A visit to the Shamiana Indian Restaurant is part of my near-weekly pilgrimage for Indian food with my son. Warm friendly atmosphere with good personal service and wonderful, freshly cooked food. Very good value and consistently good. My regular!

This is by far our favourite Indian restaurant. It is on the other side of the bridge from the main Narrabeen shop strip, so not super busy - most people wouldn't notice it as they drive by. If located in a busier spot it would always be packed out as the food is amazing! We've eaten there a number of times and it has always been top notch. The only problem is trying to choose from the menu - so many great options! Highly recommended.

You know the old saying - ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ - well, don’t judge Shamiana by its decor or outhouse (loo) either. To be honest we were a bit apprehensive when we opened the door because it doesn’t appeal to the visual sensors. But the food and service were fantastic. Every dish was a delight, down to the naan breads, condiments and rice. We were a table of eight. Everyone was happy. Very happy. 🌺

Shamiana is such a nice place! The food is fantastic, and the staff are lovely. Don't be put off by the exterior, inside is welcoming, fragrant and comfortable. For spicy, the chicken chetinad is great.

The food was delicious and outstanding balance of spices. Good size of serves. Good variety. Good proximity to Narrabeen Lagoon. Good proximity to Narrabeen shopping. It is on a busy road. Close to transport. I would recommend it. #coddiwompleicp

We moved 4 beaches away and still order from here. We only order from here for Indian and my partner is Australian Indian. This place is incredible!!!! Fresh to order - admittedly we order the same thing every time but order it and you'll see why. Chicken Chetinhad (spelling) and Palak Paneer (& 3 garlic naans) The spinach is incredible, you know they use a incredible amounts of fresh and expensive ingredients. These guys are rarely busy... go make them busy and hopefully the quality will remain. Thanks to the family who run this - be proud - the best Indian food we have had (including India!)

From Adelaide and while in Sydney a couple of years ago I dined here, and had the most amazing Goan curry. Made a note to return, and half a year later I returned - the owner Winifred remembered me, was very friendly. I cannot recommend the Goan curry highly enough!!

Great local Indian. Will definately be coming back. Recommend trying the naan bread it's beautiful hot out of the oven. If you want it spicy make sure you tell them as it's not too hot.
