Maybe you won't believe if I said that I already went to this place 5 times for their high tea, one time back in 2018 for the Spring High tea and another four visit alone this year. Well, what can I say, I am truly a sucker for a thematic high tea. Petal Met Sugar is a small cake, coffee and florist store which never fail to amaze me with their high tee range. It located in Woolloomooloo area and actually can be reach by walking distance from St James station, you can just walk pass the St Mary Cathedral and voila you will reach your destination within 5 minutes.

Bought Scoopon voucher for this high tea on my birthday. It was the prettiest brunch i’ve ever had. All the pastries were not too sweet (swipe to the left):
- scones with yuzu jam&cream; scones was crumbly outside and fluffy inside, just it should be
- choux; when I ate the choux i already half full so i didnt notice how its taste like
- earl grey pond; strong earl grey and not too sweet with smooth texture
- green tea tiramisu; strong matcha and not too sweet as well
- salted caramel cronut; it could say it’s my fav so far. Firstly I was underestimate it would be taste so sweet like some cronuts i had before. But it’s not anyway.
Our hight tea package was included savoury stuff as well; salmon toasties (not a fan of sourdough so i didnt eat it), potato bread with scrambled egg (average taste but i liked the potato bread it’s very fluffy).
Anyway i was bit irritated with the coffee, I thought because we bought voucher so it came in small cup. It’s not enough for my hubby, so I tried to buy another 2 cuppa, and still...it came in small cuppa 😓

Such a beautiful place for a cake and coffee. All the cakes are presented so nicely and delicately. Matcha latte was very nice. Seating is limited though so may need to wait for a seat

While visiting Sydney.... we visited this lovely dessert house. The cakes were delicate, refined and delicious. The coffee to supplement was quite good too thanks to a perfectionistic barista. Limited outdoor seating available only so be warned.

I've been meaning to visit Petal Met Sugar for years now and finally got the chance yesterday.
I wish we'd booked for their spring high tea because seeing it on other tables; god it looked gorgeous.
Instead, we ordered scrambled eggs on toast and a double cheese pastry. The double cheese pastry was delicious and the coffee average.

Perfect place for the girliest brunch ever.

Make sure to book as the place only has 4 tables outside. The set up for the spring high tea is beautiful. Depending how many people you book, they’ll accomodate to that many servings on the acrylic tray. We had 3 so there was 3 of everything.

The moscato jelly was a nice surprise, the jelly had strong hints of moscato (and I don’t particularly like alcohol) but it was enjoyable. The palette cleanser was surprisingly sweet but good.

My favourite is the watermelon earl grey jam with scones, so good.

This place is always coming up with something new which is great!
I know there may be certain things on the menu that people like to order as creatures of comfort but it's also nice to be able to order something different.
Everything here is super pretty and their desserts have pairing twists that you've never even thought to put together but just go so well.
The service is also really good and the staff members are super friendly.
They have a limited amount of outdoor seating so make sure you book in advance.
It's definitely one to visit!

Petal met sugar is a small cafe that combines sweets and flowers. The cafe displays too pretty to eat desserts as you walked in, then a small display of beautiful flowers on their retail space and a very visible adjoining kitchen where you can see the pastry chef creating those edible artworks you just saw on display.

The interior is clean with white tile floorings and white plywood furnishings as if to humbly let the sweets and the flowers take centre stage.

The menu comprises of floral influenced sweets and drinks. I opted for the very instagrammable looking Terrarium, a white chocolate globe filled with passion fruit and finger lime pannacotta, brown butter soil and edible flowers. It's an incredibly delicate dessert that taste as good as it looks. I enjoyed it with a pot of Le Vie En Rose Tea which perfectly complements the dessert.

The Summer Rose Pav, with earl grey tea meringue, rose chantily cream, fresh strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, candied orange and lemon balm was vibrant and light. Their brownie was rich with generous amount of walnuts in the brownie. I washed all these down with Watermelon and Earl Grey Ice Tea which was refreshing and as elegant as their cakes.

I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. The space is limited but the wait for the table is worth it. Warning: you will want to eat every cake in here, they're that pretty!

Been here few times, they never disappoint.. love all their cakes, the venue is across the dome car park, close to st marys cathedral.. one thing that i would say it could be better is the seating.. there are not too many.. but for sydneysider that loves their desserts, highly recommend this place 😬✌️

Cosy small place. When I went with a friend it was quiet hour and we had made a reservation prior as we heard there could be a wait along with we wanting to try the Winter High Tea. It's a nice portion, different from your standard high tea but for the price, it's fantastic. We had visited in July, hence the cold winter, the cafe facing mostly east was great as we could soak in the morning sun.
Oh and not forgetting to mention, the interior of the place is a florist too!

Two of a girl's favourite things: deserts and flowers 🍰🌷

Drinks were ordered first which were complimentary to the high tea and we could choose any drinks we wanted. When I saw ‘earl grey hot chocolate’ on the drinks menu, I knew I had to get it. I was pleasantly surprised as the hot chocolate had the perfect blend of earl grey and the flavour was delicate; not overpowering.

The chai latte unfortunately was quite strong for me and was rather liquidy while the peach oolong tea had a soft note about it, with the scent of the peach slightly coming through. My friend and I also ordered the croissants separately as the high tea only included desserts; nothing savoury like the traditional high tea.

We started with the ‘madeleines’ and it was like eating a little muffin but better. Next, were the ‘scones’; they were lovely while the jam and cream complimented them lightly yet nicely. Forget the chai latte, get your chai fix through eating the ‘carrot and chai’ cake which was delicious and not dense at all.

Now for the ‘cronuts’, 3 out of 5 of ours were actually doughy and mine being one of them. I knew the texture was a bit odd but I couldn’t work it out fast enough until my friend made the comment that they were still raw. This goes to show how good the cronuts were, the flavours were definitely there but it was a shame we could not continue eating it. The staff apologised sincerely and offered us each a matcha macaron and a lavender one.

We saved one of the best till last, the blueberry tart was composed of blueberries but with a mild lavender flavour surrounding it.

I honestly hope PMS continues their high tea seasonally because it was that good and dare I say, one of the best high tea’s I’ve ever had? Regardless, the ‘earl grey hot chocolate’ and ‘ham & gruyere croissant’ were scrumptious enough that I would be back to this cafe in a heartbeat.

A gorgeous place for a different take on high tea! This part florist part patisserie is located on a quiet part of Woolloomooloo, and is a lovely spot for a coffee and sweet treat. I took Mum here for Mothers Day to order their famous high tea that comes served in Perspex boxes!

I was not disappointed! Not only is the high tea visually stunning and totally grammable, but it tastes delicious and the staff are so lovely!

Some of the treats in our boxes included:
- mini cronut
- chocolate covered strawberry on chocolate soil
- scones with cream and jam
- nougat
All surrounded by gorgeous flowers!

A lovely experience totally recommend!

Had a lovely high tea experience with my good friend to celebrate my birthday early! We tried out the new Winter High tea menu which consisted of 5 mini dessert sweets and it was accompanied with your choice of tea/coffee. We were told to eat the sweets according to the order in the menu and they tasted really nice. It wasn't too heavy, it was just right! The presentation was very cute and interesting. It's a good place to go to if you wanna go out on a date or catch up with friends. Would recommend coming here!

Visited for Mother's Day and had the Mother's Day high tea. Presentation is some of the best, super super cute! So much attention to detail.
The high tea is designed for two people and has five different mini dessert sweets with condiments ect. We also ordered two pots of tea, the peach oolong and elder flower green tea. Both teas were light but had great flavour, went perfectly with the dessert spread.

Would definitely recommend to everyone! They've now got a winter high tea which looks just as yum as the one I tried. Can't wait to go back and try some of their other desserts!

The crossover between a flower shop and a cafe was a brilliant idea. The desserts are beautiful and all have a touch of floral essence added to each. I had the flower bomb which was a fun dessert that was designed to be smashed to enjoy. As in the title, the dessert does have a subtle floral taste. The different textures and flavours this dessert offers is no force to be reckon with. From the orange blossom & mascarpone mousse to the crumble and topped with edible flowers, this dessert will take your palate through a floral roller coaster. I will definitely be back for more!

🍴 SALTED CARAMEL TART & MATCHA MILLE FEUILLE 🍴
.
So many minor details that these guys just executed like bosses. The crunch on the layers in the pastry. The balance of sweet and salty in their caramel mou. The bitter note in their matcha creme patisserie. If they were inner city or pyrmont side they'd be run of their feet. Luckily for us they're hidden in Darlinghurst/Woolloomooloo ✌️

I’ve recently visited a place that I’ve always wanted to try – PETAL MET SUGAR in Wolloomooloo. It’s a collaboration between a florist and a dessert chef. Isn’t that the best combo anyone could ever think of?. Let’s start with an overview flatlay of everything we had: ham & cheese croissant (for that savoury fix) / easter special dessert / terrarium / pancakes / flat white / matcha latte. We were lucky enough to try their easter special dessert –

‘Easter egg carton for two’

There are 5 easter eggs made from Callebaut white couverture chocolate, sort of like a ‘kinder surprise’. Each of them contains different ingredients inside: MATCHA / POPPING CANDY CRUMBLE / MANGO LIME GINGER / SALTED CARAMEL / GOLD DUST.

The cakes look just as beautiful as the flowers they sell. The shop & the space are lovely minimalist. However that also mean minimal seating of about 4 tables, which means expect to wait if you want to sit & eat-in. Once you're lucky enough to get a table, expect people waiting to hover around you. All of these hassles are somehow worth it because the cakes are as delicious as they are beautiful. The apple n chamomile is a great layers of textures, the creamy mousse encase the confit apple, the madeleine on the bottom compliments nicely. Sweetness was just right. The eclair was also lovely, the creme patisserie was smooth & indulgent with a coffee taste. The pink choc shards added a hint of rosewater. Love to comeback and try more!

Small cafe near the St Mary's Cathedral with an open kitchen, also selling pretty flowers other than cakes. Cakes were too pretty to be eaten though.
The tase of the cakes were really delicious. Was not too sweet. Had to share the cakes because it was quite filling and was easier to try different types of the cakes.

It definitely deserves a 4.2. Texture and presentation are all fantastic. And the sour and sweet combination for some deserts matches well.
As February is the smallest month, it offers mini size deserts this month, which is very cute.
Love this place v much.

There's one week remaining before the stunning Flower Bomb dessert will no longer be available. Orange blossom and mascarpone mousse, brown butter popping crumble and passionfruit jelly is enclosed within a fine, white chocolate dome, that is smashed to reveal a kaleidoscope of edible flowers.

The choice of cakes can be overwhelming and we managed to takeaway and sample a few of them before they were snapped up by the eager diners here. The cakes were beautifully presented and tasted as wonderful as they looked.

Service is friendly and guy did a good job juggling between making the drinks, playing the cakes and taking order and payments for takeaway as well. He was affable and offered advice on what cakes to try.

In short: A whimsical mix of culinary craft and magic, amazing sweet treats and great coffee too.

“Dynamic duos” come in many guises, Batman & Robin, Bert & Ernie, Han & Chewie, Cookies & Milk, but some partnerships are a little more abstract at first thought. Petal Met Sugar, a magical mingling of a florist and patissier in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo, is redefining the creative potential of eclectic collaborations, with sweet outcomes for all!

I see a lot of potential in this place and could be a solid 4.5 if they tweak a few things.

For starters the menu is a little small and not a wide choice compared to flour and stone just up the road. They also don't offer any solid foods apart from desserts which for me is a big question mark. Would you have lunch somewhere else and then drive here just for a few dessert items ??, see my point.

And don't get me started on the limited out door seating, as per above, it just makes it that much harder to come here even though their desserts are actually really good

I think with a few adjustments they'll be great, but that's down the line

great desserts and extremely friendly staff (who put up with us taking photos for half an hr). the cutlery and plates are super aesthetic and add to the whole dining experience which was simply superb :) their menu often changes so i'm keen to go back and try their new desserts but the ones we tried were really refreshing - i'd highly recommend trying their more fruity desserts as though the chocolate ones are nice, they can get a bit heavy (we ere sharing one chocolate rich one between the three of us and even then it got a bit too much) but the fruit ones are super tangy and light! will definitely be coming back and trying their new menu asap!i'd suggest going their earlier in the day as they do have limited seating

Deliciously light and fresh. These desserts weren't overly sweet and the attention they placed on the details of each of the dishes is evident in the presentation as well as flavour. My favourite was the matcha creme brûlée which actually had the bitter tone of matcha.
The terrarium was magical - with the jasmine tea panna cotta that was well balanced with the sweet white chocolate shell, my taste buds were on its own little adventure. The intricate presentation of the flowers made everything even more exciting. Moreover,
the vanilla infused croissant was light and flaky without being too oily. The only negative aspect was that the vanilla flavour was not dominant and I would have liked to taste more of the bean.

In general, I loved this place - another recommendation. I mean, it's Instagram worthy and lovely. A win, win.

Been meaning to check this place out after seeing so many pretty IG photos! So I made a reservation for a Sunday and a good thing I did cause it did get a bit busy!

Love the use of marble and hexagon tiles, such a fresh and inviting look! It's just a lot smaller than expected and that applies to everything I'm talking about. From the individual sweets and cutlery to their chairs and tables.

We got the Winter High Tea ($27.50 pp) and my goodness was it beautiful! The taste however, was a bit disappointing and a bit expensive for such a small amount of treats given. However i did quite enjoy the Raspberry Tartlette.

Nevertheless can definitely see the hype as it's super IG worthy and the flowers are so pretty! Service is also friendly and attentive.

So there are places where desserts are too pretty and you feel guilty eating them. But then all your guilt flies away because they taste amazing. Tried the terrarium. It's basically has lupicia Jasmin tea panacotta, yuzu gel, strawberry crisps, chocolate soil, edible flowers and lemon balm. And let's not forget how pretty it looks! You get a burst of different layers of flavours while tasting. And the layers are quite distinguishable from each other. I paired it with a lemongrass and organic peppermint tea. Beautiful combination. Coming back till I try all of what they have.

I cannot count how many times I have been here since its opening. I love everything about this place especially the details of their desserts. The menu changes occasionally. They also has special desserts every now and then such as on Valentine's or Mother's day (which are super gorgeous).None of the cake has never disappointed me. The reason why I can't give them 5/5 is because of the portions which are quite small unlike the prices. However you can fill your stomach with their cheap-and-delicious insta-worthy freshly made croissants and coffee/tea.

Petal Met Sugar isn’t the kind of place you can just order one thing from. I mean, look at their delicate, elegant sweets! So we ordered two cakes to share – the Vanilla and Rhubarb Eclair ($7) and the Salted Caramel ($6). The Eclair had a strip of dried rhubarb laid on top of a thin layer of sweet icing, but when you bit into the the soft, springy choux pastry, there was the lovely discovery of vanilla creme patissere. This paired delightfully with the sweet rhubarb jam also hidden inside – the flavours were subtle and sophisticated together. Next was the Salted Caramel, which was visually stunning – encased in a tart shell and topped with edible flowers, caramelised popcorn and gold sea salt (seriously, wow!). True

I Visited Petal Met Sugar after seeing some beautiful pics on Instagram. It is predominately a florist (beautiful arrangements) but has coffee and sweets. You can still the little kitchen where they bake the treats. Lovely lady operating the place.

I purchased the terrarium which was a dessert version of the plant terrarium callebaut 29.5% white chocolate "glass" with passion fruit lime pannacotta at the bottom, chocolate cocoa nip "dirt", lemon balm and edible flowers. It was delicious.

They had plenty of other options, in particular, a "snickers/twix bar style dessert", juices and coffees. Check out their instagram for further pics of their offerings.

A little hard to find (near the domain parking entrance), and more what I would call Darlinghurst (than wooloomooloo as listed in their address).

Very artistically cool 💐

Braved the summer heat and finally visited this gem yesterday - it was definitely worth it! While I was a little shocked to find there was only outdoor seating, I later forgot about the heat while eating their desserts.
Their iced teas had a subtle sweetness (the grapefruit/green tea one more subtle on the sweetness), which was perfect for the hot weather. We ordered the terrarium, peach oolong and citron, and all were beautifully presented. The combination of elements each dessert just worked so well with each other! While the desserts are quite small and are a little on the expensive side, the effort placed into the presentation and flavours make it all worth it!
Thank you for the lovely food, I will definitely visit again!

Petal Met Sugar is a new patisserie and flower shop located in Woolloomooloo. It opened up its doors last year in October and has quickly gained attention all over social media. One of the main reasons is its beautiful created cakes and minimalist design of the cafe. Flower shop meets cakes - well that's a whole lot of liking from me concept-wise. And the execution doesn't let it down. Gorgeous cakes with floral touches, exquisitely presented and full of technique. I couldn't resist the Terrarium and am glad I succumbed - white chocolate with a tangy pannacotta was as delightful to eat as it was to behold. Definitely a place to come for a special treat it or tea time. There are a few tables outdoors, which are likely in demand at busy times. But the Domain is just a hop skip and a jump away if you want to take your cake and and have a sweet little picnic on the grass.

I find myself using the words 'pretty', 'lovely', 'delicate' a lot when I think of Petal Met Sugar and on how to describe it. Originally wanted to try the Tasting Trio so I could dabble into a bit of everything, but they had run out by the time we got there, so I suppose get in early on Saturdays if you want to try it out! I was so excited to try the terrarium because it's an absolute delight for the eyes, but unfortunately (or fortunately) they had the festive sweets only for the holiday season.

Everything is undeniably pretty so it was really difficult to narrow it down to just two. Finally decided on the peach oolong and snowball with a watermelon and earl grey iced tea. It does seem a little pricey but the care and effort gone into making each and every dish definitely makes up for it. Both dishes were just lovely and delicate. I loved how the snowball opens up for some more pretty goodness, and the peach oolong is quite the treat. Not overly sweet which is something you would expect from all the sugar, and because the portions aren't big, you don't get sick of it. Watermelon tea was alright, but the other option of grapefruit green tea does sound more appealing for a second visit.

Really nice clean vibe to the place, and somewhere worth visiting again, but as it is on the pricier side I might save it for a time I really want to treat myself to some pretty flowers and lovely sweets. I also need to go back to try the terrarium!

Recently opened patisserie and florist near the Domain which I tip could become a crazy food blogger sensation very soon. Everything is very Instagrammable here from the pretty, dainty gateaux to the beautiful flowers and white spaces. While some tiny cakes are a hefty $9-10, this place would be excellent for a special occasion or simply splashing out and indulging yourself. I suggest lunch at nearby Flour and Stone then stopping by here for a sweet treat; or takeaway and sit in the park.

Food:
Chamomile and elderflower tea ($5) - 8/10
Chocolate candy bar ($9.50) - 9/10
Peach oolong ($9) - 7/10
Vanilla and rhubarb eclair ($7) - 8/10

Arrived at around 3pm and was able to get seats immediately however service was kind of dodgy and there were only about 5 tables to sit at so it was a quite small cafe seatings wise. The interior and atmosphere of the place was so great and chill. I had really high expectations for the terrarium, it looked great however the passion fruit panna cotta was extremely sour and totally turned me off. Other wise, the other desserts were great and satisfied my sweet tooth cravings 💖😛

Cute little pastry place located across the road from the domain car park. The salted caramel tart was delicious, and the terrarium is so cute. Reasonably priced as well.

Introduce to all of you a new Sydney city girls meet up spot: @petalmetsugar
When I first open my Instagram account, I was just randomly pick 3 things I really like, flowers, food and photo. Now I found a newly opened store, which perfectly fit all my interest.
Cakes here are so pretty like a small decoration, ice teas served with ice ball I only saw in whisky before.
I tried 4 different cakes including the Halloween special.

1.Peach oolong ||One of the signature cake
It has been long time that I haven't seen something like this: simple but so beautiful. This store just considered every single details, from the color of the plate, table flowers, table color to that pure white with raspberry red touch cake.
In this cake, complex layers and flavors, including yoghurt, coconut, nuts, peach, berry and oolong, mixed together and give us a food symphony inside our mouth. It taste beautiful, soft, with a bit of tangy. Really suit the incoming summer.
The only downside I can think of is we can't really taste the oolong flavor. I can see the small crushed tea leaves in one of the layer but the berry layer might over take it.

2. Ghastly Ghouls||The super cute Halloween cake
Top: the Pavlova type of top really give this cake a highlight. I got upset when I heard the pumpkin was sold out but really got cheered up when saw this little ghost. The top is crispy outside and fluffy inside. Flawless.

Bottom: I forgot to check the description on the counter but...I think it is a blueberry mousse cake (correct me if I am wrong). I really like the texture and how it's creamy but also light taste at the same time. The base is a little bit hard for me because my fork can't poke through ....😜but overall, it's such a creative cake and it's great. Too bad only available at Halloween.

3.Terrarium||this is just something definitely will catch most girls' eyes. When last weekend I went there, I saw this amazing cake, it's just lighted my whole afternoon. Simple pleasure haha.

Intro:" passionfruit finger like pannacotta, cocoa nib soil, baby lemon balm, edible flower garden, callebaut 29.5% white chocolate"

My friend used "summer garden" to described this cake.

The passionfruit inside is actually pretty tangy, so it's better to eat with the white chocolate shell for the balance taste.
And it is a guilty pleasure to destroy the whole cup and nom nom it....

4.Vanilla and rhubarb Eclair|| this is like one of the best eclairs, or I should say desserts I had ever.
Intro:" vanilla bean (source from New Zealand), creme patisserie, rhubarb jam, rhubarb chips, choice pastry (nut-free)." This is a small eclair but full of different flavors. When I heard eclair, I normally link to those profiteroles with a oblong shape stuff with cream inside. This beautiful eclair is so different. It have such a great texture, soft but a little bit sticky, with a tiny bit of tangy from rhubarb and the superb aroma from the vanilla bean. I can eat it everyday. (The only flaw is: the size is small not enough 😣😣)

cafe called Petal Met Sugar, combining good pastries and desserts with fresh flowers - a few of my favorite things, on the ground floor of a new apartment in Woolloomooloo. inside, the strong buttery fragrance floats in the air invites you to. linger a little longer while admiring all colorful and beautiful flowers situated just next to the desserts cabinet.

Lovely patisserie and florist that never disappoints with the delicious treats on offer. They do great coffee and amazing selection of tea that is just perfectly matched to their high tea tasting. Highly recommended, just good luck getting a seat!

Such a pretty place!! All the cakes are beautifully crafted, and incredibly instagramable. For eggs and bread, I got the potato roll, it’s really nice. Slightly dense, but not difficult to cut through with a knife, eggs were scrambled nicely. Coffee was done well too! Parking in the area can be slightly tricky, I went on a weekend, so street parking isn’t too bad. There’s always the domain carpark that is a decent walking distance from it, so that’s a good option too.

Anything with flowers, is my soft spot. So I give this place 5/5. But their desserts is really good, I tried their flower bomb, exterior is coated with white chocolate layer which is cracked to reveal the interior filled with mascarpone mousse, passion fruit jelly, meringue dust and spring blossoms. This is their spring- only menu!

Really cute little place with interesting pastries, cakes and croissants. Good coffees and drinks too. Not a lot of seating so don't expect to have more than four people seated easily. I believe they have about 5 tables of 4 available.

The place is really cute. I had the high tea set there which was really pretty but was a bit overpriced for the serving size, as there were mainly sweets and hardly any savoury dishes. But the seasonal high teas here are very pretty.

I love the fact that this is not only a dessert place, but it has a flower shop inside the cafe, pure beauty! It's a heaven for a sweet tooth like me.
