I’ve been here couple of times since first discovered this place a month ago.
- Chicken rice (with roast chicken) is very good, the chicken is crispy and full of flavour, the rice is fragrance.
- Har Mee (prawn noodle) the taste is proper, but it is more spicy than other restaurants in Syd. if you like spicy you’ll like it
- Char Mee it’s got the “wok hei” taste GOODD
- Hokkien Noodle, this does not have the original hokkien noodle taste, it taste different but still good
*** i don’t have all the above food photos as i got too excited when the food came and forgot to take photos

It's the noodles that are the pick of Penang Hawker, Malaysian Chinese in Campsie. The char and smoke of the famous food town comes through most vividly in their fried kuey teow, chuck in a duck egg for extra googie goodness. Penang Hawker has been dishing out Malaysian Chinese for a while now. The shop has undergone a couple of changes, with a hot food bar installed at the front so you can takeaway pre-prepared meals. It's a cramped space where long tables are shared between unrelated diners, causing pangs of food envy when you see what other people have ordered. Just makes you want to reach across and try a little bit. It can get busy and buzzy, something that always adds to the pleasure of dining.
Penang Hawker has become my family's favourite and local Malaysian food joint! I've been here multiple times and can confirm that the food is consistently fresh, flavourful and delicious. Never too oily, never too salty, never too bland. Some favourites that I recommend are the sweet sauce chee cheong fun, hainanese chicken rice, fried koay teow, and beef rendang. The prices are extremely affordable and the service is very welcoming and friendly!
