennel, garlic, basil and white wine. For the pulled pork, it house smoked for 12 hours, same price tag $10 for same serving of 100 gram. Bought also, chorizo sausages, pork and maple, Wagyu beef and chilli sausages for tomorrow breakfast staple at home.

Great service and food was delicious. We had the little platter and everything on it was flavourful, not dry, and well seasoned. We also had an extra large fries and onion rings which were surprisingly light and that seasoning salt was perfect. My wife isn’t big on barbecue sauce but loved the ones they had. Great experience and will be coming back.

Great Sydney Butcher, awesome burgers on site. Highly recommend to try their slow cooked smoked beef brisket or pulled pork sliders. They have a high quality selection of meats and cooking products. The best place to source Charcoal for your robata grill for example!

I heard that Vic’s does some of the best burgers in Sydney so it has been on my list and I really looked forward to trying their burgers. What a huge disappointment our experience was as this is probably one of the worst burgers! We had their chess burger. The buns were stale and not soft, the patties were lukewarm, so rubbery and tough, they also tasted artificial. I thought they supposed to use real meat as their butcher shop is just right next door!? The chips were also soggy, not one bit crispy! I also hate that they come standard with chicken salt. The other option on the digital menu is no seasoning!? What happened to just plain old salt or sea salt?

Having grown up in the states I've become a bit picky when it comes to BBQ, but any doubts I had were gone as soon as we walked in the front door greeted by the amazing smell of smoked meats. Standout points for us were food, and over the top awesome service. It was easily the best BBQ I've had in Australia, They have a varied menu but not overly complicated. We didn't know the difference between the two types of slaw and Steven behind the counter was helpful explaining them. I've had burnt ends at other smokehouses in Oz and it's often too covered in BBQ sauce you can't taste the meat, or some artists impression of what they think it is. At Vic's the burnt ends were a highlight and a definite must for any and all visits. It only had a small amount of sauce so the meat could shine bright like a diamond, and boy did it ever. They also make two sauces in house, BBQ and sauce specifically for the burnt ends. Super cool seeing what goes into them on the side of the bottles. Steven was as much a highlight as the awesome food. He was friendly and helpful when we felt indecisive about a couple menu items, and made sure we were happy with our visit. We can't wait to go back!

What a pleasant surprise next to the fish market. We were walking past and the smell of smoked meats drew us in. We got a platter to share.
Highlights: the brisket. The seasoning is so good. Definitely finger licking good. Lowlights: can't help but wish there were some Mac and cheese on the menu to complement!

Love the burgers here. The meats are so soft and have so much flavour. Love the side of pickles, couples so nicely with the burgers. Can't wait to come back!

Came here with high expectations and was a little disappointed. The staff were friendly. Simple things are neglected IE. food served directly on the trays and no plates provided (meat platter), as well as the cleanliness of the cups provided for the table water. The burgers were decent, but was a bit disappointed with the meat platter, after all.. this is supposed to the their speciality. The pork belly wasn’t crispy and the beef short rib was a bit dry.

As promise, Guorium🧪 and his parents took me there, that’s really sweet of them! They waited for me to 2pm and we actually started our lunch at 3pm. Is that “Lunnet”

Their ribs were really yummy 😋 crispy outside and tender insides. But some parts were extreme dry and chewy, taste like paper. It’s selling point might be the freshness and convenience as the own a butcher store just next door and the food must from there.

Salads were general okay and the chips 🍟 taste like frozen microwave chips — even reheated frozen chips taste better than their chips.

Two years ago, in winter I tried their beef burger after I went grocery shopping next door. The memory was vague but at least it’s not too bad to avoid me to visit their store again.

Meat platter is our family usual. It says 2 ppl but i think it can easily feed 3 of us. We still add some extra though just because their food is so nice. The meats are smoked to perfection, melts in your mouth and flavorful even on its own. 3 sauces are offered with the platter. Good value too for smoke house. Also nice to do some meat shopping in their adjacent butcher shop. Xihuahua 🐶 missed out this time but I will take her there next time! Staff is friendly and fast. This is hands down the best smoke house restaurant around!

Update: Took Xi here this time and it was hmmm ok

First had to decipher the ordering system. There’s an “order here” sign where the guys prepare the meat but a note on the menu about ordering at the till. I go to the till and I’m sent back to the guys, then I order a brisket sandwich and I’m sent back to the till, where they had a bunch of pre-prepared sandwiches sitting around. The brisket was pretty tender, maybe slightly stringy, but they didn’t seem to have cooked any flavourings into it, so it was bland even by Sydney standards. The sandwich came together well for a decent price though, even had some bits of haloumi in it, and the outlook over the bay is good, just nothing memorable about Vic’s.

Ambience: Just a casual place with a couple of tables. Nothing too special but may get crowded during busy hours.
Service: You order at the counter and pick up the food yourself so pree standard service as well.
Food: This is the reason you want to come. Great smokey flavour in every cut of meat. Everything is cooked low and slow so it falls off the bone👌🏻
Recommendations: The beef short rib and the beef brisket.

I sorely miss the Texas smoked beef brisket I had the chance to experience during my travels to the USA, so I was very, very excited to come across Vic's Meat Market at the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont. I managed to get some of the "burnt bits" (I think that's what they're called) a couple of times, but missed out on others, because I'm told they go pretty quick. They're essentially the off-cuts so they're cheap though nonetheless delicious. I love visiting the fish market but I can get fresh seafood elsewhere; I can't say the same about smoked beef brisket, so that's ironically the main drawcard for me lately to make the 40-minute drive there.

Perhaps I ordered the most mediocre item from the menu but I felt Vic's Meat Market was a bit overrated. Burger was very average and was more or less the same story with the fries. Really not much to say otherwise, perhaps try something else on the menu though.
#TheSydneyFoodSocial
Pulled pork burgers & ribs all way! This joint smashes out the most tender and juciest meat!! Best to go on a weekday when there are no crowds. Faster service, no line up and you get a seat!

The quick and dirty: great meat, at a lower than average price.

What else?
- Simple menu- mostly steak, burgers, etc.
- if you’re picky and are looking for a variety of cuts, check the menu first,
- great to come as a group to sample more food,
- open for dinner!
In Short: Who would have thought to put a meat butcher and smokehouse & grill diner in the midst of Sydney Fish Market? Vic’s Meats did, and it is a worthy addition ! Now you can get your premium surf and turf ingredients in one convenient location just a stone’s throw from the Sydney CBD. DO NOT leave Vic’s without sampling the Wagyu Scotch Fillet. It’s the best meat we’ve sampled in 2018!
Excuse Me Waiter
We’ve been fans of the premium quality meat from Vic’s Meat Market for a while now (ironically available from their outlet at the Sydney Fish Market) and were happy to hear that their Smokehouse & Grill is now open for dinner from Thursdays through to Saturdays, dishing up a gourmet feed in a casual environment.
Ellen Ehrhardt Smith
You go to VIC’S MEAT MARKET in the Fish Market if you want a big, meaty feed. That seems kind of obvious, but since opening for dinners on Thursday to Saturday nights, their SMOKEHOUSE & GRILL has added some ridiculously tasty things on the menu! We were invited to go and check it all out. As you can see from the picture above, we way overordered…
Sven C Nilsson
Big serves, big flavour! A little hidden treasure in the midst of the fish markets. Staff helpful, seats are bar stools around high tables, not that easy for children, elderly or this in wheelchairs.
Weekendfoodescapes
Weekend Food Escapes in particular Matt are MASSIVE fans of Vic's Meat Market. So when I recently found out they are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights with a new menu. I had to get there immediately! Woop Wooppp! Matt was looking forward to this all week when I told him we would be heading here on this particular Friday night.
Eats With Marie
Located near the entrance of the fish market carpark, I’m surprised I’ve never heard more about Vic’s Smokehouse & Grill!

The first time we visited Vic’s it was almost closing time on a Sunday afternoon and they had sold out of virtually everything on the menu – we said we’d take whatever they could give us! A 400g beef short rib, the weekend special beef brisket snack pack and a side of slaw which came to approximately $50, which I think is fantastic value for the amount of food we received.

A clever twist on the beloved Halal Snack Pack, Vic’s Meat Market offers a layer of golden chips, fresh out of the deep frier and tossed in the perfect amount of salt and herbs, topped with juicy, tender beef brisket, chopped pickles and hot sauce. The end result is an incredibly satisfying balance of rich, smoky meat with the salty chips, pops of sour pickle and a tingle of chilli.

We also managed to snag the very last beef short rib of the day, which weighed in at approximately 400g, and I can honestly say this is the best beef rib I’ve ever had. Soft, succulent, perfectly seasoned and carrying all those incredible smoky flavours from their 2 tonne ironbark smoker. Although the rib paired well with their hot sauce, I found the meat had so much flavour that it didn’t need it at all – I don’t come across that too often!
That's Neat
The brisket sandwich from Vic’s Meat Market is pure satisfaction.

The sandwich comprises of smoky succulent brisket that melts in your mouth, accompanied by some light coleslaw and a soft sweet bun. Each bite is as good as the last.

Service can be very friendly depending on the server. As they make the sandwich in front of you, once the server purposely put in a lump of fat, taking out the meat to fill the bun. Not being a big fan of eating fat I had to take this out later. Also wouldn’t recommend their meal option with drink, as the drink was just a small plastic cup instead of a can of soft drink.

Get in early as items often sell out. Treat yourself to some burnt ends and fries.
This is a place I’ve revisited a number of times and would definitely recommend.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
Vic’s meat market is located in the fish market district of Pyrmont. It may sound weird that you would visit a fish market for meat, but Vic Meat Market makes the trip well worthwhile. The space is huge with a great balcony overlooking the water. Its part butchery part restaurant, a place where you can pop in for a delicious meal and pick up some amazing high quality produce on the way out.
Thewhereto
We love the burgers here, especially for their high quality meat. We were here this time for their 3rd birthday party and ate burgers, as well as some skewered kebabs. Certainly a top place to visit if you're in the area.
The Sydney Tram
After stuffing our stomach with seafood , we entered Vic's Meat Market, a small burger store right next to Sydney Fish Market out of curiousity. The staff offered us a menu with limited items, and I picked wagyu grilled cheese burger for sharing. With $12 for top quality meat, we quickly consumed it despite being full.

Since it was still early, the staff was making elotes (Mexican sweet corn) and he asked if we would like some for free. I couldn't resist the genuine hospitality and the smell of Cojita cheese. This place is a hidden gem!

As part of my fish market experience, I wanted to try different dishes from different places. From vic meat, I got the 3 cheesy scallops. It wasn't the best thing I've ever had, but it is definitely worth trying! For the price, it is also affordable,3 for 12 dollars ! 😊
Who says you can only have fish & chips at the Fish Market? We can get pulled pork roll, brisket sandwich and smoked wagyu beef burger here too!
The portion size is not big and the service is a bit lacking. The brisket sandwich is quite good.

It is ironic to eat a beef burger at the fish market but it had many positive reviews, so I decided to try it when I had the chance. It had a beautiful butchery beside the restaurant, with many grade and cuts of meat displayed in an open environment. It sparked the journey to my understanding of steak. The dining area was casual modern but the smokers and barrels felt out of place. The smell of smoked meats made me salivate. We ordered at the cashier and food was delivered shortly.

Double Wagyu burger had substantial volume, patties were much thicker than what I expected. However, I was disappointed when I ate it. The first impact was smokey but it lacked the punch from the sauces. Wagyu patties were lukewarm. The texture was surprising though because it used diced beef instead of minced beef. Patties were also juicier as expected. The impact of wagyu beef in the burger was debatable but it had good value for wagyu patties. Because Vic's Meat Market primarily sells beef, the restaurant business was able to deliver value for the burger. It has the potential to make the best value burgers.
Love At First Bite
Find us on instagram: loveatfirstbite_aus

This is a great restaurant in the Sydney Fish Market, specialising in high quality wagyu meat and ribs. We ordered their Brisket Sandwich, full rack of pork ribs with slaw and pickles and the double smoked wagyu cheese burger. The quality of the meat was amazing, everything was cooked to perfection and so tender, with the sauces and condiments complimenting the dishes nicely. They also sell a range of wagyu cuts that you can buy to take home and cook yourself. Definitely a must try for meat lovers!

It's Friday lunchtime and my colleagues and I decided to do something different - head down to the fish markets. What we didn't expect was that we would have such an outstanding experience without even having seafood!

That barbeque smell that makes us all salivate drew us right in, and the brisket and wagyu beef burgers were absolutely phenomenal. The patties were moist, cooked to perfection and agreeable to all of our tastes.

The service we received from Ivan was cheerful, respectful, quick, passionate and knowledgeable.

This was the first of many, many trips to Vic's Meat Market, and I highly recommend the overall experience for any lunchtime occasion.

This place has pretty interesting location since it's near the Fish market and their wagyu meat is very nice. The service however is a bit unfriendly but we didn't mind it since they were quick to take orders. The quality of their burgers isn't that amazing but it's good enough to enjoy. Usually around lunch time, the venue gets insanely packed especially on the weekend. It's hard to find seats or a vacant table so we usually order and then go eat elsewhere. The pricing overall is decent and our only wish during our meal was to have some freshly salted chips with our burgers. (≧∇≦)

Delicious brisket and short rib worth the trip into pyrmont; but appalling cold judgemental service.

Having been seriously impressed by my first visit several months ago, this place warranted a revisit. However this time was marred by the rude, indifferent if not snobbish service i received.
Peanutbutter&jelly
IMO this place does not do burgers as well as other places in Sydney. For a good decent burger you need the bun and patty to harmonize like Sonny & Cher. In this case, the patty is like a rockstar and the bun is some 16 YO who just posted their first cover onto YouTube. The whole meal was too sweet for me. The bun was so sweet it could be a dessert bun. Thumbs up for the meat. Not so much for anything else including price.

As a lazy Sunday's lunchtime rolled around, I jumped on the light rail to the fish markets in great anticipation of trying Vic's, having heard good things about their burgers and sandwiches.

I ordered the brisket sandwich after being told by the server that it was their most popular item, and I was not disappointed. The brisket was deliciously tender, and was complemented well by the sweet, smokey barbeque sauce. The slaw further added some crunchier texture to the sandwich, without detracting from the tasty flavour of the sauce and brisket. Sure, it's not the prettiest sandwich you'll ever see, but it was served quickly and tasted great. My only (minor) criticisms of the meal is that the deck overlooking the bay is largely disrupted by views of the broader fish markets, and it seemed amiss that my sandwich could not be accompanied by some hot, crispy chips. But hey, you can't have everything in life.

Overall, I would highly recommend any meat lovers to take a lunchtime venture down to Vic's, and I know that I will definitely be back to try the wagyu cheeseburger and ribs.
Valerie Do
After lots of anticipation I finally got the try this place, but by the time I got there the beef brisket was all sold out. Got the wagyu cheeseburger instead, it was very succulent and moist especially being in the the oven so long. Service and food came out quickly which was a bonus! The slaw was also very tasty but a little overpriced. Would definitely come back to the try the Japanese wagyu bar, as it reminded me of Japan and how they prepared Kobe 😍
Masud Gholami
Best briskets in town. Dont be shy ask for a double brisket !!! Such a shame they can't server hot chips but the quality of good and lovely staff make it worthwhile trying!
Ricky
Not acceptable. Everything on the menu was sold out. Not only that, they gave their last customers very little (and stingy) potions of brisket on the sandwich because they were running out.
Elo
Food might be good at this place although Ill never know. Took my litttle one and wife here to have some lunch, although for some reason at 12.30pm they had run out of chicken wings and burnt ends. Wagyu beef burger was a 25min wait and the little bit of beef brisket left over appeared very dry. So basically I was limited to pulled pork, although I'm not a big fan of pulled pork. Staff at the counter were really nice about it, although for a "meat market" to run out of meat by lunch time Sunday is quite silly.
FoodLuva
Went here for lunch today. Started with Vics Rib Sandwich and a Young Henry's. Smashing combination. The rib meat is so tender and smokey, considering it was cooking in a yoder smoker for over 8 hours id expect nothing less. It's served with coleslaw and sauce on a brioche bun. Delicious!
Was still hungry though (perhaps because the buns are so light) so ordered a smoked wagyu cheese burger. This bad boy is all about the meat, delicious smoked pattie, slice of cheese, sauce and mustard on a brioche bun and that's it - one word, Awesome.
Only a 15 min walk from our CBD office so I'll be back for sure.

This place is just flavoursome beyond words... If you're into American style BBQ you gotta try everything this place has to offer, but be prepared to pay for it... Not for those who are on a budget..
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Whilst renowned for its fresh seafood, Sydney Fish Markets is also home to quality butcher Vic's Meat Market. Which also operates as a burger joint. And steakhouse.

I inducted myself with a double wagyu cheeseburger and slaw. Meals here aren't cheap but there's no doubting the quality.
Kai Luv
The cold wet weather turned my thoughts to all things wintry, from where it was a hop skip and a jump to thinking about St. Louis pork ribs, slaw and pickles. The food was really good but certainly not cheap - $44 for a meal that serves 1 -2. Would come here as a special treat but definitely not everyday prices.
Gabbys79
Unfortunately I only got to try the brisket sandwich because I was saving myself for seafood lunch... OMG amazing! Melt in your mouth meat basted in amazingness with coleslaw on a bun.. Wow. I'd come back to eat more! Make sure you stop into the butcher too
Princess Greedy Guts
I love the fish market & I love Vic's meats. So when this place opened at the fish market I was so excited that I can shop & indulge simultaneously. There is a beast of a smoker where the beef brisket & ribs are cooked in & both are amazing. The pulles pork is also delicious with a hint of sweetness & the wings are decent but the spicy sauce is thin, unlike the original version in the US. There is also a classy Penfolds bar where you can have a $75 burger & a glass of Grange in case you really want to indulge.
Food_Rampage_AM @INSTA
Got their beef n pork ribs along with slaw pickles jalapenos. Arrived early to avoid the crowd only to learn that they begin serving @10 rather than when they open. Having had a huge breaky of murtabak, there was no chance of stuffing my face with the seafood @fish market. So went to their 'cool room' to chk out the butcher side.

Whoa!! Impressed with their meat selection esp the various cuts of beef available, how they have different grades of marbling for most cuts and the selection of what the moo-moo were fed before they end up here. Might return here if i can persuade someone to fire up our bbq 😊.

Beef ribs were tender, almost falling off the bone kind, right on the cusp of being a little dry but it is not. Not bad seasoning, kind of sweet. Good quality meat, cooked reasonably well (charred smoky flavour present and included) 4/5. Hurricane's a little more sinewy chewy and less sweet.

Ditto with the oink oink ribs, i like the fact they offer to cut them for us 😄. Compared to hurricane (u knw tats coming eh?), the pork ribs is noticeably better @hurricane but that's NOT to say Vic's is bad. Matter of preference. 3.5/5

Their slaw i like. Good ratio of veg vs dressing, not wet n soaked in dressing. Love their jalapenos and cucumber pickle too, served separately. Nyum with the ribs. They were not done as an afterthought.

Will return👍🏼. Give it a go guys.

Hey guys,
Can I just live in your bain-marie of burnt ends?
My heaven...reminds me of home and is the perfect (high-caloric-whatever-don't-care) cure to homesickness.

The wings aren't fried or finished on the grill so be aware that they're soggy, if that's not your thing. That being said, I stand behind my review score as the pork and brisket is that good.
Beng Lim
Tried the wagyu cheese burger, brisket sandwich with a side of potatoes. Did not enjoy anything we ordered; our wagyu patty was precooked and left in a warmer which was just slapped into our bun, our brisket had good flavour but was quite tough and chewy unlike other places we've had..
The RnB Diary
Wow meat doesn't get any fresher and better quality than Vic. A visit to fish market usually entails lots of prawns oysters and fish but this time we didn't even look at the seafood. We came specially for the meat. The scotch and eye fillets were juicy and tender, no need for any dressing or sauce, the flavor from the meat was all it took. We also bought kangaroo steak and black pudding sausage. It was probably one of the best butchery in Sydney!
I Ate My Way Through
Located in the precinct of the Sydney Fish Market, Vic’s Meat Market is one part meat market and one part Restaurant and bar, showcasing their amazing produce in a range of smoked and BBQ meats.

Just had the pork ribs and they were overcooked.... again. Still want to try the burgers and pulled pork, beef rib was good when I tried it a few weeks ago

Love it... Can't wait to go back. Want to try everything on the limited but smokey delicious menu.
We had the brisket and a smoked wagyu burger... Couldn't choose which one I liked more as both were so damn delicious.
Yum!

There was a period of time when I was absolutely obsessed with barbecue. Like barbecue errthang. Meat, marinaded, plain, sausages, basted, wings, foiled…I mean, ERRTHANG. Because it’s all about that smoke, ’bout that smoke, no trouble. So when my Instagram just exploded with pictures of Vic’s Meat Market’s luscious, shiny, barbecued thangs, I just had to put it on the Eat List.

Refreshing to see some meat at the fish market! The butcher side is absolutely amazing stocked with some excellent cuts of meat - rib eye on bone I'm coming back for you. The restaurant side has a funky feel complete with DJ, Young Henry's on tap and love the smokers on display. Being a burger lover I couldn't go past the smoked wagyu cheese. Unwrapped the bad boy and it looked amaze. So juicy and quite tasty but I cant help but feel the meat and cheese got lost under all the sauce. The patty felt a bit too well formed and processed but that's my taste. The mac and cheese was a let down - too gloopy and lacked seasoning.
Nina
Great place, great concept, great food! Had the pulled pork burger which was so moist and soft. The only critique is the serving sizes - about 25% too small which is just a little bit disappointing as it left me feeling dissatisfied. Would rather pay a bit more and walk out feeling like I've had a good meal.
ThatFoodDude.
I love being greeted with the sweet smell of smoking meats on arrival. I've tried close to everything on the menu, with the pulled pork sandwich a stand out for me. If you're lucky enough to visit during one of their events, expect plenty of cold beer, a stack of smoked meats and some easy-going tunes. If there's one thing for certain, it's that Vic knows his meats.

First time here. Yum! Got a brisket - roll. Loaded with filling and gorgeous bread roll. Perfect! Service was friendly and efficient. Gorgeous view of the water. Will be here again!

A right place to buy a fresh meat with a reasonable prices. I am happy to travel far just to get the perfect meat for my dinner. A home-made steak with a good quality of meat.
Martin C
The shop side is a carnivores delight with every bit and piece from the usual beasts and birds. The beef is always very good and the pressure is on to cook it in the manner it deserves.
On the servery side I have had a couple of burgers now. The pick for me is the brisket which is fantastically tender with a deep smokey flavour.
As fascinating as the fish markets are, a fish burger or prawn is no match for kettle bbq meats.
Monica
Going to Sydney Fish Market doesn't mean you need to get seafood anymore !
Beside the beautiful cuts of meats available in the butcher area, you can also get your brunch/lunch covered with mouth watering offering of smoked meats next door.
I had the Smoked Wagyu Cheeseburger (double patty also available ) which was just delicious ! This time round the ratio of patty, mustard and pickles to the bun was just on point. If you see Burnt Ends on the menu - order it !! Juicy, crusty burnt bits from the brisket doused in sweet BBQ sauce - delish.
Onajourneywithfood
Had a look around the meat shop before going into the restaurant area. Large smoker pumping out amazing beef brisket rolls, smoked wagyu beef burgers and yummy chicken wings. We saw the full rack of pork ribs and it looks amazing! Friendly staff and I really recommend the brisket it's delicious! 😋
Princess_Porky
As hardcore meat lovers, this place is the stuff of dreams. We love everything we've tried so far. Yet to try the lamb though as they never seem to have it when we're there. The brisket burger is our absolute favourite but the cheeseburger comes a close second. And the pickle slaw is the perfect accompaniment to cut through all the yummy fat and meat. We've had BBQ in the US many times and this stacks up just as good as any southern BBQ joint. These guys know their meats and they know how to cook them. Pit master Anton is amazing.
Kathleen Ooi
We only had one item here but the beef brisket alone is worth you dropping everything you are doing and rushing here immediately. I genuinely think this brisket changed my life. Melt-in-mouth, succulent, juicy, slow-cooked beef brisket was cooked to absolute perfection and sandwiched between two pillowy soft white buns. The brisket was packed with flavour and had a delicious smoky charred edge to it that contrasted brilliantly with the crunchy cabbage and tangy bbq sauce in the bun. Going to end this review because I'm bordering on sounding deranged but this sandwich was just that amazing :)

The iconic Sydney Fish Market, a precinct filled with fish mongers, bakeries, deli, fruit and vegetable grocers has now got its first ever butcher. The Vic’s Meat Market opened last weekend and will provide a unique experience for customers by offering a range of meat cuts, grass and grain fed steaks, a wide selection of organic options plus game and wild meat.

Their Smoked Wagyu Cheeseburger is so good! Smoky, tender, juicy.. It falls apart easily and melts in your mouth as soon as I sink my teeth into it..

OMG no words! The Beef brisket is freaking amazing $10 ... i had a lovely even layer of burnt fatty goodness and my mouth was in heaven! The bun is soft and the bbq sauce is sweet and perfect! If you havent been go asap because i highly recommend this place!
FoodsterAu
I recall reading somewhere that they sold brisket… which got me super excited… and despite already bringing my lunch… I still ventured out to try this place… just to see if it’s the real deal and my go to

place from now. I lined up and notice they had pull-pork… but I’m so over it.. as pulled pork is such a simple recipe that you can whack in a slow cooker and it just comes out great… which shocks me when

some places still can’t get It right. So I got my brisket… which was quite a small serving and looked around at the small restaurant with limited seating… so I decided to take mine to the park across from

the fish markets to eat. Unfortunately it was not so great… the brisket was dry, the portion was small and it just felt unappealing. The burger didn’t pack any punches nor meltin your mouth… nor had a

sauce that stood out. Shame though..the concept is amazing.. but I always feel the brisket needs to have some layers of fat… just to add some variance to each bite.

King Kong. Coming from the light rail, you enter the Sydney Fish Market and veer to the right. Went there early on a Sunday and 3 people there - one tucking into the wagyu double beef burger. Ordered the smoked brisket sandwich (some of the menu wasn't ready yet). Was served before I could even put the receipt in my wallet! No plate, no cutlery, just handed the sandwich. Went outside to eat and view the carpark and sandwich is awesome. Ambience - zero, food quality - very good. Later went over to the Fish Markets and thousands of Chinese tourists there - maybe they're not so interested in smoked meat.

Nestled among the plethora of seafood stores at the Sydney Fish Markets is Vic's Meat Market. A gem in a 'sea' of food, Vic's Meats comes to us from the premium meat purveyors Victor Churchill.

12/05/2015 Isaac (@iFat23) The Sydney Fish Markets are renowned across the country as one of the premiere spots to get ahold of some fresh seafood. Restraunteurs, chefs and tourists alike all flock to its location by the water in Pyrmont to get ahold of succulent prawns, the finest cuts of tuna and an assortment of crustaceans just waiting to be devoured. Me? I’m not a normal guy. I went to the fish markets to get meat. More specifcally, I went to an office meat-up at Vic’s Meat Market. Vic’s Meat Market is a carnivore’s dream come true. With a range of meat from marbled wagyu, succulent ribs and chickens that weren’t quick enough to escape during the chicken run; carnivores will definitely be able to get their fill of protein at this waterside location. If you look closely, you’ll see the best food blogger in Sydney. Oh and you’ll see Chocolatesuze as well. Let’s meat the food now shall we? Smoked chicken wings I love wings. I feel like Red Bull’s marketing team knew this when they developed the slogan. I’m still trying to kick my addiction. Anywho, the wings at Vic’s were awesome. They’re incredibly smoky and tender and the bone just twists away, leaving you with a lovely bit of chicken meat that you can dip into the provided wing sauce. Red Bull may not actually give you wings, but I’m glad Vic’s does. Lamb cutlets I really enjoyed the spices that laced the lamb. The meat itself was also quite fatty and you know there are few things I like more than a fatty. Wait, that didn’t come out right.

Also at the fish markets now is Vics, which has anything but fish but you’ll be glad for it because their meat is incredible. They’ve got a ginormous smoker which is flipping out burger patties and other pull meats, a wagyu bar where one of the staff can plate up some of their super quality meat and then there’s the meat fridge where you can buy some to take home.

Vic’s Meats is a Sydney institution of fine butchery, supplying our fair city’s every carnivorous need through their wholesale butchery in Mascot and their upmarket retail butchery, Victor Churchill, in Woollahra. Vic’s newest venture is a brave push into seafood territory, with ‘Vic’s Meat Market’ located at Sydney’s iconic fish markets in Pyrmont. Vic’s Meat Market is a shrine to all things a carnivore would love… from dried to fresh meats (in a variety of cuts) and even its own attached BBQ Wagyu Bar, complete with the largest meat smoker outside of the US (as proudly exclaimed by Vic’s CEO Anthony Puharich).

An amazing array of good quality meats. We couldn't resist the Wagyu Scotch Fillet.

I do recall that just about everyone approved of all the meats that came out and the most popular cut was clearly the picanha which is one of the most popular cuts in Brazil. One of the most surprising takes was that the rump steak which was prepared and cook by the chef costs only $10 per kg which I thought was one hell of a steal. The cut tastes so good even without any

If sandwiches aren't your thing, Vic's Meat Market also has ribs and smoked chicken wings to satisfy your hunger. Pricing was generally pretty affordable if you order the sandwiches, burgers and chicken wings (ranging $8.00-$10.00) however if you get the ribs, that will set you back at least $25.00. The food gets prepared very fast

This picanha churrasco sizzling away on the griddle is sexier than a dozen half naked Brazilian girls doing the samba in my face.

There is no capital punishment in Australia as we are a compassionate people. But if there was ever a last meal for lovers of cheeseburgers, may I humbly say this bad boy right here is the real deal.

The brisket sandwich ($10) was insanely delicious! The meat was super tender, extremely fatty (that way it should be), juicy and packed with so much smokiness. The slaw nicely offsets the richness of the brisket and the barbecue sauce adds a nice tang and kick. It was absolute bliss!

Meat. It's the one thing that's been missing from the Sydney Fish Market . Until now. The new Vic's Meat Market set-up is all set for carnivores, combining butchery and American smokehouse in a one-stop-shop

Vic’s Meat Market opened at the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont selling pork ribs, ginormous beef short ribs, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches and everything is AMAZING
