I've never eaten vegan food before, or even considered eating it.
Came across this hidden gem, the food was AMAZING the staff were lovely, friendly and very informative about the dishes. All made fresh everyday and super tasty. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!
Came all the way from Korumburra to try this place and it was worth the drive! We brought our greyhound and it’s just great to find a dog-friendly cafe. He loved his doggy-treats while we totally enjoyed our scrumptious cake and coffee. Then we went for a beautiful walk along the Ruffey Creek (just over the road from the cafe) to the Yarra, and came back for lunch - my tofu scramble was delicious! Would highly recommend Power Plant to anyone.
We just had lunch at this terrific restaurant. Very welcoming to my Dobermann Cross, Lucy, with lots of welcoming pats from staff and a large outdoor seated area for us all to enjoy our meal. My Father in particular is a meat and three veg person and was stunned when informed he was eating tofu as he "doesn't like this" yet found his meal delicious. My Mother couldn't resist purchasing some biscuits to take home for afternoon tea later in the day. I would definitely recommend Powerplant to everyone, including canine companions, as the food is great, service very friendly and even Lucy enjoyed snacking on my tofu omelette in her food bowl!
Food, staff & atmosphere is fabulously Power Plant but especially the food!
Thank you.
So fortunate to have a healthy vegan option this side of town.
Will be back again ... and again ... and again.
Amazing food and good location, friendly staff and quick service. My only issue is that it’s extremely contradictory for a “plant based” cafe to be serving Cows milk.
While I can understand that it’s done for those consumers who wont choose a more ethical milk. I don’t think it’s really a great thing for a business to go back on morals like that for a few customers.
Incredibly disappointing.
We came here for a catch-up lunch on Sunday and had a simply gorgeous meal! Such a gem to find and enjoy-will be back (multiple times!!) Thank you for providing such an amazing place in the suburbs x
Delectable food, lovely staff and beautiful interior design. Power Plant is a great place to kick back, especially on a sunny day.
OMG the French toast is to die for. 😝
If you're looking for decadence this is it. The chickpea omelette is very nice too.
It was our first visit but I'm looking forward to visiting again in future an will be recommending to friends and family! The dining room is light filled and airy and very roomy so that was nice! We were welcomed with very friendly smiles. I had the delicious green breakfast (kale, broccoli, beans, nuts... so very fresh and delicious!) and hubby had the mushroom burger! Generous portions and the juices were delicious! I wish we had a Power Plant closer to home.... Thank you for a lovely brunch and for the friendly staff!
Thank you power plant for looking after our big group today. The food was delicious and was a lovely place to celebrate my birthday.
We've been here several times now, and really enjoy the food and the friendly service. The caramel tart and chai latte are particular favourites! My only suggestion is to have some kid-friendly plastic crockery and plates - it's stressful having to monitor a reckless toddler with a glass of juice, while I'm trying to enjoy my toast!
I don't know what kind of sorcery you use to make your delicious food, but keep it up!! The Oreo cheesecake I took home with me was the best vegan cheesecake I've ever had!!
Not a vegetarian or vegan but bloody loved the food! Might have changed me 😃
As someone who has recently become vegan, this place was such a treat. The vegan options are so yummy and the service was lovely. Can not wait to try the rest of the menu!
My favourite cafe to go too! service is always amazing, food is always great, can never go wrong!
Good menu size and take home options to buy
I visited with a group of 5 and we all enjoyed our meals. The prices are completely appropriate for what you're paying for in terms of taste and being surprisingly filling. Everything is definitely made with love here.
The staff are kind welcoming and the space is open and bright.
There aren't that many vegan (or even vegetarian) cafes/ resturants around this area so it's great that Power Plant is here!
Unfortunately there's not many vegan cafes in the area. This place however, still delivers amazing vegan food. The coffee is always great. Their vegan cheesecakes are delicious as well. My favourite menu items are the avocado toast and the black bean burger. If you're in the area and looking for great vegan food, I recommend coming straight here.
My favourite cafe!! Every time I come here I’m greeted warmly and the staff are always so lovely. They even cut tags off a pair of my friend’s mittens for us, they offered it and everything!! The lighting is great, not too bright, the music is quiet but you’re still able to hear it and the people you’re airing with (perfect volume), the prices are very reasonable and the food is great!! Their cakes are especially incredible, I can’t go there without not buying a couple for myself!
Enjoyed our visit due to the plant based food and friendly as well as efficient service. Great selection of food and even the traditional meat eaters were satisfied. I had soba noodle salad and enjoyed the flavour and tempeh really helped me to feel satisfied. Also really easy to book a group table on the weekend when other's wouldnt! 👌
Amazing food highly recommend the breakfast and lunch menu and also the healthy drinks the setting is amazing the vibe at this place is outstanding
Amazing food - lots of variety and options. Reasonable coffee, a little bitter but ok. Great service. Went with a non vegan friend and she loved her meal :)
Honestly one of my favourite cafes. I’m not vegan but it’s so lovely to try some different styles of food and I bring all my vego friends here, they all rave about it. Staff are always so lovely and it’s a great space for kids!!!!
The chilli tofu sandwich was good. The sriracha mayonsise was delicious. The glazed tofu was tasty. The sweet potato crisps could have been better served as wedges, easier to eat and would have made the dish perfect. The mushroom pate was a nice touch.Less sourdough and more vegetables in the sandwich ie more lettuce, could have made it better. Not a lot of lettuce in the dish.My Almond latte was good. The service was good,as it was very busy! The atmosphere was ok.More seating out the back outside would be good when the weather is warm. Some vegan pasta on your menu would be nice ie a vegan gnocchi.Vegan gelato could do well here too in summer time🙏😀☀️
I had the vegan omelette which was good, could have done with some vegan melty cheese though.
My friend had the Japanese bowl, the tofu in it was really nice but she was disappointed with the cold sweet potato and cold overcooked rice.
I also had a yoyo which was really good but would prefer smaller ones.
The peanut butter hot chocolate was nice but not the best I've had, thicker, richer hot chocolates with real chocolate through them are the best, this was more like just a cocoa sugar and milk type of one and not peanutty enough.
Will definitely return though to try more things. I like that they have onion & garlic free options for my friend.
This was my third visit and it gets better and better. Although I’m not a vegan the vegan menu still offers such a variety of interesting combinations of nutritious food and drink. Friendly service albeit a bit slow with good coffee and reasonable prices. I will be back
Came today to celebrate my birthday. I had the smashed pumpkin which was delicious. It was filling. The soy latte was perfect. Will return for sure.
Went here for brunch with a vegan friend. This was our second visit. The food is really good. I'm not vegan but I really like the food I have tried here. My chickpea burger was delicious and the chips are homemade and amazing. I tried my friends waffles and they were good too, wouldn't know that they were vegan! Got a chair latte and it was seriously gigantic! Will be back!
I love powerplant, great food, atmosphere and service. Always can count on them to provide with something tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend!
Super friendly staff, great set up, average prices, amazing menu and quiet area. Hard to fault and will definitely be returning! Great aesthetics and felt very comfortable.
First time at a vegan cafe
Ordered the tofu banh mi and it was satisfying! All the food we ordered looked really good too
Nice looking cafe and friendly staff is always a plus!
this menu was so amazing i couldn’t decide what i wanted! only downside was the coffee was bitter, would definitely come back to try more of the menu!
visit 2 and coffee was perfecto! do it again guys and it’s a 5!
nice place, love the raw deserts although a little pricey. Have eaten there several times and the food is lovely. Tried their beetroot cacao beverage and it was really yummy.
The French toast was absolutely amazing and will definitely recommend and come again but the decor was a bit plain and didn't really add anything to the experience. (Staff were also lovely)
We keep coming back here for brunch... We are vegetarian and health conscious, so power plant serves us well. Environment here is so positive. We love it.
FANTASTIC PLACE! I've been several times with my friend who is vegan and cannot eat gluten. This restaurant not only caters to such needs, but they excel at it. We both get a great meal every time and the staff are lovely. Cannot recommend highly enough.
My trip here today was impeccable - the customer service was fantastic and we were by welcomed by the staff with a smile, contrary to other occasions! It seems they’ve been listening to the reviews, so please keep it up! :)
The French toast is PHENOMENAL, even my omnivore 82 year old Nana was thoroughly impressed! Peanut butter cacao shake hit the spot. The rainbow marriage equality cake looked divine, with the proceeds going to support the YES campaign - although I hadn’t a chance of fitting in anything else after that decadent breakfast. Great experience, bright atmosphere, happy little vegan!
Really love this place, it's big and sun-filled and the same waitress both times I've been there was so friendly and nice.
The omelet potato bravas is delicious, the filling and the "omelet" itself was very good.
The chips with garlic aioli was enough to bring me back here.
The cinnamon French toast was yummy and is beautifully presented.
The quiche was ok, the polenta crust was like a thick pie crust, too thick for me though, especially as I dislike polenta.
The Mac and cheese strangely didn't have much flavour.
I would love if they did freshly pressed juices instead of just the bottled stuff.
Edit: please bring back the old chips!
Seriously refreshing cafe and good coffee. Great vegan option and delicious cakes I've been back several times and have definitely recommended.
Never been disappointed when eating here. Food is always delicious, service is great, staff are friendly and the pricing is very reasonable 😊
Seriously if you haven't been here definitely check it out! Can I say, living around the area, it's a struggle finding a cafe that has vegans options that doesn't include a bland salad, however, problem has been solved! I've been and posted about this place like so so many times on my food page @nourish.plant.foodie and i seriously am loving this cafe. As much as I love travelling to different places, it's always nice knowing I have a Local vegan cafe so easy and quick to get that. Also their treats are to die for especially their cheesecake. However, my favourite dish from this place is securely their burgers:) best burgerrs in time!! @nourish.plant.foodie
A spacious, modern cafe with a creative menu. Service was friendly and efficient. I had the mushroom omelette with herbed potatoes which was delicious!
An extra kudos is always deserved to cafes that do vegan and vegetarian dishes well - will definitely be back!
This gorgeous cafe is a must visit if you're in the area! Power plant has a light, airy, modern vibe and super friendly wait staff with a great menu! I ordered the Spiced Chai in Almond Milk and the Poppyseed and Citrus French Toast. Both were so delicious! I'm not usually an almond milk fan but the chai was actually really good. The French Toast looked absolutely picturesque and tasted the same. Only issue is that the sourdough has such chewy crusts! But overall was more then impressed! Power plant appears to be attached to a local pool for classes and maybe a gym nearby as most diners were in gym clothes or had kiddies with them! The only complaint is the parking - struggled to find a park initially. Overall tho, 4.5 stars!
Having moved to Templestowe from Brunswick, I was impressed by Power Plant cafe - not only because of it's delicious vegan food (of which I tried the Thai "beef" salad and African Spiced Burger - both of which were beautiful) but also due to the fantastic service I received. Another bonus is the enormous amount of solar panels on the roof. This cafe stands up to the vegan restaurants in the Brunswick/Fitzroy area, and is definitely the best cafe in this area - keep it up!
I remember the first time I visited Power Plant Café was straight after reading a review in The Age last year. There aren't many vegan cafes in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, and normally we would have to travel to Fitzroy and Collingwood for a vegan fix. So, hooray for Power Plant!
Power Plant Café is located in Templestowe, next door to a local fitness centre. They recently celebrated their first birthday and opened their doors 7 days a week with a new menu. Offering 100% plant based menus, this place is a "safe" option for Muslims looking for a halal café in the neighbourhood. Their coffees are made with soy milk, but you can request normal milk as well. Either soy or from cows, their coffees are divine. Whether you come for breakfast, brunch or lunch, you can always squeeze cakes and sweets in between. Gelatine free, butter free, eggs free, milk free and yet they are still very temptingly delicious.
With a large dining area, Power Plant Café is a good option for mums with babies and toddlers. They have even prepared an activity table with books and pencils for kids to draw and colour in. They even have a small secluded courtyard area with large windows so children can play outside without being out of sight. How cool is that!
Their serving sizes are generous. Trust me, you will feel satisfied and full even without any meat and eggs in your meal. I ordered the African Spiced Burger made from sweet potato and lentils, with berbere spices. My brunch companion who came along with me today had a mushroom and cheese omelette (non-eggs). Delicious.
Vegan or not vegan, vegetarian or meat lover, I am sure you will find this place as a great option for a clean-eating day.

Awesome friendly service with the most AMAZING RAW desserts & yummy specials! Can't wait to see what is on the new menu :)
Only disappointment is that I didn't know of this little gem any sooner as I'm moving over the other side of town! Not before I get a couple more visits in!
A very good vegan/vegetarian cafe, with lots of menu choices. I had a very enjoyable vegan breakfast, and a decent coffee here. The venue is modern and spacious, with timber floor and settings and lots of natural light. The service was attentive , friendly and quick. I was fortunate to be there on a quieter weekday, as I would imagine it would be a very popular and full cafe on weekends. I shall return!
Power Plant in Templestowe has been open since about October 2015. Templestowe is a suburb located about half an hours drive from the central part of Melbourne and the more vegan friendly suburbs like Fitzroy. This posed a bit of a problem for me initially because I’m nowhere near there and I don’t drive but, mercy me, I discovered I could easily catch a tram then a connecting bus which drops me off right outside Power Plant. Perfect! Apart from the bit where I discovered this gold mine of information too late, because Power Plant was a place I really wanted to visit after hearing positive reviews in vegan land back when it opened.
The food was delicious! Whether your vegan or not, you will be sure to love anything on the menu! I recommend the peanut butter and cacao smoothie, and the French toast, absolutely delish 👌🏻 although I wish it was open more often than it is, and was slightly more affordable.
I've been here twice but I find the food to be a bit too overpriced. The menu is quite small so I won't be going back very often, but it's a pretty new cafe so it's understandable. The French toast was really good and the toastie was good too. The staff are quite friendly and I like the setting its spacious and well lit :)
The service here is excellent. They are genuine, friendly and warm.
For veg*n people, this place is top notch. The menu is not extensive but it's all excellent stuff and 100% plant-based.
For non-vegans, it's really good food - the kind of thing you can enjoy without being into 'health food'. They have a little bit of mock meat if you really need to go there; the Asian-style Spicy Beef Noodle Salad, for example, is delicious.
The desserts are amazing and 9 times out of 10 you'd have no idea it was vegan if they didn't tell you (how do they get their white chocolate to taste so creamy?!)
Overall a fantastic addition to the area. Well worth a visit.
Delish food, all vegan and yum. Sweets are to die for too. Ambience is ok, kind of felt like I was in a kindergarten with the toys around and service was 5/10. Slow, and they forgot our coffee. Not sure if the food alone will bring me back too quickly.
March 2018
Awesome as usual.
As always the food is delicious and kids are happily drawing away.
The chocolate passionfruit cheesecake was especially lovely.
Both my kids gobbled up the Mac and cheese.
This is hands down my favorite local vegan cafe - I go every week! There’s plenty of GF options too. The interior is gorgeous, so spacious and super kid friendly!
This is a lovely place, the staff were all so friendly and we loved the food. The tofu scramble and avo on toast was delicious. Definitely coming back!
Love it! My new go to cafe in Templestowe. A completely plant based menu with house made desserts, meals and even milk. They have a very generous seating setup with two outdoor areas and a large indoor space. The tables of two along the wall are thankfully spaced out. You know sometimes it feels like you have joined in someone else's coffee date? Yeah that doesn't happen here!
I only had a coconut milk latte and a raw snickers slice but wow that snickers slice was AMAZING! And the coffee was excellent too. My friend got green tea and the banana bread. I had a small taste of her bread and it was to die for also.
I can't wait to come back for breakfast or lunch, the burger and 'the scram' sound delicious.
I would have preferred more attentive service but it was late afternoon only an hour before they closed so I can cut them some slack!
A great café attached to the Manningham sports centre with superb vegan food, if not a little on the pricey side.
The menu is small but I've tried nearly everything on it and it's all been tasty and beautifully presented. There is also a great selection of drinks and a big selection of some amazing cakes and sweet treats that change all the time. Most of the menu is fresh and healthy but if you want a fried treat, the chips are the business - thick cut, fried to maximum crunchiness and covered in smoked paprika and some salt...yum!
The staff have always been attentive, friendly and helpful. Power Plant also has beautiful modern décor inside with lots of Windows in the spacious indoor dining area, and seating including bar stools, tables and lounge chairs. On top of that they have a secluded decked outdoor area and a large open decked outdoor area with outdoor tables and umbrellas.
Make sure you check the opening hours because they are a little different to most places.
Thanks for bringing something better to Templestowe Village, Power Plant!
Delicious fresh food, and amazing coffee. The raw cakes are divine, and the dining area is lovely and bright. They even have power points on the bench seating for laptops, phones etc.
Not a single bad thing to say about this place. Great service, food was quick and scrumptious and drinks were amazing. Definitely worth the drive down to try it and the weather was perfect to sit outside, made for the perfect environment!
Will be back again even though this was our second time back!
P.s. order the chips because they are life changing
Power Plant is a refreshingly different cafe in the Manningham area. I am not vegan or vegetarian but found the menu was still appealing to me. Power Plants menu is nice and simple, keeping the options to a minimum but still featuring sweet and savoury options for breakfast, as well as some good lunch options. I had the Thai Beef Salad (with faux beef), it was filling and flavoursome. My sister had The Scram which included toasted bread, tofu scramble, capsicums, and she then added potatoes. Both meals were filling and tasty. I also had a coffee with house made soy milk which was delicious. I think the biggest treat for us were the vegan sweets afterwards. We shared a Snickers Slice and a Caramel Slice. Not only do vegan sweets look delicious, they taste great as well! The staff were friendly with one staff member (may have been the owner) in particular standing out, with her extra friendly attitude and willingness to engage. I can't forget to mention the funky interior! Power Plant have made an effort to make the interior welcoming, with mid century modern vibes. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu at Power Plant.
Delicious vegan food that is not too scary for non-vegans as well. Coffee is consistently good, meals are tasty and very generous portions and the desserts are incredible. Kid friendly venue with the most lovely staff ever. We will be back!
A cute cafe. I had the scram - so yum and I had one of the cupcakes which was lovely.
It is nice to have a local veggie/vegan place to eat.
Will definitely be back 😀
Very impressed. Dragged my reluctant boyfriend here who was having a whinge about there being no eggs. I didn't hear a bad word from him after he got his meal. We both ordered the tofu scramble and my oh my it was delicious! Serving size was large compared to what we expected and all for a reasonable price! Staff were lovely, coffee was great too. Can't wait to return and try out everything on the menu! Also love that there is no set breakfast or lunch time, the menu is all day so you don't miss out on anything! Excited to return.
UPDATE: Returned today and tried 'the salad' which was delicious, only criticism would be the small serving size! It didn't feel quite big enough for a main meal. Also tried the raw caramel slice which was to die for 😍
As a Vegan family we were stoked to hear about Power Plant opening. We finally got the chance to have lunch there today. It did not disappoint. Fresh, flavoursome, a lovely enviroment and beautiful staff. A must visit. Our new spot for sure!
Brilliant new 'plant based' cafe in Templestowe. Bright, happy environment with a simple but delicious menu. Plenty of options even if you think you can't go without meat! Well designed so that even when it's busy you can hear easily (a common complaint) because of the attention paid to the acoustic design. Great value for money too. Well worth a visit.
It is possibly the best vegan cafe I have ever visited! The owner of Power Plant Johanna is vegan and she has put her heart and soul into making this place so inviting. It is such a great place for spending time in; The place is so light-filled, with long comfortable bench seats, clean and fresh decor, clean toilets; Johanna and her team have thought of every little aspect right down to the fresh flowers that adorn each table. There is also an outdoor area where you can sit and eat. Just so so relaxing and enjoyable. Our whole family loves this place. There is something for everyone here.
And then there is the food. OMG!!! There are cooked, gluten-free and raw vegan options to tempt all palettes for breakfast, brunch, lunch or early afternoon tea. The mains are very reasonably priced and delicious, the desserts are made by Rhiannon, they are just out of this world. Rhiannon is so creative and intuitive with her desserts, once you taste her raw cakes and home-made baking, you will be hooked! The staff at Power Plant try to anticipate your every need with love and it really shows. They have got absolutely everything right.
Beautiful decor, cakes are to die for! The sweet potato and tahini rice salad was the perfect lunch. A great addition to the North-Eastern suburbs. Check it out! :D
Being a meat lover I was sceptical about visiting this cafe when it was suggested by my friend considering this is a Vegan cafe. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly and very attentive waitress, who was actually the business owner. Feeling special already! Had two amazing cakes and a very tasty rice salad.........aesthetically pleasing too! Very family friendly, fabulous food and also healthy carbonated drinks from NZ!! It has to be good!!
Power Plant has modern industrial decor with a touch of elegance. The layout is spacious and the bench seating and chairs are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We have been here three times in the past two weeks and have enjoyed our meals every time. The almond cappuccino in particular is just beautiful. We just enjoyed a vegan sausage roll and pasta salad. The vegan cakes are also very yummy. I highly recommend this new Cafe.
Light bright immaculately clean cafe. LOVE the feel of this place and the food did not disappoint. While the menu is very limited right now, put your stretchy pants on because the cakes- raw and cooked are TO DIE FOR. Did you think that Vegan food is all lentils and smelly armpits? Well then you will be in for a surprise. Check this place out for clean eating in the burbs.
Plant-based cafe located in Templestowe that worths a visit! @powerplant_cafe serves tasty vegan food and some beautiful drinks too.
Here we tried:
🧇 Sweet Potato Waffle (blached asparagus, mushroom bacon, sour cream & chives, puffed wild rice, hazelnut, romesco sauce)
🍔 Brekkie Burger (brioche bun, hash brown, smashed avo, scrambled tofu and tomato & beetroot relish)
🧇 Cherry Ripe Waffles (with Cherry Ripe Chocolate Bar)
🧊☕ Iced Coffee (with coconut ice cream)
•
To start off the sweet potato waffle was great! It was tasty as all the elements are working harmoniously to create a beautiful dish. The mushroom bacon was the highlight - the texture and flavor was amazing. The waffle probably as not as fluffy as the regular non-vegan waffle but still moist and tasty nonetheless. Recommended!
•
The brekkie burger was another good one! The tomato and beetroot relish was to die for. It looked a bit messy for a burger, however, it was surprisingly very enjoyable to eat - would love to have the chips included rather than as an extra.
•
Perhaps the only dessert item when we visited the cafe - a must order if you are craving for sweet dish! Loving the combination of sweet and sour of the cherry ripe and the strawberry. Coming from a non-vegan background, perhaps what feels weird for us was the texture of the waffle, quite chewy, mochi-like texture, maybe the lack of butter or other ingredients.
•
Overall, we highly recommend this cafe for something different. Friendly staff, great vegan menu, love everything we've eaten here. There are plenty of seating outside as the inside tends to get busy.
•
Started out with Red Velvet Latte. Not bad at all. Their take on King Oyster was interesting and paired well with the provided sauce.
Would recommend for vegans.
Great food but slow service and can also get very busy at the coffee machine with walk-ins. Meals are a good size for the price. Lots of gluten free options available. They also offer cow's milk for coffee (only) to cater to non vegans - a definite plus for our family events needing to cater to everyone.
This vegan restaurant is a delight for the senses! They manage to delicately put flavour and taste in all their dishes! From breakfast to dinner to snacks the food is infused with unique flavours and unique scents!
We had the green burger, loaded fries, choc sundae waffles and heaps of Mocha and lattes and capucchino's!
I give them 5 stars and recommend the visit!
The people who served me and my 11 family members were amazing! Their ability to cater for special needs for family and children is great!
We ordered a chocolate and raspberry cake for my daughter’s birthday. Everyone came up to me and told me it was delicious! We asked for a thin layer of frosting so it’s not too sweet and that was perfect. The process from ordering to pick up was also very smooth. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a vegan cake in the east!
The service is good, the atmosphere and layout is very good, and the beverages are also good.
However, some of the food seems a little lacking. This may simply be due to personal preference, but I had their tofu scramble. It was dry, and it had turmeric on it. To put a long story short, it was fairly unpleasant.
However, the chips on the other hand were very nice. I have had them twice now, the first time being the better experience. The chips were nice and crisp, with a smoky aioli. The second time, whoever cooked them didn't refry them enough, and some chips were a little overdone, whereas others hadn't actually been heated up quite as much and were only warm. Nevertheless, it still tasted fine.
Delicious vegetarian food. In fact it is such a shame it is not open in the evenings . We shared the green bowl, the breakfast bowl, a green burger and a bowl of the smokey hand cut fries. It was all delicious, tasty and nutritious.
Always love a visit to Power Plant. So many delicious vegan options and just a great place away from the hustle and bustle to have a nice meal. They have a good selection of gifts and snacks for purchase too!
