Came here for their lunch time set menu special. I had the spring roll and dimsim for entree, the Black Bean Beef with Fried Rice for main and was very satisfied with the portions. Nice day outside and like the outdoor area here watcing the hustle and bustle of the main strip! Definitely would come back as the service is good, the wait times reasonable and value for money is on point.
Best Chinese restaurant in Sydney, haven’t been any other restaurant since trying them .. highly recommended
My husband and I enjoyed the steamed fish and oyster cooked in Chinese wine, the staff is friendly and helpful
Also pork ribs with strawberry sauce is not to be missed
Wandered down to Chinatown, wasn’t sure wether to go in as I don’t like people outside trying to get you in, food was good and enjoyable. Had chicken dim sums and pork, and pork fillet and chicken cashews for Main. Nice food, service prompt and friendly.
Had dinner here. Some menus weren't entirely to my personal tastes but otherwise food here is quite enjoyale and I had enjoyable experience. Overall, quite pleasant
Had yumcha here today. Sat inside cause it was freezing. Service was good. Lady standing out the front showed us to our table inside. We ordered tea and then waited for the yumcha.
Garlic and prawn dumplings were the first dish we tried. They were steaming and delicious. Chicken wings also very nice and tasty. We then had other dishes such as prawn toast, scallop dumplings, prawn noodle things and more.
We had to ask for some Chinese broccoli. The selection that came around wasn't very varied. So things like salt and pepper squid and veggies needed to be ordered seperate. Tea wasn't nice just abit off.
Everything was pleasant here but not the best yumcha I've been too.
Before we went in my husband asked if it's a tourist trap. I answered no, having been there before for yum cha so we proceeded to go in (but I was wrong). The selection was poor on this occasion, the food was average (i.e what you would expect) but service was prompt. I also ordered a seafood congee and fried dough sticks. The bill came to just under $70 for 4 yum cha plates and the two extra items mentioned earlier. Of course, they charged for tea too. The seafood congee was a rip off at $24.80. There was two prawns, two scallops and some pieces of fish.
I don't think I would be going back given the abundance of choices in the area.
ToFeedTwo were THAT HUNGRY and only THINKING WITH THEIR STOMACHS we forgot to take photos until we had basically demolished our meals😏😏!! So please excuse the lack of great photography.
We had the springs rolls for entree (in our stomachs before we realised we didn't get a photo) and for mains: Sweet and Sour Pork & Szechuan Spiced Chicken, with a special fried rice. A decent, typical Chinese dinner with nothing bad or nothing special about it - filled our hungry stomachs after a day of touring Sydney, that's for sure! No fuss, with good service :)
Good food but too expensive. However if one is looking for the best Cantonese seafood in town, this place would be hard to disappoint until the bill arrives.
Wandered to Golden Harbour Restaurant around 1030am looking for some brunch that wasn't cafe food and thought yum Cha would be a good choice.
We were seated inside and offered tea as soon as we sat down. The restaurant was clean and service was decent. The food on offering were hand delivered on trays (not trolleys like what we're usually use to as the restaurant was quite small).
Everything was fresh, from the dim sum to the chicken feet and fried dumplings. The food here was good, my favourite was the pumpkin & prawn dumplings, football (combination fried dumpling), and even their chicken feet was tasty (I don't usually eat chicken feet 🙈). The mango pudding didn't look great but it tastes delicious! - must have.
We enjoyed our yum Cha and wanted to come back again but on our return today the restaurant was closed even though their opening hours are from 10am-4pm , 5pm-11pm today. We arrived at 1005am but the restaurant didn't open until 1040am which was quite disappointing.
Overall nice place to have Yum Cha. Worth a visit.
A perennial favourite for weekend yum cha. I go totally crazy for the pork buns (of the steamed and baked varieties) whenever I visit and drown everything in chilli sauce.
Came here for last minute dinner! The staff were friendly and acted like our butlers for the night. It was funny!
We were served with green tea to start, then ordered spring rolls and Sang Choy bow with seafood.
The service was fast, staff were attentive and our food came to us within minutes.
For main we ordered boiled vegetables with an oyster sauce, it was perfect, couldn't fault it. It was a good compliment for our lobster which we also had for our main.
The Lobster was marinated in a Szechuan sauce and It was delicious, spicy and had good taste. Unfortunately texture-wise, the lobster was chewy and a bit hard to eat, it had a somewhat rubber feel when you eat it. We have had our fair share of lobsters in the past, but this one was a let down. The only thing that saved this dish was the delicious marinade it was cooked in.
Overall, the service was excellent, ambience was nice and aside from the lobster, the food was cooked well!
So I spent the day sick in bed and decided that if I want to sleep at all I'd have to leave the house and get some exercise. I'm kind of struggling with sleep at the moment. I grabbed Cobalt, his dog handbag and got on the light rail. We ended up in Chinatown.
The lady out the front with the menu (Maria) waved us down and we decided to try this restaurant. Cobalt got a bowl of water and we ordered.
We got Choy Sum in oyster sauce, salt n pepper prawns and a special dish (off menu) that the waiter Bob recommend fillet steak with XO sauce.
Average food, but great service. There are a lot of options when it comes to yum cha dim sims around the area. The waitress looking after us was pretty good though. That's about it.
Was a bit sceptical when the lovely lady outside kept waving us in, as always considered this as more a touristy place. But i was surprised, fresh dimsum, reasonable prices. It was nothing too special, your standard fare, but service was prompt. Easy meal, there is a fair bit of MSG in the food tho.
The Yum Cha here is great. It was a nice day to sit outside; service is fast with food coming out in trays rather than trolleys. Staff were attentive too. Overall an enjoyable experience and would dine here again.
There was no doubt that our cholesterol probably went sky high that night, but it was an indulgence that was well worth it. We were satisfied and happy. Amazingly, we managed to finish the whole 1kg of crab between just the two of us, because it was just so yummy. We definitely wouldn’t mind returning for the crab noodles, that is, once we feel less guilty about
For entrée we went with the spring rolls ($7). They were very nice. Not too oily and were very tasty. They were supplied with a sweet and sour sauce. We were surprised to find that these were actually chicken spring rolls, when the menu mentioned nothing about this, so I hope that vegetarians don’t order this thinking that they’ll be ge
I'm not a fan of deep fried dumplings but we came to eat at 3pm and there was hardly anything left :( But all our requests were made fresh! Which was good
Enjoyed a great meal, right in the heart of bustling Chinatown. Some of the best BBQ duck I have had, fantastic!
Highly recommended.
Great food. AMAZING hostess. Worth the trip! Pan fried rice noodles ftw
Favourite. A favourite place to dine out for yum cha whenever I'm in chinatown!
Service is excellent, with waitresses quickly bringing you dishes.
Price is very reasonable and definitely worth it!
Generally good. Found the sweet corn soup underseasoned but honey chicken and spare ribs were yummy. Good fried rice too. I think they should get rid of the tanks as they just look dirty.
Love it. When a couple of friends and I were in Sydney for a few days we chose this restaurant because of the funny owner trying to lure us in (Chinatown here is very competitive!). What can I say, I'm so glad he persuaded us because the food was incredible! The black bean beef probably the best I've ever had- perfectly tender and fresh. We also ordered a hot pot dish, chicken cooked in white wine which was amazing and a dish the waiter assured us we would love. During our four days in Sydney we ate here 3 times! And it was fantastic every time. Definitely recommend eating here if you want quality chinese food and friendly staff.
Amazing. My friend and her father took us here after Lady Gaga at the entertainment centre. It was without a doubt, the most amazing chinese restaurant I have ever been to. I highly recommend it.
I have always been on the search for the perfect short soup. I found it here. It was amazing.
Satisfied. Had cravings for yum cha and was starving! Which was just as well...as soon as we sat down, all the trolley/tray ladies swarmed towards us and offered everything and anything! LOL!
The chicken feet could have had a little bit more taste to it and less colouring. But other than that, it was a satisfying meal!
Consistently good food. Always consistent; this place is the epitome of organised chaos. How they don't break stuff I don't know; they setup tables a bit like Shintaro throwing star knives! Licensed, frenetic but usually attentive staff, great Yumcha & dinner is quite good as well. Sometimes it can be difficult to attract a waiter's attention when you want to pay the bill, but you can just walk up to the front counter; our 2nd fave for Yumcha after the Cultural Club.
