I've been eating in this restaurant almost 4 years. That's one of the best restaurant in city. The price are suitable and big portion. never complain about any food. the chef who cooked the food are authentic, experience, tasty. Will never give up to go there and strongly recommended.

Sensational. Well priced. Excellent service. Very tasty. The salty fish and chicken fried rice is truly authentic.

Casual dining atmosphere with competitive pricing. Most of the dish with rice are only 10.5 to 12 dollars. Fast service, food was served generally within 10mins. Really good portion size as well. We ordered black bean beef, sweet sour pork, mapo tofu, stewed beef with rice and spicy sour potato. The stewed beef is really tender.

I had the chicken and veggie sir fry with Chinese mushrooms. The amazing thing about this restaurant is that they made the takeaway in about 5 minutes. Food was great, price is mid-range and fair for the quality of their ingredients.

A little hole in the wall, but this place is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in Sydney. Very competitive prices, and some pretty decent food if you are a fan of south Chinese cooking. I've tried a variety of their dishes and they seem to always have them out within 5 minutes of me ordering it so I have no idea how they do it. Pictured is the Mapo Tofu (it's not the spicy kind).

Service was fast, prices are good. Not in line with the best Laksa in Sydney, but perfectly serviceable for the price. Broth was a little thin and watery but there was no shortage of toppings and it was practically overflowing with bbq pork.

Basic Aussie bogan Chinese food. Cheap, quick, loads of MSG Good for a quick cheap feed

Golden fang. What a bossy name! In Chinese it is actually translates into big pleasure or something🙄. I gotta admit I would never step in there in a million years given how poor their ambient is. <br/><br/>But the dishes were awesome! The flavors are all there and they actually managed to make them taste lite at the same time. It was more and more delicious the more we eat it. Eggplant pot was slightly different to what I normally have in other places but it was a good difference, lite taste that lasts. The omelette was golden! Tender! And prawns in there were plentiful and big! The hostess gave us a plate of complementary orange which was very sweet! Why? Xihuahua đŸ¶ has shining personality. Will go back for the black bean sauce fish.

Golden Fang! GuoriumđŸ§Ș<br/><br/>I tried their lunch set menu two year ago but at that time, I wasn’t really impressed. But today, I dried their dishes, which are really yummy, totally beyond my expectation! <br/><br/>Prawn đŸ€ Omelette 4.5/5<br/>-0.5 is for the unevenly salt stirring. A little bit salty at one part but for the rest, it’s okay. <br/><br/>Sour and sweet eggplant 🍆 4/5 <br/>It’s a light meal and it goes along well with rice. <br/><br/>Quite plentiful and the lady who looks like a boss serves us a free after meal fruit 🍊 ! How nice of her! And she is really friendly! She was super happy when she saw us finish all the food! (So easy for kitchen to clean?! Lol)

3.5/5. The sweet and sour pork was pretty decent with a nicely balanced sauce (not too sweet and not too sour). My only issue was with the batter itself; it was a little on the heavy side. Some mouthfuls consisted mostly of batter, which was unfortunate. But hey, it was $10 for a fairly nice meal which was very filling. Also ordered the stewed beef brisket with rice. It was tasty enough but it could’ve done without the heavy oyster sauce because the beef itself was flavoursome enough.

One of the good classic chinese places, great to come here for some old school Chinese when in the area. They do the classic Cantonese dishes.Enjoyed their honey chicken, fried rice and good for big families and groups.

Food were not bad here. And the price is not that high,so many Chinese students from usyd will eat here.I think their signature dish is Oil Source chicken with rice.Maybe this name, can't remember clearly. The chicken was juicy and tender, not too many fat but texture was rich. The other dish was so so.

Close to USYD and price is extremely reasonable. This is my most often visited restaurants when I studied at USYD, loads of memory about it. There was one time that I failed a assignment and I didn't have any appetite to eat. And I just ran into this place and ordered a fried noodle , and that noodle tasted like home :(

Golden Fang is probably one stall that tastes closest to the dai pai dang in Hong Kong, Zi Char in Singapore and economic rice shops in Asia. The sweet and sour pork is magnificent and it tastes exactly like what you get in Singapore, Hong Kong or Malaysia. Very popular with students too

everything there taste like leftovers, waiters are rude, Just yelling at people and force you to sit with other people while there are still plenty of empty tables around!

Average food, huge portion, cheap price, overall a nice place for a quick meal without too much damage. Their roast duck/pork dishes were alright; but I didn't like the lemon chicken as it was mind boggling sweet, made me wondering if it was meant to be a dessert.

I find it difficult to comprehend how anyone could give this place a bad review. The food is cheap, tasty and comes in generous portions. Highlights are the BBQ pork and lemon chicken. Other dishes I often order are the steamed pork dumplings, garlic spinach, beef omelette and the pan fried pork buns.

Really really bad. The landlady is stupid and made me sick. Never go this restaurant. The service is tooooooooooooooo poor. The landlady said some acidulous words maybe she need more education and go to primary school to learn politeness.

We waited for 2 hours for our food only to find out that they had not received our order. This was despite 3 phone calls where we were assured our food was on the way. The person we spoke to had no idea whether our order had been received or not but kept us waiting nevertheless. After the third phone call he assured us he was going to call the driver and get back to us. We waited an additional 30 minutes before ringing back AGAIN, only to find that our order had bot been received. Hopeless. We will never order here again!

Disappointing. In brief, the quality and value of dishes were both poor, the service was distasteful, and the ambience of the place was nonexistent.<br/><br/>We arrived at Golden Fang for lunch, only to be turfed to a corner where perhaps more attentive waiters and waitresses might have paid some attention. Bit by bit, we were offered tea, utensils (but no chopsticks or tissues), and a menu. Only after we had ordered and did our order arrive did we receive chopsticks.<br/><br/>The less said about the food, the better. However, suffice it to say that we weren't happy that our dishes were substantially more costly than similar, if not also better dishes elsewhere. The food tasted pretty bad, with the most shocking, at least to our friends from Shandong, being the Shandong chicken.<br/><br/>Last but not least, the service was so here and there. In addition to the chopsticks slip up, the waitstaff could not even wait until we had finished to remove our dishes or to clean the table and the attitude from the cashier lady was disappointing. It was as though we had troubled the cashier lady and she was going completely out of her way. She was fiercely push in getting us to buy take-away boxes, frustrating in her inability to understand our order in English and in Chinese, and rude in her questioning why we had gotten up to order (is because we were in a corner in the other room good enough?) and her making all sorts of unpleasant comments as soon as we had ordered and paid our bill.<br/><br/>In light of this, we would be hesitant to recommend dining out at Golden Fang to any of our friends. If you want Chinese food, go to some places in Chinatown, Ashfield or other suburbs. If you want Malaysian (which Golden Fang doesn't seem to do well at all), there is the CBD or the suburbs.

2 hours and counting.... I would let you know how the food is at Golden Fang, but it hasn't arrived yet after 2 hours, when I called after an hour and asked how long it would be, they said "as soon as possible" then proceeded to screen my calls. <br/><br/>I would recommend Golden Fang to people who would like to eat in several hours.

I’ve been to this place many times. It’s got great Chinese food. This time, my friend I ordered the salt and pepper chilli tofu. This is one of my favourite dishes you really can’t go wrong with salt & pepper chilli tofu. I asked if I could have brown rice and was told I could. When the dish arrived it came with white rice. I asked could I have brown rice and was told, “Yes. Brown rice” I was a little confused and asked, “Is this brown rice it looks like white rice” and was told again “Yes. Brown rice” I was puzzled and thought that there’s a new brown rice on the market that looks like white rice. The waitress must have noticed my puzzled look and went to get the menu. She opened the menu and pointed at “Boiled rice” and said “Brown rice”. I realised then there was a language barrier. “Oh. Boiled rice, ok no worries” I found it quite amusing. The place gets rather busy and loud. The food is pretty great. I couldn’t complain about the salt & pepper chilli tofu it was fresh, soft and ta

Golden Fang is a cheap and cheerful Chinese Malaysian restaurant that serves up huge meals for very little coin. It's situated on an uber-busy, noisy and grimy stretch of City Road and if you didn't know what joy lies within you'd probably pass right by on your way to Broadway Shopping Center. And that would be a mistake.

We hadn't been to Golden Fang for years until one of our readers suggested we try their lemongrass pork chop and cumin lamb. So we did. And went back twice.

NUM NUM NUM!!!!. I LOVE this place, i use to work near it and had serious issues with eating there too much! <br/>MUST HAVE = S&P squid! <br/>EAT IT.<br/><br/>cheap and delicious.

Terrible. Atrocious service. The chef and staff talk about people in Cantonese. My cousin once saw them take half finished soup from tables and pour them back into the pot! There are many, many better options for cheap and cheerful Chinese food around that area.

Massive portion with cheap price. The food is really good, and they serve everything quickly. My favourite is sweet and sour pork. Anyway, they give free soup and fruits as well. I love this restaurant!

The Fang - A local fave. Having lived in the area for a number of months, this place never enticed me over the other options available. But how wrong was I! Look past the shabby shopfront and you'll be pleasantly surprised.<br/>"The Fang" offers a stack of different Chinese & Malaysian dishes, so much so they have two menus. Make sure you grab a 'blue' menu as well as the white one when you dine in. <br/>Quick, massive serves, friendly service and cheap as chips.<br/>Fave dishes so far are the Salt & Pepper Bean Curd and any of the Soups. <br/>Amazing wontons!<br/>Do yourself a favour and get amongst it!

Cheap. Food portions are massive and cheap. The plates was disturbing and needed changing. The plastic plates to serve the dishes were caked in grim. Free soup and fruit if you come in a party of four or just free soup if you come alone.

Not a good first impression from the Fang. My boyfriend and I decided to see if there were any vegetarian options at the Golden Fang, as we're just down the road, and it would be handy to have some good braised eggplant or vegie dumplings around the corner. The menu doesn't really offer much for us vegetarians though, only mixed vegetable noodles, or salt and pepper tofu really. I have had great vegetarian meals at cheap 'no frills' chinese restaurants in China Town, but the Golden Fang could not deliver anything close. I chose the mixed vegetables with fried noodles, and my boyfriend chose the same. Mine was rice noodles, his were egg noodles. The meals were completely tasteless, and covered in this gross clear glossy stuff that had no flavour. Actually perhaps there was a slight flavour, something close to old damp socks. I couldn't stomach it, but my boyfriend was very hungry and didn't want to waste his so he ate it. At the end of the meal, one of the staff asked if I wanted a takeaway container for the food left on my plate, so I told her I didn't like it, and that it was very bland, no flavour etc. She just said, 'oh ok' and walked away. She couldn't have cared less. The staff were rude the whole time, which is fine at any other 'no frills' chinese restaurant, because usually the food is worth it, but this was not. I left feeling hungry, grossed out, and offended. Never ever going back.

Golden Fang is a dodgy (in a no frills way) Chinese restaurant with great food. It's surprising how good it is for the price you pay. Lunch menu different from dinner, but they won't kick up a fuss if you order outside of these hours. Roast duck and stir fried noodles for $10; great dishes to share between two or three ppl around the $15 mark. Cheep and cheerful.

Great little place. The Fang is a great little local restaurant that deserves its troop of loyal customers - and it's no coincidence that many of those are Chinese. The place has a big menu of favourites from north, central and southern China. So far I've tried a few of the classic Sichuan dishes - ma po tofu, eggplant with ground beef and spicy sauce (which they call "fish sauce" but has nothing to do with fish) and green beans with chili and ground beef. All of them are excellent in the unpretentious way that is the Fang's trademark, and the portions are huge. Just one dish will disappoint: don't try their laksa ... if that's what you're after go to the Kopitiam Cafe or the Malacca Straits, or the Malaya Chinese Take Away on Hunter St, which is a bit further but has a truly legendary laksa. At the Fang, stick to the food of the Chinese mainland and you can't go wrong.

Tasty and affordable. Free soup and delicious Shandong chicken that always go down well with my Taiwanese friends. A great choice for takeaways as well.

Danno. One of the few Chinese restaurants that makes me feel like I am back in Bejing. cheap food with massive servings. Crispy chicken with ginger and shallots.......o my god! once again I can't comment on any other dishes as I cant stop ordering this one!!!
