I like this place, is divided in few small rooms, no crowed so you can have more privacy. The chef cooks delicious food in front of you and our chef was super polite.
Everything tested very good. We have already made another booking there for next weekend!

Been here three times and it still has maintained their really good fine dining experience where both chefs and employees are nice, interactive and attentive. Not to mention, the food was incredibly good as they are all unique dishes making you filled to the stomach.

Winter menu:

Photo 2: Salmon and prawn 9/10 overall very tasty and nicely cooked

Photo 3: Lobster tail (upgraded) 8/10 not as tasty as the seafood dish but the meat quality is good

Photo 4: Wagyu roll 8/10 good combination with the two sauces provided

Photo 5: Banana Sapporo beer crepe 7/10 was a bit soggy but the taste was fine

Other dishes included:
- tender beef with sour cream and carrot (entree) 9/10
- hokkaido scallop 8.5/10
- Kingfish salad with secret sauce 9/10
- miso soup
- garlic rice

Food here is amazing and you get to see live cooking as well! The wagyu here is just beautiful. We had the Kobe Wagyu Deluxe and the tataki was seared to perfection. At 150gm , the steak was a challenge after the appetisers and soup but we made it! All in all a great meal. Highly recommended for the beef lover.

Would recommend the experience.

What a great experience to watch a professional chef cook right in front of you! I loved the theatrics of it all and the food was amazing. I will say that this dining experience is quite expensive and it's a shame that it may not be accessible to everyone. If you're lucky enough to get a voucher or some sort of discount though, it's definitely worth going.

Japanese cuisine with the touch of Australian produce. You get to sit around a live kitchen with the chef preparing the dishes.
The Rock is an excellent set menu if your preference is Chicken and Mushrooms. The mushroom soup prepares you for the excellent salad and the chicken main course.
A great experience and a must try.

The Rocks Teppanyaki, located in The Rocks Sydney, is a famous restaurant that has hosted the likes of actors including Angelina Jolie, which means for a few hours I dined like a celebrity. . But what makes this Teppanyaki so special is not the celebrity status but the lengths they go to to source the freshest produce for their menu and how they train their staff.

You won’t find any throwing food into the air here, nor will you won’t find any frozen seafood either, and every Teppanyaki chef goes through an intensive 3-month long course is an excellent communicator as well as cook.

Went as part of Groupon deals. Price is worth it for all the sets being served. The chef that is cooking the dishes is entertaining as well - a typical teppanyaki chef who does performance. Food flow is perfect - not too slow but not too fast. We ordered a raw-medium cook meat for our wagyu steak but getting a medium cook instead but that’s fine considering the taste is good.

Kobe Jones is where it’s at if you want a Japanese banquet, and if you want added theatre to the meal, visit their their restaurant located at the Rocks, “The Rocks Teppanyaki”. This is not what you may experience at an American style Teppanyaki, where you spend half your evening dodging food all night, or trying to catch rice in your bowl, this is traditional Teppanyaki at its finest, where the talented Chef, Yumi Maeyama, hailing from Sapporo, Hokkaido prepares the meal right in front of you at the grill with care and precision.

Located in a heritage building in The Rocks district of Sydney this restaurant is in an amazing location in Sydney. The building is renovated at clean with various private dining rooms all surrounding a teppanyaki grill. The menu is great. The staff are great and the food is fresh and full of the flavours you would expect. It did not have the theatrical value that you often get in a teppanyaki. No volcano onion or egg chopping in the fried rice. A lovely meal in a great location with a good wine list.

Sori prens, udah lama ane ngga kasi komen di sini. Maklum sibuk cari duit supaya anak bisa sekolah (jiahhh).. eniwei, pas ane bangun tidur tiba2 udah di kota gede banyak bulenya. Ane tanya kanan kiri rupanya namenye sidnei. Ane kan laper, kebetulan ada warung imut namanya tepanyaki. Kirain punyanya aki2 rupanya punya pak kobe jones. Ini resto setingannya di ruko kecil jaman dulu, rada lucu. Makanannya enak kok, ane makan set pecinta dagingnya. Wagyunya sih biasa tapi daging lokalnya enak banget, bikin nagihhhh... meleleh kayak es krim di mulut ane. Tapi ane kasih angka 3.5 aja soalnya buat tepanyaki tukang masaknya kurang gaya2 gitu deh. Udah ah tidur lagi.

Very good and great value for money when you come in with a voucher

The chef cooks really fast, polite and does a great job in ensuring your meal is cooked to perfection and puts on a nice show as well. However not as showy as other teppanyaki (they don't throw anything at you)

Best dishes are the number 1 special, the lobster and the garlic rice.

Steak is a bit chewy and the cut is a bit sub standard

Def recommend and revisit

Me and my girlfriend went here for the anniversary because my friend recommended to visit for the special day. We got seats and ordered two different menu. Chef came out from the kitchen, stood at big teppan table. And he gave us appetiser and preparing main menu with some cool performance. I did not know that there is fire show at the restaurant, it was sooooo cooooooool :))) me and my girlfriend were so happy with every dish. Honestly id been thinking these menu is quite expensive until i got main menu, but it totally worths. it It might be an unforgettable memory except the smell from downstairs bathroom. They should handle that smell.

Came using the groupon voucher ($69), not knowing what to expect. Was a bit disappointed that the chef does not throw the food at you like other teppanyakis however is always a fun experience watching your food getting cooked infront of you, especially when fire is used. Bit pricey however will fill you right up! The only real complaint was that the lobster was a bit overdone and steak was just medicore however everything else tasted great! Definitely would consider this for a special occasion

There was one year, I was invited to taste their menu and who could deny such an offer. The day that I went so happened to be on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival also known as the Moon Festival.  We were greeted instantly by Ji, the manager of Kobe Jones Teppanyaki - The Rocks. We were taken to our seats which was in private room next to the kitchen where we could see all our dishes coming out and then picked out a few drinks to start the night.

Starting off with the drinks, I ordered one called "Te Rak", which has a really sweet meaning behind it as it means Sweet Heart/Beloved in Thai. The recipe was made by Trent(General Manager) and inspired by the love of his life. The other drinks I tried that night were also very impressive and amazing in taste.
Moving onto the dishes, our Teppanyaki chef of the night was Yumi, who made small talk with us while cooking and introducing each of the 9 dish she made. Each dish was delicious in its' own way and was made right in front of our eyes too. My family and I had the most amazing night, all thannks to Trent, Ji & Yumi!

The food was spectacular, but we almost didn't get a table after our booking was confused with another location (and there was plenty of availability) and they couldn't produce an espresso martini despite being on the specialty cocktails menu. The Kobe beef was amazing, and we definitely did enjoy the evening.

We got a Groupon deal for an 11 course Teppanyaki dinner with lobster at Kobe Jones at The Rocks. We have been to many great Teppanyaki restaurants before, including Kobe Jones in Melbourne, so we had an idea what we were in for. It was good, not great...good, and if you are looking for an easy night with good food, you should enjoy it. If you are looking for a 'great' experience, you may be thinking somewhere else. Don't get me wrong, It wasn't bad, but a little lacklustre compared to the Melbourne version, which was a lot more inventive and original fusion.

This is one of my favourite Teppanyaki restaurant in Sydney. I had a good Teppanyaki experience. Atmosphere was nice, staffs were friendly and food was great!! When I dined in, I had a set menu.
Start with their signature dish, was very yummy!! The main dish, Wagyu beef was cooked exactly what I wanted!
I'll definitely come back there soon!

I have been to pretty much every teppanyaki there is in Australia and this is by far my favorite! the Kobe Jones sunset was beautiful as to was the sweet meaw my wife had (a butterscotch cocktail that was more like a frozen dessert YUMBO!) lighting was dim and the rooms are elegant and ever though you are sharing the table intimate and with a degree of privacy. really enjoyed the experience. 5 star great stuff!

Wow if I could end a review in one word that would be it! chef Yumi was fantastic! We took our 2 year old and to admit probably not the best setting for her she was a little afraid of the Flames, the whole meal took about 2.5 hours as we did a 10 course, great cocktails and the dessert on the teppanyaki was the perfect finish to the perfect night!!!

I went there with curiosity, to try something I've never tired before. Absolutely loved it!
Unique combination of traditional & modern Teppanyaki. It was just amazing!
Enjoying the food in its simplest form, personal chef cooking for you in a way you like your meat to be cooked. The chef Yumi was full of humour, felt like I was in a stand up comedy show. Never laughed so much before in a restaurant. If your after something new, I would defiantly recommend this restaurant :)

Classy and delicious food. Fine dining Japanese teppanyaki style. I was surprised by some of the review here.I found the Head Chef Yumi reserved but took pride in her cooking. It was genuine good quality Japanese. Bought ticket from groupon. The seafood salad is delicious with dressing, squid and prawn lightly seared. Scallop sashimi was so divine! I was not a fan of crab meat as it's too creamy but that's the only rich food. We had lobster tail that was so fresh but a tad overcooked. Palate cleanser with lime sorbet perfect for the main Wagyu beef (grade 9). Loves the garlic fried that is not overpowering. Miso soup is delicious too! We thought we will pass the dessert as I'm not a fan of crepe but it was so light and fluffy made with good dash of grand mernier served with vanilla ice cream and caramelised orange.

Overall, I think it was really good value for quality teppanyaki Japanese food. Fine dining.

Fantastic but buy online discount vouchers first!. We went here tonight for a family birthday dinner for 8 people. We had a private dining room and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and it was a great atmosphere and lots of fun. I will say that luckily we had discount vouchers, otherwise it would be way too expensive for the 11 course meal we had. We left feeling full and satisfied. Highly recommended but definitely find some online discount vouchers before you go!

Very cool. Front row seats to all the theatre of a teppanyaki hotplate, expertly sliced and diced with self effacing humility. No need to catch or juggle your food here, only sensational Kobe beef, delicate salmon and tasty teriyaki chicken. Elegantly done.

Best teppanyaki in Sydney. The wagyu beef and king prawns are truly the freshest and best teppanyaki in Sydney.

Also, they don't write "thank you very much" with salt on the teppanyaki grill after cooking for you.

Honestly such a fantastic experience. The food was really carefully put together and cooked to perfection making me savor each bite blissfully. The decor fit the restaurant with a slightly aged fancy feel - whereas where you'll be seated will feel simply modern. The chef was very open to questions and the staff were so warm and inviting. 9/10 the experience almost brought us to tears.

Had lunch here and it was really good. There was a lot of food, so be prepared. Most of the dishes were flamboyantly prepared with fire. I really liked the beef and the rice which was also cooked in beef fat.

Premium choice of restaurant for a teppanyaki show and meal with meat and seafood options available - a la carte or try a set course meal for something more special. The teppanyaki chefs are friendly and if you're keen you can interact with them more or just sit back and watch their culinary displays as they prepare your food in front of you complete with fire tricks. We tried a set menu including both fresh seafood and wagyu. All courses were delicious with the seafood paired well with butter and sauces, and the beef cooked perfectly - in particular the Japanese A5 (we ordered medium-rare) melts in your mouth like butter, and the "leftover" crisped up fat pieces of wagyu offered were a bonus hit of (fat is) flavour. The venue has multiple teppanyaki grills in separate rooms, though they tend to seat people together at the same teppanyaki table where they can.
