shalom!
Great staff! Food is light & really tasty
We have been here twice & can’t fault it.
Eggs Florentine , Tel Aviv & I think the felafel burger were all amazing. Coffee is on point & the green vegetable juice w/ ginger & watermelon to top it off.
Parking on crown street can be a pain but that’s pretty much it & Great for people watching ;)
Yalla Nakoul!
Love this cafe, food and coffee were amazing! Staffs were friendly with good atmosphere. definitely go back to try something else and introduce to my circle.

🍴 TAMAR PANCAKES: vanilla creme, date molasses, strawberries and banana 🍴
*NEW MENU ITEM* The team behind Shenkin (Erskineville, Enmore, Surry Hills) have added some new items to their breakfast menu - inparticular some pretty ones for those sweet tooths out there. A double stack of really light and fluffy pancakes, with nice simple cream and a beautiful date molasses which is sticky and sweet without being sickening. It's a really nice change from the usual maple. Definitely worth a mention in best pancakes lists 👌
Good taste and various choice of the menu, I love the wraps and also baked sausage in hot plate. Located at a convenient place, reasonable price as well!! Will come again!
We came here for a private function (whole venue booked). Great food, particularly falafel & hummus and great service. It's in a great location. Quite a small space but what there is has lots of character. Would love to return and see it during normal operation & try more of the venue.
Amazing food and service. Coffee and Chai is the best in Surry Hills. Absolutely love this place! The labanne plate or dip board are winners for sure. So ridiculously yummy!
Stellar little place with great vegetarian and vegan options. Service was spot-on, prompt and very friendly. Falafel was 10/10 - well done. Yum!
Say no to the average bacon and eggs for brunch and say yes to Middle Eastern fare - think haloumi, falafel, hummus, shakshuka, malawach etc. Shenkin's extensive menu consists of many enticing dishes, which also still contains classics such as eggs benedict, omelettes and pancakes, will no doubt leave you confused with what to order.
After some deliberation, we settled with the chorizo shakshuka and the eggplant and haloumi one. The shakshuka pans arrive at the table filled to the top. The servings are very generous, with each accompanied by 2 homemade pita breads. The sauce is full of flavour, with chunks of capsicum, tomato and eggplant. I loved dipping the pita into the sauce and scooping out the vegetables.
Minor issues, which are just personal preference: the haloumi in the sauce would have been better, if they were grilled and just simply placed on top of the sauce. And the chorizo shakshuka consisted of pieces of chorizo slices, which I would have preferred if it was crumbled up chorizo sausage meat. Overall, the shakshukas are homely, great tasting and satisfying to eat; perfect for a lazy Sunday.
At $19 each, ($16.50 for original), the price is a little higher than some other places that serve shakshuka, with most hovering around the $16 to $17 mark. However, the servings are much more plentiful, so an extra couple dollars can be seen as not a big deal.
Great place for breakfast or lunch, with currently 4 locations to choose from.
Simply delicious! Shenkin's menu is like no other cafe- you'll find middle eastern inspired breakfast options. I had the avocado falafel with sourdough and mushrooms which was a winning combo! I never dreamt that 2 of my favourite foods, the avo and falafel, would come together and make a food porn baby! My partner ordered the banana pancakes which were nice and fluffy. Oh and you must try the ice coffee frappe, one of the best I've ever had.

For really good quality Israeli food, look no further than Shenkin. The dishes we had below for breakfast left an unforgettable memory of the venue and makes me want to return later. Yours truly @fooderarri
Brunch heaven. I had the Ziva - a filo encasing 3 cheeses and adorned with hummus, tahini, pickles, fresh tomato relish, and spiced coriander dipping sauce. Generous portions. Spicy and very flavoursome food. The coffee was exceptional too! I love the Shenkin brand.
STUNNING !! Walked into this café/restaurant simply looking for breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing friendly customer service, the girls working there were so nice and fast. The Cappuccinos were beautiful, rich and creamy, loving the quality!
And their shakshukas were also big, tasty and beautiful !
A must try!
Very good brunch place that serves Israel type of food. Also has commonly popular choices to choose from. Coffee has a strong charred flavour. Spacious inside to accommodate more than 10 tables and groups up to 10 people. Staffs are also very friendly. Will come back.
Lovely, little Middle Eastern cafe with a fresh and hipster vibe that doesn't seem pretensious.
Ordered the eggs Florentine and Shenkin Cafe's version of 'bacon and egg roll', which wasn't on the menu, and appreciated the staff for catering to the request.
Florentine dish was good (Hollandaise sauce was a bit bland, lacked a bit more seasoning and lemon). The bacon and egg roll was in fact a wrap with Israel laffa (flat bread?). I like it, but partner didn't. The bread was fluffy and so soft. Yum!
Staff were happy and friendly. Good breakfast options, mixture/fusion of Middle Eastern and western dishes. Coffee seem popular (did not order this time).
Would definitely come back to try other Middle Eastern dishes.
Can't even start to describe how delicious the food was!
So many different tasted in your mouth! The Tel aviv breakfast was incredible and the Shakshuka even more.
I think I just found the perfect place to eat !
Thank you !
Had heard about Skenkin on a reccomendation from a friend and put off going because I'm lazy (plus, I don't live in the city. And I always need a reason to go into the city). That was a mistake; I should listen to my friends more often. The Tel Aviv Breakfast was a treat, featuring a diverse cast of my favourite middle eastern flavours, in a cafè setting that was homey and warm without all the usual gaudy sensibilities of the city. The staff were pretty friendly too; they almost made me believe they weren't getting paid! I didn't get a chance to try the coffee unfortunately, so I'll leave that review to someone who has.
Had a really tasty breakfast here. Great menu with lots of interesting choices. I had the shakshuka with chorizo... great flavour. The coffee was good and service was efficient. I liked the laid back feel. Nice brunch spot.
