Quick stop at Urban Paddock for a couple coffees. The place is very spacious. They try to have a country feel but, because of the size, it feels very modern. The garden area is nice on a hot day.
Campos Coffee is served and very standard to their style. The chocolate coated coffee bean is a very nice touch to their have-here option.
The staff are friendly, the service is quick and there's no pressure to move on. They brought out water for our table of 2 after 30 minutes of sitting around. Will have to try the food next time.
In context compared to the nearby Darling Park food court cafes, Urban Paddock is OK in the mornings. For the extra cost, you get to sit at a proper table & have a relaxed chat with your breakfast companions. I avoid the place at lunchtime & after work, when it's full of the towers' braying accountants & consultants & finance types.
Last visit I had a nicely cooked & presented vegetarian omelette, huge (probably 3 eggs) with spinach, mushrooms & cheese, which meant I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day. My friend had porridge - it's amusing to see how high cafes think they can get away with charging for porridge just by sprinkling it with all sorts of random chopped stuff.
My only gripe with the breakfasts here is that they have five types of sourdough toast but no non-sourdough! I dislike sourdough & they lose a lot of my breakfast custom just by not offering a normal multi-grain toast.
THEY HAVE ALMOND MILK FOR YOU PICKY COFFEE LOVERS. Urban Paddock is a great cafe inside the PWC Towers filled with office workers. I head to Urban Paddock after a recommendation from a work colleague. I head here for a breakfast. It's only open on weekdays so if you work nearby in Darling Quarter or Darling Harbour then this might be a great venue for a work breakfast. Urban Paddock has an outside area and an inside area; it's quite relaxing.
Gnocchi ragout was pretty good. A bit peppery. Would have preferred pan fried gnocchi because the gnocchi was a bit soft in the ragout.
Would probably order again đź‘Ť
Decent breakfast, with great service. The eggs tend to be a bit overdone and not runny. The coffee is decent, neither burnt not bitter, but the cup could be bigger
This is a very welcoming place, where you are always greeted with a friendly smile. The food and atmosphere is fantastic and they make a great coffee. They also are licenced with some great local and imported wines.
They have happy hour on Thursdays and Friday nights from 4-6, which is very convenient after work. Their night tapas menu is very tasty for something to nibble on with your drink.
They are also my go to catering company, because they always try to accommodate, even last minute catering they always to their best.
A great all round place to dine.
