If you live in Sydney, you know this place, even though you might not know that you know it. It’s the pub on the corner at Circular Quay next to and above the McDonalds. I must have passed it a hundred times. So, it was fun to finally eat here. My pal immediately identified that the downstairs looked a pretty standard (photo below) and the upstairs (forgot to take photos) is nice: open, funky.
Upstairs has great seating with open air/sky and lots of windows and very warm heat lamps if U chose to sit near them. Very cute decor with stylish umbrellas. Great and Relaxing vibe. Lots of seats.
Food is a hit or miss....1st visit food was excellent, 2nd visit food was average. Loved the barramundi fish and steak. During 2nd visit, the asparagus was burnt and wilted so I was surprised they served it still, and the fries that were served with the steak was soggy due to the sauce on the steak had dripped all over the entire plate so wish the sauce was on the side/contained. The fish was excellent and cooked perfectly during both of my visits.
U order at bar, very easy, friendly staff. Took them a long time to get the food out but we didn’t mind cuz vibe was nice and it had tv with awesome video of extreme sports and scenic travel spots so it was entertaining to watch. Kitchen is Open all day. It’s a bar type atmosphere so they only have limited coffee, i.e. no soy/no decaf/no large/no chai lattes, but they have the regular coffees and hot teas.
This place is a hidden treasure in Circular Quay.
The ambience is awesome, specially for a laid back Sunday brunch while you enjoy the sunshine.
Ordered the chicken wings and Atlantic salmon.
Both the dishes were good.
Definitely visiting this place again soon.
First time I've been back to Paragon for lunch since they renovated and I was super impressed with the improvement! It wasn't hard to exceed expectations considering how poor the food was previously, but I was very satisfied with the schnitzel. The open air area upstairs on a nice sunny day made the meal that little bit better.
Not a bad option for drinks after work either upstairs, but a lack of sports or happy hour probably hurts bringing a decent crowd in or regular patrons.
Great service and atmosphere. Would recommend to friends and family just wanting a causal drink or a night out on the town. Food is also pretty good.
The Paragon Hotel must be everyone's stopover before heading home. Their food is average. Friendly staff. Music can be a bit too loud sometimes.
Paragon Hotel has been around for yonks and I've been there for many drinks but I try their food for the first time. Paragon Hotel is located in Circular Quay, across from Custom's house and McDonalds. There's a splatter of either really pricey food in Circular Quay or fast food in the area and I think Paragon is a nice medium for those who are saving their $ but want to sit down to a decent lunch.
Solid pub, with plenty of character and space. Booths, pool tables, outdoor area, etc. I've had some great nights here. Pub food if pretty good in general, quailty and price are on the high side
I love the room concept since it is quite large and has "different" theme in every edge, whether you want dancing with your friends, having dinner with families, or chit chat in sofas and drink beers. I also like the cocktail, mixed perfectly. However, not really happy with the meals, i ordered medium-well steak but what i got is over-well cooked one.
Food ranges from above average pub food to good bistro offerings. Pricing very fair for area. Good and friendly service on all my visits.
Steak was cooked the way I requested, fresh salad and crisp chips. Staff were friendly and meal served quickly. Good lunchtime meal and competitive price for other similar venues.
We came for a quick bite and drinks and were happy to see a great selection of beers.
We ordered the $1 Hot Chilli Chicken Wings & Chips.
The place was nice and quiet, so we got to enjoy our drinks and food.
Service was also quick and friendly.
I attended with my running group after running in to Vivid. We surprisingly found seating for 14 and enjoyed our experience. The food was good quality and most of it came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was also good. Great pub in a great location.
Nice bar/ hotel with good vibes located in Circular Quay. Quite delicious steak and salt pepper squid
The Paragon Hotel is located in Loftus Street, Sydney, across from Circular Quay. I caught the train to Wynyard and then caught the connecting train to Circular Quay Station from Platform 6.
We had booked a table in the dining area upstairs. It's a typical, vibrant pun atmosphere. The food's not bad at reasonable prices.
Nice semi-outdoors area upstairs. Food is good and good atmosphere. Only down side is that smokers occupy a side of the upstairs space which gets annoying. Great schitties and good pizza.
Nice staff, decent price, good location. Have an outdoors tables
