It’s been a long 2 months with the Goulburn street side of World Square a deadzone from its typically long queues and sidewalk views into the kitchen and dining area tempting passing foot traffic. Entering its sixth year, Abb Air are here to stay having just renewed their contract with the centre. As part of the terms, signage and shopfronts are being brought into line in phases to coincide with some overhauls and developments at World Square itself, the neighbouring properties and this particular area of the city in general – stay tuned!
One of the best Thai places in the CBD! The food is delicious, portions are large; Can't really ask for more! Would definitely visit again! :)
What’s unique about this place? They have unusual food you won’t find at other Thai restaurants. It is one of the best Thai food I have in Sydney. It is value for money. The staff are friendly. The food was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Authentic Thai flavours in a very central location at a reasonable price. Service is okay, decor is nice and both indoor and outdoor seating options. Very extensive menu and everything made fresh. Will be back again to try more. Get a great discount with Eatclub app too.
We were near Thai Town but around World Square and halpe Ed on this place - it seemed popular a d so we thought we'd give it a go. We both wanted soup-based dishes so the me u was appealing with their hotpot etc. Good range of options on the menu and will certainly go back and try other options sometime.
Must try King Prawn Pad Thai! Great mix of flavors. Very authentic. Serving size isn’t a lot but the taste and quality is worth the price. Would definitely rank this restaurant as one of the best in the CBD.
Wow their mix mushroom is sooooo good! They even had “silver ear”, a white fungus eaten in China. Xihuahua 🐶 amost ate the whole plate! Pad siew is pretty nice with lots vege and tofu. Green curry was average, I just do not like that elastic kinda of beef with a pink hue Thai restaurants use sometimes!
Beneath the simple allure of Abb Air’s menu lies a multitude of flavours, each with its own story. The recipes of Abb Air have been passed down through generations preserving the traditional Thai taste. Using fresh herbs, authentic spices, fresh ingredients and exotic seasoning, they redefine traditional dishes to ensure all customers receive an unparalleled Thai dining experience.
+3 Decent food, ambience, staff.
+1 interesting items on the menu / good crispy pork.
Noise level: normal to loud.
Will return for:
Soft shell crab yellow curry, delicious!!
Stir fry crispy pork, saucy but still crispy!
Kitkat smoothie
They’re open till late which is a plus :) seating is cramped but the service is good.
Beware:
As with all thai salads, tasty but super spicy!
Chicken stir fry and garlic chicken rice was so so.
Only order the Pandan Offel Congee if you like the taste of liver.
I never realised how good this place was until a recent post on Sydney Food Bloggers mentioned it and this dish. #69 Pad Prik Khing - stir fried crispy pork belly with curry paste with green beans, sliced kaffir lime leaves and pork rind ($14.90) had thinnish slices of pork with a good balance of nice crackling bits and fatty bits. Very tasty flavours and a pleasant chilli kick sitting on a bed of rice. A one plate wonder most suitable for a solo diner. Service was friendly and the menu looked interesting with a mix of Thai classics and some others dishes I haven't seen before. Will definitely need to return.
