My friend recommended here for lunch. It is very busy with students back in Uni. I actually bumped into him during lunch there too. The hunger set me up for a Mezze Plate. The grilled and pickled veg are very good, especially liked the eggplant infused with flavor and cooked to tenderness. The cold meat in contrast was not playing that well with warm veg imo. It was a lot of food but also a lot of $. Xihuahua 🐶 have you tried this place?
absolutely love this place! the bagels are delicious, all home-made and made with love, but my absolute favourite is the 'Special' Turkish Toastie. it is my favourite toastie ever with all my favourite ingredients and always makes me feel warm. the staff are so lovely and the cafe itself is very quaint and comfortable. i love coming here for a warming meal or nice snack as it feels very home-y. will be back soon :)
The lentil stew here pretty much changed my life. Now, I see a lot of positive reviews get interpreted as absolute guarantees of other peoples' enjoyment, inevitably ending in backlash where some jerk whines about how they did not have their minds sufficiently blown and therefore all positive reviews are a lie, so I want to clarify here: it might not change your life, and there might be better lentil stews out there, but I, personally, have had my life changed by this one. It is a hit of deliciousness, nutrition and warmth that comes at a very decent price from very friendly people. As far as attempts to get your 5 fruit and veg, salad has nothing on this stuff. Hell, I don't know if I've had a single other meal that manages to lift my mood as consistently as this one. I don't think I've gone three days without ordering one, if I am perfectly honest. I recommend everyone try it at least once!
Cafe Ella is a quaint neighbourhood cafe with a homely atmosphere and welcoming staff. Their pastries are delicious. It's clearly a favourite spot for locals and a tranquil haven.

I had heard a lot about Cafe Ella over the years - little did I know I was walking past it every week and didn't see it! It's a quaint and nice little cafe that makes great bagels and has a nice and cosy ambience to it. The people were lovely and the blueberry bagel with ricotta and jam was delicious (not your classic blueberry bagel as the blueberries were on top rather than mixed in!). I also tried the 'Special' Turkish Toasties which was AMAZING. Oddly out of everything I loved the hot chocolate - only $4 for a decently sized cup that would normally be $5 or over anywhere else and they have the cutest colourful marshmallows that transport me back to childhood. Will definitely return regularly seeing as though it's in my convenience!
Very friendly and casual local spot for lunch. The quiche and salad was delicious and great value for less than $10. I'll definitely come again.
Came here today for a small get together with a friend. The staff were very nice and the whole atmosphere of the cafe was really cute and small. Had the brekkie bagel and the iced tea. Bagel came in a huge serving which is really nice and came with a side salad. The iced tea was also really good. The price is decent and is located in a really convenient place. Would come back again!
Cafe Ella have a very unique atmosphere - it's not pretentious. The chai tea is perfect made with fresh spices & ginger including the healthy bagels - my favourite is poppyseed bagel with ricotta & handmade jam. Don't judge a book by the cover - it's Cafe Ella! I love overlooking the courtyard when enjoying my hot chai tea especially on a cold day. The staff are very efficient & friendly😄👍
Good value for money, fresh ingredients. Loved the big brekkie! So wonderfully hearty and delicious! The Nerds zombie brain milkshake was wonderful, I really enjoyed the clever combination of chocolate with the raspberry "brains"! Have tried some of the pasta and chicken & avocado salad on separate occasions but wasn't "wow"-ed. Super close proximity to USYD as well, which is a bonus.
EDIT: went back and tried the poached eggs, toast and salad. And the salmon bagel. Both were very fresh and delicious. Just wish the items were the tiniest bit cheaper considering its close proximity to uni
