Pino Espresso bar is a great, almost hole-in-the-wall coffee shop/cafe located next to the Waterloo ALDI on the corner of Danks & Bourke. It also happens to be my local work coffee shop as my office is directly upstairs from it. Having a good coffee shop near your workplace is essential and Pino is my favourite out of the handful dotted within walking distance.

Pino uses Campos coffee, and with Campos comes high quality and even higher expectations. In the year I've worked in Waterloo now, I've never had a bad coffee at Pinos. Campos coffees sometimes be a little strong and bitter but they've always made my coffee perfectly smooth no matter which barista I get. Always get a perfect coffee.

Despite being small, they're terrific value and have a great all-day combo meals going. For $9 eat in, or T/A, you can get a regular coffee and either a B&E roll, smashed avocado toast with feta, a loaded bagel, or a ham & cheese croissant. I usually go for the B&E roll or Smashed Avo toast. 2 slices of extremely crunchy sourdough with a generous helping of fresh avocado sprinkled with Feta. They provide a thin wedge of lime/lemon too which gives a simple classic a wonderful acidic kick. Perfect for a quick, easy and cheap brekkie either on-the-run or 5 minutes before work.

Great coffee, great service, great cafe.

A really good casual eats experience with friends. They have an extensive breakfast menu as well as a few brunch items, all at really cheap prices.
