Very good range of restaurants located just behind Circular Quay Like Chat Thai and Four Frogs Crêperie but all good places to visit

Great place, next to circular quay,(pronounced circular key) The Sydney Harbour ferry wharf and railway station by the same name. Many places to eat, and drink. . Museums, right there MCA ( museum of contemporary art) Old customs house (Port authority museum) not as good and The museum of justice and police museum. Not open that day. Only weekends. View from the M.C.A

I love Sydney. One of the best cities in the world. I am privileged.

Large food court at the base of the Gateway office tower. There’s a variety of food offerings starting at ground level with takeaway style places, then becoming more formal as you move up to levels 1 & 2. Conveniently located right next to Circular Quay ferry and train station you’ll find somewhere to eat no matter what your taste. is.

Good food, great service!

Very clean and lots of yummy foods

A nice variety of quality restaurants The food court is a bit hidden but surprisingly is pretty good in terms of range of foods, especially when you have a group with diverse tastes

The flavour in the American burger were a little bit odd, maybe that’s the mayo? But otherwise it tasted good and the bun was nice. The beef patty is tender and pink and quite juicy which I wasn’t expecting. Not amazing but better than you’re average fast food burger. The home made tea was way too sugary.

Cheese burger and beer was such a good deal for me when undecided what to have for quick bite.
Love the beef patty quality, soft pillow milk bun, melted cheese and pickle condiment and binded nicely with house special sauce.
To washed down that greasiness cold pale ale was a perfect pair for me.

Slow service, especially for a burger restaurant and average food.

Spent a while waiting for our food, for a group of four that ordered almost together, there was a big gap between when the first and last person got their food.

The shake, the chicken bites and the chips are good. The burger is ok, despite a generous sized beef patty, the rest of the burger is pretty standard. Almost a glorified quarter pounder.

It was a day of disappointing meals.
We had the Chicken burger, American burger, chicken bites and a large helping of fries.

The CB was rather dry. Not moist at all. I acknowledge that it did say chicken breast but it felt like dining on cardboard.

The American was just as disappointing- they might as well just had gone down to McDonalds and bring back their cheeseburger 🍔, cause that’s what it tasted like. Nothing wrong with McDs cheeseburger but I expected more given the price we paid.

The chicken bites were decent enough. Batter was
Crispy but my problem is it’s was super oily. Kid’s napkins were all soaks post meal. Maybe leave it to drain before serving customers?

🍟 was acceptable.

Should have given this app a scan before stepping inside. Darn... and to think I had a chance to have the Thai next door.

I had a craving for classic American style burgers & Burger Project popped in mind. Conveniently located opposite Circular Quay station, it is a large space with plenty of seating. I still don't understand/taste the difference between the cheeseburger and American burger. On this occasion we ordered 6 burgers and it would have been helpful to have a note/name of the burger on the paper to indicate what is what. The only one we can identify was the chicken burger which was juicy and tasty. The beef burgers were good & meat is good quality but overly salty for my liking. Chicken bites were way over cooked and too hard. I went back to order drinks and as I had already ordered food the staff told me that she has to serve customers first before me. Am I not a customer if I have already ordered food? Personally I don't know what the big deal is with the shakes. Overall everything was decent.

Had chicken Cheese burger and was not disppointed!
The flavours went well in the burger while the sauces inside made it real good.
The bread was soft and the chicken fresh, fries were salty and crispy!
Indeed a good joint!

Love their burgers, especially the Aussie and the Classic. The American is great, but the sauce does taste very much like Mecca’s.

I like their beef patty, it’s very juicy and good texture.

I can’t say the same for the house-made drinks, like the iced tea and the ginger beer.... just stick with bottles or cans.

I may have been too harsh on my last review of Burger Project because they do have some of the better beef patties in Sydney. It still seemed chewier than my last visit years ago but that might be due to cooking them medium instead of the wonderful medium rare that it used to be. The bun also seemed much less weak and sugary than before. The sauce and veges in the basic burgers don’t really create an intense flavour like some but it was still a good well-rounded burger and cheaper than many of the trendy places.

I could see why this burger project has less positive reviews. I used to go to the one in MLC. The chicken katsu burger there was very succulent and delicious. I tried the one here at gateway, the meat looks much thinner than what I used to have at MLC. $20 for a burger a drink and a small serve of chips. Prob won’t return anymore.

Burgers tasted great but was a bit on the greasy/oily side. Was quite pricey, due to prime location. Avoid going in peak hour lunchtime as many corporates choose this place.
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Located upstairs, the Burger Project has views across Circular Quay which is currently looking like a construction site. Had a strawberry shake and although it was nice, it was disappointingly small for $7.90.

My guess is if your a beef eater, you will like the place but if you are a chicken eater (2 choices, the other choice had chilli) or Vege eater (mushroom burger) it's tough. Others like the mushroom burger but I didn't think much of it,I liked how the outside is crumbed but the inside the mushroom is juicy, not for me. My missus liked her beef burger but like myself it's expensive for what you get. The thick shake I liked though
Xlittlecupcake
Gave the burger project another shot for the first time in years. Unfortunately the burger I got was average at best (I didn’t take a photo) - was expecting the mushroom 🍄 and beef to be juicier 😫

We went to burger project for a cheeky burger before heading for a show at the opera house - unfortunately for me I got food poisoning the day after :( We ordered the spicy chicken katsu and a vegetarian burger, with large fries and a passionfruit soda. I enjoyed the chips over which we got a chipotle chilli salt, and a chipotle mayp, and the soda was yummy too. The vegetarian burger was a let down with too much bun and barely any fillings, while the chicken burger was far too oily! The chicken piece was very large, and there were bits of cartilage making the experience annoying. It was when I saw a pink spot that I stopped eating it all together. The chilli sauce was spread unevenly, and to me the burger was just chicken, and then a touch of bread. Normally I'm quite happy to eat burgers from burger project, and normally my experience is pleasant - I really hope this was an anomaly.

I love Burger Project burgers. The Cape Grim beef cooked medium pink in the middle is the best part. Good quality meat makes for good quality burgers. I’ve had Burger Project before, but what moves me to write this review is the Korean burger that they’ve come up with lately to coincide with the Winter Olympics. They didn’t skimp on the authentic tasting kimchi and the gochujang mayo had the right kind of tang. I hope they keep it on the menu for good.

A little bit of a let down due to the lack of accomodation to vegans/vegetarians. We ordered a large fries (extra $2 for the chipotle mayo), double burger and chocolate shake. The only fault was minimal sauce on the burger, and unfortunately the thick shake tasted like PURE chocolate syrup! I didn't end up finishing it, and felt quite sick afterwards.
Almost $40 for the meal all up, and the meal did not live up to the cost.

As it was with the world sq n macq cent outlet, i went with american cheese w double patty. Glad to say quality is pretty consistent. Patty was done medium well, bit more than i’d like. I aint gonna repeat myself here, read my rev for bp at macquarie centre. Have they crept up in price? Not too sure but $4 for an extra patty when the small burg is $10.50?

Nice location near Circular Quay, very friendly staff, and decent food.

Burgers aren't stellar, but they taste how you'd expect, and are a decent enough price. Chips are nice and tasty, and the milkshake was amazing.

If you're a burger fan, it's certainly worth a try, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit
The Sydney Tram
This new Burger Project is located inside Gateway Circular Quay. With minimalistic interior design, the place gives out a clean and modern vibes.

As I walked up to front counter to order my burger, I was greeted by a young lad (in her pink-purple-ish hair colour) with a stare. She automatically held the buzzer on her hand, and was ready to hand it to me. Without looking at me, she asked "chips? Drinks?". I said just a large chip PLEASE. She bluntly asked "ok so no drink then?", then looked away, annoyed by me (?!). Paid for my meal, walked to my table with a buzzer in my hand , thinking damn, how can a person with such attitude even works in hospitality!

When the buzzer rang, came to pick up my lunch, she handed me a tray, and looked inside the kitchen "Here. Enjoy!". Was she speaking to me? Heck!

But I will be fair with my food verdict: cheese and bacon burger was good; the chicken katsu burger however was a little dry. Chips on the other hand, were extremely salty. Paid $6 for it just to threw it away after first few bites. Not worth my money.

Overall, do you think I should come back? NO. Even I witnessed other staff members being nice to customers, I can't deal with the inconsistency of customer service. You don't have to go an extra mile, but at least be nice to people in general.

The girl who served me was quite rude but food was alright. Could have done with more sauce on my burger. Would recommend to friends for a drunken feed out but not for a nice meal.
Knife Fork N Chopsticks
The thing I like about this place is it's always consistent in taste and service, no matter which store you go to. Everything comes out looking the same, and you know what to expect.

I've tried their classic, American cheese, Aussie, and Magic Mushroom from other stores, and this time I ordered two cheese and bacon burgers, along with large fries with special dip, and a strawberry milkshake.

The cheese and bacon looked a bit similar to the classic, but with cheese and bacon. The milk buns are slightly sweet, in a good way, and very soft and squishy, which makes it easier to get a bit of everything in one bite. The bacon was a little over cooked, making it a bit hard and I had to rip it with my teeth to break it off. The cheese was nicely melted into the burger, but the beef patty was just a bit over medium, although not as overcooked as the bacon, it was just a bit burnt on the outside and a little bit too dry in the centre. The sauce was great though, it wasn't too over powering but there was definitely plenty of it, and the burger as a whole was still pretty good, and what I expected.

The chips were a little dry, like they'd been cooked a bit early and then left under the heat lamps. The special dip was so good, I hardly noticed my fries were dry once I ate it with the dip. The sour cream melts in your mouth and it's on the creamier side, which I love, and the bacon and chives add a beautiful, slightly smokey flavour to it. I also had some tomato sauce on the side for my fries, but it was nowhere as good as eating it with the dip.

I keep getting told I have to try one of their milkshakes here and I finally caved and ordered the strawberry milkshake, but for me personally, it wasn't anything special, and I was a little disappointed as I had high expectations after being recommend by so many people. The milkshake looked promising, and when I used the straw to mix it a bit, it was nice and thick and looked creamy. However, it tasted very artificially sweet, like they'd used too much strawberry syrup, and although it had looked thick and creamy, I discovered it was mostly foam and didn't taste creamy at all. (It came in a plastic cup with the word "Burger" on it, would have made more sense to have "Milkshake" on it.)

Service here is fast and efficient, although they forgot our special dip and I had to go back and ask them for it. I paid about $38 for my meal for two, so it's a little more expensive than your usual fast food, even though it sells itself as "fast food with slow food values", but the quality of the burgers are definitely fresh and worth the sleep ghtly higher than fast food price.

TIP: I found myself, surprisingly, very very thirsty afterwards, but none of the food tasted overly salty to me, so I'm not too sure why, but definitely get a drink with your meal, to help wash it all down.

Burgers are super fresh and delicious! Would definitely go back and recommend to friends for sure. Would be great to have this in NZ! 10/10!

Can't go wrong with Cheese and Bacon burger.

Best burger I've ever had In Sydney. It's not sloppy and not dry. Patty was done perfectly with the right amount of sauce and lettuce.

Can't wait to try the other burgers!

I had the burger with bacon, it was very good but could have been great if the bacon was nice and crisp , it was a bit undercooked for me , the chips were very good .

It's a good burger. I think that paying someone to come and bring your burger rather than fetch it like a dog with a boomerang buzzer is rude. Not asking for table service. Just some service.

Went for dinner tonight. Excellent prices for the food and burgers were excellent, freshly made, soft rolls and great sauce. My only negative is there is only one vegetarian option on the menu. Otherwise it would have been 5/5.

This burger joint is our go-to friday lunch place after a week of eating healthily. You wouldn't go wrong with the American Cheese and chips. Expect long lines on a Friday lunch. 😊
Sweetandyummie
Delicious burgers when you really want fast food but not macdonalds. The burgers are made fresh and the ingredients are high quality. The gateway is an excellent food venue and they have a car park which makes it easy for families.

Follow my insta @burgersnbikinis for more food pics!

Mad decent cheeseburger - nicely cooked beef pattie, great cheese melt, lettuce, tomato and sauce. And the fries! All the fries! So salty and tasty. Perfect Friday lunch treat!
Foodbabyofmine
We had two chicken katsu burgers. One with bacon and one without. It was good but nothing special. It was very dry too. I wish there was some form of sauce to complete the burger. The dressing from the coleslaw was barely enough. The balance was lacking. If it weren't for the ketchup dispensers available, the lack of sauce would have made the burgers intolerable. Thank goodness for tomato sauce. The chips were quite salty too. Overall, the lack of balance in flavors were noticeable. Service was good but I think we waited at least 15 minutes or more. Will I go back? It's certainly not in any rush to.

How I love Burger Project! Huge space located at the gateway, Circular Quay, it's a lovely setting for lunch. A good range of burgers and fries. On this occasion I got the bacon burger - it has cheese, pickles and a delicious sauce. Also got a bucket of nicely fried fries. Great place.

Good fast food but didn't taste at mass produced or processed. Real juicy burgers with a good amount of relish. and okay chips not my flavor but the others said they're nice!
Patopeaking Eats And Runs
I was craving for some Din Tai Fung for lunch but there was a massive queue >> bugger that!
So i went to Burger Project and had the Double Cheese and pattie with chips $17. I was so full i was rolling like a beachball..

Great food, better than Grilld and cheaper as well! Friendly service and nice view out the big windows! Would definitely recommend this place
I think the benchmark for great American-style burgers was set in Newtown about 3-4 years ago. And nobody in Sydney has touched it yet. Burger Project is a pretty good fallback, but if their Gateway outlet is anything to go by, the shakes need more flavour, and the chips aren't that fabulous either

Really nice food, all the burgers and frowns we had were beautifully presented and had great flavours - especially the mushroom burger!
Clean place to eat too with a nice view down on the square.
Salted Caramel
Read about Neil Perry's idea for this place - so was keen to try. Great location - we need good accessible food in town. Great option to have burger in a bowl for those not eating burger buns. God menu with same interesting combos.
Burger beef was delicious- beautifully cooked (medium rare and juicy), mushroom also delicious, fresh lettuce and tomato. The master needs to pass by - burger meat was cold ( mushroom was hot), way too much sauce so roll falls apart because it's beautifully thin.
Although there were a couple execution faults- I'd pass by again and sample - that wonderful burger meat- just as it should be - tasty and delicious.
