I love this place! Staff and management are so helpful and accommodating. We regularly have to wait for a table but that just tells me that everyone else agrees that this is the place to be and the food and coffee is well and truly worth the wait. This gem is so busy but service is always professional, fast and efficient. Managers keep you well informed on wait times and communication between staff and customer is great. We ate the cheeseburger today which was probably one of the tastiest burgers I have had in a very long time. Chips on the side were to die for! A great menu with plenty to choose from which means we’ll be back to work our way though each and every delicious dish!

Biggest and best menu I've ever seen. I've been in a few times already (tried both breakfast and dinner) and have loved every meal! The ambience is great-its a relaxing place that suits everyones needs. The staff are very attentive and friendly, I met George who was a delight to chat to. I'll be sure to come back and bring my friends and family!!

Riddik is a nice local café with decent space and good quality food. I visited Riddik with my friend last week for lunch. We were shocked that my friend was slapped with hidden $2 charge for tomato sauce when we went up to the register to pay. Lucky we checked the bill, we told the guy the charge for tomato sauce was not listed on the menu, even the staff at the register was unsure as he also thought it was complimentary. He asked a lady which we assume is the Manager, she just smiled and said “yes there is a charge for tomato sauce” and walked away. She didn’t even apologise. My friend remarked and said “shouldn’t you advise us first before charging us” the guy at the register was very apologetic as he didn’t know.

🔆LOCATION🔆

Riddik café is situated within Macedon Square, which is on Macedon Road off Manningham Road behind Woolies/Macedon Plaza.

The café is right at the very end of the row of shops, there’s plenty of street parking. As you walk in you see open kitchen and bar on the right hand side, with rows of booth seating on the left hand side with plenty of natural light from the full length windows.Towards the very back, there is more seating on the right on upper level with a beautiful mural painting on the exposed brick wall. We opt to sit here as it was more spacious.

🔆SERVICE🔆

The waitress that served us was friendly and took our order and repeated it to make sure it was correct. It didn’t take long for our meals to arrive which was very nice.

🔆MENU/PRICE🔆

Smashed avocado with 2 poached eggs on sourdough, $17.00
with side of bacon, $5.00
Note: tomato sauce, $2.00

Roast Vegetable salad, $19.00
(zucchini, squash, pumpkin, chickpeas and lentils finished with a lemon vinaigrette, shanklish, dressed leaves and pomegranate molasses)

🔆VERDICT🔆

Overall we had an enjoyable meal. I have ordered the Roast Vegetable salad before and I really enjoyed the freshness of all the ingredients and the lovely dressing. It is a very decent serving size and was very satisfied. My friend enjoyed her smashed avo, poached eggs and bacon however she couldn’t finish it.

However the charge for the tomato sauce and the reaction we received by the Manager on duty was really unpleasant experience.

Delicious brunch available at Riddik cafe. Such attentive stuff and just good quality food. The smashed avocado was fresh with delicious sourdough accompanying it. The chai late was generous and full of flavour. I love coming back to Riddik!

Good coffee and menu variety. One of the few contemporary breakfast / brunch places in lower templestowe. Busy on the weekends. Also has a separate vegan menu.

One of my "love" cafes. Food is spot on, coffee is great, service is friendly, and it's always got good vibes. They also provide colouring for kids - bonus! Been a few times and never disappointed.

Good atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. Food was served very promptly! The eggs Benedict was very tasty, however the Swiss cheese wasn’t melted resulting in a rubbery layer on top of the pastrami. Flavours were well balanced and the eggs were perfectly poached. Everyone else on the table thoroughly enjoyed their food.

Food: you name it, you got it. Their menu is super extensive and there is nothing that you fancy can go amiss here.
I loved their presentation and style and taste was top notch.

Parking: right outside the cafe and all around.

Decor: is superbly modern, that wall mural is breath taking.

#Mojofactor: wall mural of the pretty woman gives this cafe it's signature look.

Nice coffee and cool brunch menu with plenty of options. Only comment would be not a whole heap of vegetarian/vegan options available. Would recommend any of the egg bennys!

I’m seriously impressed. Riddik is a terrific place. It’s as good in pretty much every respect as any hipsterville haunt I’ve seen including in the sometimes highly fancied inner suburbs. And, this is a place in a fairly non descript suburban mall setting. It’s an oasis, folks. I bet it seriously goes off on a weekend here.

We have a cavernous space here with little expense spared in style and fit out. There’s even a huge mural here. Plus, a very cute and clearly highly functional outdoor serving window as well. The whole deal is extremely impressive.

That’s just the look and feel of the place. There’s a great looking menu here. I haven’t pondered over my meal choice as much for ages and ended up cross examining the server intensively about four possibilities before making a choice. I chose wisely. The pastrami beni, one of no less than five different eggs beni on offer, is a cracker. It is a delicious dish. It looks great and it is great. I could not fault it, from the really good quality pastrami to the beautiful hollandaise and perfectly made eggs. It was delicious.

The detail is managed impressively here. My long black to finish was so good and it was so nicely presented on a board with both still and sparkling water. Wow. Speaking of water, the table water was chilled not room temperature. The three servers we encountered we all lovely too. And everything came out like clockwork.

This is a top class place. It could be as good as any brunch place I’ve come across.

Nice place for coffee and food with pretty interior design. Their acai bowl was fantastic but coffee wasn't up to Melbourne standards!

Always a positive experience. Great coffee, great service, great food. Tasty and nothing too "fancy". Just simply done, with good food and coffee. Nails the basics beautifully.

The service was excellent, and the food was good. The poached eggs cooked perfectly, and the coffee served with sparkling water. I like the service most, very welcoming and standby for your request 10/10. It is the right venue for you if you nearby.

Riddik is newly opened and I am impressed with the quality of the food. The coffee, in particular the iced latte was excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant and modern. It can get a bit loud. Service was efficient. However we were sat down initially without menus. The kitchen was well staffed and the food came quickly. The kids meals were nice however I would appreciate more options. One negative was the price. The price is slightly higher than equivalent quality that can be found in the city and south Melbourne. The cheeseburger and chips at $22 was nice but I won't buy again at that price. For some this is reasonable but as a large family with lots of kids I felt a bit priced out.

Excellent service, delicious food, amazing atmosphere - the perfect place to kick off a weekend. No wonder the place was busy on a Saturday morning.

Second time we've eaten here. Great local restaurant with a menu that's a little different and unusual. Our group of 6 went on a Monday night and we're seated in an area of our choosing as the original bench/booth type seating was too difficult for my elderly parents to get in and out of. We ordered one Entré to share, the lamb ribs which were absolutely delicious. Tender and tasty with a delicious crust. It was supposed to come with preserved lemon but there was no evidence of it. We ordered a range of mains from Sliders, Burgers, Schnitzel and Eye fillet. All our dishes came with really good fresh chips. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their burgers which all had a bit of a twist. ( Monday is Burger night and there is quite a selection as well as the standard menu). The Eye fillet was a beautiful, generous, tasty cut but was unfortunately overcooked. It was ordered medium rare with a crust, but was well and truly medium and tending to dry. The staff were very solicitous and offered to redo the steak which we declined as it would have taken way too long. It was ordered with the red wine jus and also the mushroom sauce, on the side, which the very helpful girl who was serving our group was only too happy to accommodate. Both sauces were excellent. As we were all quite full we only ordered one dessert, the "Tasting Platter" which was a beautifully plated wooden platter with a Chocolate Fondant/Lava Cake, Strawberry and Chocolate Mousse, choc mint crumble, berries, Apple & Calvados Sorbet, Espresso ice cream and decorated with some edible flowers. It all looked great and tasted as good as it looks! Highlights of the meals were the Morrocan Honey Lamb ribs, the Apple Calvados Sorbet and the Espresso ice cream. Apart from the miss with the Eye Fillet and the slightly Bland Schnitzel we all enjoyed our meals, the lovely freindly staff and the atmosphere. Will definitely return!
