Very polite and friendly greeted lovely when hubby and I came in. We have never had Persian food before so we asked our waitress what she recommended my hubby had the Bakhtiari Kabab which comes with rice, grilled tomatoe & red onion slices, I had Juje Kabab which we both said was lovely. Firstly we started with the trio persian dips different but nice. Also on Tuesday they offer a free salad bar. We will be returning. Thank you so much 😀
Went there on Easter Sunday night. They were quite busy and under staffed but still the floor staff were trying hard to get to everyone, and were doing their best. We had a dips platter which was really nice. After that we had kubideh kabab, Soltani kabab and Dizi Sangi. All of the dishes were really yummy and the meats were very tender. The owner/manager was also very friendly. We had a great night and will definitely be back.
This was my first time trying Persian food. And overall i can say that my experience with the food and the food was satisfactory.
Loved the hospitality of the waiters and the ambiance was pretty authentic. The little details out here and there like the line of tea pots, the section of desserts, the music instruments hanging on the wall were different from the others.
We ordered
Makhsoos kebab, it had minced lamb and marinated chicken skewers and we ordered it with part rice, grilled tomato and part salad shirazi. Loved the minced lamb and the cook ok it, the marinated chicken was tender and moist but the salad shirazi felt mediocre.
Bakhtiari kebab, it had a combination skewer of lamb fillet and marinated chicken with onions and capsicum with rice and grilled tomato. The chicken was the same as the plate before but the lamb was in chunks, it didn’t feel that great as it wasn’t aa tender as I thought it would be.
The grilled tomatoes on both the plates was a big no no. Didn’t like the taste of the burnt skin at all.
Also, they have a free salad bar, a good amount of collection to choose from, which just took my heart away.
Highly recommended by Persian friends…food is good, slight spiced , tasty .First time try salty youghrt drink , such a good match with meat dishes…the dessert is average , too sweet for me( I am Chinese), but my Persian friends love it, will go back try something else later 。
Yes/no? Yes
This is not the best Persian restaurant I’ve been to but this still had beautiful flavours
The rice was nice but I felt like it was lacking some sweetness to it
The chicken skewers were good and the lamb was amazing!!! I would devour the lamb itself, it was amazing.
Would return
A great place to enjoy traditional Persian cuisine. The ambience is spectacular and the food great too. Enjoyed a lot of traditional delicacies like Persian bread with Mast-O-Khiar (Yoghurt mixed with finely chopped cucumber), Bakhtiari kebab (A kabab which is a combination of grilled Lamb fillet, marinated chicken, capsicum, & onions on a skewer Served with rice & grilled tomato), Dizi Sangi (Is a mixture of boneless lamb, tomato, potato, dried lime, chickpeas & special sauce served with bread. Ask your host how to enjoy this unique dish), dhoogh and sweets. Definitely going back to try more dishes.
Lovely place with authentic food, tried the joojeh kebab with butter rice and it was just amazing. The place, the ambience and the staff all are welcoming. It has ample seating for big groups and has tons of parking space. Great for a family of friends dinner out. :)
Went to AliQapu for dinner with a group of friends and colleagues and everyone agreed that the food was great! We loved the little dips with the flatbread and the green rice was so aromatic and delicious. The saffron ice cream is to die for! I'd go back just to have the ice cream again! The staff were friendly and attentive and the ambience places you in a restaurant in the heart of Persia. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Was introduced by le boyfriend and colleague. 16km drive faraway from our place. Thank God it was a good dinner and worth the drive. I must say, the rice portion is huge for one person. If you love Persian rice and big meal, this is a good place to go plus with free salad bar on Tuesday to Thursday nights.
Le boyfriend ordered Zereshk Polo and we were amazed by the huge portion. He was struggling to finish the rice as the meat was gone by then so I offered some of my share. I had the Makhsoos Kebab; combination of both skewer of mince lamb and chicken. Pretty much the same I had at Hafez minus the green chilli. Well seasoned and I must say the good side of this place is that everything is free range and grass fed with no added hormones. Thus, their meat is the juicer side and I like it. Comparing with Hafez, this place gave dates on the side for the Persian tea, displays of Persian desserts and free salad bar. Lots of differences and it’s really depending on individual preferences and liking.
We spent about $86 for 2 rice meal dishes and Persian tea (per person, no pot) with free salad on side. The place is quite big with outside sitting (good sisha place during summer) and if you come with friends/family and enjoy the outdoor with Persian food and environment, this is a good place to go to. Definitely will come again if we have the mood of driving that far. I would love to give them 4.5 star rating;)
Nice place and atmosphere .. food is not the best Persian food, but still good
You will enjoy the environment more than the food
Friendly staff
Came for dinner on Saturday night after making a booking. Always hearing rave reviews and the fact that the establishment is still there is a good sign (compared to their predecessors that didn't last long).
Ordered fries as entree/side, two servings of kubideh kebab, one with half rice and seasonal salad, the other with half rice and salad shirazi. Absolutely impressed with the food here, the skewers were so tender, rice was fluffy and salads were flavourful. The chips weren't crunchy, fries would've been a better substitute, but that sauce was to die for! Grilled tomato was a little odd for us, didn't really eat it so much.
Service was attentive, but some of their waitresses could've carried themselves better. The restaurant isn't well ventilated, and expect to smell like charcoal and meats, with your face definitely slightly oily. When paying, we went up to the bar where there was a selection of baklava we would've tried but neither of the waitresses offered any but were chatting amongst themselves.
great food and environment to have a taste of Persia/Iran
very friendly staff..
kababs are very soft and tender...
very nice experience everytime being there.
best persian restaurant in Melbourne
try some of the sweets after for dessert or the persian ice-cream or Faloodeh 😍
highly recomended
Great service, kid friendly, beautiful food that is respected and presented with love. The atmosphere is stunning and the outdoor area is perfect for families.
Aliqapu at Templestowe. Very nice Persian restaurant and food is ok. Not so impressed but the rice is very good. Soft and tender. Lamb shank and kebab is a must try.
Tasty food, so if that is all you are after, then still a good option. However, service and decor are very average. We ate outdoors and had to order inside.
Best Iranian restaurant in Melbourne. Location is great. Food and service are good. Interior is nice. Price is reasonable. Try Dizi. It tates great!
Mmmm.... yum. Mouth watering Persian dishes... perfect for wintery months. Great serving size, a tip if you are very hungry then order the famous Persian trio dips.... but if you are not that hungry then just order the main, it will sure satisfy your empty belly.
Love the exquisite decoration of this place. The story-telling paintings, colorful tiles, musical instruments, sarmovars in the corners kept my eyes busy. Ordered the eggplant dips which came with Persian barbari bread. The bread was so good that it was long gone before I remembered to take any photo. The koobideh kebab was also tasty. I like the juicy grilled tomatoes too. But my friend said that the rice could be more fragrant and less oily. Saffron icecream and a pot of Persian tea were good ending of a fulfilling meal. A good experience with Persian food!
According to my Persian friend, this is the ibly restaurant that serves proper authentic Persian dishes.. i ordered the mixed meat kebab and was very satisfied. The interiors of this restaurant feels like you've been transported to Iran.
Let me start by stating that I don't have any previous experience with persian food. Aliqapu was my first and well it was first love. Food was very tasty and flavors were varied and unique. Will surely visit again. Ambience was average.
My first time having Persian food and we tried the banquet.. the dips were delicious and fresh! Great way to start the meal! The meat on the platter was all so tender and cooked really well. The perfect way to end the meal was a pot of tea and small pastries! Highly recommend
What is Iranian food? also widely referred to as Persian cuisine,
Iranian culinary styles have shared historical interactions with the cuisines of the neighboring regions, including Caucasian, Kurdish, Turkish, Levantine, Greek, Central Asian, and Russian cuisine.
Through the Persianized Central Asian Mughal dynasty, aspects of Iranian cuisine were adopted into North Indian cuisine.
On the advice of an Iranian colleague, we went road-tripping to the wilds of lovely Lower Templestowe (an easy 25 minute drive from the CBD) for what we were assured was the best Iranian in town.
The dining room is a large rectangular space, with much of the seating on raised platforms, covered in Persian rugs, and was filled with groups of friends and families on the Sunday lunch we went to. An added bonus was a really quite good guitarist playing traditional style Iranian music, which made for a pleasant atmosphere for feasting.
To make things easy, we went for the banquet for $46.
Hoo boy, was it a LOT of food. You will not need (or want) to eat for days!
We ate:-
Trio of Persian dips
1. Mast-O-Kiar (Yoghurt mixed with finely chopped cucumber, walnuts & mint)
2. Salad Oliveh (chicken, eggs, gherkin, potato, lemon juice, olive oil & mayonnaise)
3. Mirza Ghasemi (Grilled eggplant, garlic, tomato, egg, onions & olive oil)
Juje Kabab (marinated chicken kabab in minced onion and lemon juice with saffron, grilled over a fire)
Kubideh Kabab (skewer of marinated minced lamb with onions and herbs)
Bakhtiari Kabab (eye fillet, marinated chicken, capsicum & onion skewer)
Khorest-e Gheymeh (A colorful stew made with yellow split peas, lean diced lamb, fries & a special Persian sauce)
Dizi Sangi (Stew of lamb, tomato, potato, dried lime, chickpea)
Persian Tea with Sweets & Dates
Persian Ice Cream (saffron and rosewater, served with pistachio) This one split the group. Opinions ranged from ‘a delicious, not too sweet finish to the meal’, to ‘Weird weird wrongtown flavour’. Try for yourself…
We drank :-
lots of tea
Aliqapu house Shiraz, from Heathcote
Doogh (a savoury, salty, yoghurt based drink – not the most delicious thing on its own, but perfect to offset the richness of the meat dishes)
Would we go back?
For sure! Its a great excuse to go for a Sunday drive and have a great value and tasty meal.
The Good: Went here with a large group (15 of us). The service was very good and the food came out quickly. The starters were okay - I could only have one of the dips due to my allergy. The main is excellent, the meats are all very good but the highlight was the lamb/beef kebab. The portion sizes were also very good. The ambience and decor is also spot on and we went with an Iranian who recommended the food highly.
The Bad: They didn't know the ingredients of the bread as they don't make it themselves so they weren't sure if it had egg in it.
Other: The value is not bad, cost $60 in total with a couple of drinks.
First time trying Persian food, i finally decided to try something new and Persian is what I decided. My friend and I got a table at this beautiful restaurant on the same day of booking which I found to be perfect and a good sign.
Arriving here, the entry door is a little confusing since you have to go all the way around the place to enter which was a surprise.
Getting greeted by a beautiful waitress we were both seated and given menus. I have to praise this establishment with the exquisite interior. The walls and mosaic work was simply admirable to look at.
Since it was even my friends first time also, we got a couple of things to share to elevate our new adventure together.
We ordered the following:
Entreè;
• Persian Dips
Mains;
• Makhsoos Kabab
• Khoresht-E Gheymeh
Dessert;
• Persian Ice-Cream
In relation to the dips, their were three seperate varieties which each had a peculiar taste. One was a yoghurt base with cucumber, walnuts and mint. It was ok, it did have the right amount of cucumber which matched great with the grittiness of the walnuts in my opinion.
The next dip was my favourite of the bunch. It was the "salad oliveh" which was sort of a potato salad which included chicken, peas, gherkins and mayonnaise. It was delightful to consume.
Lastly was the vegetarian dip which I didn't like at all. Not really what I'm into, no distinctive involvement of flavour and didn't portray any beautiful tasting notes in my opinion.
Bread was good, hot and did have illusive seeded flavour throughout each slice.
Mains came out and for the Makhsoos Kabab, I have to grant did look inviting to eat. The lamb was delicious and the chicken was just succulent. Each mouthful was heavenly. The side of rice with saffron basted a perfect accompaniment with the side salad also. Outstanding dish in every detail.
The next dish which was the Khoresht-E Gheymeh did have a great consistency in relation to the lamb. Great braising of the meat. Normally I don't like stews but this surprisingly did pack a punch. The yellow peas and the sauce were fantastic, my only criticism were those fries on top. If you're going to include fries on a dish, at least cook them from scratch. They tasted like packet ones and was texturally underwhelming in every way. This brought down the overall dish profusely.
Lastly was the dessert. My friend and I were a little sceptical with ordering the ice cream, however when it came to the table each scoop looked absolutely divine. First spoon in, it did have a unexpected taste to it which my friend wasn't a fan of however to my palette it was utterly bewildering. I finished all three scooped with ease.
In conclusion a flat-out thumbs up for this restaurant.
Kebabs and rice are amazing and authentic. The restaurant is big with indoor and outdoor area. Authentic and warm decorations and great music. A bit pricey compared to other Persian restaurants.
First time eating at this restaurant. It was relatively busy on a Thursday night. I enjoyed the deco of this place. It shows a lot of Persian history and culture. Staff were friendly and food was nicely presented. However I can't say I like the food. It doesn't have much variety to choose from and food aren't as tasty as expected. Also I wish they would have more serving staff. Only 2 for a busy Saturday night.
Nice atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff. Needs a few more staff especially during weekends. The koobideh and chicken kebabs can be a bit more juicy and tender.
We went here for a dinner with family.
The decor of the restaurant is definitely that will strike your eye. It is quite luxurious, peaceful and spacious. There are spaces inside the restaurant as well as outside.
As far as food is concerned we ordered four dishes which included lamb, chicken and mirza ghazemi.
I will definitely say that the grilled chicken was very tasty and juicy. They did have good flavour. The lamb was the surprise candidate, didn't seem to have any spices on it but when you eat it, it was juicy tasty and soft.
But the one that I felt which wasn't up to the mark was the mirza ghashemi. This one felt it was cooked in a hurry and definitely wasn't tasty. I have had much better ones before.
A very nice place serving quality food. I love the ambience of the place and of course the food tastes great. A great place to go with family or a group of friends
This lovely restaurant in Lower Templestowe was amazing from the moment we were greeted at the door it was warm & welcoming. We had the Banquet there was more than enough food for all & some. The staff were on there game & were very attentive to all our needs I would highly recommend this little gem in the suburbs.
Amazing place, amazing food, amazing service and staff.
As a persian i do recommend this resturant.
The best i have ever tried.
The location and the food well represent the ancient persian culture.
First time here a) loved the atmosphere with the persian decor and all the persian ladies with their lovely long locks ...hehe..
b) food was great ; we had the kebabs and the meat was oh so tender and the rice fluffy and nice...next time (we will definitely be back) we will try the other side of the menu which has stews.
This was from a few weeks back actually so I don't remember my dining in experience exactly. These guys authentic Persian cusine. Their quantities are large so come here with an appetite. The servers are friendly and the desserts are absolutely delectable. BUT this comes only with a purchase of persian tea. We din't know this and headed to the counter to order two baklavas. The polite server gave it to us for free. Another tip is to make a reservation, this resturant is a popular dine in place with those living in the Eastern suburbs. The most popular item on the menu seemed the meal for 4. I had a look at it and it was absolute value for money. The only reason I hv'nt given Ali Qapu a 5 rating is because I din't have a extremely good opinion on the taste of the food. Maybe thats just my peference. But do check out this lovely authentic Persian restutants with ample parking in the side and beautiful decor.
I'm Persian and I've tried so many places for Persian cuisine. The only restaurant I could find the taste of home in Melbourne is here in AliQapou. Divineeeee
Food is fresh and delicious, It's all about satisfaction.
I love the environment as it represents Persian culture and its history. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who are keen to try a Persian food.
Food is delicious, reasonable prices. Love when they have someone come play live music. It really helps to set the atmosphere. Will return here
Went there for dinner with the boys , I ordered the kashkeh badamjoon , delicious , I never thought egg plant could be so tasty , I also ordered the sultani kebab very tasty , hats of to the Cheff .
Great friendly helpful staff , great atmosphere .
Being Iranian, I tend to be quiet strict about quality and taste of Persian food. If you compare this restaurant to other Persian restaurants in Melbourne, they are the best no doubt. But if you want to try Authentic Persian food with real taste of traditional oil on rice, traditional warm bread and deserts then you have no choice but actually going to Iran . Now the food! Being a group of 12, we ordered all types of kebabs. Minced lamb Is the best one you can go for. My mate recommended barg but no too salty. I always loved their baghali polo and this time was no exception. Ghorme sabzi was really good. Dips were disappointing especially not having kashke bademjan on the trio dip. Baklava was great and drinks were all good. Dont go for Ice cream or faloode not even close to authentic .So all in all, great environment and decoration, a bit over priced, meat is well made but rice is small in portion and not authentic so as the bread. But overall it is average in Iranian standard and above average for Melbourne. Will come again as it is the best you can get Melbourne but too far :). Oh and staff are friendly just a bit clumsy :)
As soon as you enter this place your taken away to another place, another time. You check out the drinks menu and are delighted to see the presence of cheap beers. You decide $5 corona's will do the job and then go on a food adventure. Definitely worth checking out this place as no one will be left hungry and no one will be bored with the menu.
I have been to AliQapu many times and as an Iranian who also enjoys cooking, I know I see a great Persian restaurant with great food, atmosphere and service . This is definitely now one of the best, if not the best, Persian restaurant available in Melbourne.
For non-Iranians, unless you prefer your meat well done do not order the kababs. You'll enjoy the dips and the casseroles better. Try Dizi as you might find the theatrics of it quite interesting.
1. the foods and taste are good toward amazing
2. hospitality very good and they are well aware of their menu and how to serve customer
3. Atmosphere and decoration is beautiful and very Iranian.
4. Prices are good but could be slightly cheaper.
On Friday night, we booked a table for 10, and we are not a frequent
Persian food dinners. but have been to a couple famous Persian restaurants
before. Since we were not the expert of
the Persian foods, hence we had asked the waiter Ali to help us, the
instruction was, bring out what you think is the good. Well, the results was fantastic,
we all ate well and enjoy the night. In
here, I would like to share some tips for the others, before we went, I had
read some of the comments from the other dinners, I remembered someone said,
the Kebab were dry, hence when ordering, I told Ali that we don’t like dry
Kebab, guest what, the Kebab turnout was so juicy, and was one of the best
Kebab. We also like the entrée, not sure what it called, but it’s fry eggplant
with walnuts, that was good, at the end, we have some yogurt left, I mixed the
yogurt with the walnuts & eggplant, that was delicious.
Last Friday night was full, so if you want to be sure will
get a table instantly, I think booking might help.
At the end, make sure you have the Persian tea, that was
great.
To sum up, the food was light, tasty and good value for money
Best Iranian restaurant in Melbourne, same level as the best restaurants in Iran. High quality, tasty food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Also very professional and good at advising how much/ what food to order when you are in a group. Took my colleagues there for an Iranian night and everybody absolutely loved it. Live chill music adds a nice touch to the experience. Keep up the good work guys!
It's the first time i tried some Persian cuisine and enjoyed it. I would need to try more restaurants to be able to assess what's actually good when it comes to this cuisine, nevertheless i enjoyed the food and my evening thoroughly. We ordered some dips, bhaguli pollo, mehsoos kebab (i might have spelled names wrong) and salty yogurt based drink (doogh?) which had some dried mint in it. All the items were fresh and delicious. The only complaint i have is with the chicken skewers which were a bit dry or else the food is an easy 4 rating.
Also, i loved the decor of the place, it had some nice Persian paintings and took me to a different pleasant cultural experience.
A Very buzy restaurant, better to go on reservation. And the Menu is complicated might have to ask the helpful waitress to assist in choosing. We had the rice with chicken shish and lamb and another authentic lamb and chickpea stew which was served in a claypot(traditional pot) which was very unique. The rice was fragrant and the meat was good. The saffron ice cream is a must try.1 serving was good enough for 2. $60 for two is alright for the experience. Wil definitely visit again.
Ordered the Persian dips, Juje (chicken) and Soltani (minced lamb, eye fillet and chicken) which was nice. Full of flavour - the only let down was the rice serving cold.
The waitress also got the order wrong but was quick to change it to what we initially wanted and brought it out without a fuss.
Been back 3 times now :)
Fantastic meal here last night. The food was excellent, particularly enjoyed the lamb shanks and mirza ghasemi (eggplant dip). The service is excellent and the wine list is great! The decor is really nice and authentic. It is good to have such a unique restaurant in the suburbs. Unlike other kebabs I've had in the past, these were lean, tasty and not overcooked. Highly recommend!
No doubt, The best Persian Resturan in Mel.
.The lamb shanks and kebabs were great.
Strongly recommend it. Well done guys.
By the way the huge parking is just "Awesome"
I like Ali Qapu restaurant very much ,we will find the person writing the lay about the restaurant .we are very close to find out who are you .we get you
Great service and food. Good value and nice setting in which to try authentic Middle eastern cuisine.
So AliQapu is my friend’s pick for Persian food – and mine too for that matter. After stuffing ourselves so full I think next time we better show some inkling of restraint. I also need to think about which restaurant would best represent Chinese food in the suburbs (it’s tough isn’t it…)
An asset for Iranian Community in Melbourne. AliQapu is truly not an ordinary restaurant but actually an asset for Iranian Australian communities.
Everything in this restaurant meets high standards of the Iranian cuisines tastes and Australian catering. For me, it is the ideal place to take a guest and introduce them to some of Iranian dishes. I highly recommend variety of kebabs and also appetizers in AliQapu.
Liked it. First time diner. Went for dinner on Friday night. Plenty of parking.
They had seating which was great. We were seated a bit close to other people as it is a little crowded for space. Very nice atmosphere and extremely friendly service and attention to customers. The food was good. We made the mistake of filling up on the dips but they were delicious. Overall I like the food and the restaurant and would definitely go back. Price was reasonable at $60 for 2 people for 2 courses and CHEAP beer ($4 - i couldn't believe it).
Oodles of yummy food served by personable staff in a pleasant setting. Really enjoyed it.
Delish!. Delicious food, quick service, friendly atmosphere, comfortable seating. Great for a large group, family or a table for two. Loved the food and can't wait to go back!
Good food, good service but so much rice! Will definitely share a plate with a friend next time.
Friendly service and excellent baklava, will be return customer
Authentic Persian in every way!. I have had a first class experience with this restaurant nearly every time I dined there. My wife and I were very happy to invite our "Western" friends to join us at Ali Qapu, and they liked it very much.
I can assure prospective diners that, in my opinion, Ali Qapu's food, hospitality and atmosphere are authentic Persian. Highly recommended.
Top food, Top service? Yes AliQapu is the place!. If you are after a top food with a top service at a reasonable price, don't look more. AliQapu is the ultimate experience for a persian night. warm environment with wonderful decoration.
You can be assured you are in good hands as a very friendly restaurant owner, Amir, is always there with a big smile making sure is executed to perfection.
Tty it once and you will become regular like me, either for a casual midweek night dinner or a formal weekend meal with your workmates.
Absolutely loved, must try!. Really enjoyed the food at this local restaurant. There aren't many great places to eat in the suburbs - this is a wonderful addition! The kebabs are really delicious and cooked perfectly (not oily or dry). I loved the gormeh sabzi (herb stew) very different to anything I've ever had. I also enjoyed the dizi (lamb dish) which came in this really unique pot that is used to combine the ingredients. I came to this restaurant a few years ago and I think it must have changed hands because the food is different and a lot better. I'll definitely be back! Highly recommend.
BEST PERSIAN IN MELBOURNE. I am a regular at this restaurant. The food is delicious, service good and decorations lovely. The food is very authentic Persian. Highly recommend the chicken Kebab!
Awesome Experience. A nice Saturday night my friends and i sat around on a table in this restaurant and enjoyed the best food in town! service was perfect and food was delicious. such a chilled environment to enjoy your night out in this restaurant.
Definitely going back.
Beautiful, flavoursome food. The staff are warm and welcoming and it is very good value for the quality and quantity. Top picks were the eggplant dip, the chicken kebab and the rice with berries. Strongly recommend for those familiar and unfamiliar with Persian cuisine!
Simply the best! We went la.... Simply the best!
We went last Sunday to Ali qapu for lunch with a group of family and friends which travelled from Sydney to Melbourne. We tried all the dips and dishes. They were very impressed with the taste and quality of the food compared to the Persian restaurants they tried in Sydney. As one of the guests said, "simply the best Persian restaurant".
Great Persian food and nice atmosphere. Definitely the best persian restaurant in Melbourne. Last week l dined out in Ali Qapu restaurant with a big group of my family and friends, we had the banquet menu. It was a great combination of food and taste. Very impressed with the traditional interior and atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
First time here. Never had persian cuisine before. Food was very flavorsome, interesting dishes and ambiance was nice. Recommend the $40 banquet
We've now been to all Iranian restaurants and Ali Qapu is by far the best. The food was fantastic. The service very good. The atmosphere could be improved by making it feel more intimate, but there are nice decorations and nice music played by a guitarist. I will definitely take friends there.
Relaxed Atmosphere & Kid Friendly. We brought our 21month old and 4year old to AliQapu.
Even though there is not a 'kids menu' the restaurant was very accommodating with sharing food. Food was delicious even for fussy 4 year old taste buds.
Also the guy playing the guitar was great in helping create a relaxed atmosphere and my 21month old was hypnotised by watching him play music.
Will definitely re-visit this restaurant.
Professional customer service and experience is what separates this Persian restaurant from other Persian restaurant in Australia. Starting from the food as you may be wanting to know as it's what a cultural Persian food is like which is hard to explain with words, so a visit would be worthwhile. When entered in the restaurant a sense of déjà vu is felt and nostalgia if you're Persian and if not, the restaurant is filled with traditional and historical visuals and some instruments that represents the culture. Not to mention their selection of drinks and my favourite which is their wine which symbolises Persian heritage on its labels.
Food was amazing and the staff was kind and helpful. The atmosphere really helped in making you feel as if you were in Persia.
The food is recommended. . Always busy so it is better to make a reservation. .. the service is excellent. ..
Loved it!!
Great and tasty food, nice atmosphere.
Mains are big size
Very reasonable prices
Food is up there with the best in the world. Service is impeccable. Everything is made with the finest products and tastes amazing. Great selection of wines, champagnes and tea. A great Persian Restaurant that i am proud to say i have experienced in Australia. Yes it's expensive, but worth every cent.
My wife and I had a great night out there.
The food was really good and interesting. The atmosphere was family friendly. So although we were on a date night we'd be very comfortable bringing our young daughter there.
The service was good. The people who run it are really friendly and polite.
Certainly it is the best quality food, best service! We do go there quite often, we always enjoyed our time there. Live music, friendly staff and fantastic food. What else can you ask?! Absolutely nothing. It is very sad to see other Persian restaurants they can't match their service or quality of food in Melbourne. I have lived in Melbourne since 1995 and I have to say its the best of the best. Despite the haters, this is the fact!
