Review Stanton & Co - Sydney

Alisa Gulapa
We ordered the $100 tasting menu and it was literally perfection. Flavour combinations were on point, presentation was next level. Absolutely loved everything we were served. Standouts were the flank steak, truffle mash, oysters, chicken liver parfait, and beef tartare. Staff were also great. Would 100% come here again!

Great place. The tasting menu is well crafted with some Japanese twists. Definitely worth the $80 and I couldn't help giving tips. The parfait was so smooth. The truffled mash actually stole the show from the main dish.

Came on a SAT night with the 50% off offer on full tasting menu. Food was exquisite and nicely presented. Highlight was the burrata cheese starter, the steak and the dessert platter. Service was friendly and efficient. Booking required, with two seating times (630 and 830pm).Will definitely come back!

Delicious food, friendly service, great setting and decor, and kid friendly too with pencils and colouring stencils. The food was cooked well and super tasty. Even the kids meals were delicious. Came on a Tuesday night and got the $40 for two deal which included the 1.2kg pork knuckle and sides of carrots, truffle mash and Brussel sprouts.

The food is spectacular ! Every single dish is beautiful and so tasty. You can see that they use good quality products. Cocktails are delicious as well! Service was very professional and friendly. Atmosphere is really nice. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back !!! All share plates were amazing but I would say that the mash potato, the pork, the beef and the burrata are must try ! We had the salted caramel ice cream for desert, omg ! That’s a WINNER!!! You must try this desert! The price was reasonable for the quality. Not cheap but totally worth it.

Great restaurant with a nice sharing menu, the service was friendly and the food was fantastic. My son decided he likes using a high chair now so upon arriving we asked the waiter if we could use one and he kindly put us at a table which had the space to accommodate us 3 so the night started off well. The area is very cozy and the tables are spaced generously enough to not feel cramped and boxed in. We were recommended to have 2 starting plates and a main plus sides to share so we went with that. The entrees we chose were the school prawn chips (delicious) as well as a tempura-like kale chip (surprisingly delicious) paired with a cocktail each (Cannery canary yum!). For the main we shared the pork knuckle which came out beautifully presented with a luscious seeded mustard sauce that you couldn't help run your finger through continuously (note only do this with family!!) with a perfectly crisp skin. The sides chosen were the truffled infused mash and bbq'd corn - both excellent. I have no issues recommending this place. Some mixed reviews on the page so read through them but for a table of 2 (+ child) we had no problems.

Wow. Just wow. If you don't know about Stanton and Co., you should. Their food is exceptional, the cocktail list has been masterfully crafted and the waitstaff know their stuff. Every dish I have had there is exceptional, whether from the smalls, mediums, bigs or desserts menu (I've tried a good 15-20 dishes from the menu thus far) - even their fries with smoky sauce are awesome. However, if I need to pick a dish to definitely add to your table, then their signature kingfish sashimi is a must-have and it is the one that has won the awards. Just go there, order, and be blown away. It is impossible to be disappointed.

Stanton & Co is a stunning new venue in a revived warehouse in The Cannery, Rosebery. The space has an industrial feel to it, and the team of designers took inspiration from New York’s Meatpacking District. You certainly get that vibe with its exposed brick walls and pipes, velvet chairs and deep cedar tables. It’s a huge space and can seat 240 guests, so it’s also perfect for an event. There’s a large bar, open kitchen and outdoor space to enjoy your dining experience. The night kicked off with cocktails, wine and beer from Frenchies out in the spacious bar outside on the balcony of Stanton and Co. The ‘Bramberry cocktail’ with Roku Gin, yuzu juice and blackberries is a must try - very refreshing and a nice accompaniment to the food. As we were at the first birthday, it was appropriate to to have a variety of party style food that could be shared canape style. We tried some beautiful oysters; both smoky and soy on arrival as well as the spanner crab mini taco, served with avocado and tobiko was super cute and a great little dish to share’. We sat down and were kindly greeted by the staff who served drinks and started to bring out entrees. We shared a variety of small plates including the highlight - some deliciously crispy Jamon mozzarella croquettes with aioli. We’re always fans of Salmon ceviche and the Stanton and Co. version was great, served with creme fraiche and potato crisps, this was a great starter. We can also thoroughly recommend the creamy Burrata, green tomato and salsa verde. If you plan to visit, it’s great for a dinner date or a group catch because you can share with small, medium, or large plates. In particular, from the large plates, they have a twice-cooked chicken, slow cooked lamb shoulder, 800g dry aged T-bone, or what we tried: the absolutely incredible 1.2k pork knuckle. This was incredible. A moist inside, crispy crackle, served with seeded mustard. If you’re ordering a meat to share, be sure to order some sides too - some charred seasonal vegetables, fried kipfler potatoes with spiced rosemary butter, shoestring fries and house mayo or like on our visit we had a super flavoursome and creamy truffled mash. Another highlight of the menu. For our dessert, we were grateful to try the butterscotch mousse with cherries and banana ice cream. This was super nice and certainly would pair well with a dessert liquor. You can also order a number of other desserts, including chilled pineapple parfait, chocolate crumble, cheese plate or affogato. There’s even a dessert plate you can share.

We came here for the tasting menu and were pleasantly surprised with the dishes. The oysters were delicious, juice and fresh. All the dishes were very aesthetic and tasted great. I just wish there were more seafood dishes.

Stanton & Co is one of the restaurants in The Parlour Group and is located on the top floor of The Cannery in Rosebery. The fit out has an industrial feel about it with exposed brick, dark oak, open kitchen and a cracking well stocked bar.

The food is designed to share and it’s modern Australian meets Japanese with some Spanish flavours. The signature dish is the 1.2k Pork Knuckle (pictured) and it didn’t disappoint. It was perfectly cooked: the meat was tender and the crackling was crisp. It was served with a pickled apple and a soy seeded sauce which was rather addictive.

The waiting staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I’ll definitely be back to try some other dishes. #stantonandco

This place is amazing from the service, wine food all the way till you pay your bill, my partner and I had the oysters and kingfish sashimi for entree and the oysters were so good we had to order more ! Then we shared the pork knuckle as a main with charred greens which, the oysters were from Pambula, had a lovely truffle soy vinegar, the sashimi was best I ever had and the pork knuckle was perfect ! The crackling was so crispy and the fat just melted in your mouth, the charred vegetables were a perfect match. Thanks guys will be back :)
The Next Rush
Founded in 2011, Parlour Group draws inspiration from the finer aspects of the North American spirit to provide Australians with premium hospitality experiences in four convenient Sydney-wide locations. The Flying Squirrel, a small 50 seat tapas bar, was the first venue opened by Brody Petersen – owner of Parlour Group. This was quickly followed by The Stuffed Beaver Dining Parlour in 2012, a 50 seat Canadian style sports bar (both no longer in the portfolio).

A pleasant dining experience and very attentive staff and probably the most generous attitude we’ve ever experienced. To make a short story shorter, the oysters were amazing - the smoked truffle touch was delightful. The pork knuckle had great crackling but the meat itself and the accompaniments were pass.

The pasta was a big let down. It just wasn’t right but hey we told the staff, they took it off our bill and threw in a dessert on top for free. I don’t wanna say the dessert didn’t taste all the sweeter but it was genuinely a strong combo of sour cherry, cream, meringue and “beetroot” sponge (hazy memory) - it just worked.

Maybe we won’t be back soon but we will be back.
Located in a completely refurbished warehouse space on level 1 of The Cannery, Rosebery, is the warm and inviting Stanton & Co. We were lucky enough to join Stanton & Co to celebrate the establishments 1st birthday and launch of their new menu. It was a night filled with great food and delicious cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere.

It’s been a while since I’ve went and I’m only writing this review now because I’m thinking of going back. Stanton & Co is situated in The Cannery, surrounded by other thriving cafes, restaurants, and shops. Location is great and convenient to get to with parking. If you come for brunch on a Sunday, be sure to check out the other shops. The restaurant had a very warm ambience and a beautiful bar. The food was lovely and beautifully presented, and staff were also super friendly. I wasn’t a huge fan of the dessert but that’s just personal preference.

Snapshots Of Food
Stanton & Co. is located on the first floor in The Cannery, Rosebery. We're foreign to Rosebery and had no idea a hidden gem like The Cannery existed. We were invited to celebrate Stanton & Co's first birthday and a new Modern Australian menu launch. Stanton & Co. is the latest venue from Parlour Group. We sampled a couple dishes from their new menu and our thoughts are provided below. Before we get started, the mission statement shared on the evening really connected with us. "To provide the most memorable unique dining experience to all guests"

Went there for the $100 Tasting menu, it was well crafted with beautiful presentation. The dishes were creative with a Japanese twist. 🙂

The dishes were created with fresh & fine ingredients. Loved the freshness of the oysters, which were drizzled with a beautiful truffle dressing with a smoky note to it. Both salmon sashimi & beef tartare were very fresh. Moreton bay bug tempura could have been better if more seasoning was added. It was bland, I had to heavily dip it in ponzu mayo to enhance the flavour. 😗 Wagyu flank steak was a let down, since it’s the least expensive cuts, it was tough & chewy even it was cooked to medium rare, however I loved the charred & beefy flavour in the beef. 😌

Nice atmosphere & friendly service. A great place for a date. 🙂

Every dish was on point! Though the Kim chi beef tartare didn’t really taste like Kim chi, it was still really good! The Wagyu flank was sooo juicy too!

The customer service wasn’t great, but the food was decent. Be prepared to fork out a bit of money if you want bigger portions. The meals are designed to share, which is great but you have to purchase seperate sides for everything that you order.

The food was excellent and very filling, we had the $85 banquet tasting menu to share.
Our waiters and bar manager went above and beyond.
The only criticism is the music, it was extremely loud, all over the shop from chill out to rap and we felt it spoilt the ambience of the place (it just seemed the music was for the staff and not the patrons).
We had the $85 set menu. The good was really tasty. My favorites were the salmon taco (really loved the taco shell itself), the kingfish sashimi and the beef capparcio. The lamb shoulder was so so tender and all the tendenous regions were melt in the mouth. Some dishes were a little salty for us but overall a good experience.

The service is where I felt it could have improved. The wait staff were all friendly and helpful but there were many mistakes. The fish tacos were for another table (of 4) but they brought it to our table (we had 2 people). We didn't know because it's our first time and thought it's 4 pieces altogether. We started eating, then the waiter told us they made a mistake and took the plate away. Then they brought us an edamame dish which we didn't think were in the set menu, but we weren't sure and ate anyway but it was supposed to be for another table. We were told the salted caramel icecream wasn't set and was given a different dessert. Finally, when we booked, the Dimmi condition was that we had to vacate the table by 8:30 (for a 6:30 booking) but because the dishes came very slowly, we hadn't had our mains yet. We didn't finish our meal and leave until 10pm.

The funny thing is, despite all this, because the food was delicious, we didn't mind. However, it would be great if they had this delicious food minus the hiccups so we could enjoy our meal and then head to our after dinner plans. Maybe we'll just order individual items from the menu next time.

Tip: there is free parking inside the complex after 6pm.

Frugal foodie tip: the $85 set menu was part of a 50% off restaurant month promotion on Dimmi. Definitely worth it!

Had the special tasting menu which was such a great experience. Delicious food that was well balanced. The waiter helped pair a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was superb. Service was friendly and genuine. Would go back and highly recommend!

Had the degustation for lunch. It was exceptional value, good serving sizes and presented nicely. I really enjoyed the meal except I started feel really sick half way for some reason and shame cos I couldn't eat anymore. My friend was fine. And continued to enjoy her meal. Service was accommodating and efficient. The oysters and burrata dishes were my favorite.
Missklicious
Stanton and Co is a modern Australian restaurant located in the refurbished warehouse of The Cannery in Rosebery. It's an expansive venue with an open kitchen, dining room and bar area. It's the perfect space for a group Christmas get together. . It's slightly inconvenient to get here by public transport from the CBD after work, but there's plenty of parking so it's great for those who are driving.

Hidden gem located in Cannery centre in Roseberry, was slightly difficult to find the location, however we got there in the end.
Have been wanting to try this place a couple weeks before initial opening date after having an amazing time at sister restaurant “Riley street garage”
The menu was very very similar to Riley street, food has great flavour and all worked amazingly well together.
Great food, friendly staff, good wine. We went for opening night and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was so good that we booked our engagement party there!
