One of the best hor chocolate and bacon and egg roll! Amazing mix of ingredients. The fritter was also delicious, just too spice for me the avocado salsa. The place is cozy and calm.
I often frequent this cafe for my morning cuppa and it rarely disappoints! I can't wait to give its food a go
Really enjoyed this place, generous brekkie with heaps of avo and perfect poached eggs, great coffee and service with personality, thanks guys!
Great menu selection where quality ingredients and presentation work hand in hand. They do great coffee and the staff provide exceptional service. Great vibe and atmosphere here, highly recommended.
Food presentation was excellent!!! Too pretty to eat, panna cotta was delicious and colourful. The french was a let down as the fig was tasteless but the toast was toasted perfectly. Last the pan cooked egg with chorizo was yummy but didn’t stand out much.

I had actually gone in wanting to order the original chicken affair, but it was blocked off on the menu so I decided to get the mushroom salad with added chicken instead, and it turned out better than I expected! Really tasty, loved the pear in it. The coffee was great too. 👍
Such a treat with a fantastic menu and amazing coffee I couldn’t fault a thing. The venue caters for inside and outside, the service was really friendly and the food was beautifully presented. Highly recommend the granola with panna cotta, it was absolutely amazing and also the french toast was insanely good. A definite must !

Went here at about 2pm, so late for brunch! Haha, but so happy that we did :) the staff was very helpful being me bringing my babygirl along to a pretty small space cafe :p
Ordered the burger for the hubby, heirloom carrot for me and also their creme brulee on cone and french toast. Loving all their dishes accept the burger is pretty average. But the frenchtoast is ohmygod too good! Fluffy snd not too sweet: i usually can only eat a spoon or two of a frenchtoast but this one isssss amazingly yummy!
Highly recommended :) their cafe has a good natural lighting too :) but it can get quite warm during summer
The Grumpy Barista in Alexandria just released their new menu items. They have unique brunch dishes with plenty of flavour! My faves would have to be the Chefs Magic Mushrooms, Sandy Crabbo and the Creme Brûlée waffle cone.
•The Magic Mushroom dish is surrounded by some soft as potato mash with different mushrooms including enoki, portobello. The crispy prawn cracker makes this dish • Sandy Crabbo is deep fried soft shell crab with some spicy egg. Plenty of flavour in this one • End your brunch with the Creme brûlée cone. The sugar top is divine and the softness of the Creme is a winner for me
Thanks to the Grumpy Barista for the invite!
Great addition to the Alexandria cafe scene. Found it really difficult choosing something from the menu, everything looks delish!
Had the figs on brioche, grumpy hot pot and the museli with strawberry pannacotta. Love the first two dishes. Highly recommend this cafe. Their burgers sound delish too.
I stopped by for brunch, and they were doing takeaway orders only; however, you can order takeaway and sit at the tables to eat. We got the acai bowl and a super food bowl. The acai bowl was good, but the texture was slightly on the runny/melted side. it was generously topped with fruits, granola, and peanut butter(cost extra). The super food bowl was nice and fresh. Looking forward to trying their full menu when they go back to normal dining.
Don't you love a provocative juxtaposition? Bad was good in the 70s; sick was wonderful; now Grumpy is the new relatable. This place is less popular than a place down the road, but the food works...though the salt and pepper provided come to use. The coffee is fine and the service is friendly..just remember to order and pay at the counter. Refills are happily provided to the table, pay on delivery.
nice coffee super friendly team. lots of vegetarian options, the houlimi egg rolls we're flying out the door.
inside and outside (in the sun) seating.
We went to this place for brunch and we had two main dishes and three coffees. The Grumpy’s hotpot is two eggs baked in tomato sauce with some Danish feta on top. The eggs weren’t runny enough for me, but I liked the Danish feta with the sauce. The venue was fine and the service was good. (8/10)
Great food at decent prices. Friendly staff and plenty of seating options inside
Yummy coffee the Nutella Cookie was really good!!
Food is great. The coffee was good.
I think the barista had a pretty grumpy day. The artistic leaf looked horrible. I assume it's on purpose to match the theme
No fuss, extremely efficient, great coffee and even better food
