Came here on a recommendation from a friend and really enjoyed the dining experience. Exceptional food and service!

Like many ethnic restaurants, the concept and menu of Mama’s Buoi are inspired by home style cooking from the older generation. The word Buoi refers to a type of citrus fruit common in Vietnam, often home grown and served at family dinner. Begin with something bite size such as the dumplings or spring rolls. Large chunks of prawns ($16/4pcs) are almost visible through the translucent wrap and the thick sweet soy is a nice change to the usual yum cha dipping sauce. We demolished all four pieces in no time.
The Vietnamese re-telling is one hot mess with open tables that allow groups to spill into one another, semi private booths with accents of fresh herbs and panoramic views into the kitchen action!.
This place give you the vibe that you look for after work. Cozy, warm, and friendly staff that will makes you fall in love with this place in instant. Of course service isnt the only thing that bring this place to the top. The taste of the food itself has now getting so much better. As i’ve been told that now they got new chef to run the kitchen, their food actually improving from flat to AMAZING! Now the stir fry got the taste of the wok, and the pho?!?!? Oh yes! Real deal for the pho! Absolutely gonna worth your time and the money. 😉

This is more or a high end Vietnamese fusion place. We stumbled by this restaurant in Surry Hills since it has a very eye-catching neon sign at the front
Our main complaint is that some tables have a stool (pictured) which is very uncomfortable to sit on after some time. So this is your warning. Not all tables have it, just the ones along the wall. We didn't need a booking for two on a Saturday night but there were some groups who had a booking. The customer service was fantastic.
We ordered the
- duck pancake: it was very tasty, basically like Peking duck with a twist since it had some pineapple in it too.
- caremelised pork belly which felt like it was a homecooked meal, the juice was good to drizzle on rice.
- sizzling pork which was a house special: in my opinion it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad.
There are so many other things I want to try on the menu so I will come back sometime!
Great spot for a more upscale vietnamese fusion dining experience. They also have special deals on certain weekdays, we got a glass of wine and vermicelli noodle bowls for $20. Also ordered the soft shell crab papaya salad, only ask is would have liked a bit more crab!
Amazing food! Ingredients are really fresh and the taste are just right. Personal favorite is the vermicelli salad with pork + crackling, but their choices of hot pots/curries are always very comforting during colder months.
This Modern and trendy Vietnamese restaurant located in in surry hills is definitely worth visiting.
They cater a more modernise version of Vietnamese cuisine. Minimum spend for two is around $65.
We ordered a Large bowl of chicken pho, this could be shared amongst a group of four. My friend and I demolished it! The soup was nice and clean and did not lack flavour.
The duck crepes is must try! It’s full of flavour and although it’s not the traditional one you would normally get at an authentic and un modernised place, it is still very flavourful!
The chicken ribs were another fave and must try! It’s bursting with flavour and the sauce it absolutely delicious. The chicken is quite crunchy.
The ambiance is quite nice, very cosy & intimate. Perfect for date night or a quick dinner.
Definitely a fancier way to eat Vietnamese cuisine.
Fabulous restaurant which I would highly recommend. Clean food, great staff and the perfect meal to enjoy by yourself or with friends.
I visited the Surry Hills location - very easy access from Central Station.
Consistently good food and service! Funky interior and well priced considering it's Surry Hills. Yeah it's Vietnamese but not Cabramatta Vietnamese, has a modern Asian slant. I'm quite sensitive to MSG and had no issues here.
