Came here with a mate, he got a pizza (pictured) and I got a boscaiola and we shared an Italian salad. The salad was nothing to write about but it did the job. Pizza & pasta were fantastic as was the service from the lovely waitress
Frank's pizza is another Sydney restaurant that has been operating for years. The pizza's and lasagne are great! Don't skip gelato after dinner!
For a Sunday lunch we were looking for a cheap and nice place to eat some pizza, which would be open around 2pm. If you are looking for something similar, this place is great! We ordered large margherita, medium mushroom and medium Australian. They were all good, however a little bit too salty, but it depends on your taste. Waiters are very friendly, but sometimes forget what you asked for :)
Love this place...great food, great ambience and lovely hospitality...
I have been to Frank's pizza so many times and never once been disappointed. Penne Arabiata is our family favourite. Pizza is awesome and staff are very friendly and professional.

I have driven past this pizzeria many of times and never thought about stopping by until yesterday when it was all wet and cold, with a real hankering for pizza. At lunch time, most of the pizza palours don't open until 5-6pm which was a shame. Despite the down pour, I still managed to get myself ready and head out the door to Frank's. It never ceases to surprise me the motivation I find when craving for a certain type of food to gobble.
Trawled through the Internet to see what, around the inner city had a pizzeria open during the day, and voila! Frank's it was.
The interior of this place is quite rustic and had that homey vibe to it. Simply decor that got the job done, is how I would describe this place. It's also one of those family friendly places, as there were quite a few children in the restaurant when we were dining there.
The staff were prompt in their greetings and bringing our the menu and taking your drinks order, so prompt tbat you don't even have time to look at the menu. The menu had all the traditional stuff and kept things simple which I thought was marvellous. Makes decision making so much easier. What's really cool is how they recycle their tins of tomatoes that they use and turned it into a pizza stand, good way of upcycling.
So...
We ordered to share: one medium size pizza that equated to three slices each but got half and half topping, as this alleviated any form of disagreement which is always a bonus. We got half marinara and
Supreme. I personally preferred the supreme and the seafood on the pizza looked as though they were frozen seafood, as they were quite small in size and had that frozen look about it. Seldom would you get fresh seafood on pizza, hence I try to stay away from the seafood topping range. We also ordered their creamed pesto ravioli which was average, as it lacked flavour and all you could taste was the creaminess. But that was enough for the two of us, and bonus point is... there was room for dessert!
I got the tarimisu and my culinary compatriot ordeted a nutella mousse and the size was rather one heck of a helping! We could have just shared a dessert had we known that it was LARGE!
All in all it was a delightful experience and we were thoroughly satisfied. The prices were rather reasonable and the desserts were dirt cheap! $6.50. That made my day. On a final note, be aware that this place doesn't take card and it's a cash only premises. We got caught out and had to run across the road to get cash out. So annoying how places don't take card, half of us rarely carry money on us anymore. Oh! And I wish they would do home delivery as well. Apart from that, nothing else. :)
This restaurant is open till 11pm as we came here for a late night feed. Always a reliable place for a decent pizza, we ordered a bunch of pizzas including Margherita, Marinara, and Meat Lovers. They were tasty and hit the spot. Whilst not gourmet they are decent value for the pizzas we had. For desserts we shared a Tiramisu and Nutella Mousse. Both were very delicious. Service is friendly and personable. Please note they are cash only.
Good food & atmosphere- super friendly service. Their lasagna & pizzas are delicious and way too easy to eat, and the Italian red wines are waaaaay too easy to drink :) There's always plenty of wait staff around too so you never wait long to order.
Franks is a reliable pizzaria that serves the classics at a good price. The interior is huge qnd you're likely to get a lunchtime table but this place packs out at night.
My small hawaiian pizza hit all the right notes and, along with the fresh italian salad, was a satisfying lunch. Hubs had a napolitana that was similarly good. Nothing fancy but always filling and reliable. The winner was the nutella mousse that we got to go, fooling ourselves that we would wait until we got home to eat it. We didn't. We inhaled that sucker in the car.
Frank's Pizza is far from perfect. However when you combine decent food and fair prices, you know you're on to something good.
The menu selection is relatively standard. You have all the staple pizza varieties and a several side dishes, most well priced. I mean you can't go too wrong with a $4 salad as long as the ingredients are fresh which they seem to be. In the several times I've been here I've opted to customise my own pizza (based on the Napoletana) as many of the existing varieties lack inspiration. The pizza itself isn't the calibre of some other pizza places, however the bases are decent and toppings as good as you could expect. Actually for the price I can't think of a better pizza.
Service is friendly and I've never had trouble finding a table. One issue that remains frustrating after all these years is the lack of eftpos facilities. Cash only. I hope they don't get audited.
P.S if they have Nutella mouse when you're there make sure you grab one. They were a very pleasant surprise.
Not the best pizza but tries very hard, especially with service, atmosphere and the food itself.
The pizzas here are not bad but seem to lack a bit of that wow taste factor, this might be because there's a lack of wow factor ingredients and creativity
I've read so many reviews and heard so much hype about the pizzas at Frank's so I had to try. I ordered ahead for a takeaway and was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency on the other side of the phone. Pizza was excellent, as expected (not the best I've had, but very good). Only downside is they do not accept EFTPOS :(
Great place! I live close by so order take away when I'm too lazy to cook. Consistently great, filling, delicious and cheap. Happily bring equally hungry n cheap friends here!
Great for the little ones. We had 3 under 6yo in our dinner party last weekend and the staff couldn't have been more obliging. Bringing out pizza dough for the kids to play with, which entertained them until the food came out. Great value and a reliably friendly family night out.
The menu is pretty basic, but they’re not precious about mixing and matching as you like, and what they do they do well. A starting snack of garlic pizza had us at bon giorno: The crust was thin and crispy, the garlic redolent. My Napoletana – olives and anchovies – was augmented with pepperoni and was pretty much the Platonic ideal of the pie. Everyone else was happy with their selections. And has been noted elsewhere, the prices look like they were set around the time Bob Hawke was putting away Blanche.
Good stuff! Good value and atmosphere. We're frequent visitors.
Reliably good pizza and pasta every time. Never had a bad experience food and service wise at Frank's. Think I've tried all the pizzas on the menu and all were good. Really reasonable pricing and portions. Staff are always obliging. Only downside was the last time I went there were 2 massive cockroaches walking around. Staff quickly got onto them as soon as I pointed them out (granting it was a really hot day and the probably crawled in from under the roller shutters).
Hands down the best thin crust brick oven pizza in the city.Amazing
Great food, great atmosphere. Great food, definitely recommend the messicana pizza. Friendly warm environment, you instantly feel at home in. Good prices too!
Heifer. This place is the best. Great service, great food, good value. The pizza and lasagne is the best.

This place is a throw back to the good old days before people decided to take a good old fashioned Pizza and try ad make it better by adding the word "Gourmet"... Pizza's cooked and prepared well don't need anything done to them, they thrive on their own. Thank you Frank for taking me back in time to when I was a little kid.... That includes prices also ;-))
Delizioso. Everything that the above reviewers said and more!! Service friendly and quick, pizzas delicious and great value!! Can't wait to try all of the other flavours! The gelato is also superb.
Great pizzas at great prices. This bar/restaurant threw me back to my 1970s. Indeed the owner Frank is proud to state his pizza dough hasn't changed in aeons.
Choose from 14 varieties of pizza. Mine? A classic Neopoletana - medium sized priced only $13.
Freshest of black olives, anchovies and tomato paste on an easily digestible pizza base.
Small is priced at $11 and large is $15. Another reason to think I was back in the '70s!
The ambience of the setting is easy too - barn style - with posters of the main cities of Italy on the walls and a billboard adorned with memorabilia of Frank's local history going back to when phone numbers were only 7 digits.
Although full, we unnecesarily also fressed out on Frank's own in house gelato. I chose a chocolate and pistachio combo which were generous in portion size and great in flavour. Served in a stainless bowl, with a perfect square tipped spoon to scoop up every morsel.
Guy Gross of film and music fame has been a customer of Frank's for years and has been wanting me to eat with him here for ages. Now having done that, I understand why he was keen for me to do so.
There are many restaurants in Sydney, but this easily becomes a favourite, based on friendliness, warmth, and quality food - all at an affordable price.
Classic uni pizza joint, lots of great food. Thought we lost gem for months before realising its just further up Parra Rd than before.
I could not think of a better venue in the inner west for a big crowd to farewell a friend on a European vacation than at Frank's, which is what we did tonight! The restaurant is in an old garage that makes a great ambiance, the staff are friendly and the service is quick. The food is great value for money and the simple menu is good too. My only criticism is that there was just a bit too much dressing on the green salad (a bit like would you like salad with your dressing?!). Great for bigger groups as cheap, friendly and BYO! I recommend Frank!!
Cheap 1980's prices and delicious old style pizzas. Not gourmet by a long shot but old style deep dish pizzas I used to have when I was a kid! A bit kitch (iceberg lettuce salad!) makes it all the more loveable.
Ah Franks pizza. An institution, surely. Good pizza, ok salads, nice place. Cheap, too! We go often.
Been two days in a row. Great to be able ro great a decent pizza. Fun surroundings too!
Amazing food, totally authentic homemade style ingredients. Pizzas are perfect and the pastas are drool worthy. Also the apple pie desert just melts in your mouth. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and a special shout out to Daniela our hostess who made us feel like part of the family. Our new favourite Italian restaurant!
The best. Doesn't matter what question you ask, Frank's is the best. It's a staple for me and I always come back. Beautiful pizza, pasta and sides. Family friendly environment, lovely staff, and amazing price. Never been happier walking away from a meal away from home.
I went here for the first time to test this place out recently with a small group. The staff was attentive, the food was delicious and there was a nice ambiance in the restaurant. I will definitely go back and I can see Franks becoming my ‘go to’ for big family events as the restaurant is spacious.
THE BEST Italian food i have had .. I have driven past Franks numerous times and always said I want to drop in. I finally went in last week .. I have found a new home !
Our Hostess For the evening was Dani, she was Amazing, Friendly, Funny and Very knowledgeable about everything we asked on the menu.
Cant Wait to go back
Awesome food, quick service and even better pay by cash and get a discount
This place is amazing! The atmosphere was great we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and incredible aroma of baking pizza. They have a wide arrange of pizza, past, desserts and drinks. We ordered a pizza and pasta and it was delicious. The crust was crispy, flavourful with home made sauce and the toppings worked together beautifully. Best pizza in Sydney hands down The pasta was packed with flavour and presented with great staff. By the end of our meal we were planning our next visit. This is a place to go with family, friends, partners or solo, I loved it. Must try this place! Excellent service, great owners that make you feel welcome the minute you walk through the door.
