If you live in Sydney, you know this place, even though you might not know that you know it. It’s the pub on the corner at Circular Quay next to and above the McDonalds. I must have passed it a hundred times. So, it was fun to finally eat here. My pal immediately identified that the downstairs looked a pretty standard (photo below) and the upstairs (forgot to take photos) is nice: open, funky.
Upstairs has great seating with open air/sky and lots of windows and very warm heat lamps if U chose to sit near them. Very cute decor with stylish umbrellas. Great and Relaxing vibe. Lots of seats.
Food is a hit or miss....1st visit food was excellent, 2nd visit food was average. Loved the barramundi fish and steak. During 2nd visit, the asparagus was burnt and wilted so I was surprised they served it still, and the fries that were served with the steak was soggy due to the sauce on the steak had dripped all over the entire plate so wish the sauce was on the side/contained. The fish was excellent and cooked perfectly during both of my visits.
U order at bar, very easy, friendly staff. Took them a long time to get the food out but we didn’t mind cuz vibe was nice and it had tv with awesome video of extreme sports and scenic travel spots so it was entertaining to watch. Kitchen is Open all day. It’s a bar type atmosphere so they only have limited coffee, i.e. no soy/no decaf/no large/no chai lattes, but they have the regular coffees and hot teas.
This place is a hidden treasure in Circular Quay.
The ambience is awesome, specially for a laid back Sunday brunch while you enjoy the sunshine.
Ordered the chicken wings and Atlantic salmon.
Both the dishes were good.
Definitely visiting this place again soon.
