🅿️If you drive from Derrimut Rd or parked on Derrimut Rd side of the hotel, ignore the sign of Entry, because it is currently closed. Enter the hotel at the front of the building to check in ✅ Hotel520 has large dining area and playground for children. There was live band 🎤 and he sang good. Service was excellent ☆5 The friendly staff was all attentive. We were a medium sized group around 15 adults and all meals came at the same time. The main served 2 good size of meat or fish. Garlic bread had fresh garlic flavour & cheesy crust☆5 Avocado chicken risotto was light creamy taste and rice was cooked soft to my liking😋 Good portion to share with others. ☆4 The fish on special had no seasoning but the tartar sauce was good.☆2 Lemon lime bitter needs more bitter and less cordial. It was syrupy and too sweet in the small tall glass.☆2 It was a nice meeting spot.

Beautiful venue and lovely staff, all of who are very welcoming and accommodating. Had my daughters 18th in the main function room, and although only a small crowd, Leoni ensured she still had a beautiful set up. Also had my other daughters 19th family dinner in the lounge, and again a beautiful set up and food was great at both functions. Highly recommend this venue.

Had dinner booked for 25 people for my wife's birthday. Food was good however the service was fantastic. The bar staff and wait staff were all super friendly and willing to help always with a smile. Best customer service I've experienced in quite a while

Great farewell with Johnnie and Brian congratulations on your retirement.

This is a big relatively recently built place with lots of parking and a large dining area with a pleasant modern ambience. The meals are great and the staff very helpful. As a coeliac, I have to be careful. The menu is clearly marked GF for the gluten free items but the lady who took my order checked with the kitchen to make sure there'd be no gluten. The extra mile! Thank you. I very much enjoyed the calamari and the steak.

The food is actually amazing. One of the best barramundi I’ve had. Fridays are fun with music and dancing. My mum loves it here.

Meal was terrible and management didn't assist. Not only did they charge me for a meal that wasn't edible they charged me for the gravy that I ordered instead of sending it back and waiting another hour (with a young child). I tried not to be diff6but it just wasn't edible, so ridiculously dry. Very disappointed..

Really good food

This was a disaster the chicken was over cooked burnt & dry. With mozzarella cheese smothered all over it to musk the lack of care in the kitchen. There doesn’t seem to be any care in the kitchen at all. Please stay clear of this place

Unfortunately staff weren’t willing to help when it came to my dietary requirements. I simply asked if I could swap some leeks to another vegetable (I can’t eat leeks) and the waitress simply refused. I chose that dish because there is a lot I can’t eat, but she really wasn’t willing to help. Then when I went to order my chicken Caesar (as she wouldn’t let me change the salmon dish) without croutons and dressing because I’m gluten/dairy intolerant it seemed to annoy and shock her? <br/>This is 2018 and I’m sure there are many of people in a similar boat to me, so maybe advise the staff to be more willing to help or offer options to those who can’t just eat anything off the menu.

After seeing all the reviews I wasn’t expecting much but I have to say our meals were good. For entree we got the Turkish bread with dips, rump skewers and chicken wings. I wasn’t a fan of the chicken wings but the dips bread and the rump steak were great. More bread would have been nice.<br/>For mains We got the lamb gyros, mixed grill and the kids chicken nuggets.<br/>The chips weren’t very nice but the meats were cooked well and they had a fabulous taste.<br/>The lamb gyros melted in my mouth a little flavour to the salad would have been nice.<br/>Food wise it was just the chips that didn’t taste great they were over cooked and dry and tasted like they sat there for a while.<br/>The playground left little to be desired not somewhere my kid wants to go again compared to other playgrounds at other places.

We went there for dinner on Saturday night. The service was slow and the food was very average. We had chicken Parma- it was huge and totally over cooked. Could hardly get my knife through mine. Also struck BONE in it - will not be going back

This place is such a disappointment. Came here tonight to find out its steak night and it was $40 for a eye fillet . I thought the whole point of a steak night for cheap steak? Anyway didn’t order it cos I thought it was a bit ridiculous especially for a place like this. Squires loft isn’t that more expensive and it’s a quality place to eat. The service is quite poor. The girl took so long to take our order and for the food to come out that was so average and not cooked to how I had asked! I wouldn’t bother coming here, drive 10 minutes more down the road for the plaza to eat better food.

My surprise 40th birthday party was held in the Aurora Room at Hotel 520 on Saturday night. The bar staff, waitresses and Julie went above and beyond with their service. The room looked great, the food was delicious and the event went off without a hitch. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to hold a party or an event at Hotel 520.

Attended a seminar there and the food was exquisite. Each part of the meal had me savoring the taste and wondering what would be next. As a confessed sweet tooth the blueberry mini pavlova topped off the night. The staff were friendly and went to the next level to ensure it was an enjoyable experience.

They are shifty, very shifty<br/>There is a tuesday deal, buy one meal get the second free, but somehow they don't do that, the deal is pay for the most expensive meals.<br/>We ordered 2 meals $40 each and 2 meals $25 each, buy they charged us $80 for the 2 expensive meals,<br/>We ended up breaking our cards leaving them on their table an we went out for no coming back again

Just wanted to express what a fantastic venue Hotel 520 has become.  Attended a wedding function there 2 weeks ago and the service, food and set up of the room was exceptional.  The staff where very friendly and the food and beverage package where of quality and definitely value for money.   The Event Team really are experienced in showcasing their venue and also your event.  I have been to a few receptions around this area over the past 18 mths but Hotel 520 definitely has been the best and I would recommend this venue for any function.   I attended again tonight in the Bistro and the food and service was excellent.  Hotel 520 definitely shows that we still have a Venue in our area with Class, great atmosphere, very friendly staff and overall a very thoroughly enjoyable experience.  Great to see that they are expanding on bringing real entertainment to this dying suburb of Werribee and surrounds which is definitely worth a visit.  Would highly recommend this Venue for any function or just a family Dinner in their Bistro or Private function rooms as it has become the best I believe within out suburbs..  Will definitely be back!

Was worried with the low review but have to say I didn't see why they are so low. We had a large group and everyone loved the meals. I loved the potato wrapped prawns and seafood linguine, thought they were delicious. The service was excellent, thanks to our lovely waitress Madyson who was friendly, helpful and always there when needed. Would definitely go back.

CRap Crap Crap. Sooo bad - avoid at all costs. Service was average, food was tough, overcooked, no flavour. Feels like eating in a big airplane hanger - no atmosphere or ambience.

Lesson 1 - Read the Reviews....and trust them. I was pretty interested in trying this new place, particularly after watching the construction over a number of months. The building is fresh, modern and nicely appointed. Staff greeted us warmly upon arrival and seated us (relatively) quickly. (Actually, one of the bar staff saw us waiting and came over to seat us, Amazingly none of the wait staff in the actual restaurant took any notice of the medium group waiting to be seated. <br/>We ordered the food from the limited menu (maybe a few pages were missing?) and whilst the 'mini meals' were nice, unfortunately we followed them up with the main meals....they were terrible.<br/>The salt & pepper calamari looked like thin curly fries, and the amount of salt on them made them inedible. <br/>The 1kg of pasta in the spaghetti carbonara had only a few bits of bacon, and if it had carbonara sauce, it wasn't apparent - instead it was an oily, unappetising and flavourless dish. The Chicken Caesar Salad was mediocre at best, and lacked the vibrancy of even the most basic of salads. I guess we should have complained, but it was a busy night and our group was keen to get out of there, we left roughly $250 lighter and sorely disappointed. I usually give places a second chance, but this one i definitely wont.

Credit where due. Previous post may have been premature! Staff where very understanding and negotiated a settlement that satisfied we disgruntled customers.<br/><br/><br/>-----17 Jan, 2014-----<br/><br/>Build an appetite. If you order lunch you might get it for dinner. At least we were hungry when we got our 6:30pm order at 8:30pm. Here's a tip: don't order the cob bread over garlic loaf - costs twice as much for less product. Chef has a vague understanding of creating edible steaks - my medium was rare & oh so sinuwey. Maybe more than a teaspoon of pepper sauce would help.<br/>This is the second disaster here. Won't be back.

I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews about this place.... Things must have changed.<br/>A group of us went to Hotel 520 for lunch on a Saturday and it was the first time any of us had been to this place. We were met by a friendly waitress who showed us to our table and told us what the specials for that day were. Prices are probably a few dollars more than most pub bistros but portions are generous. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals. The only negative was the length of time from ordering to meals arriving at the table. Everyone only ordered main courses (no entrees) and they took 40 minutes to arrive - and it wasn't a particularly busy day.<br/>Good food, friendly staff, I'd go back again.

Bad. Visiting a friend who lives in the area - went for a local, tasty meal and was disappointed - food was okay, but the service was shocking!!! I expected more, having been to a function in this venue at the start of the year, and the food and service in the private room was great ! I had even complimented the function manager on a great event back then- when I asked the male bar attendant this time, he said she has now left. He told me the old head chef has also gone. Pity - it seems to have gone downhill badly since losing some good staff. I don't blame the young staff though - during our dinner we witnessed the old blonde manager talking down to them twice - in earshot of diners! At one point, I had to make a joke to a young server to cheer her up - it looked like she was about to burst into tears after being barked orders at. The manager herself was running around like a chook with its head cut off, not really doing anything though. Clearly out of her depth on the restaurant floor. It ruined our night, and although we were going to stay and put $ in the pokies - we didn't want to support this nasty woman's venue anymore than we already had, so we made quick exit., I have a daughter in hospitality, and I would never want this lady to be her boss. til they get someone in who knows how to look after their staff, and customers, we won't be back.

Good quality, big selection, enjoyable experience.. I am very surprised by all the negative comments on here, food was of top quality especially for a Buffet. Roast Beef very nice, Sweet and Sour Fish, etc .. Desserts yum .. Huge selection and plenty of fresh seafood if that is what you are after which makes excellent value for money everything else tasty too .. Friendly staff the only fault to be honest was they were not quick to take away dishes. Will be back for sure !!

In a word %#@&!^% awful.. Someone call international rescue as this place is an epic disaster. <br/><br/>Combine cheap ingredients and bad preparation and you have 80% of Hotel 520's menu covered the rest is clearly pre-made food service gunk they have brought in plastic bags and reheated. <br/><br/>I don't think I've been to any place in Melbourne with food this bad and suspect the dining room was a condition of their gaming license and they are just shoveling out the cheapest slop they can to meet a dining requirement. <br/><br/>Try KFC next door or a servo pie at BP both are an improvement on this rubbish.

$30 per head for dry roast beef and stale bread rolls. I went to hotel 520 for dinner with my sister last night and what a waste of $60 that was.<br/><br/>Firstly, the Bread rolls were stale, the "roast beef" was floating in some tasteless broth with sprigs of rosemary in it, presumably to mask the fact that the beef was dry and full of gristle. The "Green Thai Chicken Curry" was white with black sesame seeds, old (frozen?) baby corn and an unidentifiable green leafy substance in coconut milk and chilli powder. So hot (chilli hot) that I wondered if the idea was to eat that first so you couldn't taste anything else. The fish was overcooked and the lasagne tasted watery and store bought.<br/><br/>The only good thing about the buffet that was good were the chips (if you could get any because they never appeared to be replenished) and the tiny slices of delicious dessert cakes (which I would bet $$$ to donuts were bought not made on site).<br/><br/>I also realised when I heard a booming voice and saw a chef helping himself to chips with his hands before they arrived at the buffet that the reason I was experiencing a horrible sens of deja vu was that I had eaten a very similar (horrible) buffet at a function at a point cook golf club where this same man used to be the head chef.<br/><br/>Needless to say,I wont be trying the buffet again and sadly may not even return for the a la carte even though the steaks we had there a few weeks ago were faultless.

Will Try Again But.... Went to dinner here on a Wednesday for my husbands birthday with family who've been before and recommended it. None of us had realised that Wednesday is buffet night, but thought we'd give it a go and had high expectations for the price ($30 per person or $25 for members). To be honest unless you're a seafood eater, it's completely overpriced. In the way of seafood there were prawns and oysters, however it didn't seem like a lot of diners were going for these items. In terms of hot food, the offerings were a minestrone soup, chips (which were not replenished often enough), fish bites (good for the kids I guess), roast beef, a potato and root vegetable medley (the only veggies on offer), green curry, rice, minute steak (a little tough), champagne fish and lasagne (bland). The dessert offerings were fruit salad, sticky date pudding and various small pieces of cake. Whilst the food was OK, it was nothing special and definitely not worth $30. There were some diners who took advantage of the all you could eat idea, piling their plates high and returning numerous times, but the food just wasn't tasty enough for us to do the same. However, in saying all this, I would like to come back and try the a la carte menu as I've heard good things and I'm hoping it's just the mass production of a buffet that has let them down this time.

Excellent food with amazing service!. I have eaten in the 520 bistro a number of times and absolutely love it! Am surprised with the below comment about the calamari..... That's my favorite dish! Calamari just melts in your mouth! The wait staff are fantastic and would be commended for their great work. It's about time we had a great venue in the western suburbs. Will definitely be back! Thanks 520!

Seems like 'hit & miss' with this place, however unfortunately we definitely experienced a big 'miss'!!!<br/>Visited recently for lunch & was very disappointed in the food. Service seemed professional & good, however the food was terrible. The salt & pepper calamari was soooo salty, it was inedible. The chicken kebab was a soggy tasteless affair. A few pieces of soft soggy undercooked & tasteless chicken on a Turkish roll. <br/>I may go back one day & try the dinner menu, however won't be back for lunch!!

Finally a decent hotel in the West!. What a fantastic venue! The food was to die for, very reasonably priced and very generous in size. It was a very busy night and the Bistro staff were very attentive and never made us feel like once we had eaten we had to move on (not like some other venues in the Point Cook area do) The Bar staff were extremely professional and well on top of everything, even their wine suggestions were spot on. The entertainment was perfect and not so loud that you couldn’t hold a conversation. It was also refreshing to see that the venue manager, I think her name is Julie, was working on a Friday night. She needs to be commended on how she runs the venue, I truly do not know how she has the energy, making sure that all guests were being looked after and having a good time and even getting behind the bar to help out the staff when they were busy. So well done to Julie and her staff. You have a fabulous venue with a great vibe, it was nice to finally go to a venue that was well-presented with more than helpful staff. It was one of the best nights we have had for a while (and that was by all of us we had a group of 10) we will definitely recommend your venue to our family and friends! 10/10

Absolutely fantastic experience!<br/>We ate in the bistro last night, it was a very busy night. The staff were extremely welcoming and continued to touch base with our table throughout the night.<br/>The bar staff were friendly and certainly know their wines.<br/>Will definitely return!

Food was excellent. Ordered gnocchi, and bruschetta. Food was delicious,. A little bit pricey but food was excellent and serving size was generous. Partner ordered the chicken roulade but found the serving size a little small, he would have liked a larger serve of vegetables, but quality and flavour was excellent. Will definitely go back.

BAD BAD BAD. My gosh I hated it I went to the Bistro and had a young staff member bump me and not even say sorry or excuse me I ordered my dinner and a cook he was a large man looked like Italian i think pick food out of the food warmer and eat it. The food was crap and I wanted to just go and not pay for it it was terrible to say the least. I had to flag and but into the bar staff.<br/>I then thought well I will just have a coffee and a pokie play and that was bad too I heard two girls talking at the front counter swearing and I can not believe it the things that were coming out of their mouths if anyone goes in there just say nothing or she will bite your head off like she did mine. Only she was a tall large blonde girl i just ended up walking out. But I at least won on the pokies that was the only thing going

Food was ok, only problem we had was with the security commenting on my friends outfit. Very rude and unprofessional. We looked forward to this place opening and we where disappointed at this and have never been back.

I recommend the sports bar menu, can't go wrong Parma & pot $15. You can eat in the gaming room too I enjoy eating in there as it is extremely clean the bar tables are not sticky like sports bar, also The female staff are much friendlier on the pokie side and offer a complimentary expresso cappuccino to customers very regularly throughout the day/night this is a delight . The girls there are very attentive and helpful. I enjoy hotel 520 and so does my wife. We give 95/100% see you all again next week! I have found our new local for cheap feeds.

Great food, service was amazing, this one girl rachael, she is the best waitress I have ever come across!! A big 5 stars for hotel520
Pretty Observant
Service not the best. The food in the restaurant probably out of 100 / 50 percent could be better for the price, also the staff who work in the pokies especially the two blonde girls a short and a tall one there manners leave a lot to be desired very rude to customers but the other girls manners where better

I took my friend out for lunch today. We have travelled Australia wide and we were very impressed with the quality of service and the meals. Well presented, cooked to perfection. Highly recommended. 10/10.
Gemgoback
From the 5 meals our table received not one meal was satisfactory. Disappointed as we so wanted a new, local place to worthy of many return visits. Chicken in 3 meals was dry, vegetables bland & over cooked. Salad was wiltered & not fresh. Desserts were old & dried at edges. For the price paid we expected much better. Menu sounds good & has a good variety of basic pub food but the kitchen fails to deliver on the promise of the menu. The majority of the wait staff need more training as they didn't really provide any kind of service other than putting plates on the table. I hope management take note of the feedback they receive & sort these issues out.

Had an awful experience with the food. Tasteless, dry, awful. The venue looks too pub like inside for the overpriced food they offer on their menu. Too scared to go back. Waitresses were lovely, only good part about it.
Mikey
The Chicken Roulade here is just delicious, and so is the Salt and Pepper Calamari. 5 star quality and flavour, very very tasty. The prices are on the high side compared to some other clubs in the area, but the menu is a higher quality than you'd expect. I think hotel 520 will also get better with time, as it's a brand new venue full of brand new staff. Be a bit forgiving of the little faults and imperfections and you'll have a great visit.

’m shocked to read all the dismal reviews on Urbanspoon! I had enjoyed one of my best pub dining experiences at Hotel 520 tonight.
