New management from July. This place is the best Japanese restaurant in the Inner West. Super friendly, interesting menu, great food and service and Clark is the most friendly host you will meet. Been here twice in 2 weeks and looking forward to my next visit.
Always felt super happy and satisfied after coming here for a lovely meal. Great quality food for a reasonable price that leaves you full and satisfied. Great quality of service! Would recommend their rolls, and their salmon dishes for salmon lovers.
Located up the top end of Glebe Point Rd, Goen is a cute little restaurant which looks more like a takeout joint at first glance, but in reality, they have ample space with tables out front, in the back balcony, courtyard and upstairs. They serve a fairly extensive menu but I actually can’t comment on that because I’ve only ever ordered from their lunch menu. Well, at least I can tell you the lunch menu is awesomeness
THE FOOD WERE AMAZING!! Lo.... THE FOOD WERE AMAZING!!
Loved everything about them. Wagyu was cooked amazingly, the crab fry was delicious, gyoza was just fried exceptionally, unagi don just perfect, sashimis were absolutely fresh, tofus were beatiful inside and out, hand roll had the rght amount of rice, delicious ramen and just the best cherry green tea.
I loved the way they sent the food in intervals (unlike other restaurants just shoving all the foods in your face). This made us savour it more , and not get bored with them.
Thank you for the lovely foods GOEN. Will definitely go back!!
Consistently good!. This place has been the source of my weekly sushi dose for the past year. They always deliver great sushi with a good amount of salmon and avocado. The ramen and don always delicious!
This is the best Japanese I've had in Sydney. The soft shell crab is phenom, as was everything else!! We'll be back again & again & again!!!
Tasty, fresh and presented well. Yum yum yum.
A nice spot of lunch but a bit slow on service considering the place was almost empty.
On thursday evening i came this restaurant with my friends. We had some entrees, sushies and bento boxes. Fish was so fresh n gyoza was so delicious. Outside tables on upstairs so cozy n we can see whole street there. I might go there again this weekend with my parents.
The atmosphere upstairs on the balcony on a cool evening night is absolutely amazing. The miso ramen was a little salty but still not bad, and the mini salmon sushi rolls were delicious (though I wouldn't recommend eating them with the soy sauce - it was, like the ramen, a tad too salty). The sesame icecream was really yummy but it looked a bit cheap since it came frozen in a packaged tub. Free wifi is decent and a nice bonus. Overall, lovely decor and atmosphere, and the food is not bad. Wouldn't mind coming back, but there are better Japanese restaurants out there.
Friendly service, great recommendations given by the manager who served us wonderfully. Super fresh and tasty salmon - tried the Atlantic roll and would recommend it to salmon lovers. The tempura was fried wonderfully and is full of flavor! Value for money for great quality food! Would recommend to Japanese food lovers!
Went there friday night 22nd July and we had a great time for my sisters 33rd bday. The service was great and the food was delicious. Make sure you get the kingfish entree cooked in oil thinly sliced. Melted in my mouth! Will be back

We were frequenting Goen even before the recent change in management. The service and the food quality have definitely improved. This is reflective in the significant price differences too. Clark is friendly and professional.
The service was so friendly and helped to create a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and generously proportioned - try the salmon teriyaki! New management has really lifted this place :)
Sushi is good value for money and the staff is friendly. Upstairs terrace and outside terrace downstairs are nice, but don't expect too much of the decor inside. Would definitely come here again!
