Great cocktails, friendly service and delicious food, one of my new favourite bar. If you can’t decide on a drink or food, just ask the staff for recommendations. We asked for recommendations and loved everything.
Kittyhawk helped arrange a private cocktail masterclass as a surprise present for my fiance. Everything from the get go made us feel so unique and special, like celebrities! Paris/bartender extrodinnaire was so fun and welcoming. He was excellent at pulling out our stories and memories to create flavours which typified them.
Needless to say the cocktails were incredible and we loved all the hints we were given. The cheese and charcuterie platters were to die for.
I would recommend this experience a hundred times over. I would do this again a hundred times over haha
Yums. Had to have the LEGO man in jelly!
As mentioned by some other reviewers- it’s pretty easy to miss but worth the effort. Nice cosy bar with friendly staff. Maybe read the menu here before hand as it’s hard to get to the nitty gritty or cocktails by candle light. Or maybe I’m just getting old.
Drinks are very unique and creative, service and ambience is also popping, would defo recommendo to anyone looking for a good cocktail bar in syd. Food was also decent!!
Great place for nibbles and drink. Comfortable lounge and great environment!
It gets very busy on Friday afternoon though. I will come back again.

The search is over!
We visited this establishment for a Saturday night catch up with my cousins. We were running a bit late (thanks to the government's M5 issue) however the staff were understanding and we still managed to take our table.
It was a bit squashy, 5 people sitting on two small round tables but honestly, we didn't pay that much attention to it. The atmosphere is set post WW2. The staff are dressed wonderfully vintage and are all very friendly.
The lights are dim but bright enough that you can see across the other side of the bar.
The food was spot on delicious and the cocktails, 100% perfect. I would say, they did lack the strength of the alcohol, so I am not sure if they weren't pouring as much that night..... but yet it was still a 'refreshing' drink.
This bar is tucked away from the hassle and bustle of the City CBD but once you step inside, it's all great.
Strongly recommend you visit this establishment if you are in the Sydney CBD. Can't wait come here again.
Kitty Hawk a hidden cocktail bar down toward Circular Quay. This joint has a classy layout and drinks list. The bar is long with a number of stools and a great spot to watch your drink being prepared, have a chat to the bar staff and enjoy a drink. The whisky list is quality and they do some cool stuff with their cocktails, like jelly lego figurines and divers. Enjoy some small bites with your drinks, a charcuterie plate or some cheese.
Cool bar with a great theme and atmosphere. The bar staff were friendly and suave, and they are quite entertaining when whipping together the cocktails.
It wasn’t too crowded (not too many people standing) when we went. However, if there were anymore patrons, the noise level would be awful. The music is quite loud for a bar, which makes conversation difficult. The lights are also really dim, so much so that we had to use our phone torches to read the menu.
Great inner city bar located in the business district. We popped into Kittyhawk on a Friday night while we were waiting for a table at Hubert. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a seat at the bar. It was dimly lit which added to the atmosphere and good background music so you could still chat with friends. The staff recommended the Sonic Watermelon cocktail that was delicious followed by the Polynesian Pearl Diver which was topped with a scuba diver plastic man. The place has a reasonable amount of seating with bar, tables and booth seating. I will definitely return to try the food menu.

Through some heavy doors in Sydney’s business district is a bar that recreates an era of liberation and celebration – post-war Paris. And the 900 spirits behind the 12-metre long bar is definitely reason to celebrate. In addition to the central bar space, this auditorium-sized watering hole also has an elegant restaurant and a front conservatory that’s soaked in city views.
By the team behind Lobo Plantation, it’s no surprise that The Kittyhawk is a military might, with plenty of winks to World War II (including a large painting of Kittyhawk fighter aircrafts embellishing the walls), a perfectly paired-back Parisian menu and cocktails that are pieces of art.
What I loved about The Kittyhawk when I first uncovered this place was that the barmen were all suave in black tie above the waist but a couple of glimpses revealed they had on Billabong board shorts below the waist (it was a hot night ok). The 1950s bathrooms are also pretty cute, in a very pink kind of way.
A little bit of a hidden gem this one. Tucked away beneath an office block in the heart of the city, Kittyhawk straddles the line between pub and wine bar with a good size dining area as well. It's dimly lit with most illumination coming from tea lights dotted around the venue which makes it the perfect place to while away a couple of hours on a rainy day.
Good selection of craft beers, cocktails and an extensive wine list make this joint well worth the search.
Super! I saw this bar in the rum and whisky bars for Sydney and thought I'd give it a whirl since I'd been to the Lobo Plantation a number of times. KittyHawk has great atmosphere set in WWII 1943 great range of drinks and you can find heaps of room at the bar or grab a spacious booth with table service which is what i chose with my two friends on my birthday 😆
The Nuclear Daiquiri was amazing i highly recommend it
Literally just stumbled across this joint on a stroll around the city and even though I've heard plenty about Kittyhawk, I didn't know this was where it was! I am damn glad I found this place though, coz it smoulders with sex appeal and their cocktails got plenty of swag! We tried the following cocktails:
- Rye Tai
- Uncle Sam Canoe Club
- Pebble Lane
- Pineapple Cobbler
All the drinks were impressive in taste and appearance. My favourite was the Uncle Sam Canoe Club, made with tequila, white Creme de Cacao, pear and walnut shrub and fresh lemon. It was smooth and refreshing with a kick of tart. This place is fantastic for date night or intimate groups of work friends after a long thirsty day.
Amazing! The customer service is highly attentive and super friendly and the space is intimate and sexy. If you can book then do so because this place is very popular with the local corporates and city folk. The food is French inspired and I highly recommend the beef tartare.
Don't be fooled by the dull grey blue facade of Kittyhawk, once you step in, you are transported to a dimly lit post-WWII bar. The seating in the conservatory is fabulous.
We had a number of cocktails here, the polynesian pearl diver, the nuclear daiquirye, berries 3 ways and the chest candy cobbler. The cocktails are smooth and well balanced and the little touches such as the edible lego man on the berries 3 ways is quite charming.
It wasn't too loud and busy either so it was still good for a chat and the bartenders are very attentive!
Located right below a huge office building so as expected a lot of professionals around. Low lighting, wooden furnishing everywhere, and very loud as it gets quite busy.
Bunch of cocktails you can choose from, it’s quite a wide selection. Tommy Hellfire was really, really sour. Spiciness was ok but sourness was too overpowering and everything died in comparison.
Most of the food on the menu were like pub eats, chips, roasts etc. Pie was kind of small but it tasted great. Had a complex flavour, different to the usual basic pies you can get from anywhere. Thus it was pretty pricey for a pie, especially given the size, but then again it’s somewhat expected from a place like this. The chips were amazing. Cooked in truffle oil with parmesan and sage.
Went to Kittyhawk for a quick drink and some nibbles. The quality of the drinks were excellent as were the tasting plates. The service was very quick although we did notice that a number of tables around us had to wait for their food while ours came out very quickly.
The biggest drawback was how loud the place is, very hard to have a conversation without speaking loudly which only adds to the volume of noise!

What feels like stepping back into the era post World War 2 in Paris? Kittyhawk. This beautifully themed bar is the second endeavour from the crew behind Lobo Plantation - and it does not disappoint. Perfectly decorated, with ample space for sitting at the bar, a booth, a table or standing - Kittyhawk caters to all occasions. Countess and Duchess were instantly charmed by Kittyhawk and its feel good vibe.
KittyHawk is the 2nd Bar from the Lobo Plantation team and the venue is an impressive reworking of the old bull bear and bondy’s venue into something akin to Lobo 2.0. It is however a tad more masculine, dimmer and quite the cocktail bar with one of the longest bar counters in Sydney. The makeover is rather startling taking what was previously a generi white tiled gastropub fitout into a luxe war bunker with touches of colonial mix. Around the venue, dark chesterfield booths that easily sits 6-8, and on the street side banquettes and operable windows that will open up in the warmer months. The design language is not dissimilar to Lobo. Lights low, cocktails shakers jangling, you’re in for a goodtime.
We were here last weekend for a friend's birthday . There were about 20 of us . We were accommodated towards one side which was great since we had a cozy nook for our party . The decor is lovely . It has a chic 1940s theme and groove going on ! The waitresses are cutely dressed . The menu is very elaborate . But I was a bit disappointed with the cocktails. On the contrary most others seemed happy with theirs ! So they're definitely doing something right !
The other portion of KittyHawk has these awesome seating booths ! It looks great.
This place is a bit on the pricey side . But it's worth it for a fun night out!
So there you go ! Beautiful ambience , great service and a great night ❤️

Looking every inch the perfect bomber pinup girl, our vivacious waitress is a dab hand at matching cocktails to drinkers. Her glossy black hair is pulled into the nape of her neck in an elegant chignon. The hairstyle, which hit peak popularity in the 1940s when women wore chignons under headscarves to work in factories supporting the war effort, is thematically appropriate. And the theme - in case the US fighter airplane name, or the wartime posters and memorabilia lining the walls haven’t clued you in - is 1940s with a touch of French resistance thrown in.Laid out like the Kittyhawk IV Airplane’s manual, the combined food and drinks menu is a weighty tome. However if you don’t feel like investing some time in reading, you can always leave yourself in the capable hands of the lady with the lapel pins...I was feeling pretty pleased with my self-selected U.S.C.C. (Uncle Sam’s Canoe Club) ($19) – a smooth yet smoky blend of tequila, white Crème de Cacao, pear and walnut shrub and lemon – until she topped it with the Rye Gram ($19). From the manual’s schematics, it’s a blend of...
Kittyhawk is a well-executed time portal allowing reach of the Battle of Paris in 1944. The interiors are chic and sophisticated, and too easily take you a time not experienced in this life. The menu is crafted to read like a manual of fighter jet; sepia toned pages complete with construction drawings of cocktails and food available. For those unfamiliar to some, they also offer tasting notes to help you decide if bar staff aren’t handy to chat. Detail is king here, and if you’re looking close enough under the soft lighting, you will spot tiny jet planes littered around the small corners of the bar. Staff also sporting the same iconic badge.
Even if not your usual preference, I highly recommend the ‘Rum & Rye’ - unsurprisingly placed at the top of the drinks menu, for good reason. This is incredibly smooth and without a doubt the best of its kind I've experienced in Sydney.
The food is also quite good. Portions here would deem these more like bar snacks than a standard meal, yet share plates and gold cutlery accompanying eliminate this perception. The Mussel vol au Vent is crisp and light, with a beautiful creamy center, with the ratatouille cigars maintaining the same structure sans cream. What presents with it as a basic tomato sauce is in fact a sweet, complex red pepper concoction perfect for dipping. Beef tartare is another strong option and happy accepted without any need for extras. An additional tostada would have however been welcomed here. Sadly, the potato chips were lacking crisp & crunch although the parmesan truffle and thyme went well without any overkill flavour wise, albeit still an intense flavour as one would expect. Sadly, the charcuterie board was a letdown as the cheese was more or less average, I feel this will make or break a board. The cured meats, thinly sliced terrine and marmalade-like relish however were divine.
Despite impressions, the staff are warm and unpretentious and hold simple desire for mass enjoyment from their revellers. Service speed on our food was rather impressive, although they were quick to admit it was a quiet night. Bites are also available late, with staff still accepting kitchen orders beyond 11pm. There’s a string of different spaces in this overly cosy bar. Large leather booths on an elevated platform come with table service, bar seating offers immediate action, or retreat can be taken in a hidden corner with small tables for two and beyond if you feel the need to hide away.
Super cool venue which surprisingly doesn't require too much of a line up. Obviously not on the cheap side which is a reflection of its status in the bar scene
Atmosphere and food were amazing. Shout out to James who looked after our table for the night, you were brilliant. Definitely coming back!
We are in love with the place! Delicious food and cocktails, good vibe and service. Not much to fault for our first time here.
The cocktails are smooth and balanced. We had the old fashioned and the monet’a garden. Happy hour was also cheap, beer is cold :)
For food, My favourite was the burrata - fresh and a good palette cleanser, and the steak tartare- tangy, spicy and rich. The chips that came with the tartare were a bit burnt and papery, but the frites were perfect.
I am not a fan of whiskey but the cocktails whipped up with them have changed my stance! Everything we ordered could of been priced a few bucks more as it was quality. The tartare was the stand out dish. The oysters were the best value as it was happy hour!
Went for drinks after work on Friday. Happy hour is 4-6pm so was packed when I arrived just before 6 and I couldn’t be seated. Then people started to leave as happy hour ended and I was able to get a seat. Food is lovely. We ordered the 3 meat and 3 cheese platter (chefs selection) which seemed to be the cheapest out of the choices which was a bit disappointing. The meat platter came with a awesome wasabi mustard and it was a nice addition. We also ordered the burrata which was amazing!
Bar service for drinks is a little slow, but they are also crafting cocktails which takes a bit but it wasn’t that busy at some points and I was still waiting quite a bit to be served. The bar staff were friendly and great at suggesting options. Recommend for after work drinks/food. Good location with a prohibition style decor.
This was by far one of the best selection of cheeses I have had on a cheeseboard. I highly recommend ordering the chefs 3 cheese selection. Their house Pinot Grigio was the perfect wine pairing for this cheeseboard. I also recommend trying their Monet’s Garden cocktail. The staff are friendly and attentive. I would advise making a booking. It’s a great date night venue. Overall, cozy ambience and great tunes playing in the background.
Amazing food, great ambiance and best service of all time by wait staff Helen! She made our experience here exceptional We will definitely be visiting kittyhawk again in the future x
Bonjour bad boy, arrived to meet this french loaded fries aka lobster frites butter sauce. It was the highlight of my night, along with trying caviar for the first time.
Kittyhawk is one of the coolest bars I have been to in Sydney! The menu is insane, with a huge variety of whiskeys available, with amazing cocktails. I recently hosted a birthday there, and the food was brilliant too!
The staff are all amazing, but in particular Paris who is not only an amazing cocktail maker but super friendly and sociable. If you are either looking for somewhere for a nice meal with brilliant drinks, or looking to host an event, I could not recommend Kittyhawk enough. You certainly won't regret it!
