For those who are not sure what they feel like eating, this satisfies all! Yummy rice bowls and quick service. Highly recommend!
Tried the regular ontama beef bowl, calamari, and chicken skewer. For me, the regular size is big enough already and the price is reasonably cheap. With the portion of beef and rice, I feel like it’s really worth it. I mixed the rice bowl altogether, it tasted very creamy and the beef was in every bite! Very generous.
The calamari wasn’t as crunchy as they were cooked but it was pretty nice and they really go well with the spicy mayo.
The chicken skewer was very tasty as well.
Rice Workshop is just next door to my work and it’s definitely my go to when when I forget my lunch from home. I always go for the tofu curry or the tempura prawn udon. The food is always fresh, the service quick and the food is reasonably priced. #riceworkshop
I eat a lot of ice cream in normal life, but, my ice cream consumption increases pretty dramatically, even for me, when I'm in Sydney. My breakfast usually includes gelato (its not my fault its part of the buffet!), lunch concludes with ice cream novelties from the office ice cream freezer, and evenings are filled with adventures seeking out more ice cream.
Rice Workshop is a popular Japanese eatery situated in the Westfield Sydney food court. There’s always a queue, however the food is prepared quickly so you don’t have to wait long. They have a great selection of rice meals as well as snacks for you to choose from at affordable prices.

Rice Workshop is a Japanese fast food restaurant that serves generous delicious food at an affordable price. Service is always quick and efficient which is perfect during a crazy lunch rush and you’re absolutely starving. I think I’ve tried almost tried everything on their menu (this says a lot!). My go-to order is the chicken katsu curry rice and the ontama teriyaki chicken rice. Both dishes is always perfectly cooked and flavoured. I’m surprised as to how consistent each dish is every time I order regardless, of how busy they get.
They also serve a variety of smaller snacks which is perfect for when you’re after a lighter meal. However, they often do run out by the end of the day so you can’t order them! I always get the yakitori sticks which never disappoints. They also have matcha and black sesame soft serve that I have yet to try!
110% would RECOMMEND to everyone looking for a quick delicious meal! Be sure to always come here before 12:30pm to avoid the crazy lunch rush.
Amazing for the price! REALLY good udon, starting from about $5! Staff were super friendly and kind. Didn’t have matcha soft serve available when I went which is a shame but will definitely be back for more udon and intend to try it-! Good combo deals too.
Great place to get a quick bite on the way home. Decent food for the price at around 11 dollars for a big bowl of rice. Would recommend. Way better than going to the food court for the same price.
Rice Workshop has delicious rice bowls and noodle bowls. They don’t just sit in the food warmer at the front but they seem to be already prepared in their kitchen and set in proper warmers. This ensures the food still tastes great and you get your food really quickly for food in a food court. All the large rice or noodle bowls are about $10.90 while regular is $8.90. They have cheap soft serves like their black sesame cone for only $2.50. * = recommended.

Large teriyaki chicken udon - didn’t have that authentic teriyaki flavour and there wasn’t much udon.
Large teriyaki rice bowl - again didn’t like the teriyaki chicken, lots of rice & had salad which was nice.
*Large beef curry - lots of beef and rice which was good, recommend their curry rice bowls.
*Black sesame cone - great tasting black sesame soft serve for only $2.50
Large kimchi beef rice bowl - great rice bowl if you wanted a little spice.
I got the chicken katsu curry and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked really nicely and there was free Japanese mayo available so I appreciated that
I don’t know why I have never noticed this rice 🍚 shop but it’s now my go to during work days. I love the salmon rice bowl and the beef rice bowl, with a miso soup that’s packed with flavour. There’s not much to fault and I think for Westfield food court the price is decent. Highly recommend it!

Good lunch takeaway food for city workers. AUD $10 gets you a bowl of rice with a dish, quite cheap in the city these days! Food tastes good. Lunch time can be hectic in this place with very long queue ordering the food. Then you don't have much space to stand while waiting for the food. So try get there early if you can, before 12:15pm is ok. If the business owner is reading this, I would recommend better carry bags for takeaway customers. Paper bags are great to the environment, but with no handles, the carrying is painful when you ordered a number of bowls for yourself and colleagues.
Absolutely delicious! Love my teriyaki grilled salmon don to the moon and back.
I like the interesting way they prepare the chicken in the curry udon, gave me a little wow factor on the first bite!
Really great food and low price! Love it! Almost eat it all the time when I come to Westfield!
