Review Cafe Parisienne - Sydney

Delicious food and great atmosphere in this new Eastern Suburbs gem by Denise Winters! A friend of mine and I came here for dinner recently and had a great time. We live locally and had been told by some friends that we should come here as they loved the food. Coming in it is a classy and yet relaxed decor, that is very Sydney but has nice touches of French decor. We weren't dressed up, but felt totally comfortable in the inviting atmosphere that Denise has created. So onto the food & drinks! We ordered some garlic bread to start, with the pate and escargot for entrees. All of it tasted so good! I had a Mango Daiquiri which was lovely and my dining partner had a try of the French beer that's on the menu and liked that too. For mains we got the Brandy Duck Breast and the Fillet with Mushrooms- OMG! They were out of this world! The duck and the fillet were so tender and the flavours that Denise has created in the sauces is to die for! The portions were so generous that we didn't have room to have a dessert each so we shared the profiteroles- heaven! If you haven't been here and made this a regular restaurant on your schedule yet- you'd better get in asap! Don't hesitate, get in here! You won't regret it!

What a wonderful place for a meal. The food is exquisite. I've been several times with friends, and we love it. You must start with the French Onion Soup, its served with bread and Blue Cheese, simply amazing. The rest of the menu is reasonably priced, and perfectly cooked. Those who have been to Paris, will find a familiar taste and feel here.

Small and cosy restaurant with nice decor and very well priced. The french menu has a good range. The steak dishes I've tried have been delicious and the deserts also very tasty. Not a long wine list, but functional and inexpensive. Recommended for a nice easy night out when you're looking for good food at a good price.

This visit was the second time we have eaten at Cafe Parisienne and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. The greeting was warm and friendly as was the service throughout the meal. We ordered the Pate Maison both times as an entree and it was a delicious beginning to a delicious meal. I had the duck as a main the first time I was there and loved its flavour and the soft texture of the meat. The second time I had a tender fillet, medium rare. The meat was so easy to eat and the accompanying veges suited the meal to a tee. We had brought our own wine the first time we dined there so the second time we tried the French Melot, Louis Eschenauer. I have never tried a French Merlot before and this one was a beauty! Nice to be at a restaurant where these wines are available and affordable. Really love the decor and the ambience. Simple yet with a touch of France . I will definitely be back for more good times. Thanks Denise for two great nights out. Would gladly recommend this restaurant for some excellent French fare.

We had lunch at this lovely little French restaurant today. It has a casual and elegant ambiance, and the owner, Denise Winters took great care of us .We had her home made French Onion soup (DELICIOUS!) and Duck Liver pate w condiments for entree. Then a perfectly cooked loin of pork with brandy and apple sauce, and beef bourgignon with red wine sauce and roast vegetables.Excellent value and highly recommended.

We had dinner here last night and while I appreciate that the prices are low, the food is pretty ordinary. The garlic prawns were pre peeled frozen prawns with no taste sitting in a plate of oil and the pate was grey and came with toasted square supermarket bread. Garlic bread was a similar story with a supermarket baguette. Steaks were good and beautifully cooked. Overall I wouldn't bother to go there again. With so much great good on offer in the east don't waste your time

We had dinner there last night for our anniversary and it was absolutely fabulous to say the least. The menu is varied and the food was awesome. The staff were very warm and friendly and the ambience magnificent. We took the BYO option but their wine list is good and affordable. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will most definitely go there again.

Put simply it was bad. Entree: My paté was half of a Coles paté tub plopped on a plate, served with Turkish bread. Not French bread... Turkish. Main: Beef Bourguignon. To be fair the sauce was pretty tasty (hence 2 stars instead of 1), but the beef was obviously the cheapest cut they could find as it was very tough and fatty. Dessert: Slightly stale profiteroles with chocolate. Again, tasted like end-of-the-day special pre-made ones from Coles. I actually saw them pouring Cottee's brand chocolate sauce on top.
