Normally go to Rhodes Phoenix for Yum Cha, but came here to the one in Zetland for a combined birthday/fathers day luncheon for the wife and father in law.
Service seemed a little friendlier than their counterparts in Rhodes who seem a little gruffer in their welcome. Although up-beat friendliness is appropriate when your pointing a temperature gun at peoples heads upon entry.
Food was really good and enjoyable. Every dish was of good quality and very tasty especially the BBQ pork ribs, prawn, garlic and chive dumplings. Mango Pancakes were well and truly on point as expected. Rich, creamy, and oh so moreish. The fried white bait were good. Crispy, salty and great. Like fishy crisps. All the dishes were fresh, and tasty.
Food wise was just as good as their Rhodes counterparts, and about the same distance from home. Would come back.
I came here for a yumcha on a Sunday midday. So I was not surprised that the place was completely packed and we had to line up. The selection was enormous and we had so many yumcha dishes to choose from. The chicken feet and prawn dumplings were my favourite. This place is definitely a little overpriced though and more expensive that most yumcha places.
Good variety of dim sums , the usual waiting in line for yumcha on the weekends. The Har Gow and Siu Mai taste very fresh. Tofu fa is delicious, quite pricey for you average yumcha but still better then alot of other places.
The yum cha menu is tasty with lots of variety dumplings, dim sims, noodles and other delicious eats. My only criticism is the service is not particularly helpful nor friendly. #eastphoenix
Brunching Chinese style, best with family and friends.
Place:
Located on 3rd floor of east village sholopping centre, Zetland.
Can cater and license for 500 people, huge place.
Service:
From what we received, it’s a pretty good & quite attentive.
Food and Drink:
Chinese tea, off course, the best way to cut through greasiness from some dishes.
Chicken feet: maybe not everybody’s favorite but I do like it.
Siomay, love the texture, flavour and a crowd pleaser.
Vegetable, served with oyster sauce it’s good if you need some fiber in your meal.
Love the variety and taste, one of my favorite new place for yum cha.
We had birthday party here with 2 big tables. All the food are great. Portions are huge. Big spaces to sit. We asked for some egg noodles with shredded pork not in the menu and they can make it nice for us. A bit pricey but still considerably affordable.
Quality of food is good! Friendly servers. Great place to eat with friends & family! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good and delicious dumplings!
The thing I love about yum cha is that it is instant food. This place was pretty busy on a Tuesday lunch, which was a good sign. We went for fried spring rolls, steamed pork dumplings, steamed prawn dumplings and a whole bunch of other dishes that I had no idea what they were. They were all delicious!
The place is a little pricey so I’m not sure if I would go back because I know there is cheaper around.
Yum cha service can be generally abrupt so it's a pleasant surprise when you come across polite and customer-oriented trolley ladies and waiters that seem to genuinely care about their customers. A case in point, we ordered a dish of stir fried noodles and the lady insisted we wait a couple of minutes so she could bring us a fresh plate of steaming, hot noodles. When the dish we wanted wasn't on one ladies dessert trolley, she took the trouble to go find it for us. Our Chinese teapot was consistently topped up without us asking.
There was a good choice of yum cha delicacies and my only complaint would be that the white bait was particularly salty and chewy. Otherwise, it was a great lunch catch up with friends (because yum cha is always better shared).
Good yum cha however it does takes a while til your seated if you come during peak times.
Service is quick & fast when you are able to flag a person in black down.
All your yum cha usual dishes. Conveniently located at the East Village shopping centre so you can park, shop & eat all in the same roof.
Sorry about the poor quality of photos, the people I was with were in a rush to tuck in.
