This is one of the older Lebanese places and they may not have modernised but they have kept their prices old-school. $7.50 for a felafel roll. The felafel started out crispy and rich but then they microwaved it, so not the best, but at this price, it’s amazing. Plus fantastic garlic sauce and chilli sauce.
Traditional Lebanese food!
Best falafel wraps I've ever had!
No bullshit asking for toppings they provide the good stuff!
So cheap too! $6.50!!
Only critique I would give is to re fry those fine ass falafels! I loooove crispy falafels!
But I'm sure if you were nice and asked politely they would!
This place is an institution. Falafel rolls have never been so cheap and yet so full of garlic and hummus. When all the froyos and stupid donut shops are gone, Rowda Ya Habibi will stand triumphantly - relicing back to a time before the bourgeoication of Newtown's gastronomy. Screw the yuppies, eat at Ya Habibies!
The food is pretty classic middle eastern fare, but Ya Habibi gets extra points for being wonderfully affordable- you can get a pretty hefty amount of food for less than $10, such as a massive falafel roll that's only $6.50. On top of that, the owners are lovely people and super helpful.
Phoned in advance, and was able to book the best seat in the house, the one near the window. Ordered the meat roll which was delicious, I shared it with a mate. Spoke to the family whilst eating my meal who were sitting around the restaurant sipping tea, delightful people. 10/10 would eat again
I’ve been walking past Rowda Ya Habibi for years and years but I’ve never ever eaten there. It looks a little dodgy if I’m honest, harsh lighting and your standard laminate tables and big clunky chairs from your nanna's house. The food is all displayed in

Rowda Ya Habibi is no doubt one of the best Lebanese restaurants in Sydney. Excellent value aside, the food here is always freshly cooked, tasty and served in copious quantities. The cushion room upstairs makes it a great venue for relaxed group feeds and

Rowda Ya Habibi is a low key gem of a Lebanese joint in Newtown. I've been walking past Rowda Ya Habibi for fifteen years and never stepped inside. I have no idea why, it looks right up my alley: it's low rent, family run, and aging. I guess I thought it
Great for a quick meal!. Had a quick dinner here as we were in a rush. We had falafels, kafta and omelette. All of which were delicious. The service is good too. This place is located in Newtown's vibrant King st. I recommend this place to all.
I have been here several times now, the food is always amazing, the staff are lovely, and the prices are great. Would have to be my favourite place to eat in Newtown.
Had a party here last month with 30 people - They have a large room in the back. We have often been to friends gatherings here and they have always been great - Our party was no exception. The food is Lebanese style and we ordered a variety of set menus. The food was excellent as usual and the staff very friendly and helpful. The price is good value. Would definitely recommend - especially for gatherings.
Excellent take away falafel. Big servings and reasonably priced. Their semolina honey cake and Turkish Delight are delicious. If you want to sit down they have a room out the back too with a larger dine-in menu. A casual place with great food and the hostess/owner is one of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet!
Excellent Lebanese, and very reasonable prices. Always super friendly and efficient service. The rolls are quite good, but its the banquets that are the pick. Go here with a big group on a weekend, stuff yourself silly, and have a wiggle with the belly dancer. Highly recommend.
You don't need too many words to rate this gem. Outstanding! Fabulous owners who know how to serve good food and give great service. No wonder they have lasted the distance with over 40 years in the industry. God bless.
I've been buying their shawarma and kafta kebabs since Jesus was a boy. Best value in Newtown. Their rolls weigh significantly more than other kebab places in the area (I did the experiments: science!), and are just so yummy. Their baklava is made especially, and to die for
Great option for Lebanese food on King Street. Awesome range, and the owner was very friendly and gave complementary sides and bread. Plenty of room at lunchtime for a large group of friends. Food was all very tasty and the prices very affordable.
First Impression: May look simple from the front, but the wonderfully warm welcome from owner / chef will keep you coming back alone.
Look & Feel: The old lady will make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. There is restaurant style seating at the rear if you intend to stay for a nice sit-down meal or group event (with a separate menu).
Quality & Taste: Amazing. Fresh ingredients, home-made and full of authentic impactful flavours. Opt for the extras and sides, they are all fantastic and enhance the meal so much. Desserts are a treat as well.
Empty Wallet: You'll walk away with plenty of change, no matter how greedy you are. Get the basic wrap ($5.50 - $6.50) but don't skimp on the bonuses (eggplant, fried califlower, vine leaves etc for $1 - $2). Desserts are equally good value (baklava $2/ large piece).
Must Have: Add the eggplant, fried cauliflower (or both!) to the falafel wrap for an amazing vegetarian meal which would satisfy anyone's tastes and still comes in well under $10.
