So, the Alta Building on Goulburn Street at Riley Street was finished at the end of 2011. Which means I’ve seen 7 or 8 years of restaurants and cafes come and go at the ground level. There was Pachamama House, a Peruvian-Japanese place. There was Pisco Pisco, which I assumed was a rename from the same owners. Could there have been Jazz City, a foray into American BBQ? MO Surry Hills, which was always a popular and buzzy cafe around the corner moved into this space and then disappeared not much later. My sense is that it’s one of those cursed locations. Possibly the strange shape of it makes it hard to run. Certainly the large outdoor area should make it inviting, but no one’s ever managed to do it. I feel sad for anyone there.
Amazing vanue, service is A grade, food is always on point and its cheap. I lost count how many time i have gone with a group or friends here and it's never disappointed. I recommend this place to everyone
This is great place to have meal and drink.i got the delicious southern chicken burger and hot coffee drink.the customer service is really nice and professional. You must try the red velvet and panna cotta dessert
i tried the graziers rump and its really good , had a great gravy and really great coffee . the place is so cozy and the services is really friendly and i will definitely coming back

Wonderful eggs benedict done! Beautiful in aesthetics and full of flavours. Latte was perfectly done. Smooth and rich. Warm and friendly staff as well. Full marks for breakfast place.
Menu says can’t change things so can’t even order something with eggs and change them to something else.
Avocado toast is $10 - add tomato for $4… yet on the menu there is “smashy avocados” for $16… and it comes with so much more stuff… but not allowed to swap eggs and stuff for vegan stuff like vegetables :/
Cost of coffee ($7-$8), $1 more expensive and not as tasty as other nearby coffees.
Overall though it is good and fast. :)
Wonderful experience. Not over priced, the staff are friendly as. Flat white was spot on. The smashed avo was perfect.
A colleague and I went in Sunday morning for the first time. We loved the place so much went back Monday and and the cook remembered our order from the day before. Not many places have that kind of experience. Such friendly people. This will be my go to for my morning coffee and smashed avo while visiting SYD.

The Pelican Hills is a lovely, well located cafe. The cook, and service are very friendly and accommodating. Sit indoors or choose outdoors, well protected from wind, or rain.

New cafe which will keep up with the competition. Most importantly, coffee is great. Wait staff very friendly and prices are very reasonable. Ingredients are fresh and meals were great. Will definitely be back.
Amazing food. The staff is very friendly. The coffee is nice and organic taste. The southern chicken burger is very tasty. Delicious and affordable price with good portion. It is very recommended for you guys! The panna cotta dessert is very creamy and good balance of sweet and caramel taste. Perfect for couple to have nice dinner.
