The best vegan burger I've ever had. Every time I'm in Sydney, I *must* have this burger. Brown rice, perfect texture, excellent salad, amazing sauce. Better than any other vegan burger and doesn't go down the mock meat path. I wish they would come to Melbourne.
Usually don't out of my way to eat vegetarian but have had this before and quite enjoyed it. This particular food outlet is in the MLC Centre food court. There was a steady queue of people and the service was quick and friendly. They have a variety of meals available including lasagne, soups, curries, casseroles, and pies.
I went with a Vegetables & Tofu Curry With Black Bean Sauce Curry With Sprouts & Brown Rice. It was quite filling with the tofu and brown rice. I certainly felt healthier for it and was quite tasty.
When you need a healthy lunch, go no further than here - Iku has a great range of foods like rice balls, wraps, polenta, soups and salads. On this occasion I got the vegetable lasagne with olives, tomato, zucchini and more. It came with a side salad and dressing. They heated it up for me to go.
This is a health food outlet in the MLC food court centre. Make your choice from the millet and arancini balls, Vietnamese rice papers rolls, sushi, soups, wraps and burgers, all the way through to homemade lasagne and quiche. I usually grab the millet balls and either a wrap or some Vietnamese rice paper rolls. These are standard to Iku and are consistently good. Price wise you are paying for healthy and wholesome options and in today's world it is going to be more expensive than your traditional take aways but it's fresh and extremely filling. Grab any one of these options and head outside for some fresh air to go with your fresh food and bring your appetite
The food at Iku is super healthy. It's also tasty and filling, so a must do on those days when you feel like being virtuous and eating something that's good for you. My favorites are the breakfast porridge, the muffins which are super yummy, and the tamarind curry with brown rice. They also do a great little mezze plate at lunchtime which is perfect for a little picnic in the park.
I come here often for the cereal in the morning. Given, I also know where to buy the cereal wholesale, an entire packet costing the same as their one serve (but don't, so it's the convenience I pay for). Serves are large and the content protein rich so very filling. My only gripe is that all the lunch meals taste exactly the same. All the hot dishes seem to be almost identical in flavour. I don't buy lunch here for that reason. Except for their rice paper rolls! They are DELISH! Staff are always lovely too!
